  • They have said that they won't directly take ideas or concepts from fans or the forums, but if it inspires them down the road that's ok.

  • Oh my god this is monsoon season for bugs.

  • @DoctorShockBoi said:

Nurses blinks can bug out, preventing you from using the second blink.

Occurs more when using a 3rd blink.

This is a bug that's been in the game for years, it's gotten much worse since DS and her rework. Unless it got even worse after this update I don't think this is relevant.

  • We've been called crazy for wanting a long time of no patches for a long overdue code rework.

Now look at the state of DbD.

  • I don't know if anyone's mentioned it but that Spies from the Shadows bug has been around for a long time. In fact ever since I started using it it's had that "feature"

Plus according to the LDBD discord, oni isn't getting any lore for this one.

    @Elena said:

Nurse and Yui are the only ones getting lore though, so that sucks

Oh that's a bummer for Oni players.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

"usually"? This happened exactly once, with Doctor.

    Oh true. Here's hoping lol.

  • I agree there is definitely something missing when it comes to prestiging. I've been playing for hundreds of hours and have only ever bothered with it once because I don't want to spend hundreds of games clearing out their addons/items/offerings so when they prestige it wasn't wasted x3 and then x the entire cast.

If we got to keep items or addons or something when it happened so you didn't waste so much or feel like you had to grind just to get value out of it.

Devs don't care, people have been asking them to fix that for years, they're never going to do it.

At this point I'd settle for "We know it exists and we can't/don't want to fix it."

At least it would give me closure.

As an old Nurse main I know what you're talking about when you can't use your second blink that's caused from dedicated servers. I mean playing Nurse in 2020 is a far fetch. Her design is outdated and it's proven by the devs, when it comes to new/reworked maps they don't take the Nurse's ability into consideration example pre-patched Midwich and PTB reworked Bloodlodge.

Also having no ability as the slowest killer is a game balance issue not a bug issue (:

For the most part I don't have a problem on the newer maps except the dead zone areas. But yeah they completely ignore her when considering maps and it sucks :(

As for the slowest killer being a balance issue, I actually disagree there. The game is balanced around the slowest a killer will be is Hag speed. Nurse is the exception because she's so strong, even if they do include addons to nullify her power. They don't expect you to ever be chasing someone at that speed without some sort of compensation, whereas they're ok with you chasing people all day at Huntress speed.

  • @xEcoLog1cDuk3Xx said:

It's more a personal issue than a game issue. Its a bug but nothing game breaking.

I assure you it can be quite game breaking. It will sometimes prevent you from double blinking or outright stop you from blinking period. Does becoming the slowest killer in the game without a power sound not game breaking to you?

That's just one of her many bugs. We could seriously get an entire patch dedicated to her bugs alone and we'd still probably have some left over. But we do need that one day BHVR :/

  • @DaKnight said:

Didn't even watch the video. 5 minutes? That's not a record for the nurse. It has been done faster, unrecorded, somewhere.

This is extremely funny considering if you actually watch the video she explains the match was 2m51s and not 5 minutes.

Yh of course its only ruin. Ruin has one fatal weakness, its gone when you need it. Thats why nobody used it before undying.

And undying gives more than a 50%. It gives at the minimum ruin double the time to last (2 Totems to cleanse) and it can go up to 500%.

+ Killer could defend there totems better with the aura reading, but most dont even try to defend

Dont get me wrong ruin with undying is not a free win, but it helps you more than any other perk at most killer

The possibility that Undying can be cleansed first and then Ruin is a common scenario and one where Undying did nothing. Because that is such a common possibility and both perks can be removed by survivors the reward it gives even the best killers is pretty balanced tbh.

Killer perks are balanced around RNG and the possibility of being strong or completely and utterly useless. This combo just makes that slightly better. Still just another layer of RNG. I won't sacrifice another perk just to have Ruin up slightly longer when that other perk could help me get a down on a survivor faster while Ruin is up increasing the value out of my loadout significantly.

  • @batax90 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1779216#Comment_1779216

Its not really a win more combo the amount of time ruin get cleanse before my first chase is stupid. But you are right the combo reward you for applying pressure

I suppose you're right it's not a win more it's more consistency. Still not that powerful when all one of the perks adds is more time. Yes I say this realizing time is the single most important thing a killer has in a match.

    @TicTac said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1779216#Comment_1779216

It helps to get value out of pressure. When you have normally so much pressure, you need to slow down bc of ds. With ruin all gens are atleast at zero, after the survivor reset.

And not wasting time kicking gens makes target switch so much better.

The problem i have with it is the value in comparison to other perks. I dont want to think the best choice would be to use ruin/undying similar to old ruin.

That's all Ruin and the killer though. All Undying did was give Ruin 50% chance at lasting longer. Survivors can still completely counter the combo by just doing a generator or taking out totems. Both can be permanently disabled by survivors.

  • @Yung_Slug said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1779216#Comment_1779216

To be fair, the other hex perk is guaranteed to last at least one totem longer.

Still, pretty annoying that devs consistently nerf perk synergy on killers but DS + Unbreakable is fine.

That's fair, but it's only a 50% chance a useful perk stays, because without the other hex undying has next to no use or purpose.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

I miss Nurse before her rework. Get rid of her old add ons but I want the blink CD removed.

Yeah I wish they would've just done an addon pass first then changed her power if they really felt the need.

Or god damn at least give us useful/not bugged to hell addons. 4 addons being useable and the rest being trash tier is such a failure of a "rework"

  • I really don't understand the problem people have with it. It feels more like a 'win more' combo than it does one that helps you.

It does nothing if you can't apply pressure, and if you could apply pressure you probably didn't need the undying to get similar or same value

one of the perks literally just reveals those close to totems and recycles a hex with a 50% chance

If 50% of a killers loadout to have a 50% chance to have 1 hex perk stay longer than normal is OP boy do I have a lot of survivor perk combos to ban for you.

We can't have nice things because bhvr doesn't want to have nice changes. They make changes which make killer boring to play, and then they refuse to make significant changes in closing the gap between solo and swf.

I really want to main survivor but the glaring disadvantage of not playing in an swf is terrible. That reminds me why I main killer, but then I play against object or key squads in a row. That reminds me why I want to play survivor, and so it begins. It's like an endless cycle of torment trying to play this game.

Yeah some times I walk away after just a single game wondering why I even bothered to boot it up.

You are essentially saying gender bending a creation is something that should happen. What if (and try to follow me here) the person who created the character doesn't give a damn about your need to accessorize the male killer with dresses and female killers in slacks? Maybe the creatives want to make scary things scary and not try to make them into a fashion runway project? Palate swap sure, things fitting the lore (clown's birthday party elephant or legion's rave kid bunny suit) fine, but some sick need to make character that are firmly one way male or female into some confusion you might have is just ridiculous. These psychopaths are killing people not having a gender crisis.

You seem a little high strung there mate. It's a game. I want ######### cosmetics for characters. If it affects you that much you need to distance yourself from the game.

    @[Deleted User] said:

That's kinda Legion already in a way....

I don't think so though overall other than that. The reason being because the gender is part of the character, part of their backstory, part of literally their identity.

I dunno, I am okay with it though myself, I just don't see it happening is all.

I'm not asking we change their character, a skin is literally just cosmetic and it only affects the lore of the game to hardcore people who can't separate the monetization of a game and it's own interest in itself. My BF is the same way he hates lore breaking skins for games no matter how cool or funny or interesting they are (Dunkmodan anyone?) I get that but when we have a skin like Elephant Clown is there really all that much care for preserving the lore and not just exploring interesting cosmetic ideas?

  • @RaSavage42 said:

Lore wise it would be easy to make a genderbent (if <that's how it's spelt)

A male Huntress (Hunter)- A bassy Lullaby (I want to hear it)

A female Clown- hmm... sure why not

A male Spirit- Lore would still be sad

Imagine Lori and Micky switch- That would be cool (I think anyway)

Female Oni- Great (x6) Grandma coming at you cause you didn't eat your veggies (LOL... had to)

Honestly I can write out the lore for it... I think it would be fun.... @coppersly

I wouldn't be against it as an off main Hag. I don't like killers who camp as a survivor, and camping a hook as any killer is pretty boring even if you can just teleport back to it.

That being said, I do love the MYC + Mint Rag combo. It's incredibly fun but also incredibly risky for the Hag player. One wrong move and suddenly you're across the map on a 15 second cooldown :(

Imagine caring about the genitals of a demented monsterous killer... hilarios people live in this world.

I get this point of view, I do. But that's not what this is about. I want them to be able to explore skins that otherwise wouldn't work on the killer in their original form. Having a different sex opens up more options for cool skins, especially with the legendary skin idea. Yeah you can wear whatever clothes on whatever gender you want but it's a game and the skins are a little more rigid than our understanding of gender and sexuality.

Tinkerer: penalizes the survivor for doing the objective and rewards killer for doing nothing. A perk that not only gives an audio cue, emits a bright glow on the screen telling the killer WHERE TO GO, and switches off the terror radius so you can get a free hit. I can't believe this perk exists. On a high mobility killer, it is not possible to beat this perk unless you are in strong coordination. Also Imagine a 3 gen situation. It needs nerfing badly. I don't think the devs care, their trend is to continue making it easier and easier for killers and put survivors in no-win situations.

I often see survivors (who are sharp) notice by the 2nd or 3rd gen usually, they start to run away from the gen right after it triggers Tinkerer, often making it by the time I show up they're hidden. It's not unbeatable but it is difficult.

You'd think that, but I cannot count the number of times I've charged a blink on the other side of the wall and people still don't know/care and I get a juicy grab... (if the game allows it and doesn't give them a free escape)

  • Oh Blight is the one people associate with Tinkerer because he can travel fast but everyone is sleeping on Nurse who's been doing it better through walls since before Tinkerer was changed.

Where is her respect and outcry with Tinkerer

I've been running it on her since the change and no one has had an issue with it until now, just because there's another hex that has a 50% chance to extend ruin a little bit?

Legion's ability synergizes with bloodlust. Hillbilly gains from bloodust as he is able to make curves with it better, same with leatherface.

Spirit deathslinger and huntress have ways to determine skill.

Bloodlust will certainly pad a player's stats. It's true that it affects killers differently, but that's the problem, it's a wildcard variable.

Not really, if you're constantly relying on it that's 15+ seconds every single chase, and over the course of the game that will add up if the survivors aren't potatoes. Sure it will help noobs and against weaker survivors but that's not really what an MMR system will flush out, anyone who does rely on it is low elo most of the time anyways, MMR with or without Bloodlust doesn't change that since actually good survivors will curb stomp any killer relying on Bloodlust for every chase.

How do u do it with Myers or Blight, what about Wraith or Hag? Are u just going to add or remove the breast depending of the sex? don't think so.

So yeah, i would love to see it, but someone needs to think it through to make it look cool.

Well I did say where applicable. Obviously it would be impossible or completely crazy to try and do one for Demogorgon. But it would be cool for those that can. We already have Old Lady Bubba.

Not sure if they're interested in just making them the other gender though.

If they do, it will probably come with a whole re-design as well, instead of only re-designing the character to look like the other gender.

That's understandable. They could do it like Paladins did and make that specific skin have it's own unrelated or semi-related lore and be a designed piece that is more than just them in a different sex.

    @Nobsyde said:

it would be a very interesting and inclusive idea.

The only problem is that killers (and survivors) do have a lore, meaning that the only way to change the gender with a skin would be to add the gender transition in-lore, which is a very sensitive subject.

They tackled the possible gender swap with the Legion, but while it was a great idea, most "serial killers" work alone, and that's why it will be difficult to replicate.

Not really though. They could always just use the "it's another version of the character from a different universe" route, or just make the skins own set aside lore. There's ways to do it without actually making every character transsexual.

Tinkerer is actually part of the meta right now, along the Ruin/Undying combo.

Still an amazing perk by itself.

Oh god I never thought I'd see the day where my Tinkerer is meta. What a strange year we are in.

  • Tinkerer. It was always semi-useful back in the day but when they reworked it I loved the idea of knowing when a gen was about to pop and getting to be sneaky on approach was just the cherry on top. I knew it would be amazing on someone like Nurse who can already surprise you on a gen without any help, and now I know what gen to go to and I can be right on the other side of the wall and they won't know it.

    Beautiful.

  • @CustomerService said:

It is an extremely boring combination. As a survivor playing with randoms, you maybe complete 2 gems or break 3 totems before everyone is dead.

As a killer, they never repair more than 1 gen before I kill everyone.

I don't get why everyone is playing the combo up like it's unbeatable. It's not old Ruin. You literally just have to commit to gens and the combo does nothing.

Also if such a weak and easily counterable combo is so boring to face what do you think it's like to face x4 DS, DH, BT, SB, etc... every game? I'm not trying to say you're a survivor main or anything but this mild combo that can be disabled by survivors or outright ignored is nothing compared to a lot of perks survivors have that killers always have to worry about each game even if no one is running it and most of them are either much harder to counter or outright can't be countered.

I don't think Victor should down a survivor if he's on the survivor for a certain period of time. I get why people make that suggestion, but Victor is decent for slowdown. I don't think keeping victor on you is that beneficial for survivors. I feel like when Charlotte doesn't have Victor, she should have access to a different power. Something that helps with chase. (Kind of like how Pig has her ambush and the ability to kill her terror radius). Maybe instead of having victor cause the oblivious status effect (Keep blindness!), Charlotte has no terror radius while Victor is attached to a survivor? I don't know. Just a thought. (Maybe Victor could emit a terror radius instead)

Not sure what they could do with Victor's greatest weaknesses though. I don't think he should be able to be punted after a successful hit. As for lockers... it'd be cool if he could maybe keep the locker shut for maybe 10 seconds or something like that.

I agree she should have something else while Victor is on someone.

And it's not that keeping him is necessarily beneficial for survivors, it's that her power is so easily controlled by survivors and not by the killer. After you latch on to someone you're locked out of anything but m1. Not engaging or interesting in the slightest to me but eh.

Really hope they do something though an m1 killer that can injure but not down with their power and have it completely stolen from them is not exactly a great release.

It does however not work for the chainsaws.

If that's true and not a bug then it will be a must run on those killers. I'm thinking Hag might have some use for it too to help with post-teleport lunges.

    @Mr_K said:

The Nurse's post-blink lunge is the same as her non-blinking lunge. This was changed a long time ago to be more inline with other killers lunge speed curve. I expect the Nurse's lunge to break if the Dev's decide it was not intended and try to "fix" it.

It would make sense but considering she's always been coded like spaghetti and it feels like there's a timer independent of other things for her blink window so it could like you say just straight up break her if they didn't plan on it lol.

Everyone’s brain is different and some Survivors are really, really, really strange. Just don’t get too frustrated by making wrong reads and you’ll do fine. Letting yourself get in your own head and tilt is the easiest way to throw the game

Also as you learn her you'll figure out what playstyle on her you like and what perks will compliment that. But before you even do that I'd try using a lot of different perks to experiment because some perks are usually worthless or barely beneficial but become monstrously good on Nurse due to her unique ability. Nurse can only blink 32 meters with perfectly charged blinks. So she still wouldn't reach a survivor with base kit blinks even if they were only 40 meters away. For me, shadowborn makes it ten times easier to play her, because I can see where they go on fatigue much easier, but thats not even the reason I use it. See, the reason that shadowborn is the best perk on her, is because it fixes most to all fps issues with her. I'm on ps4, so I cant even play nurse without shadowborn. I'll lag so much in my blinks that I'll be lucky to even get a hit.

I consistently hit people that are still visible from BBQ and the only addons I use are the recharge ones.

As for lag that sucks but what an unexpected fix for it.
