yeah sorry for not profusely apologizing because i dared to have fun in a video game

Strange, i find hard stomping my opponents incredibly boring.

And that's what most are talking about when they say a GG comes across as not nice.

yeah, the similarity stays as well for winning teams reaching out a hand to the losers as gesture of respect

And still doesn't change the feeling of the loser in any of those cases.

Good for the winners that they are good sports but they still don't consider the mood of the loser in not wanting any pity or like in the other thread much less advice.

good sportsmen dont mean it salty, you see handshakes regularly in pro sports, no matter where. but the dbd community is not pro in any way, 80% are salty lil b****s. I mean, are you not allowed to say anything? U really mean that? U have to wait for the losing team first? Like you may not say "have a nice day" or "good luck next match" you would always read it like "hope you find your skill next match, tehe"?

what is the winning side meant to say in your opinion? "sorry we stomped you, we are ass for doing so, we should have played with you, letting you hope for as long as possible before we strike the winning goal"? or just say nothing, lowering heads like they are guilty of anything?

Funny that saying nothing is suddenly "lowering their head like they are guilty".

    No one said that.

"Be graceful in Victory and defeat" aka say GG as the loser and read the mood as the winner and just move on.

And DBD doesn't have to be pro for this. The similarity stays, be it in DBD, lol, r6s and all pvp games, sports/video/cards/boars/whatever.

If you play an m1 killer you should not get surprised if you get absolutelly clapped, you asked for it, and regarding the bm, from my experience each time you get dunked on you will get trashtalked and bmd so its a given at this point and ill expect it from anyone who beats me in dbd.

How to avoid getting bmd? Well avoid getting dunked on, get better and start winning.

Uff, if it has become socially accepted to get cussed at and shittalked if you don't beat your opponent, then damn, i have to question if that's a world i want to keep living in.

How to avoid BM? Maybe have a shred of sportsmanshipt and remember your education, instead of throwing all manners into the wind as soon as you are anonymous. (No you personally but everyone)

DBD the only pace where even saying good game is an insult.

I love how the idea of simulated brutal murder doesn't offend folks but the mere idea that someone would have to audacity to be polite post game is just upsetting and disgusting.

I thought horror fans would have thicker skins than this, but I see that its really just a bunch of emotionally unstable glass egos.

Maybe rather than assuming gg is a taunt and upsetting yourself, say gg back and build a lil positivity in the online game experience.

    "DBD is the only place"?

Now just imagine any sport, for example basketball, and the match goes 25/0 for multiple sets.

And now imagine being on the losing side and getting told "good game" by the winners.

Does that feel good or sportsmanlike? At least i think not. It feels like an additional slap in the face. It obviously wasn't a good game but a one-sided slaughter and the winner didn't have a challenge and the loser not a chance. Empty or negative feelings for everyone involved.

A GG after something like that feels often like the "misery cherry" on top.

But in video games it has become the norm by now that only the victors say GG and the loser say nothing. I see it nearly every day in league and saw it in rocket league, rainbow 6 siege and overwatch.

I mean in the last scenario they deserve it, if you play an m1 killer expect to lose because you choose that when you choose that killer, the survivors dunked on you, they have the right to bm if they desire.

Okay that's one of the most ######### up mindsets i have seen on here since i am on this forum.

Because the killer didn't pick the strongest character survivor have the right to BM as they like?

So the other way around when survivor don't swf with comms and use meta perks the killer is free to BM to their hearts content?

Please tell me this is sarcasm i didn't pick on or you are high, because otherwise I have to really question your state of mind.

"The opposition didn't try their hardest so i am free to shittalk them" 🤦 Good riddance, just the idea.

BHVR is a few steps ahead, the Chat Filter actually censors "gg" from time to time.

Thats the weirdest thing of all, the "from time to time".

I also had some stuff censored in one game and then not in the next and often it makes you seem like a jerk when the **** are placed In an ambiguous part of a sentence.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/325719/i-genuinely-feel-bad-for-killers

One cannot fight against gen speed without kill speed. She should have learn to tunnel to keep the pressure up. Two hooks in about five minutes? I presume it means the team was pretty immerse (and in that case, camping may be more suitable)

That being said, I really don't like it when my teammates wait at the door when the game is already won. I find this childish and lame.

2hooks on all of us, reads more like all on deathhook.

The story sounds more, like other have already said here, like a 8hook/0kills killer like me and others.

Then the trial itself is no "suffering" but the "survivor wait for the whole 3 minutes for whatever reason" is still annoying and turns probably a good amount of fair killers away.

  • You had a match TODAY that didn't sit well with you?

Then judging by your usual posting you must experience a "groundhog day" effect since all your posts seems to be inspired by games that "didn't sit well with you".

The only difference this time is that you can't call the killer a "dirty camper/tunneler" but call them mediocre instead of accepting that their strategy paid off.

This game is either bring your best stuff if you want to win or stop caring about winning and bring what you want.

  • Here, my favorite from last year's anniversary:

    20210703_023940_HDR~2.jpg

5 cakes, casual non-camping/tunneling killer and the game was over in 4 minutes with 1-2 hooks.

"GG" /s (fyi they didn't say anything in after-game chat)

  • @Barbarossa2020 said:

Can we have the same option to speed up ecg for idiots standing at the gate?

Yeah i lose nearly 4 minutes every game when i have to wait for the survivors to ready up (yeah, yeah, "i have to check my loadout" or "i do my bloodweb during lobby and not the 5-10 queue before") and then another 3 when i don't want to feed the egos of 3-4 people that need an audience to leave.

Another reason why nice or casual killer become more and more of a rarity and the "all killer camp and tunnel" complains get more, survivor attitude, at least in my case.

And I am talking about situations with all remaining survivor alive and healthy in the exit. Not the "i am waiting for all my teammates to be save" and so on situations, there i have something to chase or interact with.

No, the "Nananananah, we are all safe in the exit, let's dance and if the killer pushes us out let's deny them any last hits" bullshit that is sadly not uncommon.

Best way to handle that ######### is by getting a drink, taking a leak or watching on YouTube. Btw also all options for the hiding, bleeding out survivors out there.

  • Sorry to say but English is another level.

This post is borderline impossible to understand, wording vise.

That you complain about something being hard on killerside is obvious but the individual complaints are nearly impossible to make out.

I bit disagree some survivors all like that but I think most respect that when killers play more fairly. Trying to hook everyone twice is very noble but obviously you lose games that way.

I can tell from roughly two years of experience of playing like that (roughly 100hours, yeah i know but i only play casually) that the majority won't care or show it and that the grateful are nearly as rare as the toxic ones. If i had to put numbers on it, 85% say/show nothing or GG (and the latter often only in case where 8 or even 4hooks/bbq stacks weren't achievable aka stomps), 10% are explicitly thank-/grateful and 5% think they won just by skill and are explicitly toxic.

Tbagging and/or flashlight spamming are done by roughly 40-50% on average.

Pity kill offerings and the like still are in the single digits unlike hatches given.

So i still miss to see incentives to play like this at the given balance and behaviour from survivors, outside having the personality for it.

  • @Deathstroke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2972193#Comment_2972193

Could be if killers would play more fairly probably survivors would not rush the gens as much. But when you completely have the game under control I don't think facecamping is really needed.

It isn't but as a killer that played intentionally horrible aka immediately leaving hooks for the other side of the map (fast unhook or not), ignored freshly unhooked survivor (even when they run into my face), slugged no one except on deathhook and only started intentionally killing after 8hooks, i can tell you that it isn't met with grateful or even nice survivor behaviour.

In most cases they just lose all respect and start bming the living hell out of you.

And in the outlier cases they thank you for it or go to straight up toxicity in end game chat.

So i see no real incentive to play like that except for being generally a nice person like i would say about myself. And even then the negative or missing feedback (not that i would be inclined to any good feedback) makes it feel less rewarding/satisfying to play like that.

  • Hmmm... Seems like i should reinstall the game to alleviate the situation for survivor a little bit with my 8hook/0kills no camping/tunneling/slugging playstyle. Maybe that will make them more happy.

Oh wait, no, that only leads to them taunting and bming the hell out of any friendly non tryhard killer up to after game chat dissing/insults.

Thank the tunneler/camper equivalents on the survivor side that not many friendly casual killer are left.

Both sides have driven each other into a corner over that years.

  • Okay, judging from your comment answers THIS particular game it was camping at 5 gens.

But have you seen the hefty amount of games where it gets from 5 gens to 2 in seconds? If they killer didn't preemptively created some king of pressure they are now way on the back foot here and have to sweat and stress themselves even more than normally.

If not more than half of all games would immediately go from 5 to 2 gens then i would say less people feel stressed to create preemptive early pressure.

If course there is the group if killer player that will do it either way and this has led to both sides going immediately ball to the walls tryhard to get the pressure advantage.

Maybe the guy in your game had the exact situation in their last trial that 3 gens got done at or before first down? I don't know and frankly and don't care anymore.

so if you have jigsaw's sketch and jigsaw's annotated plan does that mean there's 18 searchs?

Afai understand it yes, but each trap can still only have max 4 searches necessary for removal.

  • @Raccoon said:

If I'm understanding correctly, the box itself has no key....it's just based on number of searches....

IE Search 3 is the lucky search....It doesn't matter what box I search so long as it is my 3rd search?

The average number of searches is 3 to determine the max amount of 12 searches.

But each time a trap is placed it gets a random number 1-4 assigned and that's the number of boxes it needs to be searched to get off. That means you can have luck and only need on box or 4 with no specific box having the key but the amount of boxes searched is the criteria for the trap removal.

Edit: And i guess there is the restriction that every box can only be searched once.

This would not be possible due to having different MMR on each killer.

It would be very simple for players to queue up with their lower MMR killer to get weaker opponents and then switch whilst in the lobby.

They softened the MMR filter so far that i don't think the max killer MMR difference, which has a max value afaik, is significant bigger at this point.

And why is that a problem when MMR doesn't even factor in swf of various sizes?

Survivor of similar MMR can match prelobby and use comms and increase their success rate and efficiency but killer are left in the dirt? And that for years now?

  • @sonata93 said:

I will continually say it: DH is nowhere near as ridiculously OP as people make out.

    • Most baby survivors don't even have it (unless they play David)
    • Mid-tier survivors use it quite often but will literally use it just to dodge a hit (the point of the perk). They more than often still go down mere seconds after using it, particularly when they panic DH.
    • Sure, seasoned survivors really know how to use it at the exact right moment and usually manage to extend their chases. However, these are the minority and I don't believe any killer mains that say they repeatedly go against high MMR survivors who know how to impeccably use DH every single time. I say this as someone who 50/50's both sides - I more than often see survivors do goofy things like DH into a rock or a wall or something. It makes me whiff and then they go down like 3 seconds later. 😂

I would call those "stats" just as subjective as the rest on this forum.

I threw my games for more than a year, so my MMR should've been rock bottom at the end and even then many survivor used dead hard more often to reach a pallet or a window than to dodge a hit.

And you might call my experience also subjective but i wouldn't believe yours more than mine and simply end at agree to disagree.

  • @dictep said:

My opinion.. if you find so many dh, and dh is a third heal state and you have a lot of 3k with trickster... killers are op

Ah yes, all killer are op because trickster, the killer that ignores dh THE EASIEST with his knives, isn't too bothered by the perk next to nurse and blight.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

Well, no. Because each killer has their own unique mmr. It would be fun though, if I was queued as anyone, got a TTV, I could swap over to Leatherface and give their audience a show. It would probably be easy too as all of my killers are way lower on the mmr scale relative to my chad Bubba.

Well the devs have softened the matchmaking parameters wider than the MMR difference between your max and min MMR killer.

So i don't think that this is a reason against killer swap anymore.

You won't be able to strategically swap to a better killer if you don't think of an obvious swf. And matchmaking doesn't even take swf vs solo in account so it shouldn't be a problem for the survivor.

  • They softened the matchmaking parameters since the implementation of the new MMR system already because the top MMR did wait too long in queue and only had sweat matches.

Aka it's close to free for all MMR wise again.

    Good luck

Addendum: killer character specific MMR is btw also more than anything just lip service. If you compare the system to a point ELO system, your new killer is starting at a middle value of MMR and/or not more than 200/300 ELO points below or above your other or your best killer characters. So it is basically useless and you will have many bad matches with a new and maybe mechanically demanding killer.

And as a bonus, switching killer during pregame lobby is still no longer possible despite all those promises.

Honestly, how sad and pathetic can your life be if you start camping as soon you got a hook at 5 GENS?! Why are the scummy Killers always online when 1.5/2x BP events start? Your basically ruining everyone’s purpose to play the game and how can you enjoy yourself for starting up DBD and staring for 2 min at every survivor on the hook?

Here something from a friendly 8hook/0kill BP killer, this is an example from last anniversary:

    20210703_023940_HDR~2.jpg

Playing casually plague for a daily with the perks i had on her at that time.

Didn't stop the survivor from going balls to the walls hard, even with 2 hooks all game.

So please stop talking as if not both sides can be asses no matter the BP on the plate.

  • Nah sorry, even i that quit preferred to lose rather than to sit around a hook for minutes. The boredom.

  • So wait, one person was dead, 2 on death hook and you in chase? How often have you been hooked? And if none, what have you been doing in the time it took the Sadako to get the amount of 7 hook states?

This sounds like a group of solo goons just got creamed and you were unlucky to get chased for so long and instead of going down before condemn was full stacked, you kept the chase going for however long only to be instant moried.

  • Still, survivor being able to increase their success chances by average 15% (which means it ranges between zero and much more) by teaming up and using comms and meanwhile killer can't do anything of the sort (you can't change to a stronger killer anymore upon suspicion of an swf) and the game/matchmaking isn't balanced in consideration is still ridiculous to this day.

Even games like lol and r6s have a filter in matchmaking that TRIES to put premade team vs team and solo vs solo.

  • All hail our lord and saviour Lightborn 😎

  • No, i don't look it up but being on here quite frequently you get a feeling for people when they post similar post over a long time.

I am not acting like the DH gripe isn't a new thing. I know it's been a well populated topic for years since they first introduced it. I fully read every patch that comes out with this game in hopes they actually nerf something involving the killer. It almost never happens, instead they get "reworked". Boil Over got a buff because they wanted people to use the perk more.....how long did it take for boil over to get buffed? Before that COH was released. Killers cried their ass off because it was "too strong". How long did that take to get nerfed? A few months maybe? My point has been clear. Unless you can outweigh the differences here to have a pretty solid argument against mine then you must play a different game then I do. Killers get catered to more than survivors. Period

Here is a pretty solid argument that you preferred to ignore, second half of it is addressing your original statements:

And both of you belong to the club of people completely ignoring the dead hard for distance which is the more popular use by skilled survivor without any counterplay, except for the few ranged/pounce killers.

The dodge can be messed up, the distance one can only be messed up by being too greedy or beijg out o position in a dead zone.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2957232#Comment_2957232

    6. Starlost isn't talking about Sadako but alchemist ring from blight. And I don't know why you would think Sadako would need any nerf, her power is completely in control of the survivor and has immens cool downs.

And to wraith, his speed up after uncloaking has already been nerfed but what i get from you talking about seeing no killer(perk) nerfs i assume you have a case of selective awareness and see only what you want. Deathslinger, pyramidhead, wraith, Freddy, cenobites add-ons, everything nerfed because survivor found it unfun.

And to your point about killer complains leading to immediate nerfs, DS took 2 years, keys were changed nearly a year after Mori's, coh took over 3 months to get to it's actual state and dh is complained over for the last 4 years and became more prominent after validation where distance as well as dodge became safe options. And I guess you have boil over in mind when talking about fast changes after killer complains, but guess what, that was on the level of abuse and had to be fixed.

And now to the post i quoted from you right now:

Let's ignore the empty Blabla in the first half.

I fully read every patch that comes out with this game in hopes they actually nerf something involving the killer. It almost never happens, instead they get "reworked"

Strange that the killer changes i mentioned in my quoted post aren't all reworks but straight up nerfs to their base powers, mechanics and add-ons.

Boil Over got a buff because they wanted people to use the perk more.....how long did it take for boil over to get buffed? Before that COH was released. Killers cried their ass off because it was "too strong". How long did that take to get nerfed? A few months maybe?

Okay now to this, boil over? It was broken into being abusable and survivor abused the heck out of it with rod. So the only blame lies on survivor using it to excess when they get something abusable.

And to counter your "coh was nerfed so fast because killer cried" i give you the undying nerf less then 3 months after release. Both perks way too strong, had to be nerfed and created a complain-storm from the respective side.

  • @Viskod said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2966795#Comment_2966795

They do get a notification, but the only time they'd be able to vault a pallet within 3 seconds is if they were already close to a pallet that had already been dropped.

Having to run around a loop where vaulting would be ideal or having to run to another tile can be just as bad. It doesn't just punish mistakes.

I'm saying saying its a game changer, but it'll have its uses. It's not terrible.

3seconds at base speed is 12 meters, more with the hit sprint boost (dunno the value).

That should be normally enough of a headstart to make it to another loop, with the exception of mobility or projectile killers.

It remains a niche perk, whose effect lies completely outside of the killers influence. It is upt to the survivor to vault the pallet or not.

And even worse when it is like you said and there isn't even any dropped pallet, again extremely niche and in my eyes not worth this or any hype over it.

  • @Viskod said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2966747#Comment_2966747

Vault what pallet immediately? Are you assuming that the only times survivors get their first hit by killers they are immediately next to dropped pallets?

A dropped pallet survivor tend to loop around?

Not every killer is like me and breaks every pallet immediately for points (yes i don't play to win but for BP, fun, meme and stuff).

My point is that if survivor get a notification after the hit then, after a bit of experience with the perk, survivor have all the agency to deny it's effect, given they aren't in a dead zone with only one pallet as an option. So it's not a perk to empower a killers decision making but a perk trying to get survivors to make a mistake.

Personally i don't care for this perk, i don't use meta and play whatever i feel like with the exception of bbq for points and our lord and saviour Lightborn. I just don't see any hype necessary for a mediocre effect that lies probably in the hands of the survivor.

  • I don't know, do survivor get a notification after getting hit?

If yes, then they can just vault a pallet immediately after the hit and then strategically switch to using window only, if the map layout fits, and the perk will be hard counterable by survivors aka the whole effect of the perk might be in survivors hands.

  • Certainly an interesting idea but i guess would be broken on some high mobility killer.

Also i don't think DBDs engine could handle something like that especially around the corners of a map.

Also also many maps aren't really square and would end up with wonky transition borders.

  • Good, then maybe both should also be called in the same breath, otherwise we get the same subjectively unfair timing in nerfs as with Mori/key and others i can't remember ATM.

Edit: Which would be my biggest worry in the "buffing solo to swf level and balancing killer accordingly" topic. If the do something like that and take again months to years for the second half then they will either kill their game effectively or shy away from the process like they did with so many promised changes.

Whats wrong with SWF? Just because you find 1 tourney squad in 1000 matches doesnt make the other 99% you encounter OP.

So in accordanve with the fact that swf will probably never get nerfed, so nurse should also never get nerfed?

That's the takeaway when you make the reverse argument here. Either the top of both sides needs trimming or none of the two.

  • Don't know.

But that might also be one reason why i, despite playing this game since release, have still only 297 hours in it and stopped playing it after the mentality of many players got more competitive since implementation of SBMMR but the hoped for according balance changes didn't happen in the first 7-8 months after that and as an result the game became even less fun.

  • Oh no, killer get the equivalent perk to survivors "small game" aka a perk that many survivor already deem useless and IS useless if the opposition doesn't bring a boon/hex perk. 🙄

Also like other said, it remove one potential gen slowdown perks from the killers loadout, so you should be happy sluzzy.

Edit: Also your disclaimer is worth nothing when it hides the fact that you are a Uber nurse/blight main on one side and a scrub survivor on the other.

Talking about a skewed biased view on the game.

    Well the thing is

I see much more surv that dc cuz they are the first downed than killers that dc cuz ruin is gone.

    I wonder why, in a 4vs1 game?

Also DC/suicide is done in the first minute of a game. Waiting until the gens are done can take ages and if survivor are even more petty, it can be dragged out indefinitely by survivor.

The game still needs the option for the killer to force open the gates if nothing happens (gens being worked on/getting done) for 5 minutes. With the added criteria to ignore gen tapping to circumvent it aka the 5 minutes timer runs until a gen gets worked on for 10/20 seconds straight AND is then only halted for a certain time and not reset.

  • Well, while i certainly don't like giving up in any kind of team pvp game, seems like it was only a matter of time until killer also start behaving like that.

In a huge amount of games you have survivor giving up by either dcing or suiciding on first hook if they don't like something and now killer do the same when too many gens get done during/right after first chase/down.

Both behaviours are detrimental to the game and will make matters worse but oh well, seems like that's the course DBD is going.

People who believe they are too good for our lord and savior, Lightborn deserve to get chain blinded. Once they become enlightened, they will be protected from this shameful disgrace.

Preach the word brother. Hail the lord 😎

i play both sides but mostly killer with the dev stream confirmed that top meta perks are getting reworked or nerfed i honestly dont see the game being healthier if BT gets reworked or nerfed tunneling and facecamping would be alot more frequent id say the rest of the meta perks is absolutely fine to change (Lookin at you Dead hard and noed)

And you forgot that they said they are going to change base game mechanics and the mentioned perks. Not only change/nerf the latter.

So the will probably address basic gameplay like camping/tunneling or make perks base kit.

So maybe, like it's always said after an announcement, let's wait and see what they are going to do instead of worrying/complaining about potential changes that didn't even happen right now.

It's really not that simple though. You have to consider gen perks, survivors finding gens, attempting to unhook, etc.

Hahaha, here you ask to consider all factors, rng or not but in your own threads and other anti killer arguments you disregard everything because you only think about your own nurse/blight tryhard gameplay.

    The double standards 🤣

But that's nothing new to be honest.
