or or... get this.. You just hit them and boom they can't repair the gen and they can't unhook someone else. Or hit the guy
And why are people so scared to pick people who have decisive out of a locker sure it's annoying but it beats watching them in the locker for too long or just ignoring them and letting them get the gen...If you just take em out that 5 sec stun assuming you hit the gen shouldn't be enough for them to walk over there and repair it in time by themselves
That being said a better bandaid fix would be to cancel DS when the survivor is within really close proximity of the killer and goes in a locker..Not just fear radius
Working on a gen or unhooking teammates shouldn't cancel it..The core issue is the locker..But just simply going in a locker shouldn't be an issue cause a survivor being unhooked but hearing his heartbeat get faster and deciding to hide in a locker is fair game.
The locker mechanic with DS is fine as it forces killers to pick you up and eat the stun instead of slugging (only for you to Unbreakable away anyway). The problem is survivors using those 60 seconds to make unhooks they shouldn't have made, repair and finish gens that shouldn't have been finished, and get free escapes during EGC (when it's the strongest). That's why people want to add something like repairing or unhooking cancels it out. Removing the locker mechanic means if you get chased after being unhooked, you have no way to guarantee the stun. Making it a useless perk. To me it just seems like you don't have enough experience in the game based on what you said.

About your 'forced to use iron will' point how is it any different from killers being forced to use slowdown builds to stop gens? And even without iron, you can still use the mind games as windows and pallets. It's not guaranteed to work, but it still helps. If you were able to mind game a spirit just by existing, she would be terrible
I'm sick of people using strawman arguments. We aren't talking about gen speeds, that's a different topic entirely. And actually, killers aren't forced to use slowdown builds. People use CI and/or Pop usually at most, because they're CONSISTENT. Get a bad map for your killer? CI and Pop will slow the game down a bit and help out. It's better than using something like Bamboozle, which only works at vault locations. It's inconsistent, because you aren't always going to be chasing around a window. So many other perks are also in the same boat because of how inconsistent they are.
But back to Spirit, without Iron Will, you literally have no chance. Plus, every other killer you can mind-game "just by existing", to use your words. She's the only killer where if you don't have X perks and get lucky, or if she's inexperienced, you die. Just poor design in my opinion.
-
Um, unless they were trolling around and not actually trying, I would never expect to win or have fun against a 4 man SWF with Franklin's, Lightborn, Blood Warden and... Iron Grasp?
-
I get that Iron Will counters her, but I would like to not be forced to run a certain perk against a killer in order to win a chase and/or escape. It's not like going against a Trapper or Hag and thinking, damn, I don't have Small Game, I'm gonna die! I don't think anyone has ever thought that. This is Spirit, where if you actually just happen to not have Iron Will, you die. Even with Stridor, she can still hear you. Good Spirits hear your footsteps and breathing even while crouching.
Just today I ran the vault build for a few games (Dead Hard/Resilience/Spine Chill/Iron Will) and played against 3 different Spirits with it. All 3 of them had Stridor. I could hear myself groaning very loudly while walking and using Iron Will. It's impossible to mind-game a good Spirit unless you are camping the pallet and get lucky. My problem with her is that it isn't FUN counterplay. From a survivor perspective, Spirit is my least favourite killer to go up against. I shouldn't feel like I am screwed from the start just because I don't have Iron Will, which helps a little but not against the decent Spirit players.
Overall I think she's just designed poorly. You say she's designed around mind-games and making reads, but what 'reads' are you talking about? If she's phasing, you have no idea where she is or when she will emerge. You can't even hear her footsteps. I would love a Spirit rework. And I haven't met a single DBD player (with a bunch of experience) who thinks Spirit is fine, except Spirit mains who are of course a little biased. There's a reason in tournaments people only ever play Nurse or Spirit.

Pig: Make it so you have to search at least 2 Jigsaw boxes before you get the RBT off. It's really ######### to have every survivor take it off on the first attempt.

First of all, I don't mean anything here to be disrespectful, so pleas please understand that. I main Trapper, who is one of the slowest killers to get going. He has to spend the early game setting up the map. You don't want to commit to long chases too early or you are done. I understand how fast those first few gens can go.
That said, "gen rush" claims annoy the hell out of me. What are survivors supposed to do? Hide in a locker for the first 45 seconds, the run from th locker to killer shack and back before starting a gen? They have only one objective that counts, do the gens asap. The longer a match goes, the more their chances of survival fade.
Getting upset at survivors hitting gens is as absurd as survivors getting upset at a killer for getting a hook within the first minute. We have one objective, kill the survivors.
My thoughts are that you either ran into a group who completely outclassed your skill level;happens to everyone. You perhaps made too many mistakes early? Did you commit to a long chase early in the game that cost you more time than it was worth? Be willing to break off a chase if it looks like it will take too long. Wound and move on.
Dud you tunnel or spend too much time proxy camping? A lot of killers rank up vs bad survivors in green and purple ranks only to learn that lazy strategy does not cut it so well at the higher ranks. They either whine, or learn to adjust their skills and grow.
Not enough data to know what it was. I'd suggest taking a step back and try to asses any errors you are making and correct them. That is how you get better.
Good luck.
Bit funny you are asking him to take a step back and assess what he did when you can't even see 3 PT, 4 Streetwise, 4 Resilience, and 2 mega-toolboxes with BNPs. Maybe take your own advice, this is an actual example of gen-rushing and not some poor excuse like some frustrated killers use.

Well I'm gay and I certainly don't want it. I hate how often we're represented by stereotypes like that, and would much rather see a character that isn't flamoyant or feminine, or exceedingly butch if it's a female.
Well I am gay too and don't see how it would affect neither me or you. I take it you aren't a very flamboyant or feminine person based on your response, and neither am I, but some people do identify with the type of people drag queens are and shouldn't be excluded from representation. I've always said that stereotypes exist for a reason. This one happens to be so because there are a lot of flamboyant and feminine gay guys out there.

I think peoole should stop asking for lgbt character they put them in eveey single game or movie its kinda annoying
They do this because surprise, LGBT people exist in everyday life. Everywhere. Whether you like it or not. It makes not a lot of sense to have every single character in a TV show, movie, or even a video game, be heterosexuals. Because that isn't the case.
In regards to the actual topic, I find it really ironic that most people on this thread are "they don't belong in this game". The reality of this game is the Entity takes whoever it pleases and does not care about their lifestyle. It could take someone who is a drag queen. It is not IMPOSSIBLE to add representation in a correct and meaningful way. It's not always "just because they're X". If people truly don't care what kind of survivors are added, then why does everyone here seem to care so much about a drag queen not being added?

Title, I've been seeing this a LOT now
Yes I swear to god we all know swf with comms is harder to go against than solo, but what can they do? Disable friends from playing together? Please come up with an innovative idea if you plan to create a SWF unfair discussion.
Cheers
If you look for more than a few seconds into threads like these, people DO come up with solutions. Seems like you literally made a thread complaining about something without coming up with a solution yourself. A change that makes the most sense to me is buffing solo survivor to the information levels of SWF, and balancing killers/maps from there.

MY IGNORANCE? What I have said is that the FORUMS are a MINORITY and a small one at that of the people that play this game. I did not say there were no problems, but when a majority of a minority that say something that does not mean that is 1) True, 2) an issue that MUST be addressed that second, and 3) anything meaningful what so ever.
when there are people making smurf accounts to try and get their message out, and just like this one complaining with no real suggestions other than FIX THIS CRAP it is not always seen, though the devs say they read these posts and I believe them and that they will do what they can. You attack me, yet I do not attack you. I only attack your wording, you assume the majority (and damn near everyone that plays this game) has the same words as YOU! this is not true and that is what I have said. you posted a picture edited together of 38 posts, I counted them assuming they were posted by separate people, and found that the percentage of people you showed of the 60,000 known users was less than one thousandth of a percent! how is that 99% of the 60000 you say which is 59,450 people??? it isn't. you attack without hard facts when i present hard facts you won't accept them. this is what ignorance really is, and most everyone will say that the people on game message boards are a very small fraction of the people that play the game. get over yourself and stop attacking my character and find a way to prove your assertion that over 59K people have the same opinion as you.
Buddy I don't know how else to word it. If nearly every forum thread is about this bad update, then you can very safely assume that the majority of players who can't be bothered to voice their opinions think the same. It's basic statistics. The forums are a large enough sample size to assume this was a bad update. They are representative of the silent majority.

lol this forum is populated by less people than play on the PTB! you couldn't get matches on the forums! lol and the PTB has so few players there has been no match making what so ever on it ever. this is the minority of users, not even close to 1/2 the users plus many times there are smurf accounts that post with 1 post just because people want to post their views multiple times to make it seem like it's more than just them. (I however am not saying this about you, just talking in general) how can you extrapolate 38 posts to equate to 99% of the game's users? lol it's not even close. if each of these posts is by an actual user and not a smurf account, 38/60,000 = less than a ten thousanth (6.43(repeating)e-4) percent. now do you see what i mean? you're not even within a hundredth of a percent and that's using the average of one of the days in the last two weeks (don't remember the exact day)
You are something else. You realise what is said on the forums by the majority of people, typically represents what the in-game players think as well? They all experience the same game as we do. You are blinded by your own ignorance to not see this update as an issue.
-
I am partially red-green colourblind. I can see scratch marks alright usually, except on Ormond. They are invisible on that map. And these new auras, I literally can't see survivors on BBQ. It's the faintest little smudge of red but for all I know it could be a totem. I have to rely on it MOVING to tell. If they're on a gen, they're literally invisible. I hate it.

first of all i said more than just streamers. I used more words than that. you know what more than 54,450 people (dropped 5000 from the average of 60K I saw playing the other night and then figured 99% of 55,000) think... you have polled that many people in the span of how many weeks? where is your 99% coming from? stop throwing up big numbers. now if you said I don't think that many of the players like this it's easily accepted that you may have talked to a few hundred people directly and maybe a few hundred more here in this forum etc. to be honest your whole way of speaking in your post is pedantic and haughty.
However you are right, I did misspeak when I said WHOLE.. I meant to say something different so for that I do apologize for the characterization, I should have said "The devs listen to the WHOLE of the community that gives them feedback." that is not 100% or even 99% of the players of the game. Just because they LISTEN to them does not mean they will do something or that they will not do something. Listening means they take the information and mull it over and decide if it has merit with how they wish the game to go. They know not everyone is going to be happy with changes but they have to decide what is the best course of action and it may not be what you or your many people that didn't want to happen.
good bye, you have pushed yourself from belivability to absurdity.
I know you can't find the opinion of 60,000 people. Not all of them are on the forums to express their opinions, and not all of them care. But look at the forums dude:
How can you honestly say I don't speak for the majority? Everyone is mad at this update. You're completely oblivious to what is happening if you think what I am saying is objectively incorrect.

@Freki said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/175921/bhvr-does-not-listen-to-us
well you certainly think HIGHLY of yourself, to know what over 60,000 people were saying. just because it's said on the forum doesn't mean it's the majority of the people, on the contrary the majority of the people DO not get on the forums, and that's even a fraction of who get on the PTS. Just because you and a few friends hear a few streamers talking abut things doesn't mean that the 1000's of streamers and 10's of thousands of people that play the game are thinking the same. You may have some valid points, but what about valid counter points? the DEVs listen to the WHOLE of the community, sifting through crap like your yelling (again with valid points) to find those valid points and that gets passed on to the right team. IF you don't like it, leave. I don't care how much money you've spent in this game, if you're that bent you shouldn't play, find something else you can put your time in and it doesn't bend you. honestly you don't believe the devs listen, why give them the ratings, the plays and the attention when it so bends you. Good luck, i believe you will need it.
I don't where you've been the last couple of patches, but I can confidently say 99% of people disagree with the Billy changes, hate the Midwich map, and think similar things to the points I've mentioned in this thread. You know what the Billy change has done for players? It punishes being inexperienced with him. Sure, experienced Billy players won't feel too much of a difference, but this whole rework is just a deterrent to learn how to play Billy. It's on the same calibre as the Nurse change.
Plus, please don't assume I am whipping out these points because I heard streamers talk about it. That's the go to counter-point anyone like you uses whenever you don't want your BHVR Gods to be called out on. "Omg, this guy is just spurts out any random ######### his favourite streamer says!". You sound like you're content with BHVR making ######### updates and ruining any amount of fun that could be had in DBD. Plus, from what I've seen, most streamers also are against the Billy changes and think it's stupid. All anyone ever had an issue with was instasaw Billy, so what should have been changed? His base-kit? What a joke.
To even say "the devs listen to the WHOLE community" is objectively false. People have wanted keys and mori changes for a long time. People have wanted Spirit changes for a long time. When they announced the Billy changes on the PTB, 99% of people said not to do it, and just change his add-ons. But did they listen? No, they didn't. They didn't even listen to us when it was on the PTB, which is the whole ######### point of putting it on there. They may as well have put it on live servers last patch without any feedback since nothing changed.

@Rivyn said:
I wouldn't go so far as to say they don't listen, but I will say they pick and choose. It often feels like they play a completely different game than the rest of us do. They claim Billy was 'meeting their expectations,' so they nerf him. They claimed Nurse was getting 'small tweaks,' and 'mostly numbers,' then they bury her. They claim to fix map sizes, yet the only meaningful map shrinkage was Temple of Pergation. Farm maps are still massive, Ormond is still massive, Mother's Dwelling is still massive. Sound bugs are still here. No mention of any kind of balance to SWF, even though it's somehow okay to nerf viable killers.
There has been some good. Doc rework was good. Ruin, while controversial, allowed me to work with new builds, even though I've been blitzed far more often. Tool box and medkit changes were nice. I can't say anything about Bubba's rework, it's too early.
So, some good things, more bad things. Pick and choose. The greatest flaw I have to give the devs is how agonizingly slow updates are. It's too bad they can't light a fire under their asses. I feel the game would be in a much better state if they did frequent balance passes, instead of having to wait months for anything to be done.
Completely agree 100%. I enjoy reworked Doc. I like new Ruin. However, new Ruin did kind of gut any killer without map pressure. Now everyone uses Corrupt Intervention as a replacement.
I am still angry about the map changes, because when I heard they were doing it, I was excited for Ormond and/or Haddonfield to be adjusted. But no, they changed Macmillan, Autohaven and Swamp tile spawns, and shrunk Temple of Purgation. Ormond is still massive and has 99% safe pallets, Haddonfield is still a nightmare for most killers, Mother's Dwelling also is still too big. And yet they favour the more balanced maps.
And yeah, I think we need faster updates as well. It's extremely slow waiting for the most minor of fixes to be changed.

BHVR had the time to give Billy chase music but not look at add-ons until three months from now. So no. Just because you play the game they care more about the money not the community. Hit them where hurts the bottom line their pockets keep your money in yours.
You aren't wrong, I will definitely be keeping my money, but I'm not so sure everyone will so I doubt they will change anytime soon.
-
As survivor, sure, they are manageable. But as killer, I hate it. Survivors basically get free Distortion if they are on a generator. I am someone who already struggles with scratch marks due to partial red-green colour blindness (which makes Ormond a constant issue for me, they are literally invisible to me on that map). Now I can't even see if one of them is on a gen with BBQ, which is the whole point of that perk.

Those weren't the only changes to maps. 6 or 7 maps got their size reduced and/or their tile distribution changed so strong loops wouldn't spawn too close together. So many people wanted map changes so they would become more balanced, especially changes to god loops, and that's what BHVR did.
Again, they also have listened to the community in the past as well with many other changes. Whether they listen enough I'm not sure, but they certainly do listen. But as with every developer team, they do make their own decisions as well on what needs to be changed and what not. Not all the changes they make are great in my opinion as well, but accusing them of never ever listening to the community is just overreacting really badly, and makes your post seem ridiculous.
What maps did they change again? Pretty sure the main maps people have issues with are Ormond and Haddonfield, which remained the same, right? But instead they change Macmillan, Autohaven, and the Swamp.

The new legendary cosmetics that are super expensive but we can't customise for whatever reason. I'm guessing out of laziness? Nobody really cares if it looks kinda [BAD WORD], the whole point of cosmetics is for us to buy them and then use them however we want, not however BHVR wants.
Unless you're mistaken, legendaries are locked for a reason. For example mixing Lisa Garland's head on Cheryl's body? Wouldn't make sense. Although if you're talking about cosmetics that are called sets (you can't mix and match them) then I can understand that. The latest Nea cosmetic made me disappointed when I discovered I couldn't apply it to other cosmetics (although there was a head glitch with it that made me able to do so).
Yeah I was referring to Nea's. It makes sense to not be able to change the Lisa one, cause it's Lisa and not Cheryl. I was also disappointed when I couldn't mix and match Nea's new outfit.

I love how you are complaining about maps being too survivor sided and that they should be changed, yet BHVR just released a huge patch a few months ago with many map changes that made them more balanced, meanwhile you are accusing them of never listening? That's ridiculous.
BHVR is certainly listening to their community, otherwise we wouldn't have gotten nice buffs/reworks to killers like Doctor, Leatherface or Freddy, and those map changes wouldn't have happen either. It just takes time to implement these changes. Whether BHVR takes too long to implement such balance changes or not is something I can't say, but accusing them of never listening is just a bit ridiculous.
Also, I get that probably the majority didn't want any changes to Billy at all, but there have been enough people that think that he was just a bit too good as well, and BHVR of course tries to listen to their entire community, not just the part of the community that you agree with. And after the feedback from the PTB they even toned down the nerf of Hillbilly quite heavily to make him less affected by the chainsaw overheat.
So I really don't understand how you come to the conclusion that BHVR never listens.
I don't think removing a few God loops changes much on those maps. They are still pretty survivor-sided in my experience. As long as the survivors aren't potatoes, it's pretty easy to get the gens done and escape.
-
I don't like it either. It doesn't sound that bad by itself, but I don't see it fitting Billy at all.
-
One time on Wretched Shop, I was Huntress and had a pretty insane 3-gen. They were quite literally 10-15m apart from each other and out in the open in quite a bit of a dead zone. So I could literally stand in one spot and see everything clearly. I did feel kind of bad for those survivors but they should've noticed it and did one of those gens early :)
-
I am a Huntress main and I do not think Midwich is that bad for her. The problems she has are the problems all killers have (except for Nurse who can cut through the walls). Patrolling on this map SUCKS. The ways up/down the stairs SUCK. It needs a complete re-design. It's a horrible experience for killer and survivor. Killers can barely patrol and chases are always hold W for as long as possible. Survivors have a hard time finding gens and the pallets on this map are utter garbage (hence the 'hold W to loop').
As for Huntress, I actually think the long hallways benefit her more than a lot of killers. It's fairly easy to hit hatchets down them. My advice would be if you hit a longish range hatchet and the survivor just holds W, don't waste your time catching up to them. You're too slow and will waste far more time than if you just looked for survivors on gens. Leave them injured and try to split the pressure. Overall though Midwich is terrible for everyone in the match.
But if we talk about maps in general, I don't think she has a lot of bad maps. Except for Hawkin's and arguably Lery's (I actually find that Lery's isn't as bad as people make it out to be for Huntress), you shouldn't struggle too much if you play her optimally. A lot of her success will come from your own skill to hit hatchets (which is how it should be). My advice for large maps is: once you have a survivor on the hook, do NOT waste your time walking to the other side patrolling far away gens. It's useless. The survivors will get a free hook save and heal, and the other ones on gens will hear you coming from a mile away due to your lullaby. Try and patrol 2/3 gens near the hook and interrupt the save with either a trade or possibly a down before they unhook the survivor. You are at 110% movement speed as Huntress, so you're too slow to walk around everywhere. You have to try and do what she does best: snowball. Try and have more than 1 survivor hooked/downed. That's when you're at your strongest.

This honestly seems pretty damn suspicious. I'd have reported em in-game then submit a support ticket using that video under Additional Player Report Information.
Suspicious? That Spirit literally instantly teleported to those survivors. Plus, the two she downed at the same time were extremely far away. My thoughts on watching that video were "Ah, Haunted Grounds cleansed? Time to turn my hacks on".
But yeah, report them.
-
Huntress definitely, I love ranged attacks. Even in normal shooter games, snipers are usually my go-to (Ana & Widowmaker main in Overwatch lol). Other than her, I love Pig because I am a huge Saw series fan. Plus, I think she gets a bad rep for her RBT's. I actually really like them as her power, partly because they are probably the most iconic trap from Saw.
-
Claudette, because she's the only survivor I have all my teachables on. Plus I am too lazy to grind another survivor for that when I still need to level killers.
-
Base TR Doctor with M&A and Distressing (assuming M&A applies before Distressing):
Not in chase:
24 x 0.26 = 6.24
24 + 6.24 = 30.24 metres
During chase:
40 x 0.26 = 10.4
40 + 10.4 = 50.4 metres
Now, assuming the "Calm" - Carter's Notes and "Calm" - Class 2 add-ons apply AFTER this calculation:
"Calm" - Carter's Notes is +/-8 metres depending on static blast.
"Calm" - Class 2 is +/- 6 metres depending on static blast.
So,
Not in chase with double "Calm" add-ons and Static Blast is READY (as well as M&A + Distressing).
30.24 + 8 + 6 = 44.24 metres
Not in chase and Static Blast is ON COOLDOWN:
30.24 - 8 - 6 = 16.24 metres
During chase and Static Blast is READY:
50.4 + 8 + 6 = 64.4 metres
During chase and Static Blast is ON COOLDOWN:
50.4 - 8 - 6 = 36.4 metres
Someone please correct me if I did anything wrong.
-
I judged mine based on how often I get 3-4k's (at Rank 1-2). I play a lot of Huntress and can confidently say she's my best killer by a long shot. The killers I have never played are due to me not levelling them up yet though, so I will get around to playing them eventually.
-
I mean also thematically, it makes no sense to see a tractor at a ski resort.
-
Um, no, I don't think so. It was probably just a little lag between the prompts. Lockers are probably Tombstone Myer's biggest counter, so I doubt it would ever get changed.
-
I agree - grabs are terrible from both sides. Sometimes I get sneaky grabs with Wraith or Pig, only to be cancelled out of the animation half way and the survivor has already run far away. It feels really bad cause you just lost a free hook on someone. And from the survivor side, sometimes it feels like I should have already finished my vault animation but I get grabbed from the other side of the window. Just another issue with dedicated servers I guess

I am not attempting to be toxic, just informing you that the game IS balanced around solo play. Yeah, information perks close the gap, but do you know what they also do? Take up a perk slot. SWF groups get all of them for FREE. More space to aggressively exploit second-chance perks. If you don't see how it's balanced for solos and SWF breaks the game, then I can't help you.

Umm, the game IS balanced around solo play. Hence: Kindred, Bond, Empathy, Aftercare, Object... basically any information perk. It was NOT designed for 4-man comms who abuse perks like DS/Unbreakable/BT. I know if SWF wasn't a thing then the game would die, but that's not what I am talking about. So you're wrong, in that respect :)

"Gotta waste a good minute if we want to wake up for a BT save. And by that time, someone else has been downed and is on hook."
Don't the two sentences contradict themself? If the Freddy chases and downs someone else, you don't need your BT for save (if the other idoes not play dumb, that is). Why do you even WANT a BT safe? I would think playing safely should always be the top priority. Bc when you required BT for the safe there is a good chance that you go down yourself, thus playing in the hands of the killer.
"Also, you realise the oblivious status effect is what causes BT to not wok right?"
I know that.
"So you wanting to remove that would mean BT could be used for hook-bombing?"
No, I did not say that, you gotta read more carefully. I wrote "I wouldn't mind seeing it removed", thats a whole different thing than "I want it removed". The current situation prevents hook bombing more effectively, but makes Freddy vulnerable to OoO. Without the Oblivious, hook bombing must be dealt with as every other killer (which is manageable mostly, also I usually don't punish the unhooked one for blunt unhooks, but the unhooker, so BT is not so much an issue for me in this case), but he wouldn't be countered by OoO anymore. I can live with both, but would prefer the second scenario, bc OoO annoys me far more than hook bombing.
"About his add-ons: I'm sure the devs had good intentions with the slow down ones. The problem is, 90% of players who use them are using them for Forever Freddy. Slow down add-ons, starting in dream world, then Ruin and PGTW on top of that. Maybe Thana too. It's hands down the most boring thing I've ever encountered in this game. No one likes holding M1 on gens in general, let alone for a good 2 minutes for a single gen.
I think there is a misconception about the impact of the slowdown addons. The annoyance of the slowdown builds for Freddy originates form the used perks and his superior ability to control gens. He could play with ruin and surveillance alone, no slowdown addons, no Thana, no dying light, so your repair speed is unaffected. But still totally deny your progress. Is that Forever Freddy as well?
The two minute gen might be exaggerated, from 80s to 120s would be a slowdown of 33%. That might be reachable, but would required many Dying Light stacks. If it has come this far, you are likely to lose anyway.
I find it most boring to face a killer I'm feeling helpless against. Like facing a god nurse. That's super boring for me, since it totally doesn't matter what I do, she will slaughter me. Against Freddy there's at least a chase involved, even with snares. Against such a god-tier nurse, it's hide or die. And both is super boring.
I agree with most of what you said. Just two things:
"Don't the two sentences contradict themself? If the Freddy chases and downs someone else, you don't need your BT for save"
While that is true, most people play solo. Meaning, I have no idea whether he's chasing someone else or not. I have no idea if I should be going for the save. If I am on one side of the map, and my hooked teammate is on the other, it's usually beneficial for me to stay on a gen and let a teammate unhook them. But, oh wait, someone else just got downed, and now I know to go help.
"He could play with ruin and surveillance alone, no slowdown addons, no Thana, no dying light, so your repair speed is unaffected. But still totally deny your progress. Is that Forever Freddy as well?"
No that isn't Forever Freddy, but you aren't even talking about what I said. No Freddy solely uses Ruin and Surveillance. Forever Freddy players almost always use BBQ/Ruin/Pop/Thana or something similar to that. So bringing up this issue of Ruin/Surveillance has nothing to do with what I am talking about: The fact that 90% of people abuse his slow-down add-ons along with that build for an extremely long and boring game.

Well considering my friends and i just last night I handed a spirit her lunch with stridor and I believe only 1 of us ran iron..and before that beat one so fast she literally held the door open for us...I'm afraid I must disagree with you on this one..frankly..either your solo or you must have been very predictable
Well considering SWF breaks the game, I must disagree with you on this one. Good SWF teams will dominate any killer, except perhaps a God Nurse. This game is balanced around solo survivor, so...?

So are you telling me that you get a 4k every game as a trapper against an object user? It's a massive issue and gives too much information to the survivor whenever the survivor pleases and can hide it whenever he wants to. I dont see how you think it's not a big issue to face.
Like I've said before..in a 1v4 game it is not fair for one survivor with one perk to be able to have information on the 'lone' killer at all times. SWF is broken already and this is just overkill
Literally next to no-one except SWF groups use Object. There are so many better options for solo players, and if it's a SWF anyway, Object is just the nail in the coffin to a more-than-likely already lost game. It's not so much a perk issue, it's an issue with SWF being too strong.

So by making these killers easy to beat with 257,000 counters to their power, they suddenly become "fun" to play against?
Literally no one has said they want to make these killers weak or anything. Just minor nerfs/changes to make them more fun and interactive. Plus, my definition of "fun" in DBD as a survivor is the chase. It's the only exciting thing that happens. Then you get killers like Spirit where the chase is practically non-existent because once she finds you, it's already over (as long as she isn't a potato). So yes, in a way, giving them counterplay does make it "fun" to play against.

OoO gives survivors a good headstart to get to a loop. Makes killers like deathslinger and every other killer with low TR lose their surprise factor.
And so does Spine Chill, which also counters stealth killers better than OoO does. Sure it'll warn you the killer is coming, but you know they can see you as well right? Not really a head start if they can see which direction you're going.
-
To be fair, OoO can really only be abused in SWF teams where you can tell your friends who the killer is, what they're doing, etc. Using it solo is basically useless, unless you are a God at looping and the killer chases you for 5 gens. But we all know this game is balanced for solo survivors right :)

Spirit: i would make it so we can know when she's phasing.
Freddy: maybe just nerf the add-on but his base kit Is perfectly fine.
Deathslinger: mid tier killer with no map pressure, 110% movement speed, 100% skill dependent.
Its just you can't play against every killer the same way, you should learn to adapt, after Hillbilly survivors are screaming to nerf all good killers, cmon..
Not once did I ever complain about having to play differently. I love that about DBD. I am talking about fun and counterplay. Spirit is not fun to verse because her counterplay is practically non-existent. There's no room for skill expression. If the Spirit is good, you die. The main reason is because I agree, I think we should have an indicator that she's actually phasing. So I'm sure we can see eye to eye on that.

I honestly don't get why it's such a great issue that he can counter BT. Whats so diificult about waking up first and then sneaking to rescue? God forbid there is a killer that denies brain-dead hook rushing with BT. Sure if the Freddy camps it sucks, but it sucks the same with every other camping killer. But apart from that, I wouldn't mind dream world no longer applying oblivious (it is not Freddy who "needs to lose" it, technically, since the survs get the effect applied). Because then he wouldn't be so vulnerable to OoO, which is the most stupid thing to encounter as Freddy.
I like his slow down addons, not because of "forever freddy" (a total bullshit term imo since slowdown was reduced drastically, but whatever), but because it allows me to play around with niche perk builds instead of having to rely on some gen regression perks. Currently i'm memeing around with Nemesis, Furtive Chase and Make your Choice, a really nasty combo for downing the unhooker fast without him knowing you are coming (bc of nemesis / furtive chase).
Because the alarm clocks are on the other side of map usually. Gotta waste a good minute if we want to wake up for a BT save. And by that time, someone else has been downed and is on hook. Also, you realise the oblivious status effect is what causes BT to not wok right? So you wanting to remove that would mean BT could be used for hook-bombing?

Ok let's nerf every viable killer to Legion level instead of buffing the weak ones
Enjoy your M1 gen simulator
I can feel your bias and lack of thought coming through my monitor. I know you're a Spirit main, but I'm not talking about nerfing all the good killers. I'm talking about making them fun. A good example is Nurse. Best killer in the game if you know how to play her. No one complains about Nurse. A simple "nerf" or rather quality of life change would do Spirit some good. Like I said multiple times, I like her identity as a killer. I just think some things should be changed to make her fun to verse from the survivor side. Next time you want to comment something, put some effort into it or don't say anything.

I would love Claire and/or Leon from RE2 for survivors. And I completely agree from above that I would sell my house for Clementine. That would be epic.

Honestly I grow tired of seeing these post about killer's that survivor's "find boring" or "don't like" because it sounds like entitlement that you can't adjust your gameplay because you insist on doing the same thing instead of using your brain.
I think all 3 killer's are fine and I really enjoy going against/playing all 3 of them (except Caleb since he can be looped into oblivion and he has no physics)
I really don't think I am entitled, and I play a lot of both sides so I feel like I can make informed opinions. The problem I have with "adjusting gameplay" is that survivors have 1 tool to try and escape the killer: looping pallets and jungle gyms. Spirit basically says "no" to that. It isn't like Nurse who you can both see and hear when she's blinking. Spirit is invisible and you have no idea when she's gonna pop out. To me, that doesn't sound like counterplay more than it does a boring guessing game.
Freddy though I agree adjusting gameplay is good, but I feel like you missed what I said. I don't think Freddy has a weakness. Pretty much every other killer does. Nurse? Good at ending chases quickly, can't pressure the map. Huntress? Same deal. Current Billy? Can pressure the map but can be looped way easier than the aforementioned killers. I always drop pallets early against Freddy when asleep. That's about as much adjusting as there is.

Controversial? Is it a controversy to be a strong killer and force Survivors to think beyond running in circles now?
Can we make Running Vaults a controversy?
I feel like you are trying to misuse the word controversial. These killers are brought up time and time again about whether they're fair and balanced or not. They ARE controversial. Whether or not you think they are balanced and fair has nothing to do with it.

Dude, spirit moves really fast while phasing, i use it to get across the map all the time. With add ons i think she even moves as fast as billy or close to it anyway. She has great map pressure, sure its not a teleport like fred but freds cooldown is longer
I've never had an issue with Spirit moving that fast when she's on the other side of the map. Sure, she has some really strong add-ons that can make her do that, but a lot of it comes from just ending chases quickly. That first hook is when the actual game starts, and she can snowball so easily. It may seem like map pressure, but to be honest I think it's comparable to Nurse. It's map pressure in the form of "I am forcing survivors to come unhook this guy while I down another before it even happens".

In my view all 3 killers are fine but I'd delete Spirit from the game because she isn't fun at all. No one likes playing guessing games in a competitive multiplayer game where incorrect guesses means you lose. Can't really say I have an issue with Deathslinger and my only beef with Freddy since the rework (Favorite killer to play mind you) is that I wish BHVR would just outright remove the slowdown addons he has. He's a completely different killer he doesn't need them anymore. He's quite balanced without addons which I never thought I'd say. Additionally I don't believe he needed that oblivious effect on sleeping survivors but again won't question it too much.
Regarding Spirit. Even if you know she is phasing it's still a guessing game. Boring af and unfun to deal with. I feel mentally drained every time I have to play as or against her. Would rather play other games entirely if I knew I'd have to deal with Spirit more which is why I get mad when other killers are nerfed. Pushes everyone towards playing Spirit.
tbh is Freddy and Deathslinger even controversial? From my understanding Huntress with Iri Heads is more controversial than those two.
Yeah Iri Head Huntress sucks but I'm talking about base-kit. I honestly can't remember the last time I versed an Iri Head Huntress. And like I said in my post, Freddy has been a topic of discussion since his rework. Lots of people, including myself, think he is overloaded and has very little weaknesses. But it's hard to change that since he is licensed. Plus, if you don't think Deathslinger is controversial, I don't think you've been on the forums much in the past 2 weeks.
@Dead_by_Gadfly said:
You think Spirit lacks map pressure? That...has not been my experience with her.
Honestly i think all 3 are fine. They have counterplay, its just not the standard nascar simulator counterplay that survivors are used to. I actually think ph is more broken than any of those 3 as he doesnt have counter play. Drop the pallet or dont either way youre getting hit. The best counter to him is holding W as long as possible. Fred you stay awake as much as possible and when you are asleep in chase you drop the pallet early. Spirit you vault while shes phasing then do something unpredictable while walking. I think the reason survivors struggle against them is because they actually require thought and planning instead of running in circles for 3 minutes.
She lacks map pressure on paper, but she ends chases so quickly it feels like she is always at the gen you're on. Same deal with Nurse. Her power is used for chasing survivors, it isn't a Freddy teleport or a Billy chainsaw sprint.
About PH though, I agree he is a little problematic in the same way Deathslinger is. Fake out your ranged attack, gain distance, you hit them. PH has a 32m TR though and I'd argue Deathslinger's small TR and his instant quickscope is way more annoying than PH's kind of slow ranged attack.
-
For survivor, I've been loving using For The People recently. It's not often you can use it to make some big fancy play, but the times it does is so satisfying. It's very strong during the EGC and if the killer is slugging.
For killer, I think Dying Light is really cool on Plague. I like using it because the Obsession doesn't gain anything from the altruistic bonus other than unhooking speed (which won't happen too much in a match). Using it with Corrupt, Thanataphobia and Pop is pretty nasty on the gens.
-
I wouldn't mind them if they were actually designed well. Sure, the aesthetics are great, but I'd prioritise gameplay over looks. Give Hawkin's some actual safe pallets and give Midwich more ways up/down and not a 'Hold W to loop the killer' design.

Here's the counterplay for all the killers, coming from a killer main:
- Trapper: Watch your feet, stay out of tall grass when not in a chase
- Billy: Look behind you, avoid taking paths that force you into a straight line
- Wraith: Use your eyes instead of your ears, or run Spine Chill
- Nurse: Break LOS, run in a straight line when she isnt charging a blink(she's slower than you at base)
- Myers: Break LOS as much as possible, delay him tiering up for as long as you can. Myers captilalizes on bad teams much more than most killers, so keep that in mind. Don't rely on the post-hit speed boost as he might have T3 at 99%
- Huntress: Break LOS, be careful about dropping pallets/vaulting when she has hatchets
- Hag: Watch your feet, crouch over traps to avoid triggering them, a flashlight will reveal/destroy them
- Doctor: Lockers are your friends, stay out of his terror radius or get in a locker if 60 seconds have passed since his last shock blast. Drop the pallet/vault a bit earlier to counter the shock
- Clown: Drop the pallet early if he gasses you, theres plenty to go around thanks to his nonexistant map pressure
- Freddy: Stay awake as much as possible, either by skill checks(risky) or going to a clock(safer, plus gives a 30 second grace period). Drop dream pallets/break dream snares as you travel to weaken his control, drop the pallet early if he drops snares mid-chase
- Legion: Spilt up, his power is much weaker if he cant hit all of you. Don't forget to mend
- Bubba: Use windows as much as possible, as he can't break them. If somebody gets hooked in the basement, they are to be considered lost and you should rush the gens.
- Pig: Use your eyes or run spine chill to detect her in crouch, watch out for her roar. The trap is entirely harmless until a gen pops, so theres plenty of time to get it off. It also pauses the timer in a chase or on the ground
- Plague: Depends on your looping abilty. If you are good at running an M1 killer around, dont bother cleansing, UNLESS the other survivors cleanse. Keep in mind that if all the pools get corrupted, they all get cleaned and the plague gets nothing
- Ghostface: Again, use your eyes. Don't rely on the TR or Red Stain, and don't bother with Revealing him. Just run as fast and far as possible, he has no mobility.
- Demogorgon: Literally use your ears, every single one of his actions have a global audio queue. Remember to look behind you to see if his face is opening to juke a shred. NEVER vault a window if the Demo's face is open, you WILL get hit if they are good. Rememeber that while you are in contact with an open portal, you will not hear the Demogorgon's Terror Radius.
- Oni: Heal as soon as possible, preferably somewhere far away from objectives so the Oni won't have easy access to the resulting blood orbs. NEVER do a gen while injured, you will make the Oni's job FAR easier
- Deathslinger: Use your eyes instead of your ears, his TR is microscopic, especially since any good Slinger will have Monitor. Avoid going in a straight line, look behind you, and drop the pallet early
- Pyramid Head: Mixture of Hag and Demo. His trails are harmless if you crouch over them, and his M2 is easily dodged if you look behind you. Avoid dropping pallets or vaulting windows if his sword is in the ground. Also keep in mind that Torment has no effect on normal gameplay. The only downsides are leaving a short-lived trail whenever you move, and being able to be caged/morid on death hook. Most PHs will not cage unless its late game due to removing the possiblity of saving the third hook, along with not being able to see cages.
Lmao, you missed Spirit, but I guess her "counterplay" is just guess correctly or hope to God you have Iron Will.
-
This would just be a band-aid on a more pressing issue. Bad map design. Rather than slap a lazy fix to cover the issue up, they should re-design maps to make them fair and fun for both sides.
Ormond needs less safe pallets or less pallets overall.
Hawkin's needs a little more safe pallets.
I could go on. But I think we could all agree that rather than limiting what is played, we should fix what is being played.

Because demo has an indication that he's about to use his power and you can still dodge it, while deathslinger just istantly shoots with no time for the survivor to react and also he can just spam M2 to zone the survivor
Demo also has portals to traverse the entire map, something which Deathslinger really struggles at. It balances out.
