These dont nerf spirit posts are about the same to each other just as the nerf spirit ones are. Also as someone who has tried the three counterplay options you give and they still usually result in failure because the player knows they are counter options. A few of the times doing the slow vault again guess what they did they waited on the side i vaulted from and i got downed, the walking thing is nothing, come out of phase and see where they're walking and hit them thats not counterplay in a lot of places on maps unless you're near a pallet or window to get actual distance or are healthy with the nancy perk. Also back tracking has just made me run back into her giving her the collison to know what im doing most times. These are hardly counterplay and running spine chill is ONLY useful against her with the other stealth killers you just keep looking around and you'll usually see them before they get close and they arent that hard to really play around. So while Spine chill is good against her its a lot better and easier to bring perks that work for your general survival or that you have fun using rather than having to bring that perk because you might hate the spirit or just wanna not get cheesed.

You shouldn't be doing it for the whole match, mix it up between doing it and idk, fast vaulting and then walking to another direction.
the walking thing is nothing, come out of phase and see where they're walking and hit them thats not counterplay in a lot of places on maps unless you're near a pallet or window to get actual distance
Thats not how it works. If you're walking and the killer is phasing she can't see your scratch marks, so avoid grass and walk into a wall or something, when the spirit comes out of phasing shell spend some time looking around for you and then is when you run.
Also back tracking has just made me run back into her giving her the collison to know what im doing most times.
Bruh. dont back track in a straight line lol, move to one side and then backtrack
So while Spine chill is good against her its a lot better and easier to bring perks that work for your general survival or that you have fun using rather than having to bring that perk because you might hate the spirit or just wanna not get cheesed.
Im sorry to tell you that killers have to adapt their whole perks sometimes just because of what type of survivors they're playing against. Im sure just changing one perk won't kill you
-
Yeah, imagine a survivor that could burst into a sprint and apply deep wound on you... Or one that could throw bottles to slow you down... ON EVERY LOOP! My god, @devs please fix this asap!!!!11
This is the weakest argument (aside from her being UnFuN tO FaCe) I've read against the spirit "shes op because if survivors could do the same you wouldnt like it" thats like saying empathy is OP because if killers had it they could always see injured people lol.
I'm on purple ranks as a survivor and faced her many times... I don't crave to play against her but shes not impossible to mindgame as some baby survivors say; run spine chill like I do (helps with literally every killer in the game) and you'll know when shes phasing. Then its all up to your skill against hers.

I have beaten SWF with Clown. It is possible with any killer as long as they make mistakes and you play to your perks.
Maps obviously factor in, but I really am tired of people saying only 1 or 2 killers are "viable" when all are capable of achieving victory.
We are not supposed to win every match, and none of the killer cast is capable of that.
@VexTheHex said:
If were Killers were strong enough to constantly 4K the most skilled and coordinated SWF groups the world has to offer.... this game would quickly die as the other 99% of the community would never survive a match.
I am aware of "you're not supposed to win every match!!" but a coordinated SWF will win 9 out of 10 matches, specially if they de rank on purpose
-
Ye lets make SWF stronger!!!!
-
You can still see ranks, but it has been bugged since day one the feature was added, sometimes I would go to the inventory and then I wouldnt see ranks anymore
-
BHVR would be surprised if they knew that people only play spirit and nurse at red ranks is because those are the only killers that stand a chance. If they buffed weaker killers there would be a higher variety and the game would be more fun for everyone. But hey, lets nerf this killer who people is using because is the only one capable of doing well against a BM SWF

I didn't say it changes nothing, I said she is still at the same tier pretty much
It exists to prevent spamming of both blinks alot
No, the fatigue exists to prevent spamming, the cooldown shouldnt
-
Power 1 is basically the legion, 25% more speed (which I think a running werewolf should be faster) and if hes not able to hit that means he has to cancel the power, go through a cooldown, and then start the chase normally; legion v2.
Power 2 seems more interesting, i think it would be cool if with m2 you can howl and then seeing the scent from survivors. And perhaps a secondary ability to help him with chases.

I think map offerings should provide a bp bonus to the other side. If I'm a killer and I have to humor you and play your map, I should get a bp boost. Same if the killer plays a map offering.
Haddonfield and Ormund are too terrible maps if survivors pair up with balanced.
I personally don't hate Haddonfield that much, the problem is when survivors use offerings to go there. And they do because they know how broken the map is with BL. However, if noone used an offering I don't mind that much because they don't abuse the map
Disable the map until it gets reworked or remove the offering, im fine with both.

This thread shows that the only thing that connects survivor and killer mains together is the devs messing up as always. What a beautiful community

No. Because you can't force someone to play against something they don't like. The unreasonable things that make most people DC in the first place (overpowered killers, one hit down addons etc) need to be addressed and fixed first to drastically reduce DCs.
Even if you ignore all them and double down on DC punishments (Which you cant even accurately calculate every secnario anyway) people will just find aw ay around it, they'll refuse to play, Suicide on hook and ruin the game anyway and no, you cant punish suiciding on first hook because you cant judge if people are struggling on hook to get the 3% or not, nor is that a reasonable solution to punish people for.
If you want peopel to stop DCing, stop doing things that make people DC in the first place. You cant do anything about "first down" DCers.
"The unreasonable things that make most people DC in the first place (overpowered killers, one hit down addons etc) need to be addressed and fixed first to drastically reduce DCs."

But isnt all you said what makes playing against him fun? It makes him different from every other killer, keeping you busy at all times.

They have killed:
Medkit
Flashlight
Toolbox
So of course a killer main would want the last item survivor has to be nerfed as well, right?
Sorry? The medkit update is a buff to medkits from what I've read, only the pink insta got nerfed.
Flashlights are on a perfect spot and toolboxes are still strong, i dont know what you're talking about.
Maybe for you the nerf of an OP addon is "killing the item" but that cant be further away from truth

If animation is added to unlock the hatch, then ALL keys should open the hatch and yellow and brown keys should be added to the bloodweb.
Sounds good, lets add a brown mori and make them all able to kill survivors after one hook then
-
I had a game as spirit where one died and the other 3 were death on hook, and every chase I started was a down in less than 15s.
1 gen left on the mother dwelling's map, one on the main building, another nearby and the other on a corner. I knew I had won because they were all dead on hook.
So, one gen left, someone hooked in the basement from the main building; an ace came to the rescue and when I saw both of them coming from the stairs I went from the rescuer, hit him; and both ran to the hatch where the third person was waiting with a key. They made sure to tbag as a goodbye on their way out. Needless to say, the post game chat was as salty as the sea from their end.
For me, that game was won; I know that if it wasn't for just one item I would've got the 3 kills I deserved.
Still, that match enlightened me on how broken keys really are. And as I said on a previous comment, I know killers have OP stuff too (for me is just insta hatchets).

@MrsMaliciousX said:
Sooo Ya'll are bitching about people being able to leave..and you not getting the 4k?
Oh dear 3 people escaped through the hatch..Chances are they were probably gonna leave anyway..
The keys are fine..YOU as a KILLER arent DISCOURAGED to use moris but you can't just hook someone 1 time and still get a ######### ton of blood points.. You have to hook someone x amount of times then do the Mori to be able to get your blood points..but then again if you don't really care much about bloodpoints or pips but just tryin to end the game quick well there you go..With the new pipping system they did a bit a ago they made it so that the games had to last longer had to get so many hooks ect ect as killer..Not survivors fault that everyone bitched that the game was too easy to pip..
Secondly..LOL here we go with the KEYS ARE OP..well guess what sweetie..THERES A COUNTER TO ITEMS.. yeah I was mind blown as well..Its called Frankies Demise..Try it out sometime..When you M1 a survivor and they have an Item in their hand..it makes them drop it Gasps And I do it like this..Because of how killers have been in the passed about survivors saying anything..."Get Good" but I won't say that..Ill just actually tell you..theres a perk for it..THERE IS A COUNTER FOR EVERYTHING ...and if not everything then ALMOST everything..
They aren't gonna use Keys..They just "nerfed" insta heals..gotta give them some time there speed racer..LMFAO
This post really hurt you huh? Im sorry, but 3 people escaping at once with 2 gens left isn't fair.
And keys can't always be countered by Franklin's, because they spawn on chests.
And for mori's the killer has to hook people first, with the key you dont even need to do anything
-
@Mochan said:
So what is the problem with 4 people escaping through the hatch?
For that to happen all 5 gens have to be completed. The game's pretty much over by then, so what's the problem? (And the killer screwed up for that matter)
Have you even tried getting that achievement? It is freaking hard to do.
Keys are fine. They are nowhere near as OP and unfair as, say, an Ebony Mori. Keys are fair, especially after the EGC change.
You don't screw up by having 5 gens repaired.
I know it requires all gens to be repaired to have 4 mans escaping through the hatch, but what i think its not fair is that 3 people can escape before the last gen pops
-
@UltraBanana said:
You could....go over there and kill them?
It probably needs to be 30 seconds, 15 seconds you basically only get use out of it if they head-on you and even then if there is a pallet nearby maybe not.
You can't always go to the other side of the map in 15 seconds
-
I had this happen to me a couple times, it's not as distracting as you may think.
-
They knew they were going to do this, but if they announced it like that the first time it would've had a worse reception

You hook a survivor, and in less than 60 seconds you find a survivor and down him, hook him, find another one and it is the person with ds. I dont believe your games are like this, sorry
Yep, Im sorry to tell you that this happens to a lot of people. Try watching some red rank killer gameplays, or even better, play killer yourself.

As i said, they dont reward survivors who fail. If the killer is proxy camping, you dont fail to make a safe hook rescue, it is simply impossible, so borrowed allows you to waste the killers time. And decisive rarely activates on low ranks, it is so rare to have a killer who knows what he is doing tunnel you, but since that is very unfun for the person getting tunneled the perk is very used. None of these perks reward the survivor for failling, they help the survivor against some killer behaviours.
Saying that BT only activates if the killer is camping and that DS if the killer is tunneling is just being completely blinded to the game current state.
Most of the people running BT will rescue the person hooked right after you hook them
And the DS time is 60 seconds, you could've downed other survivors at that time and still get DS after finding again the DS user
-
downing someone with one shot. they're down to the gr. ruins the fun for a survivor big time, basically just a killers game at that point
Not all killers have instadowns, and those who do need to work for it.
cant recover on the ground without help. once you're down thats it. if someone else is down too you're finished,
There are perks for that, recovering for yourself all the time would be really overpowered. Sometimes as a killer you have to leave people on the ground.
killer using offerings that overrides survivor offerings. for example my cat tingling sense offering is over ridden all the time and the killer is just there with no warning, if they have an offering that overrides it then its useless to a survivor
I don't remember, but I'm sure that when killer and survivors uses offerings that override themselves both offerings aren't burned. Which means they're not used on that game.
warning music starts waayyy too late now.
Terror radius? Some killer's TR are bigger than others. You can run perks to help you see if the killer is near you.
Killers terror radius is 32 or 24 meters (excluding EW1 Myers). And some others can nullify their TR completely, you just have to be careful.
using weapons to kill not hooks. in my opinion this shouldn't be a part of the game, ruins the fun completely and destroys what the game is about , how can you survive if they just kill you on the spot giving no opportunity to be rescued?
Moris. That's how they work. They will probably get changed soon.
Being able to see exactly where someone is on the map . ive had a killer put a survivor on a hook not even close to me and ive been in the basement already in a cupboard yet he comes all the way to the basement and to the exact cupboard, no offering should give a player that much advantage
Survivors also have aura reading perks and can hide theirs by going into a locker, behind of a gen, etc.
-
@WickedKatz said:
Your post is further from the truth. NOED does reward bad players, since the main objective is to do gens and prevent gens. The survivors dont have to check all map for totems, noed activating doesnt mean bad survivor plays, it means the survivors were focused on doing gens. If you compared noed and adrenaline, which is the most common killer main thing to say, Noed activates if you dont do the Gatekeeper objective as killer, and Adrenaline activates if you do all of your objectives of the Lightbringer category. This means that noed is a noob perk, and it rewards players who cannot prevent gen completion
So, getting to the end game as a killer is being bad? Thanks to noed survivors have a secondary objective: cleanse the totems. And you also get points for doing it, so if you don't cleanse bones you're not doing one of the objectives (that is also on one of the BP categories)

One of the devs was having a bad day and after booting dbd lost against a rank 1 nurse

Other thing they could add is another customization slot for every killer power, maybe unlockable at prestige 4?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1fkX3H84SE
This new thing is nothing.
I was aware of that while making this post, but, as I said in another comment; it's not the same.
Players were more "ignorant" about how broken those mechanics were, and got them fixed with time.
For example, having an infinite now is more impactful than having 10 on the early Dead by Daylight days, and nerfing The Nurse now has more impact than doing it on the early days.
-
Yes, no more OoO screwing up stealth killers
-
@Elegant said:
Good. This is exactly what should happen. You literally just said that "if they go through with the nurse nerfs, then people are going to go and play the other really op killer. Then, the devs will nerf the other op killer! If they don't, people are just going to run builds to counter the other op killer! Then I won't be able to rely on op killers to win games!"
This is precisely what should happen. Both killers should receive adequate nerfs. Survivors are already going to take a hit when the unsafe palette changes are widespread. Op characters shouldn't exist purely for the reason of being used to beat good players who would otherwise be a challenge on more balanced characters. This is awful logic.
Spirit is not op, Nurse wasn't op, the addons were the problem. Both killers were stronger than normal, but that didnt mean you'll always lose against them. And if SWF wasn't "stronger than normal" people wouldn't find the need to play strong characters.
As a P3 Nurse myself, I often ran up to survivors who were extremely hard to catch because they were good with LoS breakers and stealth, but maybe getting good at that is harder than saying the Nurse and Spirit are OP&Broken.
And right now, there isn't a single killer capable to win against a fully coordinated and optimal SWF team.
If a Nurse was worse than you, she wouldn't be able to catch you, it was easy as that.
-
@Hellbent said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/743374#Comment_743374
The Nurse was an easy 4K machine yes she was "hurting" the game. She was designed to beat infinite which were removed. Her age is long gone, its time she came down form her high horse and didnt become so mindless
Omega and +3 blink nurses yeah, but not basekit.
And there are still god loops in the game, they're not infinites but very much time wasting, and considering how fast gens go...
There are a lot of things that should be changed in the game, and nurse isnt very high on the list
-
@Hellbent said:
######### lmao, you dont know dark days unless you played when the game came out. I joined a few months after and it was a shitshow with infinites, instablinds, instant moris, machine gun build pre pre nerf decisive, no fall lag for survivors, 20 second sprint burst, no exhaustion... these may be a bit "unbalanced" but that would be calling the flu the new bulbous plague
Its different, the game started like that and everyone was used to it, at least at first.
Now, that the game has been "stable" (for the most part) for some time they come up with a nurse nerf that no one asked for and wasnt necessary (just her addons) instead of changing things that are actually hurting the game, because the nurse wasn't.
-
What I meant with this post is this nurse change does not only affects the nurse but probably the entre rooster, see it like this:
Nurse is less viable now, it used to be strong and now is weaker (how much weaker still to be discovered). This means people will start to play Spirit, this damages both sides because as a survivor you'll see mire Spirits that anything else.
If survivors see more spirits, they'll start using the anti spirit build which makes The Spirit harder to play than a new player trying the nurse for their first time.
This could also lead in a way to other killer buffs, but lets be honest, we wont have another killer strong as the spirit (and goodbye nurse tier).
IMO they should've instead buff other killers, but thats too much work
-
Yes, if you stay close to the fence they can hit you

There's probably 2 things I would change with Spirit's base.
- Make the phase audio louder (loud enough to not hear footsteps but still hear injured survivors)
- Give survivors a 'tell' that she is using her power (like an animation or something)
One of these would probably make her less frustrating for survivor players.
The point of the spirit is not knowing when shes phasing

Everytime we were on a pallet and I heared her phasing I instantly moved walking, she never got one hit.

I can tell you're a killer main. Giving almost complete map control to the killer is unfair, but on the other side it's just going to make SWF play alot more just to choose a specific map. It should just stay the way it is with maps and add on. It's a game.
Yes, I'm a killer main but that has nothing to do with what I said.
The reason I suggested the killer have yellow map offerings and survivors brown, is because survivors are 4 and the killer is just one. If survivors wanted to, they could still go to the map they want, but they would need to use more than one offering for that, and even then wouldn't be 100% they were going there like before.
The killer, being just one, gets the yellow addon, and just like the survivors it doesnt gets to choose the map the match plays, just a slight amount of chance.

Map offerings in general should go not just for survivor
I had a post or a comment about that I dont remember, but basically what I was suggesting was to eliminate green map offerings completely and make killers use yellows and Brown map offerings while making survivors only able to use Brown ones. This way no one has a complete choice on where to play.
-
Thats the whole point of the addon, its like saying they should take off the insta heal out of the insta heal.

Ignoring opportunity costs for a second. Instant heals consume the entire medkit, meaning that you lose any additional heals you could have possibly gotten through them, and BNP's require you to stay on the generator even if the Killer comes for 5 seconds, making it much harder to run away during that time.
The brand new part "install" takes 5 seconds, if a survivor is dumb enough to do it while the killer is nearby they deserve to lose it.
And InstaHeals are used on brown medkits anyway, you're not missing much.

Going against omega blink, ebony mori, noed nurse is such a relaxing experience right?
It's one of the very few intense things as a survivor, that doesnt mean is stressful.
And saying that there are things as a survivor more stressful than for killers is simply not correct. The thing is, survivor gameplay is so easy that the very few times you are against a challenge is confused as broken.
I would like you to compare a match where you play against omega blink nurse vs one you play as killer against a 4 swf team with instaheals and meta perks. Let's see what is more stressful.
-
@Mochan said:
Punishing DCs solves nothing.
Survivors will kill themselves, go AFK, run up to you to die, suicide on hook, etc. if they don't want to play.
Killers like to pretend that they are the "weak role" in this game and that Survivors hold all the power. That's non-sense. There is a direct correlation between power and helplessness and the DC epidemic.
It's hilarious how killers easily notice and point out how often Survivors DC, then complain how Survivors are the Power Role.
Does not compute, sorry.
"There are a lot of broken and bad mechanics in this game that result in incredibly stressful experiences for survivors. Far more stressful than anything a killer has to put up with"
Almost got me with that one. Is it my turn to tell jokes now?
