I still have to figure out how to consistently hit with blights rush (after figuring out how to hit with it at all XD, too used to billy or oni).
And yesterday I played clown for the first time after his speed bottle rework and I think they increased the time for the button press until the reload process starts and I fumbled it multiple times.
Oh and the best one is accidentally tbagging with ghostface because I mix up his action buttons after a long break from dbd. Sadly also often when trying to pick up a survivor, I didn't mean to disrespect 😅

So again I ask what the hells the point? If you cant even track it how do we even know where we are? Its so pointless.
Placebo effect. They say they are doing something that they can do without really making any effort or use resources outside of the department responsible for skin creating and implementation.
-
The problem is that only deactivating sloppy is only a drop on a hot stone.
All kind of effects are maybe having the same problematic effect. Even killer powers like docs shock or clowns gas effect and so one.
They would have to deacitvate all screen effects to aliviate the problem and I don't know if they could even if they wanted.

Or, you know, they could... Do what was promised and try to optimize the game in any way at all?
While that would be the way to go, the PS4 and Xbox one(?) are already out of fashion. The next gen is out and behaviour didn't manage what they promised when these consoles were state of the art.
Now when they are "dieing" (I have not idea how fast last gen consoles go out of service from their publisher) they won't make the effort and simply hope to avoid the topic with silence/ignorance until the console is completely dropped and the topic simply forgotten.
They will hopefully manage to fix the bugs that are currently breaking console performance but in my eyes this would only be to weather the storm of dissatisfaction and return to the silent treatment of pleas for optimization.

Well it keeps changing, iv owned the game since release but I dont think anyone will wait some of these lengths. I do wish I could play later on, 6pm onwards tend to be more chill as more player get on etc.
Yeah queue times get more chill but the gameplay itself (outside of the current situation) gets tougher. 3+ swf become kind of standard after 8/9/10pm on nearly all ranks. I know that from experience after the reset bug put me from purple/red back into yellow and I check profiles for my own curiosity.

Crossplay on, EU, was about 10am for me.

3, I'm usually rank 1 but I dont fancy waiting so long just for a single game. I kinda want to get my challenges done as I was away before but no way am I waiting 10-30mins a game. Even when I did I had dcs and load fails
Same but i play after 8pm. From what I gather off this forum, it is normal for eu to be fast survivor in the morning and fast killer in the evening but not to the extend of 30 minutes for killer.
-
And another discussion about queue time without any comparable variables like time of day or region.😑
Edit: Ah i forgot the variable of crossplay and if off, the platform.

Sorry but it isn't "entitled" to point out the complete lack of gameplay as the survivor who is being camped. This is a game we paid for and damn right EXPECT to get to play. Except you can't do anything when you're a random getting camped at 5 gens by some POS. Killers like you are always the biggest hypocrites. I bet you complain about SWF and safe loops. But face camping is okay? Exactly.
Oh and PLEASE do. It will only further promote the issue and speed up the eventualy death of camping that will eventually happen.
Wow imagine being angry enough to rant against someone with an obvious sarcastic post.
Btw "/s" is the indication for sarcasm.

Sadly it's not the community, it's people in general. You'll find this elsewhere too.
Yeah give them anonymity and take away most fear of prosecution and they will show you how they really can be. As if none of them had a proper education/upbringing. 😩

It'd be pretty cool if we could signal "FARM GAME?" somehow. That way people who want a regular game can back out, and people who want to farm can do that.
Sadly it wouldn't even take a day for the inherent scumbags to abuse that too, whichever side.
I have never seen a better scene for the phrase "That's why we can't have nice things!" than dbd atm.
Neither side wants to back down to ease up and ultimately discourages even the last of the "nice" people to either join the wheel of doom or quit.
Edit: I still hate overzealous autocorrect.

That sounds strangely familiar to my experiences so far, lol.
In a ton of survivor rounds I've played in two days, I think we had a whopping one killer who farmed, no matter how many cake offerings were present. We had mostly ones who played "normal", which is fine -- farming is not expected, but a nice surprise when it happens. We definitely had a number of tunnelers or face-campers, though -- definitely more than usual (a special shout out to the Oni who, with 4 cakes in the lobby, ran the wall-hack build, sent us to Lery's, and mercilessly slugged the 4K at 4 gens).
My killer rounds, I've WANTED to be nicer. My Pig rounds, I've brought cakes/BPS with the idea that, playing as THE killer who is most likely to meme, survivors would at least want to see if I was up for it. Considering I've started every match non-aggresively, crouching and oinking to try to coax a Snoot Boop to signal a farm-fest, I would have thought at least ONE group would have been up for it with so many BP there for the taking in games with literally 4-5 cakes/BPS. The number of survivor groups to play along? Zero. But I did get taunting and teabagging from at least one, which literally made me wonder why someone would want to antagonize a killer purposefully when so many potential BP were there for the taking (spoilers: that didn't go well for that survivor, lol).
It's only two days in, but I definitely feel like there were less players on both sides going all-out last year than there have been so far this year.
Sometimes I have the suspicion that the doubling of players on PC is not a sign of people coming back to dbd because of the re chapter or to celebrate the 5 year event but to "celebrate" it by ruining it for everybody else. Which led to the community as a whole turning into even more of a swamp of toxicity.
-
Survivor don't like either. Spirit offers them not enough tells about what she is doing and when. Docs static blast and the madness screen effects with everything going on there is also hated.
So if you main one of those two don't expect s very warm welcome from the other side.
Edit: I am personally going to focus on Oni (curious how long I will last, can't stick to one thing for very long, neither character nor game). Some people on this forum mentioned that he is not played much and he is also one of the killer without too much outside dependence. Standard 115 m1 killer without power but becomes a better maneuverable billy (except his smash) with it.

It's not about ranks necessarily it's about the fact that it was like my fifth match and I got put with good/veteran players and that I had no hopes of winning (the guy I killed felt bad and let me kill him) since then I have played 1 more match and still the same bs 2 rank 18 survivors with purple perks so I'm pretty sure they were suffering cause of rank reset and a rank 9 survivor so I couldn't do #########, I couldn't even camp the guy I managed to get hooked
it's just ######### for a new player
It's the problem with a player base that is not 4:1 divided but probably closer to 8:1 coupled with a matchmaking that is opted for speed rather than accuracy.
The matchmaking right now has a really low tolerance in terms of time until it broadens the search parameter aka the amount of ranks upwards and downwards it pairs together.
Before the resident evil chapter there was and most probably is soon again a sever shortage of killer, so survivor have to wait rather long and at some point the matchmaking system just takes the next available killer to match with no regard for anything.
-
@van9684 said:
Agreed. I think a survivors hook time meter should freeze if a killer is within so many meters. So many killer players only care about a 4K and their gaming experience, and then play victim when called out. Hate to see it. Good post.

Well that's possible just like it would be possible with a DC penalty. I think you could DC like 3 times before it gave you a 5 min penalty.
Only once or twice. I only intentionally dc'ed once (several years ago) but had two crashes/disconnects a few months ago on the same evening and got the penalty after the second disconnect.

Think about this:
Don't forget about the rounds were not many cakes were played. If they havent taken anything with them themselfs they can just search again for a full lobby of cakes.
Might be the same paranoia Problem like the matchmaking. Will I get a group/killer that are/is chill or tryhard?
This might spiral out of control in a similar fashion until "noone" uses the cakes anymore.
-
This simply shows that every last online pvp game that is based on small teams must have a dc penalty.
Of course at the moment part of those dc is /might be because of the new chapter disaster but a not insignificant amount is just abusing the absence of the penalty because they can.

As the title says. I think it could help mitigate at least a small amount of the hate and toxicity in this game.
I've seen loads of post game chats that are filled with hate and slurs. Survivors blaming one another, salty killers spamming stupid stuff to make themselves feel better for not performing as well as they would've liked to.
It's not necessary to have end game chat to make the game good, but it could help alleviate some of the issues surrounding toxicity in this community.
Just my thoughts anyway. Anybody have a solid reason as to why end game chat needs to stay? I'm curious to hear the differing opinions ☺️
You know that they implemented the option for each individual to simply close post game chat indefinitely?
While I agree that toxicity is a symptom of missing maturity and the abuse of the anonymity in the internet and hiding behind aliases, the individual ability of ignoring or avoiding it (hiding chat in any game) should not be an excuse for such behaviour or anything more than a bandaid fix.

I accept people who wait at the exit as a legitimate tactic to try and pull the killer's attention away from who's left in the arena. Just another tool to be used or not used as a player sees fit.
The situation addressed in this thread is more that all survivor alive are at/in the exit. They either wait to get hit and donate some points or to rub their win in one last time during the trial.
-
@VonCrow said:
There is usually more toxicity on survivor side but thats because they are 4 players against 1, so 4 possible toxic players against 1 posible toxic player.
Waiting on the exit gate to tbag the killer is one of the most mean thing survivors do. I go to the basement and check twitter while they wait until the last second of the endgame collapse to go, sometimes I also do sudokus on my phone.
@KerJuice said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2313053#Comment_2313053
I do the same. I go to the basement and let my character chill while I check Twitter. If they manage to get the exit gates open, and you’re not in chase with an injured survivor- it makes no sense going over there. You already know what is In store for you lol.
I recommend alternatively looking for dropped pallets/remaining greakable wall/spamming killer powers for additional point. But yeah I also like to hang out in the basement if I maxed points already.
I still would like for the killer to always spawn in the basement for extra flair.
-
Either invisibility plus no collision cheat OR the latency plus bugs from the latest release.
Seems at some points like rubber banding especially just before the down.
But the reappearance at the wall might indicate the first.

The only players I’ve seen disconnect have crashed, and how do I know this? They lose connection and are as of right now almost all console players. When they crash it takes the last input they made and continues it until it confirms they dropped from the game. This would be like a guy running into a wall and just sliding along it.
Then that is your own anecdotal experience. Just like mine is that the amount of people that either dc on first hit/down or even at first sighting of what killer i am playing, has drastically increased to close to at least one person per trial. And since it is getting after 8 pm now here in Eu, there will probably even group DC's since, also from my anecdotal experience on PC, the amount of swf will go up like everyday.
-
@Annso_x said:
The reason the DC penalty is temporarily disabled is because ppl get randomly kicked out of games or have to DC bc it's unplayable, re-enabling it before fixing the bug would punish people suffering from the bug and wouldn't change the number of DCs by much (considering ppl who DC just to DC do it anyway when the penalty is active)
If the penalties were still on and those people would dc anyway, we wouldn't have to deal with them for a few hours after a few DC's from them at least. That's what the penalties are for besides being an incentive to avoid this behaviour. Giving the normal players without any real life ordeal or with enough backbone to play the match out, some distance from them.

Everyone say Killers queue is instant and Survivors queue is ten minutes long.
How is it the complete opposite for me? 🙈
(I'm fron France, maybe queue time is different...? Unless you're from EU as well, but you don't have to answer if you don't feel to tell your location.)
Germany here and yes the queue times before 8pm and after pretty much invert their waiting times. Survivor fast before and killer fast after.
I guess the portion of survivor player that are occupied during the day is bigger relatively to the portion from killer.

It would create a balance issue if the killer was able to mori every survivor in one trial since the last 2 survivor would get to avoid 4 zombies and the last even 5 additional to nemesis themselves. I know their ai is not the brightest but it might get oppressive without the killer even doing anything at that point.

Yeah the truth that they already have more than twice the number of survivor they need for the survivor to killer ratio of 4:1. More like 8:1 at prominent hours
-
That's what officially is called a fat shaming spot and they should've been dealt with but map rng obviously still can create them from time to time. Of course they should be fixed but you should post this in the bug report section.
-
The skill floor for all killer is essentially as high as for survivor in terms of learning maps, tiles and looping aka the basics of the game.
Killer additionally have to learn strategies for map pressure were survivor have to learn to play as a team.
The skill ceiling on the other hand can differ like night and day. Wraith for example has a simply power and only relies on m1 hits. Other killer whose M2 is also a form of attack need way more experience. Oni for example is a middle case, he can perform simply with his m1 but his power needs work from him and control once in use.
-
Yeah I originally wanted to do my fee missing adept because the reset hiccup and not playing a month have brought me down to rank 17. But with so many people un/intentionally dcing that not possible. Maybe I will try to get back up maining Oni. Always wanted to try him for real.

I would also love to see how the game would be if you were in charge. Complete ass probably.
Yeah probably, when solo would get the 10+ information perks that swf can bypass with coms as Basekit. Or if that's not enough, they would get an additional ping wheel and maybe the communication short commands from rocket league.
All of course while compensating killer for the strength increase in the 4vs1. But hey it would probably be ass to buff solo to swf level and compensate killer accordingly.
At least that's my thoughts when you check my comment history instead of nerfing the hell out of one side but whatever.
-
Well it is the same for killer like me that go out of their way to avoid any form of camping and tunneling and only slug to avoid an early kill before 8 hooks were done.
I also have to read on a daily basis that every last killer is a toxic jerk that uses the above mentioned strategies and so on.
Just like teabagging, head nodding and so on we have to ignore this stuff and not feel addressed by it ourselves.

Maybe a free for all mode where you can just play a quick game which does not effect rank, sort of like play with friends mode.
Or if in the lobby you could read reviews of the players so you know if you are facing a toxic killer or someone is part of a swf toxic team.
And that surely wouldn't be abused by bully squads and toxic killers alike searching for casual player to go full tryhard on them.

Hahaha at this point it is simply hilarious seeing you both patting each other on the back in either your respective own threads or when both of you comment in the same thread.
I truly would love to see this game when you two, sluzzy and everyone with the same opinion would get their way and the game was balanced to your standards and see how long that will survive when in it's state right now the killer/survivor population ratio is already way over 1:4, more akin to 1:8.

No, you are just bad. Tell my why it’s has 50 win streaks? You have to be good to win your games.
Do you know who does those 50wins streaks?
Streamer. They play this game for a living several hours a day. They are the equivalent to something between grandmaster and professional players in league of legends. Only that in lol those kind of players are only matched with each other and not everything down to silver like in dbd.
Two days ago I played killer for my dailies:
Legion: wounded them all once with my power and afterwards switched to pure m1 since I know survivor don't like the hit and run nonstop. It ended at 2 gens.
Plague: I try to go for the 5 hits after full infection but the gens get done one after another and the game ends with one hook.
Freddy: I play easy and the game comes to a halt at 3 gens since my loose patrol seems too much for them. Running out of patience I three hook two of the while trying to ease up but still the gens don't get finished and I have to blatantly let them finish them.
All 3 games at the same rank but thanks to the matchmaking many people aren't were they supposed to be. Team 1 and 3 were not good enough and team 2 was way too good. Streamer are at the top of the food chain and only when they encounter a death squad they get in trouble. Taking their 50 win streak as an argument would be like saying it is way too easy for a pro player smurfing in low ranks in other games.

Annoyance is not my goal here. If the answer can go deeper, why wouldn't you ask again?
I'm interested in knowing the answer from people who got offended by the question though but I don't think I can get a valid answer out of them. They call the game fun, I wonder what does it truly means for them. But I highly doubt they know the answer themselves because most of the time it hides beneath these unpleasant occurrences and emotions that they do not want to go through. That's probably why some replies filled with certain aggression that is a protection mechanism.
"Why wouldn't you ask again?"
Because at some point in our lives we should have learned that it is not necessarily our place to ask uncomfortable question to other people and simply back off.
Also why some people here might be offended by your questions is the way they are formulated (outside of them sounding like coming from some spiritual guy one weed like the people in the movie "soul") is because you subconsciously phrase them with an inherent negativity with terms like "giving up", "hiding", "escape" or "afraid". Why would anyone answer such already "sensitive" questions when they are phrased like the situation they are discribing is a negative one. Only exception is using those when the other person has used them first.
I for my part like fantasy, manga, anime, movies, video games and so also as a distraction from real life. Partially because I was the center of attention for bullying in my class from elementary school until end of high school. The initial reason where naivety and a higher aptitude for studying at the given time (I loved math and science classes).
This made me a social outcast, outside of my best friend who shared most of my interests with me. This lead to a shortage of experience in social groups and with the other gender which impacts me still today (still hate to get used into a already established social group for example at a workplace or in the gym. Also never had a girlfriend and still problems approaching women with the intent of romance).
I use those media to escape reality and as a way to relaxe from stress that inevitably arises from my psychological problems. Also the real world might be beautiful in some aspects but many are simply too ugly to tolerate in the long run. Btw from my perspective religion is the same. Hoping for something better after this life to make taking the pain of this life, given the circumstances of some, easier. They find their distraction in god and there faith, we or rather I in these windows into other worlds.

Conversely I have noticed that killers get way sweatier as the night progresses as well.
I go into every match assuming the best. I don't take out any frustration from a previous match on a new group of players/killer. I value my character as a survivor and killer and don't believe in "punishing" players for the behavior of others. Punishing others will only make them more jaded - which in return they may then take out on those in their next match - it is a vicious cycle. I don't get upset over "toxic" killers or survivors - I just move on to the next match.
Damn aren't you a better person than most people. Good for you, here have a cookie.
