My friend experienced it the other day. Even when he was spectating an alive person, he couldn't hear her.
-
You can't do anything against it.

I wish it didnt work, its a bs perk that needs a ground up rework
Yeah. There are people who legit see nothing wrong with the perk.

@Emeraldwing said:
There is nothing in the perks description that says it marks the totems it reveals on an equipped map. If it did, it would state so, like it does for Detective's Hunch.
This is why I run Counterforce OR a map. Having both is redundant.
-
Yeah, it's like they're pretending that holding W isn't effective. Is the logic that, "Well, if we say this then it will just be true all of a sudden"? That's like saying that looping isn't effective and that you should always hide instead.
-
Because the devs don't want people using different effective strategies, like comboing a small TR killer with M&A so they can sneak up quickly. Every killer should just be the same with very little variability.
-
If you're gonna frenzy and stay on the same survivor, you might as well not be using your ability. When Legion gets the first frenzy hit, they see the heartbeats of survivors in their terror radius, and that allows them to go from survivor to survivor, injuring multiple people quickly. If you were to use your power on a survivor and stay on them, you'd be wasting that potential damage, and you would still have to go through the fatigue when you come out of your power. If you're gonna do that, you might as well have just basic attacked them twice.

Who are you going to try or are you done with killer if boons get out of control?
I'll attempt killer, but if I don't like it I'll just quit, which is the same thing many survivors have done to get us to this point.

I stand by my opinion. Three gens aren’t fun for either side, at least the hatch and keys prevent the game being held hostage in that situation. Even with the upcoming changes, nothing is being done about survivors meandering around to avoid being found in such situations.
Killers don’t need to 4K every game.
You don't need to escape every game either. 2 or 3 of your teammates already got out. Why are you so entitled to escaping?
That's what it feels like when people say killers don't always have to get 4k's. What they mean is killers shouldn't even have a chance to get a 4k sometimes, that there should be something that trumps their skill, and in this case it's keys.
-
Nurse is a platform for killer to be the power role. For now, I think we should be raising other killers to her level, instead of ruining one of the last strong killers in the game, even though I don't like the nature of her power.

I mean if you have game on multiple platform ppl expect it to work they paid for all of that
That's true but the devs apparently didn't listen.
-
Hexes aren't gonna be a thing anymore. Too many counters.
-
Yeah it seems like people are just glossing over how little killer's getting buffed and how hard some are getting nerfed. They just focus on whatever new survivor stuff there is, and pay no mind to much else.
-
Precise killers never work for console. The mouse is so superior.
-
None for me. Deathslinger comes close, but that won't matter soon.
-
I hate the priority it gives the survivor. It's nuts.
-
Self-Care is one of the few balanced self-heal options. Medkits just brake the game compared to it. Healing yourself should not be quicker than someone else healing you.

If someone is running Thrill of The Hunt they are most likely running all totem perks so BBQ is not even in the equation.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2558278#Comment_2558278
Yeah i dont know..Thats actually crazy to me! Now its just another Thanatophobia with no notification.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2558279#Comment_2558279
That extra time doesnt compensate for the non notification its getting at all. If someone is touching my totem i deserve to know. Undying gives you a aura for a few seconds but that notification is a deal breaker and can determine the outcome of games. Hex Thrill of the Hunt will be another unusable perk unless they change it back.
I didn't like how it worked before either. The noise notification of them touching a totem sounds exactly the same as any other noise notification, so unless you're looking straight at it when it goes off, and aren't in chase or something, you wouldn't even be able to tell it was being cleansed. It needed major buffs really.

I agree this looks amazing and I'd love if the game looked like this but graphics shouldn't be a priority. Especially when the game is as unfun and unbalanced as it is right now.
No compromises. We should be able to have graphical updates AND balance updates.

They just need to fix her animation when she moves. She shouldn't be phasing in and out of reality when she's just walking, because it makes it very hard to tell when she turns and whatnot. Just a niche little thing she has that gets her hits she shouldn't be getting.

It is, just like equipping perks to countert hat legit strategy that many people don't enjoy going against, and making them useless so the playstyle has barely any counters is not the right thing to do.
There's no suggestions here. I'm just pointing stuff out.
-
Killers will say all perks are fair except NOED. No, it too is fair. Survivors can destroy, it's a hex so it's supposed to be strong, and there's little point in defending gens, so why not take it?
-
Knock Out isn't an effective perk either. It can be good against solos. SWF ruins the perk.

Stop being lazy and learn how to format your post. :D
Actually boon totems were something asked for by both sides. Survivors wanted "hexes" like killers and killers wanted something to "waste" survivor time so gens wouldn't go as fast. Tada - Boon totems.
A HUD rework was asked for quite often in player satisfaction surveys, twitter, and even the forums.
As far as animations - it's called evolution. Don't be surprised when newer animations for healing come into the game as well.
If you think insulting - or trying to insult someone- based off their occupation is funny, mature or acceptable as a retort; that says a lot about you.
ONE thing that you mentioned is worked on by the same team responsible for assisting with game balance - boon totems - which again were something asked for either deliberately or inadvertently by the community.
They tried upgrading animations before. The community threw a fit for some reason and they got removed, so now we're still with the same old animations.

Kill rates for most killers are well above the 50% threshold, so clearly the game isn't super survivor sided in all games. Learn to run tiles correctly and you can get all non-long walls out of the way in 20 seconds or less. DH for distance is annoying, but it's an exhaustion perk, it's supposed to be strong, just like sprint burst.
In short, git gud.
What do you think about Blood Lodge with 3 jungle gyms spawned, 2 of which are long-wall jungle gyms, plus the survivors have Dead Hard, and you're not playing Blight or Nurse? Do we just "git gud" and overcome all that, plain and simple? What tile-running improvements are there to make? I don't care about overall kill rates, because that is not reflective of what most of us are experiencing.

You mean the Perk which is still mediocre? BHVR can even remove the Cooldown and it will not be that good. When do you have mutliple Pallets lying around? And in the end, every Killer can do something against thrown Pallets (and they already do, at least the strong ones...AMN most likely can replace unsafe Pallets, at best).
And nah, you dont need to think about Deliverance. What do you want to do? Camp everyone who might have unhooked someone before? This is not really an option, except if you want to lose the game if the other 3 Survivors are mildly competent.
Resetting pallets is really strong. Yes, the killer will instantly break a god pallet if he's smart, but the "weaker" pallets that can be played around without breaking them are also stronger again once reset. The killer can't afford waste time kicking every pallet on the map or they lose.

Lol, complaining about not being able to slug is the most precious thing I've ever heard. You play scummy - get treated scummy.
It's a legitimate strategy.
-
They should just get rid of it. There should be no permanent silence perks or add-ons. We need sound cues in order to play the game.
-
You'll be lucky to see any killers playing.
-
With our luck, it's a shadow-nerf to killer; an intended feature.

A crutch has nothing to do with counterplay, its only about something that gives the player some kind of help or advantage without anything doing for it.
Yes but these are objective-based perks, and the survivor objectives are leagues easier than killer's. Survivors have more than enough time to do all the gens and totems, and that's how they get their Adrenaline. Killers can't really stop the gens or totems from being done, so they're dependent on NOED which can be destroyed in the hopes that they actually get to use it. Adrenaline is practically guaranteed these days.

I agree and it makes me sad that i struggle against survivors that bring no medkits/toolboxes
Not even OP perks either. You just play around them anyway though, because you can't afford not to, and it costs you.
-
Survivors don't even need items to win. They're just a "win more" option.
-
@BenZ0 said:
Well crutch defines if you get carried by a ability, weapon or whatsoever in any game without doing something for that.
In dbd there is no such thing as a "crutch" killer cuz basicly every Killer has their own way to be played, if you dont use the ability then you will get no results simple as that.
However there are crutch perks, perks that can give you a advantage without really doing anything for that, cuz that is literally the meaning of a "crutch" in gaming. Therefore we would have for example:
Noed and Adrenaline
Both these perks can give you a clutch moment without you doing anything to gain it, you just slap the perk in and thats it. If it works then it works if not then not, simple as that.
How is NOED a crutch is survivors can cleanse it before or after it's active? A crutch should be any thing you can't counterplay at all, like Adrenaline when you know all the gens get done almost guaranteed most matches.
-
@GannTM said:
Crutch is an excuse people use when they get outplayed, on both sides really.
Survivors do have crutch things. Assume someone gets farmed off hook with no BT in endgame. But they're right next to an exit, so they can crawl out unless you pick them up. You pick them up, and they DS you. Nothing you could have done in that situation. This is just one of countless scenarios in which survivors messed up, but their perks alone got them out of it.
-
I just want to get some kills. Is that too much to ask?
-
Even camping and tunneling doesn't do it for me. I want a chance at a 4k, not settling for a 1k either way!
-
It keeps the game going for one side. For killer, it's a determining factor in whether or not they want to get off the game for the day.
-
It's what happens when every other character is unviable.
-
@Wiitab360 said:
I was thinking Pyramid Head or Blight. They're not all necessarily good add-ons, but there is a lot of variety.
Blight doesn't have as much variety as I'd like though. I just keep seeing and hearing Alchemist's Ring and the blighted animals. It's because the other ones are so weird or inconsequential to the survivors. There's an add-on that I use which gives you 1 less rush token but it makes them recharge faster, and the downside makes it almost not worth it. Then there's the ones with slightly decreased recovery, increased bump time, the awful browns. He could definitely have better.
-
Yes, but WHY do the killers feel the need to tunnel? Why are they so afraid to play without doing those things? Because it's not viable to play nice.
-

MMR isn't a reward. You gain nothing from increasing your MMR.
So no, there is no 'incentive' to play scummy for easy kills.
Kills are easy when the survivors make them that way.
-
To make you feel bad so they can feel good about themselves.
-
@Labrac said:
Nope. The first Plaything that gets destroyed will be transfered, but then Undying is gone. You'd be better running Retribution or TOTH (although TOTH is getting nerfed soon).
Thrill is getting nerfed?
-
@Legionair said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2555834#Comment_2555834
Even playing as survivor just 80 seconds of skill checks while someone does a chase is too boring especially at higher mmr, I think it would be more engaging for survivors as well as give killer more opportunities for more chases and would help balance out the length of the game
So you want gens to be slower or faster? I can't tell.
-
I've stopped throwing ideas out there about how to fix gen speed other than just upping the time by 20 seconds or something. And that's because it's simple, and I don't have to waste tons of time typing out a good idea that nobody will hear me out on, because they won't even consider making compromises on how to make gens take longer. Apparently, "gens take too long as it is".
-
Never when I need it to happen. If I have a medkit or Inner Strength, the killer never lets me go until they down me. If I have neither of those and there's no teammates anywhere near to heal me, of course they drop chase.
-
There's not a chance of that happening. Wraith and Deathslinger got nerfed. Plague's getting a joke add-on. Trapper's getting an add-on where he can't pick his own traps up. The devs simply don't want killers to be viable.
