Not all that true. I bamboozle good survivors at shack all the time. Just depends on the killer you're using.
That's with Bamboozle. Killers shouldn't have to rely on perks to fix bad map design.
-
Don't do that.

You don't need a Breakable Wall to deal with Shack.
Yes you do. If survivors play smart, they're never gonna give you a hit or the shack pallet for free. They usually vault the window twice, get hit, and then run away, leaving the shack pallet up so they can use it over and over again. This structure is not okay.
-
I can't imagine why. Could it be that killers don't get rewarded for playing normally, so they have to play like that to get kills?
-
This is like calling for Doctor nerfs all over again. Unimpressive killer at high level, gets a ton of complaints, gets nerfed. I'm just waiting for it to happen at this point.

If the Perk would be useless, I would not see it in over 70% of my Survivor-games.
Not sure why its use rate is still that high. It really does baffle me, with how quick it goes down and how boons are now an extra incentive to go for totems.

what if you use blighted serum add on on blight?
It either doesn't do anything, or it gives him 1 additional rush rather than changing his power to the super speedy thing it does to other killers. I can't remember which.

Survivors have gotten nothing but nerfs since the game came out...
Survivors have never received an unjust nerf. Everything that's happened to them has been for better game balance. Unlike the killer nerfs, which just happen because people don't want to learn counterplay and DC all the time.

Look out, last time I mentioned the skill of one I got a warning.
If they do that to me, they're gonna prove that I'm right, and also further cement that they're completely disconnected from the killer community.
-
Yes, get rid of the final ways that killers can actually secure 1 measly kill, which is the typical kill result these days.

I really don't get how people can think nemesis is bad. He can hit through pallets and vaults, that's invaluable.
But you have to contaminate the survivors first, THEN you can damage them, and just the contamination that doesn't even deal damage gives a sprint burst. He can get through pallets pretty quickly but that only happens if the survivors aren't mindgaming them at all, and even when they do throw all their pallets away they've probably done all the gens by then because of his bad 1v4. His zombies are inconsistent at best, and he has to rely on add-ons to level up in a reasonable amount of time. And the survivors have free vaccines to use whenever, so that he has to contaminate them again just to damage them with the whip. I like playing as him, but he just can't compete.

Reworking the map is a better option. You just can’t not have pallets.
Haddonfield gets pretty darn close to being a map where even without pallets, it's still fine for the survivors to loop on. The fences, the god windows, the house of pain. It's all a complete disaster if you're the killer.
-
Yeah and they're garbage at it. Just watch them play killer.

If you need NOED because you cant catch a single survivor you belong in the bottom grades. Learn how to not get looped for 5 gens. It up to you to adapt and know who to chase and who to not. FYI I can deal with noed because with SWF all 4 of us bone rush before going to a single gen. For the 1 million time ill say noed is never an issue with swf for me its solo queue that makes it an issue.
I don't use NOED, so I'm not sure why you turned that back on me. But if solos can't deal with NOED and SWF can, don't you think there's something else to blame other than just the killer using a perk which usually isn't that strong and that they're allowed to use?
-
It's what happens when the devs see a killer has 1 or 2 strong add-ons. Their basekit gets nerfed.
-
No more killer nerfs!

The boons will not always be executed smoothly though. As others have mentioned, some survivors will prioritize their totems over generators which I think is a better thing for killers. Though this does add onto the killer's plate, the severity shouldn't be dramatic, snuffing out takes a second or two and if the killer has map awareness, they'll easily know where it is.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2596864#Comment_2596864
Yeah, I feel you. Boons do have the potential to do something great, but other variables can apply to make it less impactful.
It wastes 1 survivor's time of about 20 seconds to keep relighting a totem, and the killer 2 second to destroy it, but meanwhile the other 3 survivors are doing gens. So "but they're not doing gens" just doesn't work for this.

I don’t wanna work on a single gen for 3 minutes.
No, but would 1 minute kill you? Because right now, 2 survivors on a gen don't even take that long. The survivors get the gens done too fast, and without going through hoops of killer buffs, lengthening the gen times is the simplest way to balance.
-
You shouldn't. It makes the game that much more hard and stressful for you, to the delight of the survivors.
-
Welcome to the real world. Killers can't win playing normally, so they play like this.
-
People will play him for fun. But he can't compete, and he never could before either.

Sound like you need a break.
Yes. Go play something else. Like Civilization, right?

They're game breaking. The killer has to babysit so much already. Now there's infinite boons too.

As long as you're not clicking, it's fine.

but if they make gen speeds longer, that’s gonna be way more boring. I already dose off when thana is in play.
They can be way longer. Are you kidding? They get done in minutes when the team's not screwing around. Thanatophobia is a joke of a slowdown perk.

But look how much complains there are about easy to counter dead hard ? its funny we cant complain about noed but killers are allowed all the glory to moan about dead hard lol.
If you can't even deal with NOED, you belong in the bottom grades. It gives a killer the chance to get 1 kill. The rest is up to the survivors.

They can play how they want. They risk being countered by those perks. Which is the whole point of bringing a perk. Killers bring perks to help them win, same as survivors.
No, the reality is the killer's best perks don't really do anything in the grand scheme of things, while survivors have endless crutches and counters to every little possible thing the killer can do.
-

The reason the twins are ranked so high is that they are very good at slugging and camping.
But you can't even do that if Victor's pounce refuses to connect with the survivors.
-
They are absolute rip-offs, especially for the licensed characters. Anything above 500 auric cells is an overpriced joke. You get so little value for so much money.
-
That's probably what the game should be balanced around, but if we honestly thought that was gonna happen, we'd be living in a dream!

Yes, they brought a perk to counter what you're doing. Same as killers who bring perks to counter what I'm doing. Anyone complaining about DS at this point needs to get over themselves. Unbreakable counters a killer trying to greed once per match. BT, again you try to hit the person right off the hook I have no sympathy.
Okay, so killers can just go for 12-hook games and never sweat, maybe even meme around for 30 seconds. And they can 4k survivors every game with no effort, without perks or add-ons. Killers just don't have a thing to worry about do they? Certainly not survivor perks!
-
Nurse, Blight, and a few other killers with the strongest possible stuff can be viable. Nobody else competes.
-
I still see and hear a bit about Pinhead. Mostly complaints. He's gonna be on the nerf-happy players' monitors until Engineer's Fang gets nerfed, despite that being the sole add-on that makes him viable. After that, then he'll really fall into obscurity.
-
His nerf came out of nowhere. He soooooo did not need that. Once again, survivors are given a 5 course meal and killers are thrown crumbs from the devs' ivory tower. The worst part about it is there's no going back. Old Deathslinger is lost forever. If he ever gets a buff, he will only ever be a fraction as strong as he was originally. They'll "meet us halfway" aka not reverting these laughably unjust changes but instead giving him something in between the old version and the current version. And if that's too OP for crybaby survivors, they'll revert that back too, no questions asked!
-
We don't have time to deal with these perks, is the point. We can't juggle gens, survivors, AND totems along with keeping track of all the information associated with those things. Playing killer just feels like an overwhelming game of chance now. Maybe I win, maybe I don't. Who can tell?
-
I'm also very disappointed that patch after patch, gens aren't addressed, and instead survivors get more and more tools to turn the killer into their plaything.
-
Everything is killer sided to y'all.

@thrawn3054 said:
BT, don't tunnel and it has zero effect.
DH, fair enough of a complaint.
Unbreakable, one time use only matters if you try to greed.
Deliverance, earned with a decent chance of never triggering.
DS, already hard nerfed and only matters if you tunnel.
Adrenaline, again it was earned. They finished their objective.
Swf with comms, also a fair complaint.
So we actually only have one second chance perk.
As for Noed, you did nothing to earn the speed boost/insta down. In other words it feels cheap. Basically it's the killer DH. Personally I'd rework Noed, but it's still a fair perk. At least in my opinion.
Perks like those never have "no effect" or "don't do anything". They completely deter and punish vital killer playstyles. They reinforce an already solid foundation that is survivor strength.
-
I'd like to get the skin, too. But it's gonna have to go on a special sale, because right now it's overpriced af.

Lets not be greedy like video game companies -.-.
No, they are literally such a rip-off. I got Jonathan for 800 auric cells, and that's 50% off?! These are like $10-$20 skins!
-
@Shaped said:
I want shards too bhvr.
And maybe some auric cells so I can be 10% towards buying ONE of those overpriced skins.
-
No killer is a free win. You have to give it your all. No add-ons, perks, or playstyles change this.
-
My muscle memory with him is screwed.
-
It will never be nerfed. Survivors are destined to be stronger than killers, by a factor of 10.
-
It is the same green medkit. It doesn't have any add-ons is all, which I'm not sure that matters because Tremendous (as it was formerly known as) healing speed might be the cap for healing speed, or I might be wrong. I'd like to know what the cap is, or if there is any, if anyone knows.
-
Take full advantage of it. No mercy. Killers need all they can get.
-
@Mooks said:
It really should get the struggle treatment.
and I noticed that I suffer from wiggling survivors more when I play on controller compared to M&K as killer. But controller QoL needs way more than just that.
Yes, the wiggling is nuts. It literally denies you hooks sometimes because the game decided that the survivor pushed you against a corner instead of where you were clearly walking to. I have to alternate between looking left and right to get with the rhythm my character is being forced into. Literally, look at how much the survivor moves you when they wiggle and you're standing still. It's so much!
-
I said this would happen. I have no clue why Built to Last had to be buffed, especially to this degree.
-
Why is this even a question? It's boons. Because they're strong perks that can be used infinitely, and hexes just look pretty before they're destroyed in the first minute.

Unironically chasing survivors is slowly becoming a way to LOSE the game. Like I said, I can somewhat get behind Pallet Hit Validation, even though it made it easier to loop pallets safely.
Now they enabled the Healing Boon again, on top of this....I'm going to start letting people bleed out on the floor or basement camp.
I except a HUGE killer rework soon or this game will be a joke. If I'm being honest, give every killer 5% added to their movement speed. It will make the game more interesting instead of Survivors just greeding DH because of Hit Validation, and greeding Pallets because....once again, Hit Validation.
I've also come to the conclusion that hooking/going for proper chases doesn't even do anything for you as killer. It loses you more momentum than you gain from it.
