I was getting some ridiculous hits as survivor, like I'd be on other side of a car bad.
-
When I was opted in frames felt worse, seemed more glitchy/laggy for me as survivor or killer. Opted out and it's the regular bad frames/glitches.
-
If you're red rank matched with other red ranks that means matchmaking is working.

For these types of reports you will need evidence, video preferably but failing that get as many screenshots of the angles as you can and then report in game and then send the additional evidence to Support (it will get looked at) : https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us
It's most definitely griefing.
For body blocking being labeled as "not bannable" could that be clarified for when survivors block a killer (killer can hit through to stop) v Killer blocking survivor/survivor blocking survivor (can't move)? Think alot think they can't report the can't move body blocking as griefing.
Edit: Just incase confusion - have it clarified on the post of what is/isn't reportable. :)

I've had that happen a bunch. Also had the killer face camp at start of the match. Figure the killer had bad match and decided to take it out on next group of survivors. Had facecamp/tunnel happen the other day, Wraith just banging bell in my face. Two randoms decided to ignore gens and hang out waiting to save me when I hit struggle. He immediately tunneled me and I was out. Did the same to the other players. Guessing he had really bad previous match and didn't have any ebony moris.

Just because you see it posted online a lot does not make it common. Hackers are rare. DBD has millions of players so there are bound to be people posting about the very small percentage of hackers that exist. You are just falling for availability bias.
Or you're just in denial about how common hackers are.
-
Escape as obsession is annoying because you need to hope you are not only the obsession at the start of the match but also there are no perks in play to make you lose being the obsession. I played with my brother last night to help him escape. First match he puts on DS to increase his chances to be obsession, I was running no obsession perks and I started the match as the obsession (I did not have that challenge on). Second match he switches to Mettle of Man, this time he starts as obsession but shortly into match someone else becomes the obsession. Took several matches for him to be able to be the obsession when he was escaping.

Sounds like you just want to believe all your losses are because of hackers. Hackers are not that common and thinking everyone you are playing against is hacking is a bad mindset.
Nice assumption but wrong. I'm on PS4 with crossplay off so I don't experience hackers there. My losses are from my own play (mostly), my teammates (yay solo), and bad console optimization (they really need to fix this). Didn't say everyone was a hacker, common does not mean everyone just that it's not rare. Seeing multiple hacking posts on the forums recently, daily on social media like FB groups, and seeing streamers keep getting hacked does not make hacking appear to be a rare occurrence in DBD.

Haa Haa yeah I know how that becoming a pro at missing my hits might have to equip unrelenting 🙈 it's not good thank you for feeling bad for us truly means alot you care about our experience and I equally care about your bad frame issues.
See we are doing through our bad frame rates killers and suriviors are making peace lol
🐷💖
I play both sides but definitely more survivor. I can't take killer serious enough to give people a challenge, I just end out doing dumb crap like choosing a random place to mark people as Ghostface and watch them run around scared of the insta down. The worse frames definitely don't help me not want to mess around, if anything they encourage it. 😂
There's more than enough players that only care about one side that I don't have to be like that. 😂 It's not fun to win because the other side was glitching out and I know they couldn't do anything about it. If I notice the frames are destroying their game I'll give myself up to them, they don't deserve a 0k because they had a slideshow. It's like if a killer farms with me after others quit or they killed 2 survivors fast and want to get BP with the other living survivors. Unless I have a specific escape challenge I'm having them sacrifice me because they deserve the points, I'll even crawl back in if they try to drop me at the gate to have the entity take me. I've had few killers that know how to position the drop to force me out the gate. 😂

Because people are more likely to post about hackers they encounter than they are about all the games where they play a normal game of dbd.
Could also say the ones that are posted on forums/social media are only the most egregious and many that encounter hackers just accept it as something that comes with online multi-player games (comment I've seen on multiple posts about hackers) so they don't post about every encounter.

We are not allowed nice things lol I'm getting bad frame rate on pig that has no flashy skins so there's that just got screwed out of two perfect dashes because it was a slide show on pre school.
🐷😭
I always feel bad when I know a killer missed me because frames definitely dropped for them. There are definitely some bs hits I take as survivor that make up for it (especially now with hit validation) but it definitely feels bad to whiff and know it was the frames.
-
If Blight cosmetics screw up frames would Legacy if they were on console? Also, if they actually have the mask change faces for the Legion cosmetic that won would that screw up frames on console? 🤔
-
I kind of find it funny ONLY because of all the people commenting on the forums that hackers are rare and they never see them even though there's multiple posts/comments on the forums/social media about encounters with hackers during games and now for 3rd time a streamer has been hacked with DC penalty. Obviously hackers are a problem in DBD, and fairly common, and whatever devs have in place isn't a challenge for hackers.

Definitely good to know I wasn't imagining things. 😂 My brother plays too and he was like "you're just not playing as much" and I was like no I'm playing same amount - I played and beat Maneater and played through Until Dawn once during the last rift and was further ahead than I am now.

I would be fine with crossplay if Console players weren't at a disadvantage compared to PC players. I can miss 3 swings on Mother's Dwelling simply because I am getting like 10 FPS, while the Survivor on PC is getting 60. Switch players are even worse off than PS4 and Xbox players, they get even fewer frames.
They need to prioritize console optimization, especially in light of crossplay being enabled.
This. PC players should help push for console optimization so it's a balanced experience rather than just telling console to just turn it off. Fix the FPS issues that plague console and put them at a disadvantage to PC. That is why console asks for console only crossplay, because right now the playing experience is unfair due to optimization issues.

It's baffling that the issue has gone on as long as it has. Framerate drops when you gain bloodlust, play certain killers, play certain maps, or mist offerings to the point where it's headache inducing. How much worse is it going to get before something is done about it? Can we at least get an official response? Honestly, if there is no chance for optimization, can we at least know about it so we don't hold false hope that the game will be fixed?
I don't think they'll say they won't optimize console because if they did they could lose portion of console player base. Also doubt it will actually be improved for next gen, they're not saying anything because they hope people will buy on next gen since people are already assuming it will improve. I keep seeing "they're not going to optimize with next gen coming" but the silence from them makes me think it won't be and they don't want to discourage people from getting it on next gen.

I noticed after level 1 of this tome it felt like I didn't progress as far as usual, same with level 2.
-
I had a rank 1 Nurse disconnect yesterday. She chose the Game map and had purple add ons. I was first to be chased within probably 15 seconds of the start of the match and after maybe 45 seconds of a chase (no gems popped) she gave up and disconnected. End game screen showed she was still rank 1 so don't think she lost a pip for the DC.
-
That bug has been around for awhile. I made a post about it back in May but had been happening to me couple times a month before that. Sometimes it leaves map name sometimes it doesn't.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/152383/ps4-no-hud-while-playing-as-survivor#latest
-
Sometimes if I do that it's because I realized another survivor was nearby and I don't want to screw them over so I gave the killer keep chasing me.
-
I've gotten myself unstuck while wiggling/trying to run away for a bit. Takes awhile but it's possible. Think it took me like 2 gens and a person's hook state in one match.

Or have another survivor open a chest and watch as you either miss a skill check or miss mashing the struggle button because of a worldwide FPS drop.
I've had it from survivor cleansing a totem, dull if nearby or lit from anywhere on map. When Doctor uses blast across the map. When a gen gets completed, especially annoying if you're on hook with adrenaline with plenty of struggle time left. When people bring up skill checks instead of button mashing on hook I just think I'm still going to die from the same crap that causes the mash to mess up. 😂
-
I feel like I'm getting worse hits than I was before when in the lobby it's showing ping between 50-60. I was hit behind the killer, hit on other side of a car, and when killer is so far back their red stain isn't even touching me anymore.

He'd have the best chase music. 😂

I'd hope someone that plays DBD for a living would be able to do that. Be odd if he didn't win most games. 😂

Right, so you think that a game that has been out for 4 years (3 Years console) that has so many bugs that they're now just features, they release a DLC every 3 months without fail resulting in more bugs, release cosmetics every other week and constantly ignore players actual feedback is fine? I've watched some of their Q&A streams and they literally cherry pick the yes/no questions. They blatantly ignore the legitimate questions about issues in the game. This whole thread is an example. Where has a Dev even spoken to anyone? I don't deny the game takes time and money to change but 4 years is no excuse. This game is basically EA. They want us to pay more and more for features they add, but where are the bug fixes we ask for? Where are the optimizations we need? You can't just release the game to consoles then decide you prefer PC better. We paid money for a game that should be in working order, yet it breaks more and more everyday. Console Optimization was promised to use LAST YEAR and where is it? Did we hear anything about it? No, which in turn annoys more and more people because of the lack of communication. If the devs actually just said 'We're working on it, here's X of what we've done', I 100% guarantee that everyone would accept it and be happy that we know at least something. The simple fact is, the Devs pick and choose what they remain silent over and what the scream from the heavens about. It's a complete joke.
Well said.
If they have no interest in optimizing console they 1. Should not have said they were going to optimize console and 2. Pushed ahead with crossplay with PC knowing there is a disadvantage for console. Console players have bought DLC, cosmetics, and rifts - they are paying customers being ignored. Console said hold off on crossplay until they fix optimization issues so it would be balanced with PC, devs pushed ahead anyway because PC complained about wait times. Console players put money toward the game to not see the Devs work on making console a better playing experience.

Farming can turn into griefing if the other survivors help the killer by giving away your position, blocking you in a place allowing the killer you down/hook you and farming you off the hook until you die while the killer stands next to the hook not giving you a chance to play the game.
That's the kind of "farming" that's bannable as it's farming by working with the killer.
If a killer just innocently tries to get you to farm it's not bannable in any way as you can't force killers to "play seriously" since it would be impossible to determine whether someone played seriously or not.
This. I can't imagine reporting someone for griefing when they're trying to make sure everyone gets BP. Just finish the gens and leave if you don't like it.

It's in ALL of ######### online gaming nowadays, try playing league of legends, at least a team of 3 or even 4 in your group while you get ignored. Try play call of duty and watch the damn clantags popup, heck even ######### diablo3 has my GF playing with 3 damn other ppl because I'm "boring and uneducated".
Diablo 3 she plays with others because you're "boring and uneducated"? Diablo 3 doesn't require any thinking or strategizing at all. We were playing that game with my nephew when he was 9/10 because it's so easy/basic. My boyfriend would legit fall asleep while playing it because it's so easy/uneventful. 😂

Yes but difficult say you as a killer on ps4 and the survs on some other format, farming would be harder to do.
A decent amount have opted out on ps4. You could opt out too if you need to farm for challenges.
-
Chest offerings I only use if I have a challenge.
Hook offerings I don't see use for - as survivor I'm awesome at getting downed under a hook and as killer I don't normally have trouble carrying a survivor to a hook.
Luck offerings are pretty useless since it only applies to unhooking yourself.
Mist offerings I avoid because they just mess up frames for killers on console so I don't want an unplayable match as killer or make it unplayable for the killer.
Map offerings I only use to complete certain challenges or I've been sent to same realm for last 5 matches and want a change of scenery.
-
From the hit validation post: "Our goal with Dead by Daylight is to provide an online game that is as clean and fun as possible."
Hard to believe this statement with current state of console.
-
Console people keep bumping this post, meanwhile the closed post about error 112 for pc that was fixed a few days ago is still pinned to the top. I'm laughing, but it's a sad laugh.

Aight found a minor cause for some low frame games on console. This'll help a bit.
Characters that have dripping effects such as the hallowed blight skins make frames drop. I would recommend taking off charms and cosmetics that have this effect. As well as this ive found that bright cosmetics (not bright colours, like a glowing effect with the tier 70 charms) also hinder the frames a bit. I just wouldn't use any hallowed blight things.
This would also explain why Demo's frames are so low, with the constant dripping effect of saliva in his mouth.
For all console nurses out there, do not use the jack O lantern head piece, my friend tested that head and he was having horrible frames due to the effect it spawns.
So the Blight that comes standard with that look is definitely going to be unplayable on console.

They haven't said anything and ps5 comes out in 3 months so the silence doesn't give me high hopes. 😬

Hopefully Devs don't see this as some bandaid fix for console because it might work for some and not others. Console needs to be optimized instead of forced to adjust settings to 720p.

Exactly. I'd be great if more people had this attitude.
I mean, with crossplay and their response of "just opt out" when people brought up concerns about the optimization issues between console and pc it showed they don't really care about the console players so why keep giving them money? There's zero incentive as a console player to keep buying DLC/cosmetics, especially if console has to wait for next gen - may as well save the money I'd spend on DBD extras for a ps5 instead. 😂
-
I think they should've made an offering to increase totems.
-
I'm on ps4. When I had crossplay on I was waiting around 10 minutes for a match. I turned it off and I only wait a minute or two, killer or survivor.

I have bought every DLC for this game on PS4 with the exception of the Oni and Yui, I used shards to aquire those characters. I will not be purchasing The Blight as he will be unplayable due to the low framerate and being clunky making him very difficult to control with a controller. I would love to continue supporting this game but their priorities are so mixed up.
I've bought every DLC and bought some of the licensed cosmetics including the Lisa legendary skin. I'm not buying the upcoming DLC, or any other, until they start fixing the console issues. Seems silly to keep buying things for console but not see console get supported.

The game IS rated M 17+.
Not that that means anything, but it's right on the cover. The parents can't say they weren't warned.
Yes, the game is rated 17+. Right now if kids play it DBD has the defense "it's an adult game with licensed DLC from adult franchises, kids shouldn't be playing it." They add a licensed DLC to the game from franchise that was targeted towards kids they lose that argument because it will be "why are you adding kid targeted franchise dlc to an adult game if kids shouldn't play it?" followed by demanding the game be made more kid friendly.
