I had that happen the other day. Killer and a survivor DC during loading. My swf teammate had regular end game screen from not loading from player DC but I had this.

Adding to the list:
When someone screams from madness/shock. Was playing Swf, teammate's frames dropped during struggle when someone screamed across map. Not sure if it was shock or just madness from doctor.
I guess it's a bad day to play against Doctor on console. I had been hit with a single blast and was injured. While healing I had couple skill checks then screen did fps drop after sound of skill check and the skill check itself only flashed on the screen so I missed the skill check even though it cutaway on its own. Finish healing without having anymore skillchecks, get hit with blast again. Now every time static hits my screen I get fps drops. Try to work gen and hear skill check sounds but nothing popping up on my screen. My swf teammate gets hooked and after couple hits of struggle frames drop and he dies. Random gets downed and DC while being hooked. At this point I can't even work gen from frame drops so I just run up to Doc to have him kill me. Previous match and next match back to the regular crappy fps. Seems like playing against Doctors is just causing extra bad fps issues today.

DC after first down has been an issue for ALL platforms since before crossplay, there were plenty of posts here complaining about it for DC penalties to be a thing - many coming from pc players. Quit trying to push the console v pc thing trying to make your platform sound better with things that were complained about by both sides BEFORE crossplay. The players DC now on first down are the same ones from before crossplay, it has nothing to do with what platform they think they're playing against because they don't know and it happens with crossplay on or off.

Tomorrow is a big day for us console players as the graphical update drops, I will be testing performance on as many maps and killers as I can; I will report back to this post with my findings.
I'll check killers as well. Will also see if there's any improvement to the list I've shared here to survivor gameplay or if it gets worse.

I have crossplay off on ps4, turned it off after giving it a chance the first day. My wait times with it off haven't been bad at all for killer or survivor.

Played with xplay on and off today as survivor.
While off... Fair game, functional dead hard and vaulting is possible.
While on... Been put into dying state exhausted due to pressing X for dead hard many times and vaulting is merely possible...
The fps is key in this game. I can't have fun with xplay on...
And since it is key... Fix it so we don't get screwed by something out of our control. That's frustrating.
When I had crossplay on the game felt worse. Way more laggy/glitchy than normal.

I was a console player (PS4 and later Xbox) for at least two years. To put it into perspective, The Pig was the first new Killer I got to experience on console, and Deathslinger was the last, before making the transition to PC. Those days where insta-heals were a thing, Decisive Strike was a get out of jail for free card and and Freddy was...well...Freddy.
By the time the frames got as bad as they are now, i had already made the switch, so that's why I went back to Xbox to give it a try. It was horrible. Starting on console, my eyes were used to the framerate issues it's always suffered, but it has certainly gotten worse since I was last on it. Not only does it perform worse, but visually it just looks...bad in comparison to PC. The state it's in now compared to the PC version is inexcusable and for them to (most likely) ignore current gen in favour of hoping for better performance on next gen is just gross. I don't wish any ill will on the devs, but for this issue to go ignored for almost TWO YEARS is just wrong. I really do hope something comes of this thread and the people speaking out, because the state that console is in now is inexcusable when you're charging premium prices for cosmetics and the rift pass AND chapters.
I think the fact that it's not only a noticeable difference between PC and console but also from the last time you played console says alot about the lack of care that's gone into console performance.

100% on what you said. I don't know why BHVR keeps questioning why the console community is acting the way we are acting, when, they are the sole reason why we are acting like this.

I turned it off and I've seen a bunch on here say they've turned it off. Waits for either side with crossplay off on ps4 is only 1-2 minutes so decent amount have to have turned it off for waits to not be long.

I turned off Crossplay the day it came out, after several laggy af surv rounds and two of three truely soul crushing attempts to roll out my Piggy.
Each of the three were all globes, running the usual perks around my lowly rank of 13. All three games were indoor maps of course, and the last one was two, two mind you, Lery's offerings and a fog enhancer. I do not think any of the matches were SWF, or they lacked obvious coordination.
1. Gideon. One kill purely due to a 16 Claud not knowing an active trap kills at the gate. Frame drops when breaking pallets, a gen popping, and in particular applying Sloppy ram me into walls really badly. Last gen popping froze the game for a few seconds.
2. Lab. Two dc when we load in, lots of booping of snoot and farming action the rest of the way. Only frame drops I noticed were bloodlust poppin n droppin, and for each of the four unhook animations.
3. Lery's. During the camera 360 turn when we loaded in the game froze for a couple seconds. Lost frames when I hit bloodlust each and every time, causing several whiffs. Lost more frames each time I had to vault of all things, something new to me or I never noticed it before. Gen popping close froze game a bit. Frames very bad in the center room I tried to stay outta there. The simplest butt wiggle in front of me and I hit air. 0 kills.
Bottom line:
Lery's + fog offering + Xbox = bad day at the office.
I turned crossplay after the first day as well. Between bad teammates and the game feeling even worse with frames/lags I was done after trying a dozen matches on the first day. My waits were actually worse with crossplay on, as soon as I turned it off I was getting into lobbies much faster. If I couldn't turn off crossplay I would've just deleted the game after that first day because it was awful.

I think someone mentioned using the perk 'For The People' at the exit gates for the Obsession challenge. As long as the Killer isn't on your heels trying to chase you off the Entity's Lawn, should be viable.
I know it's doable, all the challenges on that list are. It's not whether or not they're doable but rather how obnoxious they are because you're relying on rng, teammates, or killer's load out.
-
@KingFrost said:
Challenges I think require too much:
-Finish repairing 4 generators with the perk Dark Sense in a single trial
-Sacrifice 4 Survivors in the basement. In one trial.
-Escape 1 trial using No Mither
-Grab 1 survivor from a locker using the perk Iron Maiden
-Hide within 10 meters of the killer without being caught for 60 seconds as Dwight
-Escape 1 trial when your next time on the hook would immediately sacrifice you as Kate Denson
-Hit survivors 5 times in a single use of Feral Frenzy
-15 hatchet hits in a single trial
Add escape as the Obsession in one trial.
-
Someone did out the math and this tome the challenges give you way less rift fragments than tomes 2 and 3. Pretty much they nerfed it and made it super grindy like tome 1 again.

Let's focus on what issues you have with console.
Some examples of times frames drop for killer:
Entering bloodlust
When fog offerings are used
On maps like Lery’s and Midwich
When using Doctor
When Myers tiers up
Using certain cosmetics like Blight outfits
When frames drop for killer it can cause:
Slideshow/stutter effect that is disorienting for the player.
Stutter that causes the killer to lose a survivor in chase
Stutter that causes killer to miss a hit on a survivor
Examples of times frames drop for survivor:
When hit with Sloppy Butcher.
When exposed status goes into effect - NOED, Mikey tier 3, GF mark, Devour Hope, Haunted Grounds, etc.
If a survivor cleanses totem nearby - dull or lit.
If a survivor searches a chest nearby.
When a gen finishes.
When another survivor is hooked.
During skill check on gen if another survivor hops on.
If Hag trap is set off nearby.
When frames drop it can cause:
Miss skill checks.
Stutter during chase that causes survivor to be hit/downed.
Survivor to miss ability to vault/drop pallet.
Survivor to stop struggling on hook.
Adding to my list:
As survivor entering into Freddy's Dream World
As Ghostface entering into stealth

I'm counting down the days until September 8th, I hope the mods are prepared for the huge influx of complaints once the graphical update drops.
I have seen the optimization question in the Q&A section which has a lot of upvotes. If BHVR don't respond to that question there is gonna be a lot of upset people i think.
My main concern about that question is they'll just focus on the graphic update part and not answer the fixing other fps issues for console. I'm hoping they don't do that and actually answer what their plans are for fixing fps on current consoles, especially since they are closing "duplicates" that directly ask about fps issues. There is one I saw that hadn't been closed titled "console" that is just about optimization that last I checked didn't have many upvotes.

I read "we will continue to update current consoles" as a middle finger to us tbh. Maybe im wrong time will tell. As far as spending money i'm with you and made that decision almost a year ago. I will get the next gen consoles when a game gets released for it that i want. I don't want the first releases anyway, history has shown what issues those have had. The idea for someone to have to spend $500 to properly play a game they bought almost 3 1/2 years ago seems absurd to me.
My ps4 is currently running just fine so unless something happens to it I don't plan on getting a ps5 at launch. Like you said the first releases tend to have issues. I'd rather wait to avoid that as well as wait for the new games to go through their first few patches so when I play I can avoid as many bugs as possible. I'm not going to rush out to buy a new console for an old game that has only allowed the issues on current consoles to become worse instead of fixing them. Hopefully on the Q&A they answer the current console optimization questions with a straightforward answer about fixing fps.

Its because they are selfish and under the mentality "it doesnt bother me so why should i care". Kinda why america is a joke as well
It's like they didn't even bother reading the post. It's not about not liking crossplay, it's about not liking optimization not being balanced between platforms. Only reason people shouldn't want console to be optimized for a fair game is because they're enjoying the disadvantage console has and is giving PC easier games.

Then turn it off. I don't understand all of this complaining. If you don't like it. JUST. TURN. IT. OFF.
Because console players would like the devs to fix the issues that are causing the games to not be balanced. I don't get why people just say "turn it off" instead of help push to have the game balanced between platforms.

mandy barely responds to criticism in general, especially when mandy is being corrected, it wouldn't have matter if I did go off or not. I went off not because my emotions were attacked or something, but because of how much wrong-doing mandy was....doing. Like have you seen how mandy handles things on the forums here?
We are here to get our voices heard about the FPS on console because of how we were lied to and not getting any true answers for almost 2 years and here is mandy, coming to make us quite.
Like how do you just ghostly delete 19 comments, then give the warning without even mentioning that you deleted 19 comments beforehand and then close a thread just because ONE more guy did it? And mandy clearly saw how the whole console community were almost done or is done with BHVR because of how they handle with their game on console for the past two years now. That's why I warned mandy that, closing this thread would be the worst mistake, I didn't say "your not allowed to close this or this will happen".
But now looks what's happening. Everything was so civil until mandy decided to close the thread, so.....what's the point of being civil now?
Seems pretty coincidental that the post was abruptly closed the day before they open Q&A section. Almost like get rid of this before the people that dont frequent the forums see.

All of these are perfect examples.
A thread a week or 2 ago had a user that suggestion to go in the screen settings on ps4 and change the resolution from auto or 1080 to 720. I was able to do that it should improvement on my son's ps4 slim and on my PS4 Pro. I also own this game regrettably on xbox and have not looked for something similar. Hopefully if some in this thread were not aware this work around this will help.
I still get frame drops but not as severe WE still need optimization on the console's we currently have not the next generation that is absolutely unacceptable and unforgivable.
I have owned this game since launch on PS4 and have seen the peaks and valley's from various patches.
I have not purchased any cosmetics or dlc's for a year now and i do not plan too. The last thing i bought was a $10 auric cell pack for the first rift after i hit tier 70 and i have used that same money to continue to purchase each new tome after i hit tier 70.
I refuse to continue to fund a product that is inferior and a team of developers that i no longer have faith in.
I'm very concerned they will just expect people to lower settings for band aid fix until they buy a next gen rather than fix the issues so people can play on normal settings on current consoles. Their "we will continue to update current consoles" is very vague, it could just mean they will only be adding in new dlc/graphic updates but not bother optimizing. Myself, boyfriend, brother, and nephew are all no longer buying anything from DBD until the fix the FPS issues on current consoles. There's no point putting money towards a game that isn't giving attention to the platform we play on.

The devs know that. They themselves mentioned this on a dev stream ages ago (I believe it was somewhen in 2019).
And yes, sadly enough, despite them being aware, nothing has changed.
That's pretty annoying that the devs acknowledged that issue and have yet to do anything to fix it.

Basically all this. Adding on:
- Whenever hag's trap placement detection changes status (placeable vs non-placeable)
- Whenever Demo's portal placement detection changes status (placeable vs non-placeable)
- Whenever Ghostface initiates his stealth power for the first time
- The chest thing happens upon every chest opened, regardless of distance (so, whenever the item spawns). I've used this to find people in the basement multiple times in the past. Kinda funny.
The main thing I'd like to point out is that Midwich was A-okay on release. And then the mid-chapter came in and made it almost as bad as Lery's. It was pretty disappointing being optimistic about future maps being optimized properly and then having all that go to waste the next major patch after.
I came to add Ghostface entering stealth to my list to see you already added it.
I've also had frames drop when Doctor uses shock blast across the map from me.

Combine Lery’s with Doc and you get only 5 FPS. Lery’s performing so badly probably means that it should be disabled temporarily (15 FPS normally, 5 with Doc).
You would think the two having been reworked together would play well together instead of worse. 😂

We humble consolers pray for our frames, the frames of our friends and family, the frames of our neighbors, and most especially the frames of our brother and sister Switchers.
We humble consolers ferverantly wish the mighty devs hear our prayers, and love our platforms as they love their child, DBD.
I really love this prayer.

Nothing announced yet. But the devs did gather some feedback on a past survey they did in which they asked if players liked the struggle phase of the Piramid Head cages which is based on skill checks compared to tapping. 👍️
Some people also go around it by changing the keybindings and binding it on mouse wheel. Try it, maybe it can help you out. 🙂
Problem is console FPS drops cause survivors to miss skill checks so not a great fix for console crowd.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1589310#Comment_1589310
That won't happen because they won't risk giving that sort of answer and losing a lot of players. No company would do that, to be honest. The suits would never allow it until (or if) their console player base on the next gen consoles out-numbers current gen DbD players.
I know they won't actually because money. It would just be nice to get a straight forward answer if they won't fix fps.

Damn.
I asked this cause i remember there was an issue of Wraith using it or "Blind Warrior" - White, and that got fixed.
But so there's a general problem with SB and other stuff.
Yeah, on the original post that was closed many of the issues were listed out with specifics. Like with killers if you wear a Blight cosmetic frames drop so it's worrisome having a killer come in with standard cosmetic being a Blight cosmetic.
We just want a straightforward response of "we are working on a fix for current console FPS, we plan to release around x date" or "we don't plan to fix current console FPS issues because we are focusing on next gen." Instead we get vague "it's being looked at" or "current console will still be updated" that doesn't really confirm that they will ever fix the FPS issues.

So, with a pandemic still going on, and at least here in the U.S. (the largest gaming market alongside China) with unemployment claims rising yet again, they are banking on the player base having the disposable income for the new consoles? At the same time many are struggling to pay rent/mortgage, food, and other bills? And at Xmas time with likely children and loved ones to get something for on limited funds?
Talk about a disconnect from reality.
But the base game will be free if you already own it!

No, it means that the bumps were a small part of a very long thread asking a serious question that still has no real answer.
If the relatively few bumps were a problem they could have said so from Page 7 or 14, not issued one warning 30-ish Pages in and then closed it after the first bump after that.
Bumps aren't cool, but it wasn't a problem with the mods at first, and, IMO, it didn't take away from the 30+ pages of questions, complaints, and video proof of console issues.
This.
We are STILL waiting for a response on if they are going to put ANY effort into fixing the FPS issues we have listed. They were listed on that post that was "passed on to the team." All we have wanted is an actual answer to if they will be fixed on current consoles. Saying they will continue to update current console is extremely vague, like the "we're looking into it" responses we've received. Updates can be a variety of things not related to fixing fps. Just a straightforward answer of "yes, we are fixing fps for current console players and expect a fix in x time" or "no, we will not be fixing fps for current console since we are focusing on next gen."

Who needs all that when you can spend $500+ to play this game with better fps instead of having them fix the issues on the console everyone already owns? I mean, it's not like lack of funds is why console doesn't just buy a PC to play it with better fps.
You think the PS5 will sound like a jet engine when loading in the game? 🤔

From Twitter. Continue to be updated doesn't necessarily mean fixing fps on ps4/Xbox one/switch, probably just the regular patches. Be nice if they would say if they are going to bother with optimization for those consoles or not because next gen.
