Surprised no one has said Twins yet. As SoloQ, the slugging and camping nature of Victor just makes the game incredibly boring. And most people don't know how to correctly play against it, so it's usually an automatic 4k for the killer.
-
It seems like a very selfish perk, though I can understand it's use. With BT being base-kit, it does make it difficult for the killer to go after either one of the survivors. However, I see this perk + Guardian being a good combo for both survivors to make it away from unsafe hook saves.
I might actually use it in an unhook build though. Background Player, Borrowed Time, Desperate Measures, and Guardian sound like a cool combination.

Purely opinion, and imo, a wrong one. FFS its like people think their brain can surmise everything and everyone has to accept it.
I play trapper, and will happily crush any team you can send my way. I wont run gen perks and Ill stomp your team into the ground. Or hook. Whatever.
I promise you cannot get more than a 1k against a comp team of survivors. Trapper is an objectively awful killer. Your experience in public games against random survivors does not mean much.

Even if they take dead hard out the game.. killers are going to complain about something.. next it will be nerf sprint burst.. then nerf medkits.. then "it should be a 2v1 not 4v1"... "why do survivors have 2 health states"... "survivors shouldnt have perks"... killers are the strongest they ever been and ya still complain
Play some killer at high MMR and get back to me

In the current era of DBD, if you are a really good player, you can absolutely win most of your matches regardless of build. By playing good macro, applying pressure to the correct areas and not auto-piloting, you can succeed.
Before you accuse me of lying, please note that I said most, not all of your matches. Sometimes, RNG can screw you over. Other times, your opponents are better than you. Sometimes, they're running full meta. It happens, but that's not the norm.
Realistically, unless you're playing Nurse/Blight/Spirit, you will only win if the survivors aren't great, or they're screwed by awful map RNG. On a level playing field (all 5 players are equally skilled, the map is "fair" e.g. Coal Tower), no killer is gonna get more than a 2k except the top 3.

It's people with 200-500 hours on the game who still face survivors that panic vault on a jungle gym dropped pallet, everyone knows that against decent or even average survivors who just sit on gens and don't do meaningless stuff, it's very hard to win with them.
Yep, exactly why I learned Nurse. Whenever I get fed up with map balance, I just play a few games with her to feel better.

Fair enough. Map balance absolutely is a problem too. I’d love for killers like Pig, Trapper, Myers, and Sadako to get looked at, but map design is definitely one of the biggest issues in the game right now and the worst part is it hasn’t gotten much better recently. Yeah, Eyrie is a bit better now, but we’ve still had several bad maps released over the last couple of years. Original RPD, original Eyrie, Garden of Joy, and now Shattered Square. Personally I’m at a point now where I don’t want new maps anymore until existing problematic maps are improved.
Yep, I used to main Pig. But change after change, it just wasn't fun anymore. Now I mostly play Huntress or Nurse. Personally I don't think the Eyrie change did much at all. The map is still huge, riddled with safe pallets, and has an extremely strong main building. I agree with you, I'd rather have map balance changes/reworks than new maps. Garden of Joy and Decimated Borgo are 2 of the worst maps they've ever made (especially GoJ, I die a little inside every time I load into it as killer).
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
If one perk was singlehandedly keeping weak killers afloat as you said, then something is wrong with that perk. Weak killers are in need of buffs to their power, not a perk that makes them look okay when they’re really not and makes stronger killers incredibly oppressive.
Again, please read other comments. I wanted Eruption nerfed as much as the next guy. But there is nothing being done to help m1 killers. Power buffs would be nice, but I think a better thing is map balance. I would like it if people stopped misinterpreting this post lol. I never said I wanted to keep Eruption as is. I just pointed out m1 killers have almost nothing left.
-
Personally I'm going to dislike if they're just re-using things from Meet Your Maker. Crossover makes sense, just not something I'd call creative. Main thing is as long as the killer's fun, I don't really mind too much what it is.
-
And here I am getting told off in another thread that m1 killers are fine; that the Eruption nerf doesn't change them much. Forums never cease to amaze me.
-
@Nazzzak said:
Eruption only really took off in the last few months. What did you do before then? There are many M1 killers that need some sort of rework, no doubt, but Eruption isn't the answer. Especially since we've known for several months that perk shake-ups are going to be the norm now.
If you read the other comments, I already stated I wanted Eruption nerfed. Not gutted. I am not saying it's the answer. I am simply pointing out that M1 killers are being left in the dust.
Before then, we had Pop. Then it was nerfed and made awful. Before that, it was Ruin/Undying. It was also completely gutted. It's an endless cycle.
Pain Res and DMS have also been nerfed since release.

Are M1 killers really gone, or do you just rely on eruption too much?
I do not even use the Erup/CoB combo, I am just being objective here. M1 killers already struggle enough, now their best form of regression is completely dead. I wanted Eruption nerfs, not for it to be gutted. Thanks for your meaningful input though.

tbh most chances are, that someone who says "I don't need regression perks on m1 killer" plays on a low mmr. even from medium mmr when survivors learn to not be scared from the killer, gens can fly and fly fast even if you get down pretty reliably.
Yes, which is my point exactly, they are not viable. Eruption nerf makes them even worse. And there's nothing being done to make them better.
-
@KingFieldShipper said:
Posts like this are so weird to me. Eruption is not the only good regression perk that was in the game, and you didn’t even need it to win as a m1 killer. I’m going to be honest, I don’t even use gen kick perks on any m1 killer… or any killer for that matter, and I literally do just fine in the majority of my matches.
Although, funnily enough, if people are face camping with dms/agi/pain res, they are wasting 3 perk slots on any survivor team that is actually in any way good.
What other good regression perks are there? They are all either inconsistent at best or benefit killers who are already strong.
Pain Res/DMS combo is good for killers who can get fast downs and then pressure survivors off gens (Nurse, Blight, Artist). DMS timer is extremely short anyway.
Ruin, while having awful regression, is only good for killers with strong map-wide pressure (Blight). But it just gets cleansed anyway.
Jolt is, again, a perk that benefits killers who get faster downs. But it's inconsistent as most maps are huge and the chance of getting a down close enough to gen with meaningful progress is few and far between.
Deadlock and Corrupt become the most consistent options, but they aren't enough for m1 killers to be relevant.
And honestly I am sick of people saying "I don't use x, so it's fine". Objectively, m1 killers are awful. And so are most of the regression perks. Eruption was keeping them afloat, and now they're going to sink next update.

Killers wanted camping and tunnelling protected above all else, so that's where we're at.
And are these 'killers' in the room with us now? Absolutely no one wanted this, we want more perk variety to be viable and for weaker killers to have buffs to be viable. That is all.
-
Pretty much all of her purple add-ons are good. Not exciting, but very good. I personally like Matias' Baby Shoes (survivor aura reading near birds) for anti-loop, it takes away the guessing of when to send it out. And like you said, Severed Hands is probably her best add-on. But Ink Egg and Severed Tongue are still great too, just not my preference.
My usual build is BBQ, DMS, Deadlock and Pain Res. For obvious reasons, BBQ synergises with DMS and Pain Res. I use Deadlock as well because my playstyle is kinda scummy. You can keep survivors off gens extremely well by also proxy-camping the hook with Severed Hands + DMS + Deadlock. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it's what I used and did when I was learning Artist and it still almost never fails me now.
Plus, you could always try some other add-on combos. Festering Carrion + Velvet Fabric is decent if you like to try and snipe survivors. A nice aura reading perk build would go well with this, something like Lethal, BBQ, Pain Res, DMS, or whatever you fancy.
Realistically she doesn't have any gameplay-changing add-ons, just things to boost certain playstyles. But I think she's fun regardless.

I'm not crazy right? This is still bull that I've got to wait for the whole timer as the killer dances around? Why are people acting like this is a good thing? Haha let's say he hasn't closed it now I'm just slowly so slowly crawling around till I find it just to have him\her close it. How is that not stoping my progress there is nothing I can do. Can I at least bleed out faster?
Mate you're mad now, there didn't even used to be an end-game timer. You should be extremely thankful you didn't play in those times. Just accept the bleed out, go on your phone for 4 minutes, watch something on a 2nd monitor. The game is progressing and that is not hostage taking. No amount of you whinging about it taking too long is gonna change anything.

Because of the 40m warning zone survivors get for one
Because huntresses, especially good ones are good at chases that playing gen defence is a waste. Quick downs will beat any slowdown perk, even eruption
Because Eruption isn't all that great on standerd 115 killers without mobility either, about the same really
I do find it kinda odd that we agree that eruption is bad on her but you're arguing with me, cause you think my reasoning for it is wrong?
Even though you just did the math and realised it's only a second difference every 100m
How far do you think gens are appart that that one second difference is going to add up to anything substantial?
So if we both agree Eruption is bad on her, why did you initially reply to my post? You started this lol
-
Leon's definitely are usually the worst, but I'm gonna also say Rebecca players seem to think they're really good but don't last long in chase. At least from what I see.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:

Yes which translates to 1 second slower over a 100 meters
And 100 metres of walking is about 21-22 seconds for killer, which is barely any game time at all. It all adds up over the match. If you're playing to kick gens with Huntress, you're playing her ineffectively and probably going to lose. I say this as a Huntress main.
You said Eruption is bad on her but not because she's 110, and then don't say why. Just leads me to believe you don't actually have a reason for it.
-
The thing about Huntress is, Eruption is terrible on her. You don't have time being 110 to kick gens. So she is double screwed by the current Erup/DH meta.
-
Nah, I'm suiciding on hook after the Blight slugs 2 of my teammates in 30 seconds and then downs and hooks me while the 2 slugs are still on the ground. Certain games are not worth the time or effort for anyone.
-
I'm an OCE player and while a lot of the time Killer has a BP bonus, I've seen it heaps on survivor.
Plus, you say "realistically Killer should never have the BP bonus" which is just plain wrong. It's just a fact that more people play survivor than killer, it makes sense the bonus is usually on killer.

Have you seen the DBD Twitter? You'd be surprised at what "we" have been asking for. I'd also say that only Eruption needs a nerf, although I might like to see Overcharge changed as well. I don't find it too strong, but I do think it punishes newer players far too much for how easy it is to apply.
You do have a chance against good Survivors as people other than Nurse or Blight, even lower-level comp teams. Besides, that's almost irrelevant as you won't get those teams hardly ever. Likewise, I'm pretty sure OP implied that if you aren't Nurse or Blight, you aren't gonna have a good time after this patch.
I feel as though you are purposely avoiding the entire point of the OP. It's not about Nurse or Blight being the best, or CoB/Eruption/Nowhere to Hide being strong, it's about how they're taking away the only viable slowdown for ######### m1 killers and NOT having compensating nerfs for the survivor side, or at least buffing said ######### m1 killers.
Without CoB/Eruption/Nowhere to Hide, we are left with Pain Resonance and DMS, slowdown perks which benefit killers who are already strong and end chases quick. They are extremely inconsistent if not just useless for killers like Trapper, Myers, Pig, etc. who can't get downs before 3 gens pop. What is left for them once Eruption is nerfed into the ground? Meanwhile, Prove Thyself and toolboxes with BNP are seen in 2/3 games without being changed. Awesome work BHVR.
-
Yes, we do care about getting rid of ######### awful map design. The devs however just wanna pump out new chapters and cosmetics instead of balancing the game

"Not much to look forward to if you aren't a PC Blight or Nurse player!"
That was the line I was referencing.
Also, the OP is complaining that low-tier Killers can't compete against good teams without being carried by perks. Doesn't that mean the perks were way too strong if they were compensating for poor Killer balancing? Shouldn't we nerf those perks and take a look at those Killers instead?
I mean, he didn't say you can't 4k as not Nurse or Blight though? Wesker is also not a killer that needs to run CoB/Eruption/Nowhere to Hide to have a chance. It's just an irrelevant point to bring up. And let's not pretend like you have a chance against really good survivors unless you're one of the big 2 killers.
Plus, no one is saying that the perks don't need nerfing, they do (although I'd argue only Eruption needs a nerf, the other 2 perks are only relevant because of Eruption being strong). We all know low-tier dumpster killers need buffing. You say "shouldn't WE take a look at those killers instead" like we as a community haven't been begging for buffs to them for years? This is just because BHVR is lazy, not because we haven't been asking for it.
-
@Pulsar said:
POV: I use one slowdown on Wesker and 4K, am I a PC Blight?
I wouldn't exactly put Wesker in the same category as regular m1 killers though. He has mobility and an m2 that has built-in slowdown by making survivors spray off the infection. Let's not act like killers such as Trapper and Myers are the "same" as Wesker.
Also OP said low-tier m1 killers, so, definitely not Wesker lmao
-
If maps were actually balanced, offerings wouldn't be a problem. Removing them just makes it impossible to do actually fun builds like Scratched Mirror Myers (who needs a Lery's offering), etc. I'd rather they fix map balance than remove stuff.
-
I would say you get more variety out of Slinger - because he can make use of m1 perks like Sloppy, STBFL, etc. and stealth builds are way more effective (against competent survivors) since he doesn't have a lullaby. I'm a Huntress main, but I feel like she doesn't have much diversity in terms of builds. It's either aura reading and/or gen slowdown.
I personally don't think either killer is as clunky as people make them seem, it just takes some getting used to (and as long as you're okay spending a lot of time in-game reloading). Slinger can hit some CRAZY shots over certain loops and in-between little gaps that no one ever seems to expect, but at the same time certain latency issues can make some shots hit directly on the survivor but it doesn't register and they keep running away.
In terms of add-ons, Huntress definitely has more "fun" ones. Or at least, add-ons that can "replace" certain perks (like the reload speed is interchangeable with Iron Maiden). My personal favourite is the aura reading purple add-on mixed with Lethal Pursuer. Deathslinger add-ons are just... reload speed, mangled, etc. Not very interesting. And the Iri add-on that inflicts exposed over 14m or something is so rare to get off I just can't seem to justify using it.
My vote would be, if you want variety like you said before, 100% Slinger. If you want more wins but more 'repetitive' gameplay, then Huntress.

"That's it?"?
That's some pretty fundamental changes.
Longer patrols are now worth setting instead of just dropping at a loop. With faster guards and haste.
Survivors don't see the orb.
5% regression!
Sure, they're nice buffs. But Knight will still be a pretty awful killer. They could've made some more significant changes. Especially considering his playstyle is extremely boring for both sides.

Decimated Borgo is probably the most stupid, unbalanced, boring map ever made and the most recent. If they have just released something so messy and terrible, i have no hope they will fix maps in the future. Let's see Eyre rework but i'm sure it will be still a mess, filled with god pallets over and over
Yeah I agree, I have absolutely 0 faith that the reworked Eyrie will make any significant difference in gameplay, especially if main building remains untouched.
-
My main gripe with Eruption in it's current state is it is yet another perk that absolutely shits on solo queue survivors, and does virtually nothing to SWFs on comms. As if solo queue isn't miserable enough, this gen kick build just makes it seemingly unwinnable. You lose so much time while erupted, while people on comms just say "about to go down" and everyone hops off the gens until they're down.
Not sure about other people, but to me the Ruin/Undying meta seems fun compared to this.
-
As Twins, I just leave them bleed on the ground. There is nothing you can if you down with Victor and they're under a pallet with Power Struggle. Just focus on the other survivors.
-
Yep, most maps are awful for killer. I just wish the devs would dedicate more time to balancing them; there's probably only like, 4 maps that are killer-sided off the top of my head, compared to other 20+ survivor sided ones.

Have you ever tried running 4 slowdowns? Or 3 with Nowhere to Hide?
Running those and camping a three gen works extremely well, although it is pretty boring.
Hens333 has a video on how to hold the game hostage with it, you can watch that to understand yhe basics. Just, dont hold the game hostage...
Yes, the only games that aren't absolutely awful are CoB/Eruption games which I'm trying to steer away from since I find it boring from both sides. I've been mainly using a hex focused build with Plaything, Pentimento and Face the Darkness (+ Corrupt) which I think is decent, but pretty inconsistent. Nothing seems to beat a mix of CoB/Eruption/Deadlock/Pain Resonance when it comes to slowdown.
I do enjoy Hens' videos but for some reason I've avoided that one, I'll give it a watch.
-
God forbid you have to play differently against Nurse instead of holding W and pulling pallets down!
I don't understand people who hate versing Nurse. I love it because it's different and challenging (if the Nurse is at least decent).
One big thing I've noticed playing as Nurse is most survivors are too predictable. They use the same mind-games every chance they get. The key to beating Nurse is being as unpredictable as possible. Literally, even if it seems stupid, if it's a mind-game you haven't done so far that trial, do it. If you're positioning properly, the Nurse will have to prediction blink most of the time, and so you can waste a lot of time by moving in really weird ways.
Leave gens extremely early. If you hear a heartbeat, leave the gen. People give way too many free hits by staying on gens until the Nurse blinks on top of them. You will win more games if you don't give a Nurse free hits, it is not worth it for that extra 5-10% gen progress.
Break LOS literally every chance you get, it does NOT have to be at a tile with a pallet and/or window. Use the rocks, trees, EVERYTHING to stop her from seeing you. A lot of survivors tend to run to pallets or windows, even against Nurse, and sacrifice distance to get there. This is a mistake. Forcing the Nurse to blink to catch up to you wastes a lot of time, rather than taking a risk and hoping she messes up using her blinks to hit you at a jungle gym.
One last thing: try and abuse the best parts of whatever map you're playing on. Obviously some maps are way easier for Nurse (Midwich), but make sure you identify a spot on the map that is the best place to loop her. If you're on Coal Tower for example, the long line of tiles that go from main building to shack is a really difficult spot for Nurses to try and chase survivors. There are so many walls and LOS breakers that, unless the survivor positions wrong, the Nurse is forced to prediction blink nearly every time, or just drop the chase altogether. This is the same reason maps like RPD is hell for Nurse.
Basically, a TL;DR is: Don't be predictable. Leave gens early. Break LOS every chance you get. Abuse the map to your advantage.
-
Not nearly as much as I used to. It's really sad how popular and common Demo used to be, only for him to turn into a rarity once the licence was pulled. And to be honest, I also used to play a lot of Demo, but since he was removed from the store, I haven't felt the urge to play him :/

Unpopular Opinion:
Wraith is my main and Im fine with the last nerf! I've been playing him since 2017 when he was really weak. He wasn't OP before the last nerf, but he's still viable. The only thing that has changed is that I almost always have Swift Hunt with me and I have to do more body blocking with him. My success rate is almost unchanged. I can take on the toughest sweat groups with him without stressing myself because Wraith is relatively easy to play compared to other killers.
In retrospect, I'm even happy about the nerf for two reasons:
- Every noob killer played him and he was a noobstomper. In Solo Q I've seen him in 80% of my matches for a while... it was annoying. He had the same pick rate like reworked Freddy. And I personally like to play the underrated underdogs like Doc, Artist, Billy, Old Freddy, Myers or Sadako
- The nerf wasn't that hard given what they did to Deathslinger. So I hope they will never touch my Wraith again.
With respect, Artist and Billy are not "underrated underdogs". Low play rate =/= bad. They're strong killers, even in high MMR, if played correctly.

I'm not upset, I am disappointed in this community for having such illegitimate concerns and entitlement to expect conventionally attractive survivors for every single chapter. These are most likely the same people who whinged and cried upon Trickster's release because BHVR "is focusing too much on making attractive characters for sales instead of making a good horror game!". No, they aren't under an obligation to make Survivors extremely attractive. I don't think they have either.
Does that mean Quentin and Nea weren't kinda horrific? No, and people even mained them because of it.
People are giving feedback that they don't like how this Survivor is designed. If you like it, give your own feedback, don't get upset at others for them not liking what you like.
What "feedback" is in this thread? Let me literally quote you what people are saying:
"goofy"
"pretty rough"
"less attractive"
"ew"
"ugly"
"looks awful"
"looks like a witch"
"looks like Shrek"
None of this is legitimate feedback on character design, just some people who think they're entitled for BHVR to make characters they think are attractive.
-

How dare people say they don't like something ig?
There's a difference between not liking something and being extremely superficial and disappointed/angry over a character you don't think is attractive. It's honestly so pathetic. And the fact you're defending it as "not liking it" is just as bad. BHVR is under no obligation to make every survivor extremely attractive.
-
Um, that's not how it works.
Think of it being the exact same as it is now. Except, when you prestige, all your characters unlock the teachable perks automatically if they don't have it. Forever.
And if you already have perks unlocked on those characters for other characters you HAVEN'T prestiged, they still keep them, provided you wait until the rework where you KEEP everything upon prestiging.
