It was honestly so embarrassing to watch. Also imagine having streamers as big as Mizkif and Shroud screaming about how your game sucks. Hopefully this is a wake up call to BHVR

Where was I angry or making assumptions? I asked a hypothetical thats not an assumption lol. And okay it isn't a choice cool I also said that. I also mentioned being Chinese since that isn't a choice either. Point is, being gay or LGBT is nothing special its nothing that makes someone cool or a loser or a bad or good person. Its just a fact of life for people so why is it such a big deal?
Because queer people are severely underrepresented in media. It's a big deal when something as established as DBD gets their first queer character. It's important for a lot of people, maybe not you, but don't try and make it not special for other people

If you agree with me then why're you trying to argue? I don't understand your point so now you think I'm right?
I am sorry but you've severely misunderstood what I am saying. I am also not arguing, I'm trying to you know... Have a discussion? Read my first post again. I agree that the map is survivor sided still. BUT it's such a drastic improvement over old Haddonfield that I think complaining about a few windows is unwarranted this early after it dropped on live servers. Maybe give it some time to see if everyone else has the same issues and then try and change it. There are much worse maps that need changing before this new iteration of Haddonfield

Im literally LGBT I'm comparing 2 miniscule meaningless things to each other. Someones a teacher cool someones gay cool there's no need to make such an emphasis on either. Only difference is ones a job another is just something someone is. Im Chinese do you think I should rejoice with joy because Feng Min exists in the game?
You keep making assumptions out of anger. I am LGBT+ as well and I think it's great we finally have some representation in the game. And I am honestly kind of insulted you would compare the struggle of being LGBT+ with being a teacher, one of which isn't a CHOICE. It's important to emphasise when your characters are queer so people can relate to it and see that they're being represented. But oh well, I've had enough talking about this over the past few days. Have a nice day man

Yeah cause you're not going against good survivors. They're not 'good' windows they're god windows which when played correctly an M1 killer CANNOT ever catch up before at least 4 gens pop.
You are making such huge assumptions here. If you bothered to actually read my posts, I initially said that I still think it's survivor sided if they know how to run the houses. I verse a lot of good survivors and I can tell when they are better than others. I'm done with this though, you don't seem like someone who is open to a discussion when you've already made your mind up.

No its not announcing a story being told it literally just is an entire thing about "LOOK WE MADE A GAY CHARACTER!!!!!". The story being told is revolving around one specific part of a character and making it their entire personality trait. You wouldn't see them making a whole page long twitter announcement about Adam being confirmed as a teacher n stuff.
It's very tone deaf of you to compare the struggle of LGBT+ representation in media to... being a teacher?

So because they fixed a couple issues that means others should be ignored? Weird way of thinking.
They did more than fix a "couple" issues. The map has drastically changed in nearly every way. I don't see an issue with a few good windows on the map when the rest of the tiles can usually be mind-gamed. I have been playing new Legion since the update and getting Haddonfield A LOT, I am having no problems with it.
-
Honestly I am just grateful at this point that the map was heavily nerfed at all.
Old Haddonfield had: Nearly every house had a god window, pallets at basically every car in the middle of map, long fences that were abysmal for killers with no mobility, OG house of pain layout, "safe" spaces like on the balcony of Myer's house where you could sit and wait for the killer to go upstairs and then hop down, next to no dead-zones, easy to find totem spawns, and the possibility for heavily biased exit gates for either side
New Haddonfield: Looks way better graphically, has dead-zones, less loops in the middle of the map at cars, less houses (even though every house has "god" windows, it's good there isn't as many), a different house of pain layout, better gen spawns for killer, better totem spawns for killer, set exit gate spawns that isn't too favourable for either side.
Overall, I do think the map is still in the survivors favour if played correctly. The houses still serve as safe spot for survivors if they know how to run them. However, if looping outside of houses, it's quite easy to get hits or mind-game most of the loops (bar a few car loops and those hedge ones that are extremely long and unable to mind-game). It is a drastic improvement over the old Haddonfield and I no longer feel like DC'ing when I load into it as killer. I wish older reworks of maps were like this (e.g. The Game and how awful that rework is).
-
To be honest, I wouldn't even include Windows in this list of "meta-changing" perks. It's just pure info. I assume it has high use from people still learning the game. I also chuck it on sometimes when I'm feeling a bit lazy. So 1 new meta perk in 4 years. That's awesome.

I know; I'm saying the game freaked out and DC'd you, which made it think that the game was "over" (so it could reveal the perks).
(It's not a bug, I don't think, it's just cause of the DC.)
It's definitely bugged somehow, even when a DC happens normally you aren't shown the killer's perks until the trial is over
-
@crystalkitti said:
I don't think it's a bug, per say.. The game thinks the Trial is over, so it's showing all the perks. The problem is it DC'd you in the first place (which caused this)...
Idk, I can handle a random DC every so often, but seeing the killer's perks isn't really fair

His Chainsaw is clumsy, he's really difficult you don't get that rewarded for being good with him, and he gets punished for using his power a lot because of his overheat
Gonna have to disagree with you sorry, Billy has an extremely high skill ceiling (I personally believe he's the hardest character in the game) and it is possible to hit flicks around a lot of loops. I think you definitely get rewarded by putting hours into Billy.
I would personally put him into at LEAST B tier solely due to his mobility and one-shot down potential. He definitely doesn't belong with the likes of Sadako, Doctor and Ghostface
I do agree that the overheat sucks though and is holding him back. Plus, it's never fun to add overheat mechanics to your characters, so most Billy players are gone now.
-
I haven't noticed any issues with Vaseline-like smearing on my screen. Sounds very strange.
And sorry to say but Haddonfield 100% needed to be reworked. It was a nightmare for killers as nearly every house had god windows to abuse. Not to mention the fences acting like the Great Wall of China for regular m1 killers

I love Legion, but you obviously did not play against release legion..
Legion right now is the best spot they have been in a long time, so I and many other people are happy with that. I also hate to see people specifically the ones that only play survivor being like "wow this forum is so biased all killers want is 4ks blah blah blah buff ds" and so on so forth because it's annoying. So please think about how unfair that would be balance-wise if a killer had zero cooldowns after missing.
(Also yes before people are like, "but solo queue is worse than any killer they should get buffs", I agree, it takes time I mean people waited 4 years for ds to be changed. It's not other people's fault that it takes time, so don't go blaming random people lol if you are so mad about the lack of solo survivor changes complain to the devs.)
I agree Legion is in the best spot since release, but they're still a very weak killer. Legion's true strength will only come once CoH isn't used every trial

Can I ask why you decided to put Billy in C?

I actually understand your "joke" believe it or not, because even though I'm a homo, I have critical thinking skills. It's honestly just very tone deaf to say that "it shouldn't matter they're just pixels, who cares, yada yada". It matters to us, the community, because we've had to grow up without seeing people like us in the media we consume. It means there's a stigma that being LGBT+ isn't "normal" when it 100% is. Putting queer characters in media destigmatises being LGBT+ to a large scale and it's a very important step in combating homophobia and transphobia.
Even if you choose to ignore all that, maybe take your own advice, if they're just pixels after all, why do you care if David is gay or not?

And why is he still straight in your book? When it's now canon he isn't? It seems very immature to want to leave these sort of things to people's imagination when it's important to have clear representation.

-
I've honestly never understood people who get mad at EGC camping. What else is the killer supposed to do? Both gates are 99'd, all survivors are healthy bar 1 on the hook. You cannot leave the hook or you are giving up a kill. There is no other objective for the killer to stop. Gens are done, doors are ready. The only thing left is kill whoever is on hook. And even then, if you're playing an m1 killer, the whole squad shows up to bodyblock and BT save.

Seems like the only people who have a problem with this are straight people
Maybe check yourself as to why it bothers you so much that David is gay

All perks should be basekit with 20% strength of Tier3.
Perks should be enhance what players can already do, not unlock a new abilities (unless its stun, exhaustion & expose, speed boost... perks).
I would love Killer after a hook can Kick a Gen drop instantly 5%, first survivor touching the Gen gets an Over charge skill check (with DS difficult) without using any perk.
The new player experience for DBD is already awful, this would make it insanely complicated

I have a ton of autohaven offerings on him, ill have to start using some

I don't like the totem spawns enough to use Ruin on Ormond. They spawn up on a hill or right next to the giant rock too often and are gone in under 30 seconds sometimes
I never mentioned the vice versa, so let's not make assumptions here and start yet another survivor vs killer argument thread. I am a killer main after all. As a whole, I think using map offerings to take yourself to the best map possible is boring. Because most maps are poorly designed and can be exploited by survivors or specific killers.
-

Agreed, versing Blight is boring enough, let alone when they send you to a map you have no chance on lmao

Honestly, it's not even the perks that bother me at this point. I am sick of poorly designed maps that are already near impossible to win with killer without dead hard even being used.
-
Yeah, I have barely played for months. Killer isn't fun anymore. Neither is survivor tbh. Dead Hards everywhere, boons going up everywhere, terrible maps being release (RPD, Eyrie), MMR sucks, and Sadako is one the worst killers who I can't even try to have fun with because she's so weak.
That's just top of the list, there's so many more things that keep me from playing as much as I used to.

I'd take her mobility over a slightly better condemned, mobility is so huge especially if you can macro your gameplay.
Alot of tough games I have only won due to my ability to teleport causing huge pressure especially on bigger maps.
Like I said I'd only want a better condemned if the tvs stay on. Shed be worse as a basic M1 with no map control
Edit: slowdown isnt everything, her tapes equal the worst experience for pig, think how weak pig is due to her rng and sadako shows you which tv to take it too
Well, adding to her RNG, Pig is also weak because she has no mobility. I'd say Sadako is stronger because of her ability to teleport around the map. I'd gladly take the teleport over reverse bear traps.

The Game was killer sided for years. Taste the other side.
It's this kind of mentality that pushes negativity between survivor and killer mains. Is it really that hard to take an unbiased look at The Game and realise it is definitely not fair for killers?
Or, by your logic, we switch everything around, then the only survivor-sided maps would be Dead Dawg's Saloon and Shelter Woods. That'd be pretty fun, right?
-
To be honest, I read the first page of responses but not the rest. There is so much going on here, but I will say I think many people tend to group up "player skill" with "killer's power".
Obviously, someone like Otz or any content creator who plays this game for a living CAN (keyword CAN, not WILL), make lower tier kills looks extremely strong and oppressive. But let's disregard that and look at things objectively (and for the sake of argument, I am assuming the killers are not using add-ons).
The killer's powers are often separated into:
Chase potential & map pressure.
A killer's ability to end chases quickly and/or have map pressure determines their strength among the roster. In a 'healthy' state of balance, killers who have strong chase potential (think Clown, Deathslinger, etc.) do not have mobility to pressure the far corners of the map, and vice versa. Killers with map pressure but weak chase potential are things like Wraith, Freddy, Onryo, etc.
Not all of those killers are 'strong', but their powers make sense because they have clear weaknesses to exploit.
Whereas let's look at our friend Blight. Who can, with the right skill level, end chases extremely quickly, and also dash to anywhere he wants on the map extremely fast. Obviously, Blight would be more viable in higher tiers of play because he has both of these qualities. A lot of the time, when you escape against a Blight, it's because they misplayed on some part. Whereas Myers is at the hands of the survivors. If he gets a 4k, it's because the survivors made mistakes.
Taking all that into account, it should be easy to have an unbiased view on which killers are strong or not (think of how good they potentially are if the killer player plays perfect). I do think the word 'viable' isn't quite right to use, because 99% of DBD games are casual, and not the 1% of tournament games where it matters. But in MMR, you would more than not go against optimal survivors who can easily exploit the weaker killer's weaknesses, so yeah, the stronger killers seemed more viable than others because sometimes they were the only chance of getting a few kills.

I assume you're not dumb like me and will get through it faster. I like to use almost all of my characters add-ons and stuff before I prestige them, because I'd hate to waste all that bp I spent, which is eventually gonna cause me to hit the bp cap faster than I can use up everything on a character, thus either wasting bp or feeding the problem into itself infinitely.
I haven't presitged any killers so I'm not worried about using their add-ons, but when I prestige survivors I make sure to use all the good bloodpoint offerings (BPS and cakes usually, and if I am playing with friends I will go through the bound envelopes too). But other than those, I am okay with throwing away all the other things I have, I just don't wanna feel like I am wasting all those possible extra bloodpoints haha
-
Yep. After 1.5k hours, I have 3 survivors at P3-50 all perks, and no other character in the game have I prestiged. Because I am still getting perks for my killers, who I doubt will ever get prestiged because then I lose all the perks on them and have to spend another 1 million points at least to get decent perks.

Over exaggerating over their one bad match. A angry mob starts everyone joins in they grab their pitchforks and torches and start screaming nerfs.
It was the same with spirit before she got her changes. No body wants to learn from their mistakes they just want to blame something or someone instead of learning from them and getting better.
I'm not surprised at all that someone who thinks pre-rework Spirit was fine, also thinks Dead Hard doesn't need nerfing. You're showing your lack of cognitive thinking
-
I don't know if I'd call this "better". My killer games kept giving me survivors who are literally brand new (lowest I saw was 8 hours in-game). Most of my games the survivors had 100-300 hours, and I have nearly 1.5k. Pretty much all games bar a few were complete stomps, and wasn't fun for me nor the survivors.
In saying that, I do not want to go back to the MMR testing because having an enjoyable experience as killer in that was near impossible, I just think a nice in-between of current matchmaking and the prior MMR tests would be good.

Okay, first of all thank you for clarifying that this thread is not for me. And this it not sarcasm, this is honest.
I will however ask you one question: What kind of meta do you want?
I get that you dislike second chance perks. However every time a new "strong" perk is implemented (Cycle of Healing, Boil Over, Shadowstep, Mettle of Men...) there are also complains even if those perks change the things you face. In order to overthrow the meta a new "most effective tactic available" has to be introduced after all.
A meta where it isn't the same group of 6 or 7 different perks on all 4 survivors would be a good start. Nerf the outrageously obnoxious ones (Dead Hard with new validation, Circle of Healing which killed hit and run playstyles and forces hardcore tunnelling) and buff a ######### tonne of the useless ones that are currently never ever seeing use.
Not hard at all.

How is this reportable?
Bodyblocking the Gideon bathroom is extremely common and why wouldn't a Plague stand at the doorway to get THREE survivors fully infected + broken? If she then does nothing, you can do the gen and the door on the wall will open giving you a way out if the killer still stands in the doorway.
I see no issue here.

Because killers are still stomping survivors left and right, kill rates are above 50% and Otz experiment showed that killers can 3K + perk/addonless.
Just say you want your easy 4k, come on
Have you actually played killer at a high MMR recently? I'm hearing boons appear left and right, and survivors know exactly how to abuse them. I never want an easy 4k, that is boring. However, it is also boring chasing survivors who hold W to get to their CoH/Shadowstep boon.
How about you stop making assumptions about who I am as a player and contribute something meaningful to the discussion instead of being condescending?

Can we acknowledge a difference between Boon totems and CoH?
Exponential isn't problematic at all and is quite weak imho.
Shadowstep is open to interpretation (I hate it more than CoH personally)
Maybe Exponential isn't a problem like CoH and Shadowstep. I also hate Shadowstep more than CoH.
My main problem with them is being infinite use and so easy to get up and going. As a killer, if a survivor runs into Shadowstep range, I have to actively drop the chase to find the totem because any decent survivor will be able to lose the killer with no scratch marks. And by the time I am able to find someone else, another Shadowstep is up somewhere.
I would love it if the killer destroyed the totem when stomping boons. Still has at least 4 other spots for it then.

The devs posted this week that they aren't overlooking Circle of Healing, they're just still gathering data on it. Basically they have a process where they release something, collect data for at least a few months to give things time to settle a bit, and then make a balance pass. We're still in the stage where they're collecting data while things settle when it comes to Mikaela and her perks and add-ons, including Circle of Healing and Boons in general. So maybe we'll see something in the patch around March? 🤷♂️
Realistically boons should have been changed ages ago. BHVR just refuses to listen to people. They don't need to spend months and months collecting data. It's extremely obvious they need nerfs.
-
No. It needs nerfing. It's the biggest "######### you" to the killer when the survivor loses a mind-game or misplays and uses Dead Hard to get to a pallet or window to fix their mistake.
-
I have almost entirely stopped playing killer since MMR was introduced. Every game is extremely sweaty. "Wins" don't feel rewarding because of how I am forced to play in order to get kills. And for some reason having a high MMR on one killer ups the base of other killers MMR. I haven't touched Pig in months and months, and then my first game as her with MMR on was against thousands upon thousands of hours survivors. I only really play survivor SWF with my friends now, it's basically the only way to have any sort of enjoyable experience playing DBD nowadays.
-
Yeah, I've barely played since this year's Halloween update came out. Half the games are infinite loading screens, playing killer with MMR is extremely unfun 90% of the time, and most maps are just too survivor sided anyway.
-

PS: The semi-infinite of the interrogation rooms should be removed.
this is the main problem, the map has been out long enough that most survivors know the gen spawns, and at the very least a rough layout of the map and where loops are. it was doable upon release since survs had no idea of anything, but it's changed now.
