  • Ehm shoudlnt you change your thread title a little bit?

There you indirectly advocate a nerf while in your post condemning people for wanting wraith nerfed.

Doesn't really add up except you try to attract attention with a controversial title.

  • Nah they are not for me the last two times i ran some where both on hag a few weeks apart for a hag daily.

Both times i ran her 3 teachables and haunted grounds since I don't have much decent t perks on her.

Both times all 4 hex perks where destroyed not even 2 minutes apart overall.

But this is only anecdotal experience from someone that does play "fair", not optimal and doesn't really care about kills or pips.

Totems only add more objectives for the killer to protect, even haunted grounds since the killer doesn't even know which lit totems stands for which perk (if they knew that would make braking certain totems/perks too hard).

There are already 7 gens to protect and 4 survivor to pressure, so totems, should the killer try to protect them, only add to the stress playing killer.

  • @Wavy said:

Someone is bad at tracking survivors and defending gens I see?

Pretty high pedestal you are sitting on given your own history of posts here?

  • When all they do is post controversial on sided posts that almost always lead to non objective conflict discussion?

Not that I see those like that, for me they are pure entertainment.

Something akin to reasons for forum conflict personificated.

  • I guess the mods in this forum punish people after a certain amount of time when it boils done that all they are posting/doing seems to aim at stirring up conflict on these forums aka only bait posts.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Is this the start of a mutiny against sluzzy?

I don't like to bring you the sad news but they got finally banned just like two other of the one sided vocally people from the recent times.

  • Tbh the people that do that want me to not have fun, so why should they. If I can manage to remember which character they have, they get no game from me. I chase, hit and so on the other survivor but will completely ignore the switcher(s). Maybe they get altruism points or points for objectives but damn if a last second switcher will get any attention from me.

  • Well I played the whole last weekend and only had 1 dc.

But hey, i am also always the killer and never tunnel, camp or KILL survivor during events. Maybe that is contributing to it.

You should look it up on Google. Usually, when seemingly random words are used in a way that makes no sense to normal people, they have the same origin.

Yeah no I know the words. But i couldnt make sense of the context in which they were used. English is still my second language but sometimes it is hard to get a grasp for the intended meaning.

Ahh, I see, alright, thank you very much! I was wondering because my waiting queue is almost always instant as a survivor and it takes like 5-10 minutes when I wanna play hunter

Yeah since the event queue times got reversed. Before the re chapter killer was (and depending on region and time of the day is) instant and vice versa.

If you get matched with rainbow ranks as survivor depsite having instant queue times then the others might have waited for a long time (maybe a 3 men swf?) And you get thrown into their lobby to fill.

Ah but see, you took the time to come into "my" forum post with my opinion, read through it, read through others opinions on it, choose to reply to my stuff, and now were here. You cared just a bit.

I already stated that I enjoyed to read the salt of perma-banned players in league. Why do you think I am on this forum?

I am a killer only player up to this point with meager 250 hours. I play a friendly 8hook no kill style to grind blood points and aliviate the stress for survivor since 2017.

I don't really care for most stuff on here but give my opinion and sometimes enjoy extreme biased threads from one sided "mains".

Your title seemed angerfilled and those are most often interesting.

I actually whole-heartedly agree, I'm not really sure I understand the reasoning as to why we can't disable the chat censor.. in any other game I think I have ever played there was always the option... regardless of ESRB rating btw (cause I saw someone mention that)

I don't swear so the censor doesn't bother me in that way, what is extremely frustrating about the censor is that it seems constantly be censoring words that aren't actually bad words.

For example: JUST in this last match lobby I hate now...

A survivor complimented my horrible nurse practice and I tried to write:

    "I did horrible, but ty!"

It came out as "I did horrible, *** **!" - which actually made it look like I was trying to be an ass and talk smack, even though I was legitimately trying to thank the person.

This is just one example, literally "But, ty" was censored. This happens to me all the time, and I'm not trying to say anything rude. It's very annoying and I think it gives people the wrong impression of me.

And disabling the chat sensor for oneself would help how, in this case?

They may have it still active and will see your comment still with censored.

So you might feel better while still accidentally and unknowingly coming across as rude and suddenly wonder why the other person also answers in a rude manner.

  • @headgrumble said:

Hello, I'm wondering why after I hit rank 5 survivor, I keep getting into games with other people that are rank 15-18, like what's the deal, can anyone explain me?

Too many people on one side (in this case survivor?) ->

    queues get too long ->

rank based matchmaking filter grows wider and wider, from 6 ranks +/- until everything will be thrown together

  • Ahh you remind me of old times when people in league of legends tried to appeal a permant ban for toxicity. Good old times.

"I wasn't even toxic, I didn't tell them to end their own lives or their family to get cancer"

Sorry buddy we aren't wacko but you want to vent even for the placebo effect and even indirectly attempt to blackmail/force:

As I've said over and over yet I seem to keep having to repeat myself, make it a choice, where is the harm in a choice to see it. As for the "thats not healthy" ever heard of rage rooms? It is healthy to get emotions out, they're stupid little emotions from a game so its an easy vent of a little line in a chat. If I don't get that then I'll get my satisfaction from a toxic game as killer, which do you prefer? A line of chat people don't even have to see or a 10-15 minute game of 4 players who have to suffer slugging, camping, and tunneling to make them possibly rage quit or as many people I know have done they simply stop playing the game altogether because that stuff is too common and its annoying.

"If I don't get to see my own rage in chat, i will start to play toxic to get it out of my system" instead of maybe making the choice to stop playing a game that induces such rage and anger inside you and do something else.

Or you can't help yourself other than getting this frustrated and angry from a game. And then you should seek professional help for anger Management.

Edit: I am sorry if I come across a.little harsh here but i just don't see any reason to use toxicity as a means to vent ones own rage or anger unto other in an extreme way.

  • The automatic part ofthe mentioned system is not directly related to bans but to flag an account for inspection by a human.

So a huge amount of reports simply marks the account to get looked into.

    Nobody is getting auto banned.

  • I still propose to put totems in some kind of little alcoves for example inside trees, empty slightly broken boxes and so on.

This would help to make them only visible from 1 side (90-120°) and not 3 to 4 sides (270-360°). And maybe don't put them so obviously on landmarks like the killer shack, that totem has the alcove aspect but damn if it isn't hitting you in your face with its presence when come into the opposite door.

  • At this point they can completely rework stridor. It wasn't really useful before (screwed up distance perception more than anything) and now with iron will becoming more meta it is practically dead.

Everyone getting it in their bloodweb will go "urgh" harder than when they get monstrous shrine.

  • Seems like a normal friendly killer approach while not going for full blown boring farming.

I personally try to go for the 8hooks no deaths but if/when I forget who I hooked twice already i stop and only keep injuring and only slugging on survivor at any given time.

With that I try to provide a sense of tension and fun for the survivor while maximizing my BP.

There's literally no reason for this. There honestly isn't even a reason for DS to deactivate upon self-heals, either, while we're at it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2341765#Comment_2341765

Where DS is currently, I see no reason for it to deactivate in end game. It's basically the only good use for DS at this point because it's the only time you'll actually be able to use it to get away from a tunneler lmaooo

Obviously, yeah, it's a losing situation for the killer because he can't avoid the DS if they're close enough to crawl out before it deactivates, but as long as DS remains a single use perk that is active a maximum of 2 minutes per trial while still having slugging counterplay/doesn't REALLY stop tunneling (outside of end game), I think the end game stuff is what it is and still is fairly situational compared to how old DS was.

And that is why I first proposed:

    @burt0r said:

Just make it activate on all unhooks and be done with it.

And then remembered its strength in endgame which not only applies to tunneler but also for fair killer like me that first go for the 8 hooks before killing someone.

If we make it activate on every unhook then there should be compensation in egc, otherwise we could just let the game end once the gates are open when more than two survivor are alive and have bt/Ds that can Bodyblock and switch.

  • And you just ignored my previous post of letting it activate on all unhooks, right?

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2341765#Comment_2341765

I can agree with that. There’s many situations where I’ll be in endgame and have DS so it’s just a free escape

Yeah the thing is I used to play differently but for the last 1-2 years I stopped caring for rank, kills and stuff and adopted the "fair" playstyle of 8 hooks before any killing and most of the time no killing at all and just bp farming with bbq.

In the time I cared for kills I did the same but trying to play fair and getting kills is close to impossible with the mechanics I mentioned. Also no slowdown perks.

  • But it should still deactivate in egc. Combine DS, bt and more than 2 survivor alive and killer without late late game perks could just go afk sometimes.

These are just my own thoughts. I think SWF is fine since you dont go against a good SWF often

Just as good nurses are rare but she is broken from your perspective.

Also sarcasm goes right over your head, hm? As far as I know, both killer either had a truly hard time or got wrecked.

  • Just make it activate on all unhooks and be done with it.

I don't know how you figure. Find them along the way and cleanse it at the end. Problem solved.

Especially since it only are at best 1,25 totems each if every survivor would just do them. That would equal time lost overall 20 seconds and average 16-32 seconds for up to two survivor.

  • @Hermit said:

    those saying 'use perks':

I'd like you to read that sentence out loud. Then go and ask yourself how you'd react if someone would tell -you- when playing killer that you can just 'use perks' to counter something that's entirely unpredictable or not something that should leave -you- with solving it.

Ehm isn't that already the case?

Killer think the game is going to fast with survivor spreading out on generators. What's the usual answer? Use slowdown perks and apply more pressure or don't play a weak killer.

Slowdown perks are already mandatory at high experience level.

Also another example, threads saying "I have problem finding survivor". Usual answer: Use aura reading perks.

It is already common on both sides to say "Use x perk against y problem".

Edit: To the thread topic: I don't think the devs are either really A-OK with slugging or camping or tunneling but they simply can't do anything real against it without also castrating killer that play normal and have to use those tactics in healthy doses for example during endgame or when a survivor is hook inside a.3 gen and there is no logical incentive to leave the area other than the fun aspect of the opposition.

  • @M4dBoOmr said:

didn't play a while, DC penalty was removed?

Resident evil chapter release practically broke the game on consoles.

Crashes and several second long freezes on hitting as the killer or getting hit, using powers/perks and so on.

  • Someone mad a calculation and they came up that it takes more than 1,5 billion bp to get (i think) all charact RS to P3 with all perks.

But that was at least a year ago.

So now probably 2 billion is more appropriate.

Edit: That's also why I probably will never prestige any character. My goal ATM is to get every character to 40 and then focus the "getting all perks" on one survivor and my main killer. So everything after that is relaxed luxury for me. Still can't decide between Kate and nea.

And in respect to skins, i will MAYBE buy one each for my main characters and that's it. Killer wise I don't even see any real value in skins for myself outside of Moris or the endgame screen and maybe the weapon that is filling half of my screen 😝.

But it is definitely not worth for me to prestige for a skin and take the stress of grinding up from scratch on certain characters.

  • I picked him recently as my only main since it seems he is rather rare and in most of the "fun to vs" and so on ratings he is rather high positioned.

Also he is one of the normal 115 m1 killer where their power only enhances the gameplay for the killer.

  • It is not detectable afaik, so the devs indirectly approved of it because they are helpless against it. (Probably the same reason why camping and tunneling rather get approval than some form balancing treatment.)

It can be used as a crutch for looking over loops and stuff but hey they have to endure this ugly fisheyes view depending on the amount of stretching.

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2341194#Comment_2341194

The problem is that all of those perks either notify you that they exist or take some skill to use properly. Devour is fine because it actually takes skill to hook survivors and then get away from them. Ruin notifies you that it exists so you know to look for it. BBQ is fine because it's really easy to jump into a locker and most of the time it's stupid to even do that.

NOED requires you to do 5 bones and if you leave even one of them it doesn't even notify you until you've already went down in one hit. It's extremely lame compared to actual good and balanced perks with counter play.

Noed doesn't require one to do 5 totems but the survivor as a team 5 totems which comes down to 1,25 totems per person and the only thing invalidating that is the unwillingness of a part of the survivor to do their part.

    @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2341213#Comment_2341213

Whispers doesn't expose every single survivor. And what do you mean by "gen rushers"? People who do the objective too quickly...? The killer didn't apply enough pressure to the gens and that's their fault, they shouldn't be rewarded for not applying pressure throughout the game. Survivors only really have 1 objective, to do gens and leave. Why would you want a counter to survivors doing the only objective? Do you expect them to just sit around and do dull totems even tho 99% of the time there is no reason to? That's ridiculous!

So the killer does not apply enough pressure but the survivor don't take this breathing room to counter a possible noed in the late game and still focus on gens?

Totems were introduced as a secondary objective. And just like the obsession claws forced every killer to suspect DS is in play so does noed force all survivor to not ignore totems.

Also also, when ruin/undying are in play and survivor cleanse them, that leaves only 3 totems to counter noed.

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2340837#Comment_2340837

I would rather the killer use their actual skill to kill me instead of downing me in 1 hit because they happened to put on a perk that game.

Please tell from your perspective if any, and if yes, which perks need any skill to be used?

Its about awareness, it has nothing to do with actually fixing the bug. The report as you and I agree are pretty much ignored, I'm assuming because of the volume of reports. One person saying something may go unnoticed but if a bunch of people start pointing these things out it might be seen.

Just for my understanding where did @Orion agree with you that the bug report in the respective section will be ignored?

If you wrote a proper bug report, with all the details, then that will make them aware of it. I'm asking you how additional threads complaining about the issue (and you essentially advertising how to abuse this bug) are supposed to help them fix the issue. What's the connection between the number of threads and how quickly a programmer can find and fix a bug?

Just in this comment you quoted they said :

I disagree, many people complained about the dc penalties being active while the game was crashing so frequently and because of it it got turned off immediately. Power of the community

Flipping a known switch for the penalty mechanic will obvious be way faster than finding a problem in Mountains of marbled code, unrelated to the uproar each problem causes.

Half the community on this forum is asking for hatch spawn changes, buffing solo to swf level and much more stuff for years by know, quite loudly and it doesn't get addressed. So much for the power of the community.

  • I am from Germany and only play killer. After 8 pm it takes normally a minute or two to get a lobby. Before re chapter and event it was 30 seconds to a minute.

    PC, crossplay on

  • Damn where are all this extreme one sided thinking people suddenly popping out from?

Is it just me or did it get noticably worse for both sides since the re chapter release?

It is simply the laziest form of critique.

  • I had mixed experiences so far. I play only killer and Friday night started at 11pm eu CST and the first 3 games were 4-5 cakes and overall farming. After that varying cake numbers but always at least the one from me and more or less bp gains but never cooperative faming.

At roughly 3 to 4am I had the only confirmed 4 men swf (i check profiles just out of curiosity). 5 cakes and the game didn't even last 5 minutes, I didn't even get 1 hook and the only one I could've gotten was flashlight saved. Probably my fault since I just play soft for the 4 bbq stacks and 8 hooks.

4 "gg" in after-game chat followed by a "yeah right" from me and then they apologized. No one got more than 15k bp and I ended with less than 10k. This was the worst game of the weekend but a noticable number where similar, even with five cakes and me being obvious and ignoring people at death hook and so on.

  • I heard when the devs are going for their skiing vacation in hell.

  • Nice,a challenge nearly complete outside of the players control -.-

  • O had the luck yesterday to have my first game on the map as blight.

And while I agree that it is horrendous gameplay wise for mobility killer, it is impressively accurate to the source material. (As far as I can tell since I never played resident evil myself but watched let's plays).

But this detail to the source material is also a reason why it most probably won't be changed.

Edit: Oh and forget to play ranged killer like slinger or huntress there, the narrow corridors and many corner are a nightmare. But hey setup killer like trapper or hag could be strong. Also hex perks might be spread enough to be too strong.

  • During this event I am trying to get all perks: first unlocked, meaning ALL character i own only to level 40 and then all PERKS on one character for each side, oni on killer side since he seems to be one of the most accepted killer from this forum and then either all perks on nea or Kate.

But damn if only this much is not already a pain in the butt. Not even prestige anything or leveling all to level 50. I am already lucky enough to have any tier of bbq on most of my killer.

    Again, matchmaking being a mess.

I just find stupid that a rank 10~ gets paired up with 5+ ones.

I dont really know what my teammates did tbf, i was alone that entire match, so idk if they did anything to trigger the guy, like the things you mentioned, which btw, i dislike, idk why survivors feel the need to be annoying beyond belief by clicking flashlights or teabagging, etc.

Hell i even remember a match that was a draw (2 kill) where i actually praised the killer and complained at how freaking useless my teammates were lol, for context, i worked HARD to get rid of extremely dangerous 3 gen, which i did manage, but my teammates ended up causing a different one, and then they left me without a slimmer of doubt after i distracted the killer long enough for them to finish they mess.

Then maybe, just maybe don't name your thread "(I) made a killer ragequit."

Without the aspect of tone this sounds just like bragging. Or a bait title to gather people via curiosity.

Name it something like "Unintentionally made a killer ragequit thanks to messed up matchmaking"

  • I am sorry but that is what impressive or important how?

Penalties are off and people disconnect left, right and center at the drop of a hat. I would even go so far to say that the stayed impressively long in the trial given how bad it went for them according to you.

I am lucky that so far during this weekend only one person dc'ed and that was probably a crash mid going down.

If what people who have delved into the code have said is true (and it being true explains some of the exploits that have been possible), then DbD is loading crap not even in use into every match. DbD needs to hire people who can fix the code. If they don't stop loading all the killer and survivor assets into every match, even for killers and survivors not being used, the game is going to just keep getting slower and slower for everyone, requiring more and more resources for no good reason. Loading times get longer and longer, and hackers/exploiters are able to bring a second killer into a match.

Only loading required assets into a match would go a long way to improving how the game runs. Everyone should want that, because again, as they keep adding more killers and survivors, the game will perform worse on all platforms.

PS4 and Xbox One could handle the game so much better without sacrificing graphics or mechanics with some optimization and by adding in options for controllers (and the next-gen consoles need those controller options, too, because not being able to set stuff like the dead zone hurts).

And if the devs really aren't going to fix the code, then they need to make cross-progression for PlayStation and Xbox a serious priority. People on PlayStation and Xbox just get screwed in so many ways right now, and we've put money into the game same as everyone else playing.

Wait wait wait, they found out that the dbd code loads ALL assets, used or not, in every trial?

If that is true than everybody from behaviours dev team would have to be fired.

What reason would there be for any game to load every bit of unused assets all the time.

Imagine league of legends or rainbow six siege loading all champions, tools/operator assets into every match. Half the PC and all of the consoles would burn.

1 … 56 57 58 59 60 … 79
