  • Their anti-cheat is bad. That's basically all you need to know.

Not everyone has a full 8 people to lobby up with, nor does everyone have the coordination necessary to play well on an 8-man team, people will misplay, not do Generators, run around doing nothing and waste time, it is bound to happen, and it happens a lot.

Like 50-60% of my Survivors games in 2v8 I lose because people just run around like chickens with their heads cut off because nobody wants to do a Generator, and so, we lose. Likewise, as Killer, I win a majority of my games for the same reason.

It's not fair for Killer if we dont have any offense on the side.

Killer has increased regression from kicking Generators, it isnt the best thing out there but I think people underestimate how useful it can be.

If that's your complaint, then ask that MMR be brought into the mode. Don't let killers suffer from a bogus game state just to carry the uncarryables in solo. Most of those survivors have no place escaping these killers.

And that extra regression is like nothing. Survivors just don't push gens, like you said. The moment they actually tap gens after the killer kicks gen and starts chasing/patrolling again, the killer gets like 5 seconds of regression and that's it. The gens truck on.

I was literally in a match on Thompson House where the killers "6-gen'd" us, aka my teammates were dumb and just ignored an entire corner all match, and I was the only 1 (maybe 1 or 2 others who realized) who was going around undoing the regression events, because I could see we were 6-gen'd. Now that the entity blocker prevents regression after 8 kicks, killers can't hold those gens like that anymore. Same reason 3-gens are dead. Survivors don't need that, because they can win through the war of attrition alone, but now they've got that too. Anyway, after minutes of survivors mostly screwing around, half of them wandering around, me and 1 other pushed the furthest gen til finish and allowed everyone else to escape. We coulda been outta there 5 minutes earlier, but because survivors were literally forcing the killers to reap value from their regression, that's not what happened, and it coulda got us all killed.

You sound like a survivor main because of what your temmates not doing that’s not answering my concern of how gen rushing is still a problem. Just because you’re doing gens doesn’t mean the rest of the 7 survivors aren’t doing gens there’s at least 4 people doing gens or less. And there’s 8 survivors so gens still fly by no matter what? Plus I’m not saying you gotta be in a 8 man swf that Involved gen rushing. I play solo on 2v8 and a lot of my teammates do gens pretty fast so I think your excuse in you or matches is not valid. Like I said killers needs more classes than to kick gens that lose 20 percent progress you can only kick gens 8 times before the entity blocks it meanwhile survivors can tap and touch gens anytime they want without no limit

Exactly. This is the same they say for 1v4. "Just because gen speed with an efficient team is game breaking doesn't mean it's common." But it does happen, and that's the problem. Not everything can be written off as being fine because of survivors not playing well on average. If anything, that's our point: The moment survivors know how to play the game, it's a complete group bullying simulator, where the killer is just going through the motions and can't physically stop the survivors.

  • It's a perk designed for SWF to bully the killer with. Solos will just run up to hook with more than half the meter left, blindsiding the person who had STB, and probably costing them their use of it. They do the same thing in regards to We'll Make It, Deliverance, BT, Babysitter, etc. The game is made for SWF and their info.

  • IMG_20180818_205739872.jpg

The game drops on PS Plus, 2018. Played it intermittently, and then sometime in 2019, it became my full-time game basically.

I am usually of the opinion that killers are always disadvantaged; but I have to say that Legion seems to be too strong for 2v8. Ability to see survivors with killer instinct and fast chase speed makes the map essentially even smaller for survivors that it already is in 2v8. I would remove Legion from the game mode..

Nemesis and Wesker have killer instinct. Wraith, Hillbilly, and Blight are fast, and actually down with their powers. So why complain about Legion but not them? If you're arguing for the game to have less content, literally removing a killer from a mode, you'd best have very good reasons.

  • So you don't believe the mode is survivor sided? Great deceptive title.

And I'm just gonna say, all this talk of RPD being killer sided is ridiculous. The entire point of why the map was split in half in 1v4 was because it was too much for the killer to patrol. And even now that halved version is very big and unpatrolable, because it's 2-floored, and the front path to the helicopter crash spawns in both versions. How then, with 8 survivors and all god pallets intact, is the full map too easy for killer, even if there's 2 of them? The map isn't just the square ft. It's got multiple floors, and walls and rooms for killers to navigate, the same broken check spots for survivors, etc. The killers can't simply "lock down" the entire map as you claim. Because if you can argue that here, you could argue that pretty much every map is killer sided.

I get penalties when my breaker flips and shuts the power to my wifi, xbox, and tv. So much fun.

If I don't want to play in a lobby with fools, cheaters, or tunnelers, then I should be allowed to go next and leave the bot. End the penalties

So you're lumping in cheaters with tunnelers as a reason to DC? That basically destroys any argument you make for disabling DC penalties. Can you not see that people being able to DC for free just makes them do it more? Even in winning matches that will then become losses?

  • No! No more disabled DC penalties! It destroys the likelihood of no one DC'ing in solo queue. Isn't that what all the complaints are about?

I get that there's cheaters. Just report them, ask the devs to ban them, and that's all you can do. Nothing good has ever come of free DCs.

    are you ok?

I've played 10 matches today. NINE out of those 10 matches were against Legion.

NOBODY complaining about Legion in 2v8 says that Legion is too strong in this mode. Literally NOBODY.

It is simply BORING and obnoxious to play against match after match in such a cool and fun game mode. It just sucks the fun out of it. Read the room.

If it's not too strong, then what's the deal? How is it boring? You see something so often, I guess you'd better start learning to counter it, don't you think? And everything Legion can do, you can counter it. Killers see DS all the time, play around it, and waste their own momentum for free because of that random match where there wasn't any DS to begin witu. You've got info on all the killer's abilities and his counter for free. If y'all claim to care for fun only, why even care about winning? Why disapprove of the other side's means of having fun?

    It's not just the mending.
The 3s chases and the fact that you can't counter killer instinct in any form also contribute for Legion to be annoying AF.

This is the tired old argument of "the killer can find me, therefore OP." Why? Because you can't hold your own in chase? The killer should* be able to find you, so that the match can progress. You shouldn't be info-immune just because you want to live forever.

And highlighting the chase length hurts your own argument. 🤦‍♀️ Wouldn't a quick killer chase, that results in you not going down, be favorable? What's annoying is also subjective, and shouldn't necessarily be used in balance talks. I think getting stunned over and over again with 30 pallets, and then survivors rebuilding those pallets, is annoying. I call that OP, but I don't say, "Take it away so I don't have to deal with it anymore."

You can say that all you want but I very much doubt Legion will be in the next 2v8, thank god. As they ruin the whole thing and as a medic Legion does render that role redundant. I cannot heal everyone instantly as it is obviously on cooldown and Legion can immediately negate every single heal I did in a matter of seconds since they get essentially free injures.

My opinion isn't an outlier, Legion seems to be almost universally despised (I am sure there are a few who don't care) in this mode and I doubt BHVR will self sabotage the success of this mode in the future, just to include Legion again.

Okay. A killer who injures survivors makes healing redundant. I guess all killers are OP then.

Legion will be in the next 2v8, and I'll prove y'all wrong on him there, too.

  • @SoGo said:

He is low on the list, but Trapper and Legion take the botrom two spots.

If these two get paired up together, the game is basically lost.

Because a healthy person getting trapped and then found is basically an instadown, and is the only redeeming quality to his power, but with Legion they should* be always injured anyway.

  • Y'all say this every time, like it negates that the things you're complaining about will* in fact be nerfed. There's really nothing you can do about this until the change is through, except bring anti-slug. Have you tried that?

  • I've literally seen a survivor bait a zombie's hit, walk up to them and poke them in the nose during their long cooldown, rinse and repeat. That's how weak this killer is.

I've been seeing an increasing number of Singularity players lately. Quite curious to know what players on both sides of the aisle think about this Killer.

    —

Denied Requisition Form (Survivors start infected) appears to be a must-pick for the Killers I've faced. Seems like it provides a strong early game for a Killer already known for a strong late game.

From what I've seen, he is a huge noob stomper.
With perks like Hex: Plaything and Hex: Pentimento, he can slow the mid-game to a painful crawl as Survivors juggle totems, 3D printing, deactivating cameras, and going down in chase quickly (for those unfamiliar with it's power).

Unfortunately, I feel that if I saw this Killer every 3rd of 4th game I would tire of them very quickly. Their lockdown and game delay makes for a dull afair. Counterplay seems to be playing slow and safe.

Exactly right. He's a noob stomper. And that doesn't make a killer meta, even though most people think that it does.

  • He's trash. Even before slugging became popular, the only way you should* have been able to win with him was by slugging. Obviously you can go against noobs and win any way you want, but I'm talking about when all players know what they're doing.

I actually liked playing as him, as I did Hag, but they face the exact same frustrating gameplay loop which makes them the most stressful killers in the game to play. You spend the entire match setting up stuff, spreading injures, using your power, downing, using your power, and then 5 gens have been done when you've got like 3 hooks. Why? Because the survivors got free counters to your power every step of the way. But whereas Hag, you just run into her traps and waste them, Singularity has EMPs. The EMPs are easily the most broken killer-specific items in the game. They cure infection, on you as well as ALL teammates in range, and they disable ALL cameras in range for like a minute, AND both of those are done in the same action, AND they're infinitely respawning. As if that wasn't enough, you lose infection FOR FREE upon being hooked, literally forcing the killer to go for the more effective slugging playstyle.

This has flown way under the radar for way too long. There was a bit of talk about Singularity with the auto-aim that "made him skilless" aka made him accessible to console players (well, there went that), and about his needed add-ons becoming base (while they also nerfed those add-ons, and he still needs them). After that, suddenly everyone stopped talking about, as if he was in a terrific state. He's in a terrible state. Literally the most work ever just to get pressure and downs. I'm shocked you've seen him more than once in a while. Nobody wants to play a killer whose power is designed to be disabled the whole match.

It's not a matter of being good or bad against Legion.
Mending Simulator is annoying AF in EVERY GAME mode.

The "mending simulator" buzz word argument gets so old. Like @sanees says, it's like 6 seconds. Would it still be a mending simulator if it was 1 second? Because at this point it seems like anything with ANY amount of slowdown is considered a "simulator."

the title giving me sanees peak eruption level vibes

Peak Eruption, which with a slight tweak would've been completely balanced. More regression/less Incapacitated, or something like that. Not a complete removal of a status effect that makes the perk. What that perk's nerf really showed us is that people can argue scenarios in a complete bubble, and not have to back it up with anything concrete or refer to high level play.

With old Eruption, the killer's wasting tons of time going around kicking all the gens, giving up free hits in the process. That alone gives survivors the edge they need to win, because the killer simply doesn't have time to do that and still have time to kill everyone. But then what happens is survivors like to be inefficient and throw games, so they don't heal, they do gens slow so that they can even be hit by Eruption, they're hit by it and now can't do anything, and they're injured. It's completely preventable bad situations which survivors blew way out of proportion. They responded to the perk's presence so badly, it allowed even weaker killer players to beat them. Just heal before gens, do the gens quick so it's done before Eruption even hits, and you can even guess, when the killer's chasing an injured person, when your teammate is gonna go down.

People still complain about the perk, because it's gen defence, because it actually does something for the killer. It shows aura too, very bad news for survivors who can't handle a sliver of challenge.

If you don't understand that Legion getting free injures and rendering the entire medic role useless in this mode is a problem, there is literally no point attempting to reason logic with you.

Legion alone is annoying (nobody likes mending constantly) but that is all Legion has in regular matches and they are just an M1 killer with no power after the free frenzy hit - a noob stomper basically.

But if you add this to 2v8 where another killer is in play, this become a massive problem. Period.

Except it doesn't make the medic role useless. This was the same argument made to defend CoH/attack Sloppy, or defend Adrenaline/defend NOED, Schrodinger's perk: the survivor perk is useless because the killer perk counters it, but simultaneously it's a needed perk because it counters the killer perk. And the justification always makes more sense the other way around, the one that takes the killer POV into account. Sloppy was used to slow down ridiculously fast heals because killers injuring people, and then leaving them, no longer mattered. NOED is used to counter the newly healed Adrenaline survivors, because the gens keep getting done no matter what due to injured gen rushers.

So now I'm arguing the same, that Legion counters the medic class, not the other way around. Have you seen how fast people heal when there's no Legion in play? There's like 6 people healthy at all times. If you want to remove Legion, you'd better expect for them to make injuring easier otherwise. But I don't think it will come to that because Legion does not in fact ruin 2v8.

  • @wozza70 said:

Well done to the moderator of this forum to let this genius tell people they are bad for saying legion makes 2v8 rubbish and boring. Or is it 2v6, now 2v7 with rubbish BOTs who do nothing. Feels like BHVR are replicating the 3rd season of Mythic Quest - barely holding on with a limited creative department and just dumb ideas!

It's not against the rules to make a general statement on skill. It's when you get personal, or too many insults/not enough constructive criticism, that it becomes a problem.

The thing that's been happening these past few years is survivors claim a killer's OP, justify it with some vague noob-speak like "He's way too fast!" or "It's impossible to hide against him!", and then the nerf just happens.

This, on the contrary, is telling you step-by-step what to do as a counter. What's being asked seems simple enough to me, and if not then you can always ask what they mean. After that, if you still don't want to learn it or say it's still not enough vs the killer, the only logical option left is to say that "you're bad," or rather that you've got room to improve still.

And I have no idea what Mythic Quest is. You might want to find a more known equivalent for your comparison to work.

  • @CornMoss said:

I have played 8 matches against legion now and constantly I am seeing survivors full mending while they are still in their power, pre-dropping pallets instead of baiting and not tanking hits for healthy teammates.

Stop complaining about a killer you have no idea how to play against! It has to be at least 50% of the players I am matched with that do this which probably includes you if you complain about them.

If you just don't like legion in general just say that but keep this in mind though, he's easy to go against so what does that say about yourself as a survivor if you are struggling to face them?

I will say there are issues with 2v8 such as how survivor IS boring, they need to make it more interesting for us and there are many ways to do so.

The bar is just set really low these days, for what survivors need to do to win. So when a killer like Legion comes along who takes a mere semblance of strategy or brainpower to beat, everyone loses their minds. I'll concede to them that knowing to body block his power or 99'ing your mend is a bit high level, but anyone can be good at pallet stun timing with a bit of practice. They can't even do that.

They don't understand to stay injured vs him either, because spending 30 seconds to heal per person, and then him re-injuring you in 2 seconds is clearly giving him max value on his power. So stop doing. I know it's a bit more complex in 2v8 because you're now injured vs a second killer, but if Legion is going around mostly injuring instead of downing, there's still 8 of you, and you're going against 1.5 of a killer instead of 2, and Legion is M1.

  • Cool. I like the idea of a killer who has 3 obsession perks. Technically we had that with Myers already, but I wouldn't mind seeing that again.

this argument is literally on the level of BHVR's decision to completely destroy Skull Merchant as an attempt of damage control in order to actually make community go quiet on her until she gets properly reworked and rebuffed again (not soon lol), and is quite literally looking at the aspect of game health from quite an one-sided perspective.

These strategies are insanely unfun to go against, so they shouldn't be encouraged, not like they are now.

splitting gens is also very unfun to face, Boil Over and sabo strats are also very unfun to face, yet sabo was buffed for example.

If these nerfs are done right, it will create a much better foundation for the game. And then, the killers that will start struggling too much, can definitely be buffed in more healthy ways as well. So I am very hopfeful that BHVR will implement proper anti-tunneling, anti-camping and anti-slugging changes to bring this game into a much better fundamental state.

anti-camping, anti-tunneling and anti-slugging perks are insanely strong right now. There is no healthy way to nerf camping, tunneling and slugging at the moment because killer's main objective, hooking, is already on dead legs.

Doing any kind of straight up nerf and then waiting to see how things will go over time to see what buffs killers should receive as compensation is literally extremely irresponsible thing to do.

All pof these strats are still meta because average player has no intention to ever learn the counterplay. Do you think they would be so popular if people using them noticed it doesn't yield success to them nearly as often as they think it does? Of course not.

Yes, I must reiterate that anti-tunnel slug perks are insanely powerful. People don't understand how much momentum you lose by being hit by just 1 of them. "I had this survivor dead to rights, but then I got stunned and now have to re-chase to kill them, or else I've just wasted a chase." "I had the whole team down, after all 4 went down in 45 seconds, but 1 person got up and now they've fully reset." I can't even think up the survivor equivalents to these situations, because they'd be too ridiculous.

I also notice that when killers get nerfed, they get nerfed, overall weaker than before. But when survivors get nerfed, 95% of the time it's an even exchange, if not more. Like look at the Buckle Up change. Not only can you still do the Buckle Up/FTP combo by using WGLF/Made For This instead, but what Buckle Up got changed to is literally giving a Sprint Burst WITH no exhaustion. Or when they changed DH from being a free distance perk to one that gave a sprint burst for even more distance than before. But killers using strategy and conserving STBFL stacks with their M2? "Overpowered." That's why simply hitting a survivor with Deathslinger's chain, or simply infecting a survivor with Nemesis, now loses you stacks.

Or we can look at buffs. When they changed Resurgence from 50% auto-healed to 70% just to counter the possibility of Hemorrhage-using killers. Well, what about the killers who don't use it? The survivor gets healed to full seconds after they've got off hook. But when Mangled/Hemorrhage themselves got nerfed, it went from basically infinite duration and long duration to almost nothing. 90 seconds of Hemorrhage doesn't matter when the hook state alone is 70 seconds. You can see the double standards so clearly.

And you're right on who is really being catered to: the people who don't even want to learn or think. Someone was dying on a hill saying, "Every killer in the game has a clearly observable power, but Skull Merchant's is impossible to figure out even to experienced players." Apparently reading the killer's power description, which you can do without buying them, or looking up gameplay is too much work for people. Almost every game I've played, I've seen gameplay of before I bought it, or playing the game got me to watch someone else's gameplay. The level of effort, that's being called "too much" to learn killers and their counterplay, is less than even CoD at this point. Why are the devs working so hard to even the playing field with those players specifically in mind? They shouldn't be able to beat really good killers, as they nearly are able to now, because they literally don't care.

  • @ad19970 said:

No, because they'll do what they've done before and say that "any killer buff is a buff to tunneling/camping." We'll get nerfed and get nothing in return.

Well we waited for at least 4 years for them to balance nurse, then we waited for 3 years for them to balance blight. Killers waited 2 years for them to balance overpowered maps such as Badham Preschool and Eerie Crows. How long do we need to wait? They released a HUGE post saying we are going to fix long standing issues within a game and mentioned NOTHING about the balance. Are you sure its worth waiting?

Blight wasn't balanced. He had fine add-ons nerfed because PC flicks made him too strong, and that's still in the game. So all they did with that was nerf console killers.

Badham and Eyrie have in no way been fixed. It's almost a guaranteed loss on those maps for killer. That's how behind the times you are.

I will wait for these changes because they could be good, and when there's been so many bad ones, it's something to look forward to.

  • @whoisit said:

Hi everyone, i wanted to share my thoughts on upcoming changes presented by developers. I have 9000 hours, tournament experience and have been playing this game almost continuously since 2016

    Go next prevention

    What does go next imply?

    1. Short chase, meaning short time span between two hits
    2. Kobeing from hook
    3. Failing skill checks on 2nd stage

Firstly, i wanted to give you some recent examples of teammates going next.

    1. Yui was playing on Lery Map and was in a chase vs Pyramid Head. She got downed quickly from his ability and died. She then killed herself on hook. The question i have is: was she given enough by the game itself to counter Pyramid Head? What survivors have right now are windows and pallets, both are countered by his ability
    2. Survivor was trying to save me from hard camping Nurse. She kicked a gen next to me, revealed him with perk nowhere to hide. Quickly downed him and left to slug him and camp me in the meantime. Was it his misplay? Or were it developers giving killers an ability to reveal location of survivors in sometimes very dire situations?
    3. Huntress took Midwich map offering with addons: iri head+fox (basically she has no terror radius all game, 1 hatchet that insta downs). She found a random, instadowned him (using the perk revealing survivors aura by opening lockers) and then random killed himself

The question i have is: were these players given enough resources to work with and counter killer strategy? Can we assume that they 'went next' because they are toxic ruining players and should be punished for it. To me it seems that the issues the game currently has are mostly caused by the lack of balance and developers ignoring how overpowered some of the perks and killers are! There are overpowered killers as nurse, blight and billy. Overpowered perks like nowhere to hide, dead man's switch, scourge hook pain res, addons. Unbalanced maps! You want to remove map offerings, fine they do skew balance towards some sides. But, how will survivors play on Borgo maps? Yamaoka maps? Coldwind farm maps? Badham preschool map is so overpowered for survivors yet no changes for two years! You want to force survivors to play matches where they are already in a disadvantage and then blame them for such behavior.

If you are worried about survivors having an ability to kill themselved and go next perhaps you should remove this mechanics right away. What is the point of skill checks on 2nd stage? What is the point of giving survivors a change to unhook equal to 4%? What to do instead:

    1. Unhooking yourself is allowed only if it is guaranteed: 4%, deliverance, wicked
    2. Hitting skill checks on second stage grants you survival points, failing them does not shorten hook stage and does not get you killed

This way no one gets even an opportunity to throw a game, aside from dropping pallets and failing skill checks on generators. What can you do if survivors try to sabotage the game by doing something inappropriate? Introduce behaviour score system. Failing each skill check, dropping a pallet while not in a chase (or close to killer), not repairing generators etc, figure it out yourselves, result in reduced behavior score. Additional reports reduce behavior score. If it falls under certain threshold introduce BP earning penalty and longer queue times.

Glad they added the downvote thing so I can just break neutral, and pick neither. I agree that we need to stop the constant giving up, like taking away the self unhook attempts and 2nd stage skill checks. I don't agree with punishing players for simple things like failing skill checks or dropping pallets out of chase.

It was fluke, they didn't prepare or anything and just tried to figure it out during the game. Next game would be easy for them, because they would just not heal and play safe (prerun) to break 3-gen.

But it was an issue, because playing her was way easier than playing against it. So breaking her 3-gen was near impossible for soloQ.

I don't think it would be that big issue now, because all those perks are gutted/nerfed and gen kicking is limited.

They didn't even try to prepare. They KNEW it would be a 3-gen match, and they still gave her one for free. And when they actually gave her a free down in her 3-gen and then she went to hook them, no flashlight save, no gen rushing, just standing around and barely getting back to the gens.

But how can you agree with that and then say she's still the problem? It wasn't impossible to break her 3-gen as a solo. Push the 2 furthest, hold forward at the first sight/sound of her, and she can't be in 2 places at once. You could even push 3 gens at once if all 4 are still alive. And this was when they had gen tapping still, mins you. Skull Merchant was waaay overblown, and was ultimately still an M1 trash killer. They just complained because it took teamwork and effort to beat her, and they wouldn't even read what her power did. Just DC'd until they faced an easy killer.

The 8-kick limit now and the instant gen tapping back then function the same way, making it more trouble than it's worth for the killer to kick the gens. Those perks weren't even problems because they were countered by gen tapping. You could put them back in as they were at their peak, right now, and they wouldn't be meta defining. It really takes facing good survivors a killer to get any of this stuff, and I don't think most people have done that, so they don't get it.

  • I had forgotten about that mechanic, probably because it's the same as the useless report button (unless you do the whole separate process as well). I kind of just admit to myself, "That player really knew what they were doing." because there's an ocean of players who don't, who I usually get put with. If they can help beat a Freddy, Wraith, Ghost Face, or Legion (who get 4ks for some reason sometimes), that's a good player. If they help beat a decent Blight, Nurse, or Wesker, that's a great player. But mostly I'm looking for gen efficiency. You don't have to heal every time, unless you're using We'll Make It or Resurgence.

Uhm don't hate me for this, but I feel like it's neither sided and just kinda ######### for both parties

Kind of agree. Killer is almost always a sweat fest, and so is solo survivor depending on your time of day. But SWF has always been easy, and has never received a single nerf.

    @Clevarz said:

Also you kinda DCed alot and that can all come down to just skill level not to be mean

    Fair.

  • It is as survivor sided as we say. You just don't see it in a mismatch, which this MMR system thrives on. I mean, how do you even go from Wraith slowing gens over and over to a Huntress who doesn't know she has hatchets... within 2 matches of each other? 1 sounds efficient with smart perks, and the other sounds like they don't have a clue. That's not even close to consistent skill level. The entire point of MMR is consistency, putting you with players your own level depending on how much you win/lose.

And another thing highlighted here is the DC culture, even with the killers. If the match is as hopeless as you think, won't the opponent just beat you in the next minute or 2? Why not play it out, get your BP, and maybe you'll even win?

I don't think they're catering to the killer sided. They throw crumbs. I've seen too many posts of people picking up killer for the first time, or a killer they've never played, and instantly get put against impossible odds. Yet others claim that the role takes no brain power, and that you CAN just start playing killer and get endless 4ks. Somebody's lying. I've seen some silliness in my time, like the complaints against Windows supposedly being OP, but I tend to give benefit of the doubt to the killers. They're cynical about every update that comes out that could potentially help the survivors, because the base formula of the game already favors them. They physically don't have enough time.

The killer cannot be in 4 places at once. The instances where they they're pressuring 2 people or even the whole team should be few and far between. There should always be at least 1 survivor on a gen. M1 killers, whether it's Wraith, Doctor, Pig, Clown, Pinhead, Singularity, should be easy for you to beat. You don't have to heal, unless the killer's like really good at chasing to where you need 2 chances, so you can push gens while injured. You should know the check spots at loops like shack, TLs, and long walk jungle gyms which have basically no mindgame for the killer to use. Bring smart perks which speed up your objective, which buy you time/waste the killer's time, and which counter popular strategies. Do all of that, or some of it, and you basically can't lose. I don't know how teams just get overwhelmed by what little the killer can do. Actually, I do know, and it's called mismatches, good killers being put against bad survivors. Experience enough matches like that, and anyone would be convinced killer is OP.

Game never recovered after changing survivor movement animations, it marked the beginning. It just keeps getting worse and worse. I miss goofy pre-MMR DBD.

Yeah, they used to be hunched over and scared. Now they're standing/staring defiantly at the killer like Superman. They should've gone though with changing the survivor running animation, so 360s could be harder, less bullying noobs. But bullying is something that's valued in this game, so they scrapped that change.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

I feel like they should just do this with the automatic server shutdown just tweak it and lower it to 30 minutes

They'd probably do that, and then say that the game ending that way automatically equates to the survivors escaping, like they did in Friday The 13th, making time-outs a win condition for survivors.

  • @I_CAME said:

More fun. It's part of why I like 2v8 so much. There may be MMR in theory but it all goes out the window due to long queue times. Makes the matches so much less sweaty and more enjoyable overall.

Which is why it makes no sense when people say, "2v8 is so sweaty because Legion and Blight are there!" when those killers clearly aren't playing to their full potential either. And that's a lesson to be learned about the game in general. A killer getting a buff to deal with high level survivors won't suddenly make him do that much better at low level.

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

    Did you like it better?

Was it just a free-for-all? Any skill levels just thrown together based on region?

A lot less sweaty, except when they were, because it was basically loads of mismatches. The killer would chase 1 person for 2 minutes, and 1 gen might get done. Survivors would always heal, because they knew they had time. Things like that.

  • @turksmall236 said:

Killers can queue up with the intention of slugging all 4 survivors just to get them to surrender and end the match, thus wasting everyone's time. SWFs can do the same with plot twist and no mither.

Survivors can bypass AFK crows by dropping and picking up their item repeatedly, so an aura read that can't be countered by distortion should be implemented. Please keep this in mind BHVR.

Just because the killer has the intention of doing that doesn't mean they will. If that were the case, I'd wish for a 4k every time and get it. Killer is not near as powerful as you're implying, where they're like, "I'm just gonna slug and get a 4k/surrender" and no matter what the survivors do, that result will just happen.

The devs need to make item interactions not reset the AFK. That's all they need to do to fix that.

  • They're fine to cut down on content a bit every now and then. Unless you're someone who plays the game all day, they pretty much run you ragged with all the tomes, dailies, and events. As soon as 1 tome or event ends, another begins 5 days later.

Sadly main reason I'm on console is my hands can't take the wear and tear of a keyboard and mouse anymore...

So there will still be at least one scrub getting spin teched every 15s... 😭😭😭

And that's something that's majorly wrong with the game. You should never be able to move or spin faster as survivor, at point-blank range, than the killer can even react to. No other game makes melee attacking this difficult. You would just give the player a more generous hitbox, instead of a baseball sized one.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

Keyboard and mouse on consoles might cause large killer nerfs.

You want a hot take? Console killers have been dragging down the average killer winrates for years, because trying to play killer on a controller is hot trash.

For example, when the official killer stats said Blight had a 59% kill rate, was it really a 59% kill rate? Or was it something like 65% PC kill rate and 50% console kill rate?

If enough of the console users change to mouse and keyboard, will it raise the kill rates enough that large killer nerfs would need to be added to the game?

I'm not gonna connect a mouse and keyboard to play console DBD. I might switch to PC one day, but I'd rather they just make the console controls functional like every other game does.

She used to be my main, so I am really annoyed by her current state…

What do you think of the "1-hour Skull Merchant vs best survivor team in world" match? Legit top level match, or just a fluke? I lean towards the latter.

  • @PetTheDoggo said:

Because of QoL updates it is unlikely she will be changed any time soon.

    They really did her dirty…

Yeah, that was BHVR's lowest point, when they legit just said, "Overnerf and put away to deal with later."

  • I don't think they're gonna nerf DS. They did so much work on that numbers change, buffing it to 4 seconds when it was overpowered at 3, they won't soon undo it.

And I know people will knock on the Babysitter take, but they're not seeing the full picture. Just because it's not as used as DS or OTR doesn't mean it's not ridiculous. Like he said, you're literally running faster than the killer and get Lucky Break for 30 seconds. That's abusable by SWF, who are more likely to use it than solo because they can communicate/dedicate an unhooker. It consistently being given to the unhooked probably makes it better than OTR.

But that's mostly all I can say. We know the game doesn't need more anti-tunnel, but maybe it'll end up replacing the bad system we have now.

  • Whatever benefit that gives them, it doesn't change the fact that hexes suck. Someone can spot them and take them out 30 seconds into the match, and they're not even that strong.

  • I haven't seen this kind of outrage at a planned update since 6.1.0, the best patch ever at the time. I think a lot of people need to admit they don't like change, because a lot of these changes are super beneficial and super asked for. I guess because it's too much in too little time? But that's the exact opposite complaint the devs need to be hearing. Before this, we complained that they weren't doing enough, or that they took forever to do it! Some people just don't know what they want.

Most people (survivors and killers) are playing 2V8 for some goofy fun and to get away from the sweatiness that is the current base game. The fun from playing Killer in this mode is having a mate to hunt with you which significantly reduces the stress of playing killer by yourself. likewise it’s a more chill experience with the survivors having the most basic perks and passive abilities that bring the experience back down to a vanilla, tag like experience.

However solely throwing in killers who were designed to deal with the ever growing meta of the base game into this mostly vanilla sided survivor mode makes this game mode just as sweaty as the base game and one sided.

Disagree. If 1 killer can be adapted for this mode, all of them can be. A lot of the complaints against these killers like Wraith and Legion are coming from really casual folks, like they can't even run a basic M1 killer, even with all these pallets. Can't really explain it otherwise. Good survivors have no issues vs these killers in 1v4. Their performance does not drastically shoot up just because they're in 2v8 now.

The issue here is that gen regression was required. You change out one perk for a stealth perk? Gens will go faster, giving you less value out of your stealth perk as the game is now shorter, not to mention all the stealth perks in the game are easy to call out. Aura reading? So I can watch those survivors across the map complete a gen instead of using pain resonance to delay it's completion potentially long enough that I can just go and kick them off it myself instead?

The issue isn't that killers aren't bringing perks to help them where they're lacking (They are, most of the roster lacks gen regression), its that the line between "Does nothing" and "Overpowered" is so thin now that the one perk, with no changes, can be both at the same time. Speaking as a xeno main whose primary form of "gen slowdown" is absolute aggression in chases and getting quick downs, it's just not enough. Even throwing a regression perk on just leads to gens being done faster than I can proc regression.

This is true. You down these people like nothing, almost the quickest chases you can possibly do, and it just doesn't amount to anything. You'd need to be a good Nurse to keep up, and I'm just not gonna do that. I'm not saying I should be able to win all the time with a bottom 3 killer, but at this point you could make an argument that X killer is bottom 3... for most killers. I've gotten really quick downs with killers like Demogorgon, Nemesis, Unknown, Xenomorph, etc, and it's always a frustrating uphill battle no matter what.

I stopped using gen defence as well, except the occasional Corrupt, Deadlock, or Pain Res, and these gen defence perks are currently built off the assumption that you're getting max value from them every time, when we know that's never gonna be the case. You could take a free instant down, but then you're a 3-perk killer from Corrupt. You could get a Pain Res when you think you really needed it, and it hits a gen that was at like 10%, wasting it. And really, I started running Brutal Strength, Fire Up, and Agitation in some of my builds, because the bar for killer perks has just sunk that low. Those perks may provide as much value or more value as Pop/Pain Res, or NOED, or Spirit Fury/Enduring. Think about that. Recently I've been experimenting with Pain Res, No Way Out, and Remember Me, and it actually buys enough time to where you can eek out a draw or a pity kill, or possibly get the 4k at the end. Very promising.

You can fix that problem by nerfing tunnelling, without aiming for a 100% winrate for killers.

Seriously, if you're begging for a 100% winrate, just play custom games against bots. Or play something else. I hear Civilisation is pretty popular.

Strawman. Nobody's asking for a 100% win rate. I have heard that we should play something else though, like Civilization.
