Recoil what does he shoot it out of a gun?
No, he throws knives, which is why it's so baffling.

Did you actually know why he was nerfed? It was because his design was unhealthy and they admitted that, it wasn't because "he was too strong" or "survivors didn't like him", it was because his design was just not good for the game. If you still don't see that, then this post was directed at you lol.
How was he unhealthy? Because he had SOME control in chase over the survivors, in exchange for very little map presence? Is he at fault when survivors give him a free option select at a window, or keep trying to juke his shots when he's not shooting? The delay on the zoom in and the increased terror radius gives players literally no reason to play him over Huntress. Trickster's probably more powerful than him at this point. I was enjoying him so much before his nerf, too. Shots that I could land before, I can't now. Now he has to be played like Huntress, where if you try to quickscope you're gonna miss, but if the survivors dodge and weave you have to wait for them to come directly into your sight, and that's bit gonna happen if they're playing smart and hugging loops to avoid los. This was truly a change which was catered towards survivors who were sub-casual.

Even though I’ve definitely had situations where I could notice the lunge difference, overall the nerf really hasn’t been that big of a deal for me. I’ve still been performing about the same with wraith as I did before. And I never ran all seeing anyways.
I recently tried new blood favor on him and it actually felt pretty decent, definitely got some free downs because there were no pallets and I could quickly catch up.
If you're downing survivors because of Blood Favour, they're playing the game wrong. When you get hit, you just use the sprint burst to get to a loop without blocked pallets.

Yes. Pop and Ruin are literally useless against good teams. More people should realize this.

You don't need help saving bp. You just do it.

You say boons give survivors a secondary objective by blessing totems, killers have a perk that gave survivors a secondary objective which was old undying, look what happened to that survivors complained about it and that it was not fun and to hard if you have to destroy all 5 even though survivors have perks and items to help find totems so it got nerfed.
Now the devs bring out a perk that benefits survivors and can make the killers game even harder survivors are more then happy to look for totems to bless them and killers have no real hard counter to boon totems , At least with old undying survivors knew it was you get lucky and find the right hex or you end up destroying a max of 5 totems now how many times can a survivor bless a totem im pretty sure its more then 5.
So how can you claim boons are a great change and a healthy one when survivors claimed old undying wasn't?
While also claiming that Deathslinger's nerf was needed, btw.
-
You lost me at Deathslinger's nerf being necessary. If he's "too strong", there's no hope for this game.

He’s one of my mains and in high level play yea he’s pretty trash but he’s 100% one of the EASIEST killers anyone can ever lay their hands in you literally hit, cloak, down. Either you don’t know how to play Wraith properly or with all due respect your just trash
Try playing Wraith without Bamboozle, and with survivors who actually know his counterplay.

Well as an LGBT player who is apparently being "milked" for things... i'm confused. I don't see them pushing some LGBT "agenda" to you...? Must be some fantasy y'all are imagining lol.
May be. But it just seems forced.
-
I'm just being frank. It's observable. I see stuff like this from BHVR all the time.
I've never even heard of half these people, but they get into the fog whisperers and different events because they're BHVR'S token LGBT people, meanwhile people like Tru3 aren't upstanding enough for them.
-
The removal of i-frames.
-
Fun for me is winning, or at least having the chance to win any match, assuming I play well enough. But the game isn't like that. You can play killer flawlessly, but because you didn't bring strong enough perks or add-ons or got an unfavorable map or weren't playing a high tier killer, you lose by default. The survivors' objective is way easier and faster to complete than the killer's. So some matches I have fun, but most matches I'm not having fun.
-
Hatch won't be nerfed enough until it's completely gone. That's what I got from this nerf.
-
Because DBD is losing its broad appeal, so the devs figured they could appeal to and milk the LGBT community for publicity and ratings. It doesn't say anywhere that Trickster is LGBT, but you can see that's what he's being pushed as.
-
This would be easier to answer if I had actually gone against a Spirit once since her nerf.
-
I remember coming across maybe 1 uncleansable totem, never an uncleansable hex. But I have seen several unsnuffable totem spots since boons came out. So this is a double standards situation, but not for the reasons you're thinking.

With every major update the game gets some new killer-sided mechanics (window blockers, less pallets on maps, weaker structures, bloodlust, regenerating hooks, unsaboable beartraps, middle vaults, removal of vacuums, BT nerf, SC nerf, 2 DS nerfs, get regression, the ability to close the hatch, EGC, faster killer animations for hooks, pickups, vaults and trap sets, DC punishments, weakening of every possible loop on every possible map, the list goes on forever), but yeah, the devs are definitely sided with survivors!
Bloodlust, entity blocker, and pallet vacuums aren't survivor nerfs or killer buffs, they were desperately needed for the health of the game. Why do y'all keep lumping those in with killer buffs? They're not even the same.

You can't please everyone. Survivors will call you toxic just for playing Twins in a way that gets you kills.

This add-on really isn't up to par like we thought it would be. I think it's a substitute for Corrupt, with the downside of having no traps for the rest of the game. 3 people get their head traps off, and 1 does a gen/gets chased. It's not gonna lead to massive slowdown or pressure or head pops. If the headtraps started on the survivors AND she had 4 to use like normal, then she might even be viable. But it's not an OP add-on like we assumed it would be.
-
A flower monster?

So the killer shouldn't get to use their perks?

@Oscarnator said:
Yea lol, all seeing is so bad that it counter any mind game for survivors. So dumb. Not to mention if you don’t have spine hill he will always get a free hit no matter what unless you wanna waste a pallet anytime he tries to uncloak.
Blight has limited charges and relies on flicks/good movement with your camera and predicting what the survivor is gonna do wraith you just run up to them, uncloak, BONK, repeat = kills
Thats why mindgames exist you pretend to go on one side then go to the other not to mention it’s a SHORT loop the survivor is getting hit/downed no matter what basically.
What do you mean EVERYONE said he sucked and needed windstorm addons? 😂
If you think he's that easy to use and do well with, you either only play survivor or have very limited experience playing him.
-

wraith's post cloak is exactly the same. i don't know why people keep saying it isn't. a lunge lasts 0.3 seconds and his speed boost last 1 second instead of 1.25. he was seriously barely touched.
He's noticably weaker because of the shorter lunge. With it being nerfed, he has to battle just to get 1 hit.
-
They should get rid of dpi flicks and keep sliding techs.

The fact you "read" this and only got that "she isn't strong enough" tells me you didn't read it. It's literally a bug list and a description of how irritating it is to play her but you just had to make it about your hate for the killer.
I think she's a model killer in terms of strength, in that other killers should be that strong, but I think for her specifically, when played properly and without bugs hindering her, she's too strong because she can literally ignore walls and obstacles. That's why I hate Spirit getting nerfed because she's actually fun to play against and has more counterplay than not. Soon we'll probably see Blight nerfed. Then all there will be is Nurse, and while her level of strength is what we should be aiming for for other killers, her ability makes her inherently OP. Her bugs hold her back, and that's why I say she "isn't strong enough". All it would take is the removal of her bugs for people to see how game breaking she can be. And I don't care if she takes a lot of skill to play. A killer shouldn't be that easy to win with no matter the skill.
-
When multiple survivors have boons, they're absolutely broken. They can theoretically replace them faster than you can snuff them, meanwhile there will be at least 1 survivor doing gens.
-
When you have Rancor and the survivor just hides and then gets out.
-
You'll be pleased to find that the game actually has a MMR system and a DC penalty. Whenever I switch over to Friday, those are the things I miss the most.
-
For how strong she is, yeah, she's got it super bad. Can literally blink through walls but it's not strong enough because of inconsistency.
-
For PC players who haven't experienced console DBD, imagine bad fps ON TOP OF the killer fov. Yeah, it's bad.
-
Anything that doesn't have the killer on a strict timer or getting stunned a ton is good enough for me. Sadly, game creators are so uncreative on average, that's exactly what it usually turns into.

That's video game physics 101. You're either gonna take fall damage or suffer a stun. Only with a ready-to-use Balanced Landing should you be able to avoid that.

Her red puke refuses to hit people since the update, but besides that she's really good.

Infinitely reusable, team-wide buffs that also destroy hexes? The math doesn't check out.

As a survivor main I dont struggle to 4 k with my main killers (Bubba, Spirit, Nurse, Doctor) most of the time. Thanks tryhard builds.
But even if I have to do a challenge with lower rated killers I am usually able to get at least 2 k even if I am not very used to play them.
In my opionion it was never easier to play killer than since the blight release whre combination of nerfed maps and introduction of ruin-undying came both in clutch, Ds nerf came a few months later.. Even with some smaller nerfs (one time use of undying, pallet city gideon and now the boon perks) the game is WAAAAAAAY more easier to play as killer compared to 2019 or 2018.
It doesn't matter if it seemed easier back then. Killers have a lot more to deal with now. The endlessly chained loops of old Ormond may be gone, but now there's boons, Soul Guard, new Badham, new Coldwind, new Crotus Prenn, Blast Mine, Flashbang, Power Struggle. Survivors are getting smarter, holding W and using medkits only to heal themselves. And killers like Wraith and Spirit which once stood a chance against good teams no longer do.

Yeah but it was reverted
It was originally how it is now then got buffed then changed back but with the silent landing added
Yeah that's confusing and all, but it's still a solid perk, and it doesn't need to be stronger. You should not be getting the benefit of a landing stun reduction while you're still exhausted, contrary to popular opinion. It creates too many loop limitations for future design. We'd either end up with mediocre loops to compensate for the potential OPness of Balanced, or the loops would be straight-up broken like the Haddonfield buildings.

Selective memory. I'm not talking about things which were years ago like infinites (removed in may 2020) or the introduction of entity blockers (2017?)
I suppose you forgot about the consistent recent survivor nerfs like removed window in Myer's house in Haddonfield or removed car pallet on badham. Also reduced distance between window and fence in Badham so you can get hit there now everytime trying to vault this window. These changes werent even mentioned in any patchnotes.
Huge dead zones and stupid RCPD where you can't get from one side of the map to another without crossing the central room with two narrow ways 20 feet away from each other are also in this game for a long time.
Hasn't everybody been complaining how strong maps are for survivor? The god window on Haddonfield needed to go. And Badham's a crazy map too. That window was unsafe anyway. RCPD has enough god pallets to make up for whatever shortcomings you can think of. What's the killer gonna do? Stay in the main hall the whole time?
But compare those minor inconveniences to killers getting nerfed who already had so much counterplay. Spirit, Wraith, DEATHSLINGER?! We need to make more killers be able to compete, not less.
-
You're not wrong, but I would never go into a match without 4 tier 3 perks (that I would normally use) and 2 add-ons. The game isn't balanced around perkless/add-onless killer. You don't even have to play that killer to get perks on them. Just get bp through other killers or survivor, then put it all into them so that you can get your perks/add-ons and be ready for a real match.

@Nathan13 said:
Deathslinger was perfectly fine, and I never saw people complaining about him.
There were complaints though. They said he was "uncounterable" because he could quickscope, when it's obvious by watching anybody play him that unpredictable movement and los blockage worked on him just as much as it did on Huntress or Trickster. They also complained that his TR was smaller, especially when combo'd with M&A. Doctor with his add-ons can do the same thing right now, and nobody bats an eye. So that's how people having one perspective and wanting to balance based on emotions led to this unreasonable killer nerf.
-
I'm not compromising. Before Deathslinger's nerf, he needed buffs. No matter how good you were with him or how many hours you put in, you could never beat top teams while you were using that killer. Now, even disorganized solos can beat him, because he can't be sneaky nor quickscope, which are the only things that made him somewhat of a threat. Experienced players knew how to deal with him, and it showed. The nooby casual players who complained about him before still aren't able to deal with him now. And he could have been a top killer too; one or too more buffs was all it would have taken. This was a pointless, reckless change to a fun and decent killer.

Considering consistent survivor nerfs by removing windows and pallets, decreasing rate of survivor sided maps and on the other hand increased rate of bullshit indoor maps, bottlenecked maps and other maps full of dead zones, I dont think survivors have too much advantage.
Not to say about totally broken killer addons which they bring at about 40-50% of the matches which is more often than survivors with brand new parts, keys or instant heals.
I havent noticed more 4 man escapes than 4 kills than usual.
Selective memory. I suppose you think the removal of infinites and the introduction of entity blocker were "survivor nerfs", not necessary game health changes?

Balanced Landing rip
I use it all the time. People make a mountain out of a mole hill when it comes to that perk's nerf. It's fine now, not broken like before.
-
Whenever they have reverted changes, it's usually because of emotional complaints and not really any legitimate challenge of "This breaks the game! Change it back!"
I wasn't around for instant survivor drops from flashlight saves and pallets saves, as opposed to timing them right, but that sounds like how the game should be. "But it takes the timing, and therefore the skill, out of it." You're talking about skill in an area where there doesn't really need to be skill, just execution. Same thing with DS having a skill check. So if I'm not 'skilled' enough, I deserve to get tunneled? And this one skill check alone determines that? I mean, c'mon. And this is all coming from someone who prefers playing killer, mind you.
The 'new' animations for survivors they had a while back were completely fine to me. "They look weird. They look stupid." You'll get used to them. If they look THAT BAD to you, you're either blinded by nostalgia or can't handle change (this stance does not apply to anything else I say, just the animations). The new animations were way more accurate for showing where exactly the survivor was, instead of their hard-to-track, leaned-over stature with a disorienting turn rate. So survivors also complained that it was harder to perform a 360, and the wiggle, and other movement techs (which work mostly because of the awful killer fov) to make killers miss. And we can't have survivors having an unfair advantage taken away, so the old crappy animations got put back in and they're here to this day.
But everything they've been asked to revert over and over again, because it could literally only help players and make them happier for legitimate reasons, they never bother to revert.
MoM could be reverted. Now that instaheals are gone, it's not a problematic perk.
Nurse getting charges on her blinks, not necessary when her bugs hadn't been addressed and that stopped her from becoming consistently strong. Punished her for using her power. Never got reverted.
Hillbilly changes, universally hated, never got reverted. Overheat mechanic punishes killer for using his power.
Pop getting nerfed to 45 seconds whilst un-nerfed DS still was still 60, and still is. Probably never getting reverted.
Gearhead and new Hangman's Trick getting nerfed from their ptb iterations, non-issue perks that had a small chance to create more variation in killer info perks, never reverted.
Spirit and Deathslinger changes, which only slightly aid low level players and give way more counterplay to high level players which they don't need, getting a lot of hate, probably never gonna be reverted. These killers will be unviable, not able to win at high level.
Surprisingly they haven't reverted MMR, which I'm thankful for. But if they're not gonna balance the game around this new MMR system, they might as well revert it. If they actually reverted stupid changes more often, and used logic in doing so, the game would be in a much better spot.
-
We can't afford to care what survivors think, or play by their rules. It hurts our kill count. We don't particularly enjoy camping either.
-
@pizzaduffyhp90 said:
Personally for me they're both equally awful but, I would say Deathslinger if I had to choose 1 cause his nerf is just a kick in the balls where as Hillbilly at least you can keep momentum with his movement but, the slow aim in for Deathlinger is just god awful I miss the quick scoping days
Deathslinger's is worse. Hillbilly's nerf didn't affect his players' muscle memories, in fact I want to say it made the chainsaw feel more smooth. Deathslinger's delay on his zoom in so painful to get used to. Even when you get used to it I don't think he'll be any good, because even with snap decisions and quick reactions you're not gonna be able to land the shots you were able to before. He's like Huntress now where you can't quick scope at all and instead have to hope the survivors outposition themselves, so that they bob and weave into your sight, then release. If they don't let you do that, you're screwed with him. Absolutely horrendous and unnecessary nerf.

The main buildings and piers are crazy for survivors.

It's ever-changing for me. They outdo themselves constantly. The most annoying teams usually have multiple Unbreakables and DS's.
