Rift, login and grade rewards could break the limit for a long time already. Hence why people didn't take the rewards out of rifts and maxed their million, so they could instantly prestige a new character.

Imagine complaining first over more BP and then exaggerating over the amount once per month that is equal to maybe 33 good bbq/bps games.
As if people that managed to get to iri 1 simply by perseverance wouldn't make that amount in less than 31 days.
Let's all be grateful for the option, not certainty, for this amount of extra BP.
It still requires a not small amount of dedication to play exclusively DBD every month to reach iri 1, especially for the double.

Unfortunately things have been made so survivor sided with COH in particular, that killers are resorting to playing in ever more unfun and toxic ways to compensate. So ironically giving survivors easier games has actually made the game less fun as killers have adjusted to compensate.
While I still avoid tunnelling off hook or camping if I can avoid it, I now will do so should I need to as the game has forced me into this play style more than I ever wanted to.
I am still a survivor main primarily but I am also finding my matches are often a lot less fun than they were, as I see a lot more killers playing really scummy.
And I, as a killer that categorically avoids camping, tunneling and also killing survivor, find it funny how only one side is still being branded negatively for anything unfun.
Survivor can play to their utmost efficiency, making the game stressful, unrewarding and unfun for the killer and it's called normal gameplay. Meanwhile killer adapt to the utmost efficient strategy making it unfun for survivors and it gets branded toxic and scummy at every opportunity and in any form.

Main reason why I would want it this way is because there is higher chance it might happen. They are not going to show it instead of grades.
And in my eyes it would be useless. Without been given any form of high or low limit or other information for comparison, seeing the MMR number by itself is meaningless.

That's why it would be personal (private) info. You still wouldn't know that often. You can ask them in end game chat, but that doesn't mean they will tell you real MMR, or they don't care.
But what good would be seeing only your personal MMR value without comparison to your opponents, at least in respect to this threads topic.
Just your own MMR wouldn't have any information value to this in regard if you played bad/good or your opponents being of higher/lower MMR.

I would like to see MMR values. They don't have to show it instead of grades, but maybe as personal info for each player?
It would be interesting to compare my killers and maybe try to get them over some threshold.
But then they wouldn't be able to deactivate SBMMR in times of too long queues like they did when more than half the survivor and killer population sat in red ranks and rainbow lobbies were a frequent thing. /S

What about SB? I honestly think SB is much stronger than DH when used correctly. You can usually avoid getting injured and make it to the next loop safely.
And either use it at the beginning of the chase aka the killer doesn't have to waste 1,5 however long chases to get dodge or advanced SB usage takes more skill than gauging the distance (killer or pallet/vault) and pressing e.
99ing exhausting takes skill and has risks. Getting injured is part of the gameplay cycle and isn't a real downside in comparison to the impact of the perk.
-
I am still waiting for the devs to make ALL interaction server based and then see the game die due to lack of killer players.
Keep making the stressful, hectic side more cumbersome and you will lose all incentive for anyone to play it. (Coupled with toxic behaviour and ungratefulness for fair play)

Well earning 5-10 BILLION BP takes its time.

Or how about they listen to their community and get rid of perk tiers /s
Sadly it will probably never happen. Just this would reduce the grind down to a third.
-
My biggest problem is that i mistake the ambient sound of fire barrels often with survivor footsteps.
-
Personally I find those cross genre cameos most often immersion breaking and unfitting like if a terminator killer would be implemented.
Just reminds me of most asian games with their genre unfitting cosmetics and stuff.
Just because you can have everything in a game doesn't mean you need everything.
The applicability of my opinion on DBD and mortal combat is debatable.

You don't need to have 10k hours to be just as good as them lol. High MMR is just decision making that's it.
10k hours is just an exaggeration. I've seen people with less than 3k hours in battlefield 3 in jets being invincible and able to kill infantery soldiers better then other infantery.
It shouldn't be a prerequisit to have thousands of hours to have fun in medium to low level but it is. Given how many people call this a online "party" game which it isn't.

Shards take way too long to unlock each.
Maybe but i will be damned if i pay anymore money for this game.
And they give me something to play for as neither grades, MMR or the rest of the grind are really worth it.
I have all perks (that i have unlocked) on my oni and am working on getting all on one survivor and I would be mostly done with the insane grind.
Also the game itself is far from casually enjoyable as killer after a certain point and so working on getting the newest unlicensed killer/survivor would be the only real incentive to keep playing.
A grind that really gets you something, instead of the ludicrous grind to equip all killers or multiple survivor cosmetics (the different characters aren't much more than that) or even P3 them for some bloody cosmetics.
-
Hahaha ah yes, please give monetary value as compensation for stuff i only invested time into and not money.
"It's only so that i can buy other cosmetics to replace on my Leatherface" and whoops bought something completely different with them.
They would need to lock those auric cells to Leatherface cosmetics or even just replace the deleted head cosmetics with a free nee one.
And most importantly, who cares about killer cosmetics? You can't even see what you bought yourself and LF head cosmetics aren't even really fancy or overly noticable (but admittingly one of the most in line with it's franchise).

But where is the correlation between more BP and the increasing tryhardness of people?
Why would the go harder when they are guaranteed more BP?

Not really, i haven't played more than 10 survivor games since release and 80% or more of my dailies are still killer or can be rerolled to killer.

Devs never reverse decisions; to do so is an admission of defeat, something they will not allow
They did with the new, more realistic survivor movement animations.
Much, much work from the animators and so on but since survivor didn't want to relearn muscle memory and so on, it was rerolled.

Only the licensed ones. Because everything else is obtainable via shards.

It’s not a set a rules, I’m just saying that you guys can literally take the fundamental fun part of the game away if you felt like it. Survivors can’t stop you from chasing them, they can only be good enough to stop you from winning, but killers can deprive the lobby of the game experience if they wanted to. If I drop every pallet and loop you until the sun comes out, you still got to chase me right?
The chase is the whole fun part of the game. They can definitely make the chases less fun by being skilled, but the overall experience of losing a chase is not as boring as not having one at all.
Again I’m not saying killers can’t camp or tunnel and it’s never the right move, I’m just saying that when they do they can take the fun out of the game in a way we can’t do. And I don’t see how that’s more fun than trying and losing. That’s just my opinion.
You have misconception here as you, like already admitted, have no experience from the killer perspective.
The chase might only be fun if the killer has the option to out strategize or Mindgame the survivor.
Only following around a loop until the pallet gets inevitably dropped isn't fun. This also gets then less fun when survivor feel the need to BM at every opportunity they are 100% save aka after each god pallet/vault by tbagging.

Tbh this does reduce the grind a bit. If you're a veteran of this game you'll remember a time where the difference in % was so huge that tier 1 perks were basically empty slots. Enduring for example used to reduce the stun recovery by 25% in tier 1 and 75% in tier 3, so taking the tier 1 was useless. At least the tier 1 now is useable and you don't really need to grind for the tier 3 if you want to just test a build with it.
I'm still in favor of removing perk tiers though.
Let me start by making clear that i understand that you are not defending anything here and are also for the removal of perk tiers.
But the problem that remains is that the other tiers are still clogging the bloodweb and desired perks get blocked.
There have been more than enough threads on here that complain when specific perks, like my baby BBQ for example, don't show up in the maybe first 50 bloodwebs on a killer.
The multiple tiers are at fault here and the devs even show some form of pride in my quote that they are even more useless now but still a thing. Pure irony.

You could argue the same about CoH.
MoM gave an extra health state.
Don't misunderstand, i am fully supporting tuning down coh, fixing dh visual on killerside or giving the perk a real downside for its power, on demand nature and versatility.
I just think that MoM is a bad example to show that the devs care to nerf/balance survivor perks as fast as killer ones.

I would actually say if you DONT see at least 2+ dead hards every game, you are probably not at an MMR to be making statements on the games balance. Most overused perk in the entire game by a long shot.
Funny enough even at what should be considered bottom MMR it is used over 80% of all games by at least 2 people.
I don't try to kill survivor anymore for the last 2 years and should be at the bottom and still see lobbies with 3/4 dh regularly.

Off of the top of my head, Sony games are usually very good at this, with Ratchet + Clank: Rift Apart being very good, and I think TLOU:2 won The Game Award for best accessability. Spider-Man also has some pretty good options. Sony itself announced a website on the 16th December which explains which of it's games have which accessability features and pledged to include as many as possible.
Celeste is an indie game with some of the best accessability, too, even if it isn't immidiately obvious (the way it works here is that dying enough times will then give you the options for the features, with the accessability allowing players to adjust the difficulty as much as they need to).
WOW has amazing accessability for visually impaired players, with subtitled, Colourblind settings, HUD scaling, and the like. Maybe not for people with auditory disabilities/motor disabilities, but still.
Any game which features an extensive control remapping system (like AC: Valhalla) technically has good accessability features, as that (along with some gameplay changes, like the struggle change + soon to happen toggleable interactions + wiggle change) enables people with motor disabilities to play however is easiest for them.
Any game that has subtitles, a scalable HUD, vibration, Colourblind settings, and remappable controls is already doing pretty damn well in terms of accessability settings, and a lot of major games have them. It's something that a lot of people take for granted but can be really helpful to others.
Okay thanks, that helps me understanding the issue the op is addressing in terms of behaviour and DBD.
Yeah, most of those feature go under because I and probably most people don't need them and just acknowledge their existence without paying further attention.
-
Oh i love to go watch the stream vod of a TTV i played against.
As my playstyle is not killing anyone but getting 8hooks, it is always interesting to see at which point or if even they notice what i am up to and how they react to that.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
While OP didn't make this clear, people with hearing impairments (either partially deaf, so have to play using mono-directional audio instead of the usual directional audio, or fully deaf), photosensitive epilepsy (doctor/flashlights), motion sickness (a locked FOV and tying increased FOV to a perk or stretched resolution) or wrist issues (wiggling, holding an interaction button for long periods of time) aren't well catered to. There's definitely more I'm forgetting.
And while I assume that the devs are working to fix this (ie. colourblind settings, struggle changes, potential wiggle changes, Almo asking people to clip flashlight spammers on his stream so he can send over the team), there's still more that could be done (like DBD Mobile has the heartbeat show up physically, and this could easily be a toggleable option in-game).
Sorry if I am naive or uneducated here but are there any (mainstream) games out there that cater to any of those things outside of maybe subtitles and/or color blind modes?
I didn't see anything like that in neither lol, r6s nor rocket league to name a few online multiplayer titles but also not in any of my solo games iirc?
Or am I simply overlooking those as one of the lucky people without any of those restricting health problems?

There was a tournament where everything was allowed, he talks about that.
He used wrong data as always, but if balance = 2k, then it was balanced. Problem is that it was balanced only for 2 killers out of 26...
I know hence why I made the first argument.
Admitting i didn't knew of this new tournament.
But that doesn't disprove that the other killers are only balanced around restricted survivor in a tournament environment.

No actually when everything is allowed with no restrictions killers had a 2.65 average kill rate meaning that it's slightly killer sided.
Interesting. According to the summary @Dino7281 posted (which i didn't see before making my post) the average in those unrestrained tournament was 2.16 and not the 2.65 you now mention.
-
Iirc someone did this exact same calculation 1 or 2 years ago for all characters P3 + all perks and it ranged around 1.5 BILLION BP.
Now extrapolate that with 2 years worth of new characters and all their perks on all OLD characters and you can probably double or triple that amount.
-
@gendoss said:

Well I'm not losing that often but I still lose sometimes, I'm talking about the average kill rate. At this point people like Scott Jund and Otz think the game is at least balanced - killer sided. Scott made a video about how at tournament level it's evenly balanced.
This isn't to say that some killers shouldn't be buffed though, I think a lot of killers should like Trapper, Myers, Ghost Face, Bubba, etc, but the top tier killers like Nurse, Artist, Twins, etc., should be nerfed.
Also I really hate how people say that pallets and DH got buffed. They did not get buffed they became judged by the server which is the most even thing you could ask for. Previously it was literally judged by the killer's screen but now it's not. It was not buffed at all, it just works now.
Hahaha "at tournament level it's evenly balanced" 😂
Yeah the level where survivor get handicapped by perk selection and restrictions.
That's where it's balanced 😂
When the survivor and killer player are both tournament level skilled but the former get handicapped as to not to steamroll the latter. And those killers still have to rely on some form of camping and/or tunneling.
Sadly (assuming a working matchmaking aka same skilled survivor and killer players) in public lobbies there isn't any handicap.

Well before the "buff" it would look like this:
You dash forward, survivors stun you regardless and you got exhausted on your perk.
... yes Dead hard had this moments.
I agree overall they should fix it for both sides. Atleast the validation should feel fair.
If we are totally correct it would also often look like this:
You use the dash before the survivor is able to drop the pallet and doesn't even get the chance to stun.
Aka the reliable way to use dh for distance before and after the "buff".
-
@iThe1One said:
I wonder how the game would play out if a new 4.4m/s killer would be added BUT if he stays more than 10 seconds around a pallet/window he becomes a 4.7m/s killer, he can see the radius of that activation area around pallets/windows and will lose said bonus after 1 second of leaving said area.
So you mean a slightly buffed version of bloodlust?
10 seconds bound to an area for 4.7m/s
Vs
15 seconds in chase for 4.6m/s?
Doesn't seem really worth it.
-
This game has one of the worst long term grinds in pvp online multiplayer history.
No other game spews out so much new content and forgets to lower the costs of older stuff.
For example champions in league of legends or operator in r6s become cheaper the older they are. Or get straight up included into the base game to compensate for the ever growing mass of necessary unlockables.

As for the killer buffs this year :
boons give +90% heal rate
pallet/DH rollback hit detection
Wraith & Billy got massive nerfs
Your update is also not completely up to date 😜
You forgot stuff from the last chapter like the artist and nerfs:
Deathslinger gutting and xenobites most viable addon being destroyed (the first going way over the top and the second being debatable, but all of it done to mediocre non viable killers and without compensation in other aspects of their kit).
-
Sadly some of the devs have already said on stream that the stressful killer experience is intentional to some point.
Iirc the same stream they said if you can't deal with it go play something else to counter burnout, the meme line "go play civ6 for example".
So don't get your hopes up.

Well people DC over getting put on their death hook, trowing everything they earned during a trial away, loosing pips/MMR and still get the increasing time out.

This is every competitive game. You play League of Legends long enough, same thing happens. You play Starcraft II long enough, same thing happens.
I think a lot of people would be happier just playing against bots, so they can escape every game or get a 4k every game.
The previous MMR system was exactly like that for Killers, it gave Killers 4ks with every once in a great while an SWF thrown in.
The big difference is that most other competitive pvp games are first of all not asymmetrical and with that also properly balanced and have way less rng and one-sided potentials for crutches, aka survivor have the one-sided option of comms/premade teams for coordination and killer can't use hardcore camping/tunneling. Both things that make input from the other side impossible.

As @Myla already said, a pure double game mode like ranked and casual won't help but increase queue times dramatically or the majority will flood to one mode and it won't be different to now at some point.
You can see the same in for example league of legends. People trying their hardest to win against people with casual "playing for fun" attitudes in the normal queue and others lazing around in ranked games ruining it for the competitive people.
And that is just one example and that game has a mostly WORKING matchmaking system unlike DBD.
The only thing that could work would be something like the proposed random perk game mode but that would also come with some really unfair balance issues.

How has CoH and Exponential had 2 existing perks.
However, I think that is a cool idea, to have Lithe and Balanced Landing with a 24 meter area and that you can use either one of them if you aren't exhausted already. After you use one, it exhausts you.
Coh: self-care +botany knowledge
Exponential: unlimited unbreakable + healboost from wglf
