Same can be said about you and the endless nerf NOED/X,Y,Z killers,Nerf camping/tunneling and so on.
Not trying to do us vs them but you shouldn't be throwing stones in a glass house.
I never said nerf noed or nerf camping/tunneling although the three killers you speak of are not.healthy and one of my problems with this game instead of trying to.understand my perspective you dont.

Yeah no a bunch of posts about whh swf needs to be removed or change you would.be lying if you didnt see em.

Are you OK? Survivors are f**King stupidly hard to hit with the devs lazy hitboxes and amazing realism. Oh let's spin in a circle and magically become immune to a knife impaling me in the spleen!
You have to be inexperienced if you are complaining about this take time and learn the game then see how you do.

@PlaysByShady said:
I remember, way back in the day, I once complained to a killer that literally face-camped me that it was poor game-play from him. His response was one that stuck with me: "punish it by doing gens".
I try to be a "fair" killer. I'm decent (Rank 1) with Spirit & Pyramid Head, but less so with other killers. And I like variety. I like to play Nurse, Doctor, Hag, etc, etc. Of course, the way the current match-making is set up is that (currently) I have to go against red ranks regardless of what killer I play, which means when I play any of the other killers, I'm at a severe disadvantage.
When you mix that with SWF depip squads with object and stretched rez, etc, who insist on gloating and hurling abuse at you in the end-game chat, it makes me wonder "why do I bother? I don't play the game to be made to feel bad."
I know many have gone through this, and often quit the game entirely. But my attitude switched.
No longer will I now be "fair", and give survivors a chance under the assumption that they'll be decent, etc. Now I'm gonna unleash the full power of any/every killer I play.
Yes, I'm gonna camp the hook. There's 3 other healthy survivors around, leave the gen and try to rescue if you can. The odds are in your favour. Severely in your favour. But it means you're not doing objectives, and I'm finding that more often than not, these SWF can't cope with this. They cannot reconcile having to choose between letting their team-mate die on hook for the sake of the gens, and not being given a free save. They get confused, and they make mistakes, which I capitalise on.
Sure, I still get the accusations of camping and tunnelling... but this time they're warranted (instead of being arbitrary excuses), and I don't care. They all died, I "win".
And when they call me a "noob", I point out that this "noob" just 4K'd them all... so what does that make them? Lol.
If you don't like the camping, punish it by doing gens.
And don't forget the totems too... I could be running NOED.
Gone are the days of Mr Nice/Fair Killer. SWF have had their run for too long, and I'm tired of being the punching bag. I'm fighting back, and I urge other killers to do the same.
SWF need to learn they don't control the rules of the game, they're not the power position, the killers are! We've been shamed into playing by their rules... since when do the lamb dictate to the lions how to hunt?
My strategy is to put pressure on you, SWF groups... let's see how you cope with that with all your t-bagging, clicking, etc. Doesn't look like it's working too well for you so far :D
I wont judge you for doing it but a really good swf will punish you I can tell you havent been against them and also enjoy staring at a hooked survivor instead of doing actual chases.

Yeah, right. At this point I play more survivor than killer, which I try to keep even but... Well, I'm finding survivor more fun atm. But I digress: I definitely do not get tunelled enough to justify running that combo, let alone get farmed that badly either. An entire minute of invulnerability is genuinely unjustifiable. DS? I get it, you don't want to get tunelled. UB? Sure, undo the killers snowball with a single mouse click. Both? Become literally unpunishable for an entire minute, 3 minutes a game, with the only counterplay being to eat the damn perks? That makes sense. Nothing unfair about that.
Look man happens to much for me I actually stopped using ds/ub for like a week but I got tunneled and put the perks back on. I rather not get punished because I try to run a more casual build but killers would tunnel hard if ds/ub werent in the game its evident enough If there is no obsession.

Why did you quote me instead of the guy I quoted?
But to answer your question, you need iron will to have a chance against a "decent" spirit who uses headphones.
The pin point positioning via sound is just... Too much for version her. That's why people hate playing against spirit, as there isn't much input a survivor player can do against that killer, as her overall kit is quite forgiving, that's why he said IW is quite required to have any chance against her... Then comes stridor.
I think it was on accident my bad. Also usually it's just run iron will that counters her but every spirit runs stridor.

Anyone running DS/UB and actually trying to defend it is worthless as a player, because the only reason to defend it is if you rely on it, and the only reason to rely on it is if you:
1) Suck
2) Are an arse
Soul Guard is a bit of a weird one. It's more like BT in the sense that people can abuse it, but it's not the main issue. The main issue is that it makes the already-weak Hex perks even less useful.
I run it because I get tunneled but uhh you so you I guess.

Well, if I remember, have the time and mood to record it myself, then sure. But its not hard to recreate. Just get a Sport Flashlight with Focus Lens and see the difference yourself. Blindness works on amount of light entering, which is why long range flashes take longer than close range flashes. Having simply a smaller location where light enters means a regular beam would take longer.
But again, if you dont wanna try it out yourself, and I have both the time and the mood to get one of my friends to do some DBD science again, dont forget it in the first place and dont forget to hit record. Sure. I'll give video proof.
But theoretically that is how blinds work, and why lightborn technically increases the time it takes to get blinded because less light is hitting the total target area, because its smaller.
Like I said your theory came out to be false remember this game isnt like real life the description of lightborn flat out says resistance to flashlights increased by 80%.

As if new players play optimized to get the maximum amount of blood points instead of being crouched and immersed everywhere. Self Care (which is free to access from the get-go without even spending shards) or WGLF (which again is free to access and the best BP perk survivors have access to right from the get-go, unlike BBQ which is locked behind a pay wall), or Deliverance, (free to access with shards), or medkits and flash lights, which even a new player will amass a collection of. Meanwhile, killers must practically absolutely use add-ons, at least 6,000 BP of add-ons (usually more) to be competitive, unlike survivors who are competitive without any items or add-ons at all, and again, must level 20+ characters to max to be fully optimized while survivors do not.
Only change I have been against recently was the add-on changes against survivor where they don't keep their add-ons after a trial even if they survive. Not only does it make it more worth it to die with a white ward equipped than actually escaping, there's just literally no point to it. It serves no one and just makes the grinding worse.
You keep touting I'm a biased killer main as a strawman. I told you multiple times, I am not a killer main and I assume you are only making this strawman because you lack any actual argument of note:

So you atent even versed well in the killer side wow. Sure I agree some killers may need addons but not all. Its all about getting good at them, who are you to say whether or not killer needs addons when you dont even have much experience and havent played enough to reach rank 1.
Sure you can say I made a strawman but as a survivor you should know you are at the mercy of the killer they can tunnel you out and you dont even break 10k bloodpoints or if you are camped annoying time for you team to do gens and you dont get alot of bp. That type of opinion is far to common among killer mains.
Sure survivors may not have to level up as many characters as killers but they get alot of bp even without bbq and chili averaging 25k plus every game. Survivors counterpart wglf while free is a waste of a slot honestly no secondary effect and also you have to go out of your way to get stacks.
Like I said if you have to use an item or a perk to get a points that's not good design that's like saying you need run bitter murmur to get deviousness points.
Once again I still dont see why an increase to points as survivor isnt good as it doesnt do anything negative to killers. What exactly is pushing you away from this idea?

I wasnt talking about blindspeed. Lightborn doesnt slow down the speed of the blind, it has a smaller space you can blind. So if you aim next to that space, the blind goes much slower.
Aka, if you know exactly where that spot is and aim right for it with a narrow beam, you have the exact same blinding speed as if the killer were not using Lightborn.
Uh no it doesnt if you can show me video proof then yes.

I’m a Spirit main as well, I have been ever since her release almost two years ago.
There is no clear cut “counter” to Spirit other than predicting where she is going to phase and not moving in a predictable pattern. Most killers “counters” are either basic looping or dropping pallets early (Freddy, Clown, Doc). Spirit is different where you're basically just predicting on where she’s going to phase and listening for her footsteps. Is it a guessing game? Yes. But that’s just how she is designed. If survivors knew the Spirit’s exact location while she was phasing then she’d be terrible.
My point is that survivors are STILL quieter than normal especially someone like Ace and you can still disorient and confuse the Spirit. It’s not impossible run a Spirit if you know what you’re doing and don’t make predictable movements. Of course you’ll eventually go down but that’s supposed to happen, it’s just more unsatisfying to go down to a Spirit because you can’t physically see her location.
You can still do things to disorient the Spirit in a chase and confuse her. She’s a strong chase ending killer. Of course a GOOD Spirit is going to end chases quicker than a Bubba.
A stridor spirit claiming spirit to be balanced. If you werent on ps4 I'd ask you to hop in a kyf with my friend who's a spirit main and run him.

As a matter of fact, Iron Will needs to be slightly nerfed (it is a meta for a reason).
On the other hand, Spirit needs massive nerf to either tracking mid chase or overall movement. So she either becomes a great assassin but subpar tracker (like Nurse), or she is average at tracking and good at chases if killer is good predicting.
How would you need iron will? That doesnt even make sense.
-
@Sir_Bassington said:
To be fair, you have to be a very skilled killer to play Spirit. The timing on her phase attack is extremely subtle, without a solid grasp on your mouse to use it, which the typical killer simply is unable to do, you're going to 0k. There's also Spirit's mindgames that you have to take into account, do you use your phase at a pallet to hit the person on the other side, or do you simply do nothing and wait for the survivor to do it on their own? The best Spirit mains understand this stuff.
Stand still see what they so if they leave phase towards them.

I know, but this is one of the reasons why people prefer Spirit, as she is the only one that can deal with those teams
And no she is not broken. Just because you can't loop her for 5 gens, it doesn't mean that she has no counterplay
@Rin_is_my_waifu said:
Genrushing swf teams with second chance perks have no counter. Change my mind
Buts that's the counter to the boring trio spirits, deathslinger, PH. That's what people say to do split up get the gens done. They need to rework those three give em counterplay then add the statt game collapse.
Also the spirit bias is big. It's not even the fact we want to.run the killer for 5 gens. You cant run a good nurse for 5 gens you can definitely counter her. Mixing in pallets loops and jukes can outplay her.
In spirits case she is a broken braindead killer that requires barely any time to learn her and having a good headset. If you have stridor she definitely has no counterplay and for you to deny that it makes it obvious that you dont play survivor, and probably never went against a good spirit if I can even say that with how little skill she takes.
It's honestly mind boggling how the devs let her into dbd oh yeah I forgot the devs have been ignoring the survivor side when creating killers and its evident through spirit, slinger and Ph.

"You don't have an opinion that agrees with mine, you must be a killer main if you think that way!"
Or, maybe I just have a different opinion than you and don't agree that an easier role that shares points with three other people, should get rewarded just as well as the much more difficult role.
Also, you say survivor BP is hard to earn, and yet mark off literally numerous methods of which to obtain survivor category BP as "they don't count". Why don't they count? Deliverance, DS, Self Care, Medkits, Flashlights and such all provide survivor category BP when used, do they not? So clearly they are a method of earning BP in the survivor emblem, and should count.
So let me get this straight this will have jo effect on core gameplay other than increased points and yet you still dont want it.
Also like I said those are perks, and items. A new player wont have access to these and some of them are DLC, and another thing is one of them Is licensed so you cant even earn it. Killers dont need to bring in specific perks, or addons to earn all their scoring methods why do survivors need to?
Your killer bias is showing you really must be a killer main.

Probably because you could pick a killer whose power fits the items brought. If they bring a lot of medkits, I could bring Plague or Legion. If they bring toolboxes, I might bring Trapper or Freddy. Especially if I haven't unlocked a lot of perks for specific killers.
If I go in as Deathslinger, for instance, and see a sweaty SWF, I can't just swap out to my silent Wraith. I have to leave the lobby. The way they want it, it feels like the devs are trying to push the 'casual' aspect they think this game is.
If you see a sweaty swf why not challenge yourself and try to beat them with the killer you are using? Is that really hard for you i find alot of killer mains feel entitled to 4ks and any effort is unbalanced.
-
@Dead_by_Gadfly said:
I think its strange people are upset by this. The only thing thats changing is you have to pick your killer prior to searching for a match. It seems like you can still change perks.
My only recommendation to tge devs is to lock items for survivors while theyre at it, maybe 30 secs before match starts.
Why lock items the whole reason for last minute switching is to counter stuff like franklins. Killers see one flashlight and boom Franklin.
Also on top of that is the survivors have heavily polluted blood webs so getting items is a big deal and on top if that we get a significantly LOWER amount of bp so we cant even level up a bloodweb after one game and on top of that we LOSE addons after escaping which is the dumbest thing I've ever seen and even killer mains ik agree that this change needs to be reverted.

Survivor BP is far from fine there isnt even a solid way to earn survival points other than escaping, wiggling, and struggling. I'm excluding perks like ds,deliverance, selfcare, and items like medkits because you shouldn't have to bring those to max out a category. Also the wglf is a joke compared to bbq and a waste of a perk slot. You must be a killer main if you think this way.

I will say that sole survivor's numbers are just a bit too high, in a vacuum they might be ok, but let's say you're running a vault build shall we. You could put it with resilience and spine chill and suddenly you're vaulting 30% faster when injured, which is absurd. Take that same build and turn it loose on gens and that's 24% faster even when not being looked at and not only that but you can't have your aura read. My suggestion would either be to do away with the loss of aura reading and make it more like 4/6/8%, or have the aura reading loss and make it more like a 3/4/5%.
Overwhelming presence honestly should not just flat out replace distressing with the 40% increase, 15-20% is probably fine. Also the item degradation I feel is unnecessary since you're already making them use it faster, the forever builds would love this perk with only the slowdown when in terror radius tbh
See I would agree with you on the vault speed if killers wouldnt stop hitting me after I take 8 steps.

What you said must proves how badly this forum is killer sided, pretending to main killer to reduce backlash. If you show any love or ask for any survivor qol you get attacked by killer mains and get a long lecture about how killers need more buffs which some do but that's besides the point.

Not really.
Most just want the locker "Tech" gone sense it has no counter play.
They want it to not work if you get grabbed out of unhooking another survivor. Which if they healed and your not a 1 shot killer has no counter play.
They'd want it to not work if the survivors are working on generators for the obvious reasons at this point.
So on and so forth.
However notice how none of these have anything to do with the anti tunnel part of the perk.
The perk isnt an anti tunnel perk its anti momentum if you get hit by ds you deserve it you know how the perk works.

You can also camp main buildings against PH and slinger, but overall yea if they're really good gen rushing is the only counter unless you can guess right.
My point exactly they dont have specific counter play just general which is genrushing and until they get actual counter play I say genrushing needs to stay this poor character design the devs have needs to stop it's only the older killers that have actual counter play.

So I was watching some Monto videos last night whilst I was in bed and I came across his Adept Legion one. I completely forgot that Legion used to be able to down with FF if you hit the survivor a third time before they mended. Why was this removed? Was it deemed OP?. To me, it didn’t seem like it was completely easy to pull off as you lost FF after hitting the same survivor twice.
Do you think this should be brought back or are you glad it’s been removed?
Legion needs a total power rework so unfun to verse, and a weak power at the same time.

Yeah, I can understand that as well, especially playing solo.
With good teammates you have a better chance of not being farmed and of someone taking hits if you are being tunneled.
What if there is no bt and wait that I frame you get. End game killers will camp/tunnel to get a kill so DS feels required.

A lot of scummy tactics have existed in this game for as long as it goes back.
Tunneling was acknowledged and a surge of anti-tunnel perks were created and some have already been here since the beginning.
Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Breakdown (regardless of it being an awful perk), Adrenaline and Iron will also function as anti-tunneling perks in desperate need, but we can leave iron will out due to it being probably the most useful overall perk in the game since it helps with many aspects.
Slugging also has it's counters, and a perk even introduced in the last patch.
Unbreakable, Soul Guard, Tenacity, and yes, flip-flop.....
The only effective Anti Gen-Rushing perks we have as of now with no retarded requirements are Pop Goes the weasel and Corrupt Intervention, Corrupt intervention is simple to understand, less gens early game = get a hook with 1 or no gens completed.
Pop, You're rewarded for hooking a person a 25% slowdown to ONE gen. It's actually great since 25% is 20 seconds which is a lot, it's to one gen only, sure. But the more hooks the more you get it. Simple and straight to the point.
Old ruin was passive and had great effect, instead of 3 gens being completed in 80 seconds of the game it would take 100 or 105 seconds, enough to push you off a couple of them or at least 1. Best case scenario survivors actively look for it early-game instead of doing gens.
Here are perks that some survivors might overestimate and mention as anti-genrushing below, but they really aren't...
Thrilling tremors: Blocks what's NOT being worked on, and if you play killer you know this is a tracking perk not a gen slowdown.
New Ruin: Punishes gens NOT being worked on, again if they work it they'll finish it.
"Thanatophobia": Probably the MOST overrated killer perk, assuming you're continiously injuring with it you'll be at 3/4 injured survivors, which is 12% slowdown. 12% slowdown to gen speed is Horrible, adding only 9 seconds, what can you do with 9 seconds? Hook a survivor?
Dying Light: Another overrated perk, and honestly dumb in design. Let's say you get to 7 stacks by deliberately ignoring the obsession, 21% slowdown.
But wait, this 21% slowdown does NOT apply to obsession, so you may think, ok let's just get rid of the obsession!!
Getting rid of the obsession de-activates the perk....
Ok screw it, let him be, I'll just find someone else. But by this dying light only applies to 2 PEOPLE, because you're chasing one of the 3 people it applies for. And the perks already gains its stacks by hooks if you're at 7 stacks by ignoring the obsession you MUST have killed someone by now. So it only applies to 1 person.
12-24% slowdown for 1 or 2 people, is it really worth it?
Surge: Only affects gens in 32m, but let's say you're in 32m, thats 6 extra seconds..... WOW
Dead man's switch: No possiblity for synergy with other perks since blocking gens causes ZERO regression, even if you have new ruin or if you damaged it, survivors must touch and let go after you hook so this only works if you have lots of mobility (Billy or nurse) OR you can intentionally make people let go (doctor or freddy). But these aren't the only 4 killers in the game are they?
Survivors will just get back to the gen after you finish downing the survivor near the gen and finish it while you pick him or her up, in the exact same time he would have if he didn't let go.
NOED: NOED doesn't really counter gen-rushing. But it punishes it. No killer should be forced to run this perk in fear of getting gen-rush matches, and I say this should be a base-kit perk because totems directly become an essential secondary objective
Point is, we need to make changes to counter gen rushing. Implementing more perks for the killers that focus mainly on gen speeds is not what I suggest since killers shouldn't have to rely on a perk (like old ruin), while you're on a cooldown bar spree go for gens too, 40 seconds cooldown between working on 1 gen to the other, you can heal in it, do totems, but just not gens.
My point is that if you get queued against half decent survivors, okay at looping, don't waste time, and know what their main objective is, you're in the shlt.
Gen rushing is the only counter to spirit, slinger, and PH

No that seems like you did awesome.
But if you are referring to DS, you lost another chase and now get rewarded for it.
Tunneling sux, but if this was the case, you probably got 3 out, which is a win
Honestly I can agree to what you are saying alot of bad survivors try to rush me with ds but do horribly so they have another 2 second chase. But the point I was going for is that the 3 gen run or a long chase in general is usually my situation I'm pretty good but some killers do not leave long chases and I'm forced to pay when i inevitably go down so I run ds.

Well, when you put it that way, no. Put anything in such simple terms and it won't sound fun.
Survivor you just hold M1 and run around some debris every once and a while. Does that sound fun?
I agree with you there the more simple the less fun like oh you run around a some hay with a wood piece between it.

As a Ghostface main at rank 1, you really shouldn't be complaining. You can literally bring Spine Chill and Sprint Burst which are two of his biggest counters and are also perks that can generally help against every killer. Not only that but you can counter him by just looking around being alert at all times and loop him normally since he's still an M1 killer. If you are stalked and aren't confident in your ability to loop, throw pallets down early and make distance.
Imagine complaining about Ghostface when Spirit, Nurse, Oni, Deathslinger ETC are in the game lol.
It's because his inconsistent break out and night shrouding during chase. When you stare directly at him and even have your character model look at him and he still exposes you there is something wrong. Also when they run double recovery and use nightshroud mid chase it requires zero skill and an easy way to hide your red stain.

I won't play either perk myself.
They are both strong perks that reward failure. And give you an unearned advantage.
Is failure running the killer for 3 gens then getting camped and tunneled?

Chasing a stretched res user is literally pointless and removes all mindgames. Why isn't this being fixed?
It gives killers built in lightborn so should I stop playing survivor?

Why are you so angry LMAO.
Stretched rez is cheating, its been proven and said many times even by tournament players. I only know 1 content creator who thinks it isn't and he pretty much only plays survivor now. :L
Just because you want something to suit your views doesn't make it not cheating.
That helps you in a chase how? Also you can see the legion regardless of stretch or not so it is not cheating.

Do you play much killer?
I play killer alot only rank 2 rn because havent played much but eh. Just because I prefer survivor doesnt meant I dont play killer. Also my opinion comes from my own experience.
Killers will slug a person with ds but come back because they just cant let the slug person stay slugged, or if there is no obsession they will tunnel off first hook.

I really think it's just new players being frustrated with the difficult learning curves of killer gameplay and using a killers power effectively. DBD is not a noob friendly game in the slightest.
Yes killer definitely has a huge learning curve but to completely ignore survivors problems because killer is hard to learn is unacceptable.
