  • Nah, I was playing Nemesis a lot today and the tentacle feels so tiny. I'm not sure the hitbox is too small, I just think it's a weird clunky ability to get used to because it has this delay between when you press to use it and when it actually registers to hit the survivor. Besides, I mainly use it to hit survivors when they commit to vaulting a window or dropping a pallet, and it works fine for that.

Although I will say, there are some oddly strange junk tiles that the tentacle can or can't go over. It does not seem consistent at all.

  • I still believe Freddy is the strongest out of licensed killers, but PH is a close second. Design wise though, Demo is definitely the best. He's fun for both sides and well-balanced.

The thing is; satire can be funny and well written. Scary Movie is neither. The writers were lazy as hell because they thought it being a parody meant they did not have to actually make a real script.

You can say it's not funny or well written all you want, but it's personal opinion. All I'm gonna say is if a majority of people didn't like the franchise, they would not have made 5 movies :) Also I hear a 6th is coming at some point

  • @Power_Guy said:

Please no. These movies are the dumbest garbage out there. Nothing but 'lol, weed' and 'lol, sex' jokes. They are not funny in the slightest and have no place in DBD.

They are purposely dumb because the Scary Movie franchise is literally all about satire and making fun of horror movie clichés and stereotypes. I love them BECAUSE they're dumb and stupid.

  • 2v8 pls and ty BHVR, i dont care if its balanced or not it looks like so much fun

  • I sincerely hope they add Springtrap, not because I think would be a great addition to the game, but more so because it will make people leave who hate on the character because they don't personally like the FNAF games. Cya pal :)

You are missing the point entirely.

If every FNAF thread was in one thread, I could ignore it without 40 'OMG SPRINGTRAP!' and 'It'S sPrInGtRaP!' and 'FNAF CHAPTER!' taking up every other posting on the front of the forum.

It's spammy and annoying instead of being considerate and located in one post.

Then what about the million other threads about nerfing x killer or balance of x map? People just like to pick and choose what they don't like and Springtrap is one of them. I honestly hope they do add him in spite of everyone who hates on the idea just for sake of hating on it.

  • @KerJuice said:

Question- has there ever been two licensed killer DLC’s back to back?

Yep - Leatherface, Freddy and Pig were released in that order one after the other. And more recently, Ghostface and then Demo.

It's still annoying to have 30 threads saying the same thing pushing out any other discussion instead of one thread where it can all be consolidated.

How is it annoying? No one is forcing you to read any threads. Stop reading ones about Springtrap and making yourself annoyed. Besides, now is the time where you should EXPECT Springtrap speculation because the hints BHVR are giving out could actually be referring to a FNAF chapter. I don't see how it's any different to the million threads about "nerf Spirit, nerf SWF, the grind sucks, etc"

  • It's hilarious seeing people complain about how there are "too many Springtrap threads", it's very easy to not click on thread and read it. I also don't see how the FNAF fanbase will 'ruin' this game, everyone is already extremely toxic anyway. The FNAF fans are probably less toxic than DBD players.

  • These threads that show you care and it affects you are why they do it. If we all stopped caring most of them would stop.

  • Imagine the outrage from players if the devs put walls and doors throughout the entire Red Forest map, and then stacked another layer over the entire map that's just as filled with more walls, corridors and doorways. That's literally the RCPD map and I don't know how on Earth people are defending it... The old complaints used to be "Red Forest is too large! Mother's Dwelling is too large! Temple of Purgation is too large!". Now the devs add a map that's roughly the same area size, but THREE floors of it, and people are really trying to say "OmG JuSt lEaRn ThE MaP"? I don't see any consistency here. The map is terrible and needs to be way smaller. Barely any killers are functional on it and it's filled with safe pallets.

Plus, Capcom are usually very nice about their licenses and how other companies use their assets, I'm sure if the devs wanted to separate the map into an East and West Wing variation, they would not give a #########. This is quite frankly just a matter of whether BHVR actually want to listen to their community.

Bmight is fine, if you have problems with collisions : practice more.

Once you know what is bouncable and what is not, trust me, you'll take advantage of that.

What an odd response. Presuming you main/play a lot of Blight, surely you've experienced the slide instead of a bounce before? It becomes apparent very quickly when playing a lot of Blight for the first time that some surfaces are risky to try and use because half of the time you will just keep sliding. No need to try and dismiss someone who wants bugs fixed that they just need to "practice more".

  • Welcome to red ranks. We all hate it here.

I’m literally an ex killer main who still plays killer, but nice job being another person on this forum making baseless assumptions! I wonder why you’re even on here if you don’t want a discussion

I said IF you don't, this post is clearly about the killer experience and you chimed in with a weird thing about how you use off-meta perks as survivor. We KNOW survivors can use ######### perks because survivors have all the power and control in this game. So maybe you should say something from your killer perspective since that is very obviously what everyone is talking about.

  • I would absolutely love this. As someone who suffers partially from red-green colour blindness, sometimes it's impossible for me to see red survivor auras on top of the red gen auras. I still use BBQ just for bloodpoints, otherwise I would use Thrilling Tremors. I would also like some setting for scratch marks too because on certain maps they are literally invisible to me (Ormond especially)

  • Maybe you should try and analyse your gameplay and/or watch some looping tutorials? Pipping up is way hard for survivors than killer, so you have to make sure you're doing a bit of everything in order to make sure you get pips: Gens, unhooking, healing, being in chase, etc. If you're playing in a SWF and pubstomping killers you are most likely not going to get pips because the trial needs to actually have things happen to give out points.

I’m a solo queue player who uses deception and performs well so I don’t know what else to tell you

Deception is not even a bad perk, what kind of logic is that? Survivors also have the luxury of bringing whatever meme build they want because there are 4 of them. It doesn't matter what perks they bring. One is in chase, the other 3 are pumping gens. You don't need a meta build for that. Killers in red ranks on the other hand are required to bring gen slowdown perks to even stand a chance.

If you don't have any killer perspective about this issue, you should stay out of it. This isn't a discussion for survivor mains.

    @calem

Ok? and large maps are bad for M1 killers in general anyway.

You are being extreme. That's my opinion.

The difference between this map and other large maps though is that RCPD is three different floors. Not one. It's like three Lery's piled on top of each other. M1 killers need to try and navigate 3x as much area as they would any other large outdoor map. It's not a fair comparison. You hear a gen on Mother's Dwelling, great, it's right there. You hear a gen in RCPD that's a floor above you? Great, it takes an extra 20-30 seconds to actually find your way to it.

  • Yep. Being in red ranks sucks when I want to play killers like Pig. I used to main her but getting ######### on far too often in high ranks made me learn Nurse and Blight. I would love to be able to have fun and actually not get stomped on with killers like her, Clown, Legion, etc. but unfortunately gen speeds in high ranks do not allow that.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

95% of the killers? I think that’s a tad extreme.

The only one I see it being an issue might be Billy and Blight… power-wise.

I originally made a full list of why every killer sucks on this map, but ultimately deleted it because it read badly. It all comes down to: m1 killers suffer because the map is too large and it takes too long to patrol gens. Exceptions being Wraith because he is fast and has no terror radius in stealth, and Freddy who can TP to gens. Any other killers (Huntress, Slinger, Trickster) suffer from being 110 movespeed and taking 6 years to patrol gens + infinite LOS blockers to almost never allow them to use their power. Nurse also suffers hugely from LOS blockers. Oni cannot demon dash anywhere.

I don't think what I said was extreme at all.

  • Surprised no-one has said either of these yet:

I would love to see Springtrap from FNAF come in. Probably could be a killer-only chapter. As long as the entire map isn't indoor and copied + pasted from a FNAF game.

I would also love to see a survivor-only Walking Dead chapter. My choices would be Rick and Michonne. I've loved the Walking Dead since it was released and although the show has dragged on and gone downhill a lot since then, the first 4 seasons are amazing.

  • @Ghoste said:

95% is a bit high. At the very least, stealth Killers do fine because it's an indoor map and Survivors can't see you coming. Small corridors mean trap Killers can cut off sections of the map. The gens are also quite hard to find. So far I've only escaped once from RPD.

While stealth killers can sneak up yes, Ghostface and Myers have next to no potential to stalk the survivors making them m1 killers for most of the game. And yeah, Trapper and Hag can do well, but the unfortunate reality is the this map is far too large and has too much ground to cover that most of the time your traps will be less than useful. It also takes way too long to set up in meaningful locations. This map is nearly the size of the Red Forest, but with THREE different floors. It's far too big for it's own good and should have been separated into an East Wing and West Wing variation.

It’s a dream map for Twins. Being spotted in a hallway by Victor is a death sentence.

Midwich is a far better version of an indoor map for the Twins. RCPD is way too large (which is the main issue I have with it).

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    Really?!

Every match I play as killer on this map I dominate.

It's because a lot of survivors have learnt the layout of the map: where gens are, loops, etc. and are now abusing the terrible design of it. You only really stand a chance against competent survivors if you play Freddy/Wraith, or are a god Nurse player. Any other killer cannot traverse the map at all, and patrolling gens is a joke with how many doorways and walls and corridors there are. Also, gates are impossible to patrol so you have to pick one and hope you get lucky.

P.S I'm pretty sure I remember you saying you're a big fan of the RE series, so you probably already knew the layout anyway since you're familiar with the games. Most people aren't and the devs should not have ctrl c + ctrl v this map into DBD.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Yeah they need to change that. Not like having P3 Quentin means much when they ruined it tbh

It just seems very lazy to me, to update all the faces and not bother with their pictures. And I quite enjoyed running around as P3 Quentin even before when he looked like a crackhead, mainly because I never ran into any other Quentin let alone a P3.

Doctor will never be a balanced killer. It takes no skill to play him. Thats coming from someone who consistently 4ks with him at red ranks. At least he’s fun to play because the other side stands no chance!

Lmao I'm not gonna take you seriously, I can also consistently 4k with Doc at red ranks, doesn't mean he is overpowered. His rework put him in a good spot.

  • Does anyone ever consider that maybe since DBD is a horror game that, ya know, people follow it because they enjoy it? Especially other companies that produce horror content? This logic of "x company follows DBD Twitter, this means a new chapter with that license!" is getting annoying and out of hand.

  • Just some points I wanted to make in response to your comments:

    • Doctor is a balanced killer. You might find him annoying, but that's kinda the whole point of his power and madness. It's supposed to throw you off. I'm sick of survivor mains complaining about him because they can't loop against a Doctor. You have to pre-drop unsafe pallets, or if he is continually shocking you, just keep holding W around the loop. Take that advice from someone who plays a ######### ton of Doctor.
    • The RCPD map is bad for both sides. Not just survivors. You have to remember it's still an indoor map, so the issues that survivors have of navigating it also applies to killers (except Nurse). The last 2 times I played on RCPD as survivor was against a Billy and Huntress, so obviously they didn't do too well.
    • Getting hit through pallets is usually, not all the time, the survivors fault for throwing the pallet down. When you throw pallets down, your hitbox moves to the middle of pallet (even though you are on the other side of it). So if the killer is close enough, they WILL hit you through it. If you keep running and they swing, they will miss. This is something I get away with all the time as killer because most people don't know the hitbox moves to the middle of the pallet when you throw it down.
    • Getting tunnelled and facecamped sucks, yeah, but this isn't something BHVR can do anything about. People have to learn to either: gen rush when someone's being facecamped and let the killer depip or go for a trade with Borrowed Time, OR take hits or downs for someone who is being tunnelled. Hard to get that in solo queue survivor, I know, but it is how you counter those things. BHVR cannot force killers to somehow not tunnel or facecamp.
    • Getting actually gen-rushed is quite rare and people tend to throw this term around when simply they just didn't play well enough. A true gen-rush is when a 4 man SWF bring BNPs and Prove Thyself. There are so many games people say "omg gen rush" when no survivor has a toolbox or Prove Thyself. That's not being gen-rushed, that is using your time ineffectively as killer.
    • You say you're a survivor main but can't have fun because you are forced to bring meta perks every game? I just don't believe this at all. Survivors ARE the ones who can get away with non-meta perks and fun builds. I completely agree bringing the same meta build (Adrenaline/Borrowed Time/Dead Hard/Unbreakable/Decisive Strike/etc) is not fun, but if you can't escape without bringing those perks, then that's more an issue with your playstyle and/or skill than game balance. I know that a lot of perks need buffs to be "viable", but that doesn't mean you can't do well with them.
  • I usually assume it's Trail of Torment, cause next to no-one uses Better Together. Since RE though, 95% of the time it's Blast Mine, which maybe seems like an indirect buff to Trail of Torment + Dragon's Grip?

  • I don't have a problem with the zombies themselves, but I don't enjoy RNG elements to this game. Sure, 80% of the time they don't do anything and cause no problems for you. It's like they don't exist. But that 20% of the time where you're forced off a gen, or they shut down a loop, just by complete chance, is not fun. I would rather go down from being outplayed by the killer, not being unlucky. It's the same logic with Pig's power. Getting it off on the first try is great for you as a survivor, but the worst possible thing for the Pig. It's not really fun for either side, just luck. There is no sense of skill involved with it.

Another quick example is Trapper. I know he sucks and is a terrible killer at the moment, but he's still not fun to verse. At most loops you just have to pray he didn't put a trap to stop it. If he didn't, great, you're looping an M1 killer who does nothing. If not, you go down instantly because he just happened to put a trap there. There are a lot of other factors but that's the basic gist of versing him.

It's why I would really like some sort of Pig trap rework, and for the devs to actually fix the zombie AI so they're not useless most of the time or pressuring survivors off a gen for free while Nemesis is chasing someone else. It's just not fun.

  • I play both sides very evenly. So I'm hoping my opinions are as unbiased as possible.

When I play killer, the ONLY maps I don't groan about getting are:

    1. Dead Dawg Saloon
    2. Shelter Woods
    3. Hawkin's (though this is dependent on what killer I am playing, most of the roster is fine with it)

The Game is arguable and could go either way, it really depends what killer you are as well. But for the most part, M1 killers will struggle because there are a ridiculous amount of safe loops on this map after the rework. Provided the survivors aren't scared of being in a terror radius for 80+% of the match, it's hard to do well as killer.

Every other map I feel can be easily won by survivors. There are more than enough resources on the "3 gen maps" (Azarov's and Suffocation Pit) to get by. If the killer leaves a good 3 gen spot, then you can pump out that gen and not let them have it. If they spend the entire match guarding the same 3 gens and not chasing, do every other gen and then you literally have all the hook states in the game to do 1 last gen. I usually win on Azarov's and Suffocation Pit as killer by banking on the survivors being overly altruistic instead focusing on gens.

Pretty much every other map is survivor sided for the average killer. The sheer amount of great maps for survivors is also one of the reasons I picked up and learnt to play Nurse.

  • I don't bother with killer prestiges, I'm not even going to see the cosmetics I get in-game anyway except for the weapon, so it doesn't sound worth it to me. Also the need for specific perks on each different killer to make their power work the best is another extremely off-putting reason that I don't prestige killers. Most of my killers are level 50 and have most of the good perks for them, but I'm not even gonna bother prestiging any of them, because I might feel like playing x killer when they don't have good perks unlocked yet.

I have 2 P3-50 all perks survivors, Meg and Quentin. Meg was first because she was my first main when I started playing the game. I started by getting all survivors to 40 for teachables, got a good build for Claudette, and then grinded until Meg was P3-50 with all perks and didn't spend any other (survivor) points anywhere. Rinse and repeat for Quentin except I played Meg to grind points.

But to answer the original question, once I got Meg to have all perks, I stopped dumping points into her so I will probably lost most of the add-ons before I spend any more points on her.

  • everyone's forgetting the best survivor to add to the game:

    CJ.png

  • Setting off Hag traps before you know you're versing her still makes me jump

  • Yeah, it's really not up to BHVR for licensed cosmetics. If Capcom doesn't want Nemesis to look any different than the current design, then he won't. Same reasoning goes for all licenses, as they wouldn't want BHVR to make their characters look a way that they don't want/like.

  • I don't think it's underrated at all, I'm pretty sure most people agree it's now the best anti-totem perk in the game. I don't think that seeing the furthest totem away is inherently bad. The reason it's so strong is mainly the 40% speed increase to cleanse. The aura reading just helps push it to be better than Small Game or Detective's Hunch.

  • Myers. Legion. Nurse. In that order too in my opinion, solely because Myers struggles so much to do anything these days.

Resident Evil is full of NPC's they repeat the same actions over and over again, the result is the same, over and over again. This game's horror element has the luxury of being controlled by a real person. The results and actions....are not the same over and over again. Every match is different, every killer is different, you can't expect whats going to happen from match to match....

BUT ONE PROBLEM....You lose unsureness in this game not from playing it 100 times...but from the course of that 300 hours the game patch by patch becoming easier and more of an E-sport. You teabag the killer because you're sure you can escape, and you're sure that that doing that you will suffer no real consequence. You have tons of second chance perks, tons of perks to start the chase huge distances away from the killer, perks to instantly end a chase and pop across a map, perks to see the killer coming via auras, perks to see everybody on your team, perks to heal yourself, perks to get back up from being practically dead, perks to escape hooks on your own, perks to stop a killer from hooking you, perks to blind and stun killers, perks to end the game in minutes, items to end the game in minutes, items to stun the killer, items to find a key and get out of the match early, perks to find items to do all of the above, and a game design team who's idea of a threat is making a counter to the same threat thus turning the game into a MOBA.....and everything I mentioned above is multiplied by 4 in a game that can be finished in under 5 minutes...

I've heard the same excuse about why this game isn't scary for the past 3 years and everybody skips over the most basic part of why survivors don't hide in games anymore and neon bright skins became the best selling costumes in the game...ITS OBVIOUS....

I agree with what you're saying, I just don't understand why you replied to me with a huge paragraph that isn't relevant to what I was talking about lol. My comment was about the actual scare factor of the game. And the unsureness I was referring to is about being new and not knowing how to play the game correctly (e.g. where do I run to, what did this sound cue mean, where are the gens, etc.), instead of whether or not you can escape. Personally I don't think it's scary to not know how the killer is going to play because different people are playing them each match.

I think there are different types of scary in DBD. It's scary when a Hag trap pops up when you aren't ready for it. It's also scary versing a really good Nurse player. But they are different feelings. I assumed OP was referring to the first one, and that's what my comment was about.

  • Yeah, I remember being new to the game. The terror radius was scary, not hearing the terror radius and wondering if a Wraith or Myers is stalking you was scary, staying injured was scary. Eventually when you learn the game and realise where to run and how to loop tiles, you don't get scared because you know what you have to do. You lose that unsureness. And that's not just for DBD, it's any horror game you play long enough to memorise. Resident Evil is a good example, the first time you play through those the jumpscares will get you. But if you're playing it again you know exactly when they're going to happen. DBD might be a different kind of game to RE or Outlast, but it's no exception to this. The only thing that scares me in-game anymore is setting off Hag traps when you aren't expecting it. And perhaps the occasional Myers or Ghostface.

  • I think people who are specifically going out of their way to find crowns die more than they normally would. I got all my survivor crowns pretty quickly by playing normally and just taking the crowns if I happen to come across them. The only time I ever went out of my way to get them was when it was a guarantee escape regardless (e.g. all gens done, exit gates 99'd, no NOED, not on death hook).

  • It also sucks if I'm playing a killer I don't have Franklin's unlocked for yet and the survivors have 2 keys, a rainbow map and a ranger's medkit.

  • Normally I would agree with this, but not after the disastrous release of the RE chapter. I would love if the devs just postpone the next chapter and spend an entire update fixing optimisation and balancing maps, killers and perks.

  • I guess it is kind of uncommon, but I still see it a fair amount. I wouldn't bank on it being there during a chase though

You should get use of perks in a game. Except for 'high risk, high reward' perks. Unbreak-A-Bill is high risk, high reward. Killer wants to slug? Suddenly you pop up and are gone. Pressure lose Spine Chill is small-to-medium risk, small-to-medium rewards. The amount of of both determined by the survivor's skill.

It does not deny and counter stealth killers entirely. And no, it's mediocre against Spirit.

The warning it give is not huge. Not by any shot.

The reason you don't see more complaints against SC is because the perk itself doesn't have a huge utility. If a surv has to slot 1-2 more perks to make 1 perk good. Then that 1 perk isn't that great.

I agree with your first sentence. Hence why I think Spine Chill is so good, you always get use out of it in every game. Unbreakable is a high reward, but you don't use it every game. Or even every second game. It isn't very consistent.

I'm also not saying it completely counters Spirit. Nothing does. But it does help a decent amount against a killer that is largely unplayable against. Against stealth killers, yeah, it does counter them. The whole point of their stealth is to sneak up and surprise survivors, which you can't do with Spine Chill active. Sure, Wraith can moonwalk and stuff, but what about Ghostface who actually is forced to look at the survivors? Completely countered. Tier 1 Myers who also has to stalk? Spine Chill completely counters that.

If you don't think 36 metres of warning is huge, then I don't know what to say, it's literally a bigger warning than a terror radius. Every extra second you get in this game is crucial, and if you don't think that extra time to get somewhere safe is good, then I can't take what you say seriously.

And no, I didn't say you must use Iron Will with it. I am saying I think both perks are comparable and completely counter so many killers when used together. Spirit is a great example, having both Iron Will + Spine Chill against her will help tremendously. Both are still extremely good when used without the other.

  • I agree Spine Chill is one of the best perks in the game, and it's also a perk that you get good use out of every single game. It completely counters and denies stealth killers of any surprise hits whatsoever, and is also good against Spirit who we all know is a problematic killer. Even if you don't go against a stealth killer, Spine Chill gives you a huge warning of when the killer is coming and plenty of time to get somewhere safe. The 6% action speed bonus is just the cherry on top of an already busted perk. I also see literally no reason to not run Spine Chill (if you're just trying to win with the best perks possible).

I've said the same about Iron Will. I can't think of a scenario in-game where you wouldn't want it. Having the Iron Will + Spine Chill combo makes it literal hell for killers, as both of them effectively counter the strengths of so many killers. It's obviously different in a SWF, but I honestly think the best build for solo survivor is Iron Will, Spine Chill, Kindred, and one flex slot to suit your preference.

I'm honestly surprised we don't see more complaints about Spine Chill because I really do think it's lowkey one of the most OP perks in the game.

  • People heavily overestimated how good Lethal Pursuer would be. Aside from god tier Nurses and Billy/Blight/Huntress on open maps, I don't see the value of using it over Corrupt. All Lethal really does is let you start the first chase very early. The information of knowing which gens the other survivors are on after that chase though is kind of useless since most of the time you already know where the survivors would spawn and which gens are the closest to that position.

  • As long as they're small and distinguishable enough from the killer, I don't see why not. At the very least a legendary skin for a survivor would be cool.

  • I do like where Nemesis is right and how his power works. The 3 hits makes sense and even though it does take a lot to down someone, reducing it to 2 would be too strong. If I were to buff Nemesis it would probably be to reduce the vaccine count to 2, and/or increase the time it takes to open the vaccine chest and inject it. Also fixing the zombie AI to not get stuck literally every game would also be good lol

  • A better solution would be just remove perk tiers altogether. There is no need to have to spend points 3 times for every single perk in the game in 2021 with so many than when the game was released.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 10
