It's never worth the chance to go against hackers. The devs need good statistics, I am absolutely prepared to wait longer for balanced matches.

Well i don't know if you speak for the whole community there. I have never seen a hacker in my 300 hours of playing on PC exclusively (playing since release and with/without X-Play).

Not that i deny that they are there but to go and rip the community apart just like that instead of taking care of the root of the problem isn't the solution.

  • Then i hope you're prepared for really long survivor queues.

Back before X-Play was Implemented, these forums were full of complaints about survivor queue being 20-30 minutes long on console and I remember killer queues also being longer on PC due to the, yes, all in all smaller playerbase on PC alone relative to all consoles combined (due to the game being free sometimes on PSN and Xbox game passes).

The ratio of killer to survivor isn't great on console due to control limitations by controller sticks.

After having constantly seen myself being T-bagged and made fun of by survivors who constantly save their teammates by using flashlights, I finally decided to say "whatever, I just sacrifice one perk slot for Lightborn if I must"... And oh boy have I had a blast hearing post-game cries from every single survivor afterward.

It's like you are not allowed to run this perk, else it is not fair for survivors or something. Seriously, survivors get so mad seeing me run this perk, even when I don't get any value out of it if it so happens that survivors don't bring a flashlight with them or can't find one in chests, they still find a reason to make a case how I am a bad killer for bringing such "useless" perk. What's more fun, if I say "I just like to run it even if it does not bring any value" - they still try to make a case how I don't know what I am doing and will go great lengths trying to convince me how I should not use it. This happens almost every single game in high MMR.

    Welcome to the circle brother.

Praise be the lord and saviour Lightborn. 😜

Now I play without meta perks, don't control gens, don't camp, don't tunnel, just play for 4 BBQ stacks, doing the challenge, giving max 2 hooks per surv, and then let everyone escape. This is the only way I'm not stressed anymore. And still survs are toxic as hell even when I had a chance to kill them a few times but let them live.

Welcome to the true way to play killer.

Just don't care about the trial anymore and ignore survivor feedback completely and you might find fun again.

I played a few Billy matches where i'd pretend to be scared of survivors in snowmen. I'd drop chase the second someone would hop into one and shake my head no while backing away. Gotta love the shenanigans.

Did the same as blight on midwich and turned around dashing away while sometimes "frantically" bumping into things.

But yeah, 3 snowmen creeping out of a room on that map where really kinda creepy, at least for the first few minutes.

I'm just sitting here trying to figure out why he hasn't found Kindred yet. It's a free perk!

Because it would take a spot away from the precious meta perks that are "essential and absolutely necessary".

Yes, because MMR says so much about a players skill.

Did you start the game yesterday? Because it’s common sense that if someone is getting camped you don’t have any time for totems, just “bang out gens” as you like to say.

Even if the killer isn’t using NOED, it’s still not easy to deal with. By the time everyone knows the person is getting camped they have already reached 2nd stage which is such a time waster. You can’t do anything about it since you can’t tell your teammates that you are getting camped.

"You can’t do anything about it since you can’t tell your teammates that you are getting camped."

I remember back in the day that survivor-on-hook-gymnastics (animation spamming) were the universal sign for "the killer is camping". No idea what happened to that but i guess spamming anything but flashlights or Tbags was to tiring for survivors.

please remember that If I am iri adn they are ash 4 and only have 2 perks they are most likely pretty new to the game, just common sense

I own this game since release with 300 hours played and don't play much every month.

    20211128_210543_HDR~2.jpg

A nice grade rainbow only missing ash and the match would've been skillwise okay if I werent a friendly killer not aiming to kill but for 8hooks/deaths and max BP.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Looping is probably the most thing to do as survivor what are you on about?

That the essential gameplay is repetitive and boring if not for the atmosphere and different killers?

  • If you mean the red grades as "ranks", they only mean how much a person has play per month between the 13th's.

So that isn't necessarily an indicator for skill but yeah DBD has such a small skill distribution that you will still get matched against way too high opponents on both sides pretty fast.

Not to mention the missing beginner queue function from for example rainbow six siege where accounts of level 30 or so only play against each other. Of course doesn't help against Smurf accounts but their is no measure against that anywhere.

  • "pretty good job so far"

if its all within the game then i believe its all fine and dandy, but they really go out of the their using stuff outside of the game to do exploits and to cheat.

Oh pls half the community either uses stretched res, brightness filter and btw comms also run outside of the game.

  • But even so, I’ve seen countless amounts of complaint after complaint of people crying about toxic survivors tbagging and flashlight clicking in the exits during endgame. I do not care that so many survivors do this, I just care about the people complaining about it!

Your words. Why should you care about anyone complaining about survivor BM. (Why should you care?)

Just move on and ignore their threads. Scroll beyond them. (Push them out)

Just a little analogy that your whole thread is the same as what you are complaining about.

A complaint about something you yourself could just ignore but chose not to.

  • @BenihimeWrath said:

I mostly only find it annoying if they were gonna wait all that time anyway, you might as well let me hit you with my power for the extra 300-800 deviousness and escape. The waiting until the very last second to leave is childish and immature.

Only topped by trying to get the hit for extra points as a killer only to get dh dodged at the last second to deny you further.

I totally agree with being the last survivor on the ground, but that is not what I’m talking about. Specifically for survivors bming at exit gates I feel like it’d be a better use of your mental space to not care and move on to the next match.

Maybe same to you and ignoring their complaints?

Just scroll beyond the thread that seemingly aggravates you.

  • I never really understood the attractiveness of killer skins. I mostly buy a skin in a game to enjoy myself and not look pretty for others while i myself can't even see it.

The only game where i did otherwise was rainbow six siege and overwatch where i get either special animation on MVP (r6s) or see more of them like overwatch (still most came from free boxes).

Again, footsteps are working. Use those. An predicting survivor movement is a bit more risky but more rewarding, and dont need a single sound or visual for that buddy.

Ah yes predicting the thing survivor don't want/need to since nearly every last killer gets a tell when and how they are using their power (except Micheal or ghost face maybe).

Hence why for example billy got this goddamn annoying roar, so that survivor knew exactly when to juke or slingers ads was slowed down. The latter only missing an audio cue like huntress.

  • @BenihimeWrath said:

I literally don't even kill survivors anymore. I get 8 hooks and then I just farm with them until they leave. Way less stressful.

    This.

I have done this for the last year. Get as close to 8 hooks as possible without killing anyone while providing a normal gameplay experience until then.

The only downside to that is that it got me into MMR where getting 8 spread hooks is possible but at that point I have to completely stop any pressure or the survivor are to inexperienced and scared to progress the game and often 2 gens or so are still left.

  • @Jasix said:

Why do you let something so trivial bother you? Letting other people live rent free in your head is silly.

    Go grab a drink...use the restroom...watch a YT video...

Seriously - stop letting the inane actions of a few bother you so much in an online game - it serves no purpose.

I hope you give the same advice to anyone complaining about getting bled out for 4 minutes or camped for 2.

  • It's the same principle as MMR in online chess. You don't start at 0 but an average (1500 in said online chess).

And from there you go up or down depending on your skill.

That's what placement games in other video games are for.

  • @Nathan13 said:

can't believe how many people seriously get offended with people teabagging/ flashlight clicking like those survivors are horrible people. Some of you probably should be staying away from online games like Ironknight said.

Same principle as flipping someone off in El sports, only that the offender there gets some form of penalty which is absent in video games thanks to online anonymity.

Old people like us still got taught some manners, see the similarities and think that such rude behaviour should not be condoned and instead of telling the offended to "deal with it", we would love it if the offender would get some consequences for their (however subjective significant) actions.

Also i would call people that taunt behind pallets or in the exit cowards. They can only show balls if they feel save, behind a pallet, at the exit line or in general behind an online alias.

  • At which time of day did you play that match in the op? Prime time (for eu after 8pm for example) or during the day?

I have the suspicion that bhvr kept the mechanism of throwing matchmaking out the window once queue times surpass a certain threshold.

  • I prefer playing while sitting down.

  • But damn i see like only 4-5 people in this thread that seem to have had an upbringing with getting taught some manners and stick to them even hidden behind an online alias.

Way too many people let themselves go once consequences are of the table thanks to online anonymity.

Edit: oh and also i hope that none of the people that say "deal with it/ignore it/grow thicker skin" get ever offended by hitting on hook, camping, tunneling or slugging. 2 of those even hold in game efficiency.

It’s not gonna happen. Crouching is very important in this game and they aren’t going to change it because some people get upset. It’s a game. You guys should not be playing these types of games if little things like t-bagging upsets you. No, I don’t do it myself... but I’m not going to let that stuff bother me.

And you should probably stop giving so many people contra just for the sake of it and call it your opinion. (Still love you for as it always makes for an interesting read).

It's funny how you tell so many people they simply should not care but you yourself feel inclined to hold against their opinion so much that you repeatedly argue with multiple people.

So maybe take your own advice and stop caring when we don't like something and ignore us. 😂 Of course I know you won't since I can't forbid you from "voicing your opinion" but the same goes for us all in this thread.

But its the Dead by Daylight Community and you should never overestimate them i guess.

Well, we all know sluzzy and they (plus a few others that by now all got banned) set a whole new standard for over the top.

They show video evidence and you still spout that crap. Sad.

@topic funny enough that i have been validated only once overall since the implemented it and that was and intentional (questionably) late hit through a pallet.

But i have had multiple grabs get faked out and even a locker pull one time. I start the locker anymation and the survivor still slips out and runs away while I was stick with the pull animation only that it could cancelled midway and I couldn't move for the remaining duration of it.

  • I am also thinking of finally going for the survivor side of the game and my go to build for the beginning is probably gonna be windows of opportunity, dead hard, iron will and bt.

Woo: training wheel perk just so i get used to maps from the survivor perspective and to not loose my cool during chases.

Dead hard: well if you cant beat them join them. Still in my eyes the best on demand third health state exhausting perk.

Iron will: same as dh, just so much value and here even no requirements

BT: so that even my clues ass isn't a jerk and unhooks unsafely on accident.

Most probably gonna swap something (woo) for kindred as that is a must-have for solo at least in the beginning.

  • Still maining him, as he is the only killer i have all perks unlocked on.

Also often found on the fun to vs and absent on the not fun to vs lists here.

But i also only play every other week and on low MMR and don't kill (aka a training dummy killer player)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2680952#Comment_2680952

It's not related to only her. It works with every killer who has killer instict. Legion's frenzy is bugged atm.

So you can't finish it with 13 but at least 25, if not more, games, right?

  • "Detect 100 survivor" not "detect survivor 100 times", right?

I'm just doing Yoga and the Killer is getting pointers from my expertise so dont mind us.

Yeah using that time to get some cardio in and the killer giving the pep talk.

"C'mon, one more, you can do it!"

And then a slap for motivation.

These 2 post charts were 2 matches next to each other.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/F70ZX7W5IQCO/image.png

From a team that didnt know where to ran, how to loop. MMR up and suddenly everyone knew how to loops with DH.

Both matches, I play Spirit without using power, only 110% chase, no tunnel, no camp, no kill secure.

The left match, I gave everyone 4 hooks stages (I would slug anyone on death hook for the 4th chance) and still 4k (16 hooks total). The right match, 6 hooks. Of course I could 4k the right team if I use power, better perks, tunnel/camp.

But this is just an example that shows the gap between 2 teams once your MMR makes 1 step up is huge. It can go between boring to stressful match in a note.

May I ask at which time of day did you play those games? Prime time (eg. After 8pm for EU)?

Just as a guess if MMR was stepping up so much or just simply off tue to queue times.

I suspect behaviour changed the matchmaking algorithm overall but kept the "shutting MMR off at high queue times".

  • Yeah they really should rename that to "immobilizing/taking hostage" for killer or "sandbagging teammates" for survivor.

  • Still the same as in the old days.

"Time to get my cardio in.... Oh and by the way the killer is joining"

  • Sadly never really mustered the courage to play survivor because of broken self esteem (caused by mobbing during childhood) i always feel some kind of pseudo responsibility towards my teammates that i must perform. A big reason that psychological blocks me from playing team games without friends (and none of them play DBD).

(Strangely enough i have a few achievements on survivor side but can't remember ever playing outside of the tutorial and my account was never hacked Oo)

  • With the arrival of boons, hexes became even less viable than before.

Hence why I think the argument "but they buffed several killer perks in there update" is hilarious too me when 4 of the 6 are hex perks 😂

Im salty as F****. Just came here right after another Wraith game followed by this thread. Hes soooooo freaking fast after that bell, its insane.

Im winning against all other killers but this guy, forget about 1/3 ratio, its going downhill fast now.

Ill try to look for a pallet or a window next to a gen. His cloak puts also pressure when he has people hanging, its always a question whether he really left or waiting to bait people saving those poor souls. I dont know man, this guy feels completely busted compared to my other expierence. Ill just try to rank up and hope higher elo doesnt play him.

Can you explain the rankings for me? I read there are grades now so the matchmaking doesnt matter really.

Ranks mean nothing anymore. With the implementing of skill based matchmaking rating (short SBMMR) came grades not ranks anymore. Ranks where used for matchmaking which now was substited with a hidden elo value.

The grades themselves are only an indicator of dedication and playtime between the 13th of every month when they get reset and you get a BP gift depending on your grade at the time of the reset.

In my opinion this is way too confusing for new and some of the older players but hey it's behaviour and we have to be happy once they manage even a little bit not to disappoint.

camping would be so powerful and it'll only be a cycle of hooks one after another with minimal effort from the killer, so i disagree. dont understand why people still got a problem with this perk.

Oh pls don't argument with effort here. Making an unsafe save and getting blocked from hits by the unhooked isnt effort. The perk like most perks isn't earned but just there.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2678426#Comment_2678426

Oh yeah. Or if a survivor is obviously trying to sell out a teammate(s). I will absolutely tunnel them into the ground and let the other one go.

Which becomes really frustrating when the normally offended player doesn't get it and tries to help the jerk.

  • All of the above i would say. Tagging, flashlight spamming and swarm blocking even the first hook.

But all that leads to from my side is not trying my hardest but instant ignoring of the offending player. Good luck playing an entertaining round in a pvp game without the opposition. And if the decide it is more fun tu run circles around me, i take a leak, get a drink or do something else productive.

If you want a game like that then yeah you should stick to offline games. In an online computer game you aren’t gonna be super powerful when another person fears you lol. Why would anyone play a game where one side is expected to always win

Fun fact, the devs proclaim a 2k/2e average as balance. So 2 survivor on average are expected to lose.

  • @zarr said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2673696#Comment_2673696

If you are competent at the game, you can do well with much of any killer in public matchmaking. Not saying you will win every game or that there aren't problematic things left in the game, but good killer players win the majority of the time. I'm sitting at like 27 to 2 in perkless Legion 4ks just in the last couple of days. The game is just not nearly as skewed against the killer as people make it out to be.

Keep at it and practice and improve and you won't feel like it's such a nightmare playing killer anymore. There will still be things to complain about, but they'll be more reasonable.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2673699#Comment_2673699

Grades have nothing to do with the MMR value, I'm sure you know that. Rank reset was like two weeks ago, people don't play all the time. I am definitely high MMR, I have been playing killer for years and rarely get beaten hard, and I mean, just in this run I've been 4-killing some 20+ games in a row. Most of the people you see in those shots are 1000+ hour players. Tunnelling/camping/slugging are just very effective, combine that with solid chase game and you will perform well most of the time. Mind you, I usually refrain from abusing those strategies, but even then I still average between 2 and 3 kills comfortably. But sometimes it's fun challenging yourself and trying stuff like winning with the weakest killer in the game without perks.

Let me ask you, how many hours do you have played in DBD overall?

  • @Faulds said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2675087#Comment_2675087

Old BT was protecting the rescuer when he rescued someone... i'm just saying that BT should protect yourself when you are getting unhooked. When you play against good survivors, they always use BT anyway... it doesn't change anything.

    Ah okay now I get.

You mean you have the perk and either

you unhook someone and they are protected

    or

you yourself get unhooked and protect yourself.

Okay that seems like a good change. But maybe but should make the unhooked lose collision so protecting the unhooker with the endurance effect is no longer viable.

  • @Faulds said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2675072#Comment_2675072

I missworded what i was trying to say. Sorry. I was saying that BT should also protect the user of the perk when he is being unhooked; rather than creating another perk for it.

Yeah I know and I want to tell you that was done and somewhere along the way the devs thought it would be too strong to leave the killer only with lose lose options and nerfed bt. (Patch 1.9.2 to be precise)

Survivor still Bodyblock with the endurance effect instead of trying to reach safety most of the time.

  • @Faulds said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/297977/perk-idea-reverse-bt

They could just make so BT also protect the user of the said perk.

For your information that is how the perk originally worked but only once per trial iirc.

  • @anarchy753 said:

They got salty and ditched him when his add ons got nerfed. Previously they were in a state where it was basically "equip any two add ons to win," and post nerf their descriptions may as well read "puts an icon of an add on in the bottom left of your screen" aside from one or two. Then they pretended it's because you can no longer walk around with the chainsaw revved for over a minute without consequence.

He's still a strong killer, and has a fun playstyle, but he's definitely been powercreeped by some of the later entries like Blight, and Bubba who got pretty universally buffed at the same time as the Billy nerf.

Scrap his freaking annoying "here i come, dodge now" scream (every ######### time you charge with him) and tune down the headache inducing sounds from the chainsaw on higher heat and maybe some people like me might play him again.

But with those sound "features" it becomes a chore to even play one match with him.

I personally do both. Might as well get those last few points in, then move on.

Me too now since I mostly play "intentional no kill" games which tanked my MMR even before SBMMR and they already take long enough finishing 5 gens with even a little bit of pressure.

So i open the gates myself (for BP and to start the CD) and then let them into the gates and push them out.

  • I don't know if your question is rethorical but you could ask the same about any of the 26 killer and there will always be someone that doesn't like something.

  • Only if you let it.

Either, like you said, push then out but let them humiliate you one last time (if you are susceptible to that)

Or, like i said, make effective use of that time, while avoiding them.

But only on my version can I be sure to not give them what they want (indipendent of their true intentions) while also not wasting my time, so win win.

1 … 44 45 46 47 48 … 79
