then bodyblocking as a survivor will be a bannable offense too, deal?
that's stupid. I cant hit a killer to make them move. please dont act like that was a good comparison
-
they aren't breaking any rules, if they were they'd be banned for it. they also paid money for a game they can hopefully enjoy, what's the point in saying others paid money too? I don't see anything wrong with the current fog whisperers
-
it's not. it should be though imo
-
I see people stating things like "they ruined the fun of others" but what about their own fun? did you consider WHY that person dc'd? I bet if the broken aspects of this game were fixed (instasaw, omega blink, etc.) there'd be a lot fewer dc's. idk a single person who puts someone else's fun over their own, so I'm not sure why you people would expect them to
-
its a broken add-on combo that still exists for some reason. really fun to go against :)
not a lot you can do, sorry but we all suffer
-
######### square up bud
-
I'd love to share my opinion on dc's, but I think I'll get banned again :(

not a fan of any idea that involves moris being base kit

@thrawn3054 It's a competitive game. I'd say it's normal when a player wants to win.
it's a casual game, people just have a competitive drive for whatever they do that they are interested in

i think we found our new game mode

legion isn't viable though

@artist what's Battle Hag?
2 addons to place traps faster, a standard m1 killer build, and you basically just chase and only place traps whenever someone gets to a pallet. really bad way to play hag I know, but NO PALLET IS SAFE

The fact that they are rare (or mostly ultra rare, to be precise) and pricey does matter. They are not meant to "make the fight balanced". They are meant to spice up gameplay. We have add-ons that greatly change the way you approach a Killer so that both the Killer themselves and Survivors have to make use of different strategies to spice up gameplay.
For instance, Clown with Redhead's Pinky Finger turns into a Hillbilly. A Huntress with Iridescent Head means you cant afford to get hit by her hatchets. A Spirit with Prayer Beads means you have to pay attention to your surroundings or tapping instead of holding.
What am I trying to say? Add Ons are strategy changers. They are meant to greatly boost your chances, otherwise why would you use them? Coincidentally, I wonder why stuff like Tattooed Finger or Amanda's Secret are not used oftenly. They are the weaker ultra rares but for that reason they arent worth the BP of getting them. They still change the way you play, but people only use them for meme builds.
Their rarity and BP price isnt just a justification of how powerful they are, but its also an incentive to make them powerful. Sometimes it works, others it doesnt (like the ones I listed above).
The fact that its rare to come across it is a very much valid point. In the last six months, I have only seen two Huntresses with Iridescent Heads, and in one of the two I escaped just fine. Moris, I have not been hit by one (as in killed by it) more than ten times either. Within that time frame, I have played several matches everyday. I have seen more Clowns and Plagues than Prayer Bead Spirits.
all the addons I mentioned do not spice up anything. it does the exact opposite because they generate near unwinnable games (at least in solo play). prayer beads are just busted as you have no counterplay to knowing when a spirit is after you or not. I'm fine with taking a different strategy on approaching killers, but none of these are any different from the killer without addons, they just make the killer way too strong by enhancing their power, not changing it (an example of that would be bodyblock hag). its simply not true that they change the way we approach a killer. how do you play around instasaw or omega blink? i still disagree with rarity being a good reason for something being overpowered. like shad03 said earlier, just because you dont face something that often doesn't mean others dont too. what's sad is that some the addons I mentioned aren't even very-rare or higher, making them even more frequent. right now all I'm getting from your reasoning is "ultra-rare so it's ultra-fair" and imo that's not a very good arguement
-
every perk that increases bloodpoint gain in whatever category they're tied to should instead reward those points post trial, just like how wglf and bbq work. LETS GET THIS BREAD
-
@AshleyWB said:
Moris can only be used once without a mori offering. Whether you built it upto 2 moris or just 1.
This idea is about activating chases as much as possible and building up bloodlust in chase. When you are getting looped you are being fed bloodlust to then punish the survivors.
I said before about dropping chases rewards you, i meant it as in dropping chase will bank your bloodlust.
Pallet stuns decrease your bloodlust saved up by quite a lot making it NOT a helping hand for lesser skilled players. If the killer has earnt a mori, they can be pallet stunned to make them require more bloodlust to mori.
This works with other stuns too except blinds.
now I'm really against this. you're encouraging people to respect pallets, which will lead to longer chases, and punishing survivors for trying to evade the killer in a chase. this concept wouldn't be healthy for the game
-
the way you proposed it sounds like moris would be basekit, it also sounds like it rewards you for losing chases as u said "being in chase for a considerable amount of time and losing track of the survivor fills up the bar giving you progress towards attaining a mori." i dont really like the idea of that or a 5th perk basically being basekit, lastly the idea of having 0 killer interaction because the killer got his mori from chasing other survivors, then found you and had a 1 shot ready or something, then u get morid, sounds really boring and not something this game needs

I got an ebony mori in 15 out of the last 20 of my Spirit's bloodwebs, who is not prestiged. But they're "Ultra rare" and cost 7k bp, so that's fine.
thats what I'm saying lol. even if they dont happen every game they're defenitely not balanced

Not making a statement of MoM's power but just to point out that its not a fair comparison to pit a Perk that can be brought for free into every match vs a add-on that one must buy with BP and get from a bloodweb with RNG that are 1 time use each.
I would say the same if you were comparing a survivor add-on/item vs a killer Perk too.
ok a lot of people believe rarity/cost of something makes it balanced. I don't understand that mindset and never will.

@GraviteaUK said:

Yes lets compare addons and offerings that are ultra-rare and one use vs a perk you have for the lifetime of the game that also stacks with other second chance perks of similar effects.
That is a totally fair equivalency.
I'm not comparing them. I listed overpowered addons/offerings that should receive changing sooner because they're unfair, and have existed for too long. and like I said multiple times before, rarity/cost of something isn't good justification for something being op. it's a player vs players game, not a player(s) vs bots game where it's okay for things to be incredibly strong
-

You forgot NOED, BBQ and ruin. All killers use those crutches
I think you're being sarcastic, but notice how I didnt mention any killer perks. the strength/annoyance that comes from perks are based on what killer is using what perk.
-
@ReikoMori said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/55748/before-we-nerf-mettle-of-man
iri heads are only for one game, moris are only for one game, tuft of hair is only for one game and cause more myers player to lose rather than win since it requires another addon to even be able to stalk effectively enough to get it off. spirit's purple only last for one game, extra blinks doesn't translate into anything if you can't control nurse properly, omega blink lasts for one game is just one blink which requires even more precision. Legion is getting a rework, but even now he's not doing anything that other killers can't accept vaulting like a survivor.
Survivors have adrenaline, MoM, DS, Instaheals which in this discussion I'll give a pass is like killer addons it only works on game. Unbreakable, No Mither, Borrowed Time. The majority of your second chances are just perks that you have from start to finish. Killers don't have a great deal of things that really work like that. Also you need to remember we don't share addons between killers and killers lose something to gain power while survivors only gain chances with no drawbacks with the exception of no mither. Mori is the only shared thing in offerings and the only ones worth using are Ebony and Ivory which don't show up in bloodwebs a ton. NoED is riddled with problems, Devour Hope requires stacking five UNHOOKS to get mori status and 3 for exposed condition. We have Rancor which lets you kill your obsession at the end of the game.
in my post I said not to bring up them being rare/costly because that means nothing towards balance in a game like dbd. even if it's for one game (which it's not, it's for how many games as you have those addons) that doesn't change the fact they're overpowered, and unfair to go against. I also completely missed the point of your response if you could tell me what it was. you just listed things that are in the game. I never mentioned anything about killer perks either, I'm fine with all of them in almost all situations and killers "losing" something to gain power doesn't apply to the addons i listed (except for iri head, (but u have infantry belt) and infinite t3) and I think the drawback to the survivor perks you mentioned is how situational they are, you can go through games down an entire perk. not saying they arent really strong though because they defenitely are

Stop this madness.
Buff killers to a viable level, to EVEN THINK about nerfing ANYTHING OF THEM.
might just be the way I see it but I think fixing addons/offering would be a lot faster than buffing every non-billy tier killer. I said something related to this earlier

realistically, every killer will never be billy tier, at least not for a very long time. most of the things you mentioned would change the game altogether, and would need a lot of thought process/time/variables factored in. im definitely with you on instaheals though.

Well that’s the thing too. I don’t want to play Nurse (I’m also on console so rip) or Billy or Leatherface or Spirit. I don’t like how they feel and I greatly prefer Freddy, Doc, Michael, Hag, and Wraith (although only because I get his challenges a lot.)
Killers of all types should also not need good add ons just to compete with the decked out survivors.
I feel your pain. I play pig, wraith, doc and hag. battle hag, stealth doc, or delete everything wraith is a lot of fun, but I can't always do that because of survivor builds. I also like to play survivor and try plunder, hide mid-chase, and heal builds just to get hit with a billy with his best addons. I shouldn't feel the need to deck out my build with 2nd chance after 2nd chance just in case I get players like those, but I do. what makes it worse is that those top tier killers that dont need those addons to compete still use them, making the game 10x harder (not to mention the already struggles of solo-play)

@artist Believe it or not I respect you (little as that may mean...) So please, do not say to remove anything that cost actual money/or time. Yeah, that thing survivors complain they lack when choosing to play a game.
I don't wanna get too into that, I'm not here for an argument, please, have a good day.
yeah, me saying to remove something is a bit of an overreaction, sorry. I just cant think of a reasonable fix for legion that'll leave him as a good killer that is fun to go against. I'll edit the post to say fix legion instead of delete. with any one else, I probably wouldn't, but you're too much of a kind and thoughtful person for me to not respect your wishes.

@Shad03 said:
Honestly as a person who plays a lot more killer then solo or swf, I... Don't mind MoM.
I generally agree with everything you said (for once) except the things you mentioned to nerf.
Be honest, how many people actually run the things you said? And if you say nearly all your games or the numbers are not important, you've successfully brought up the points that killer mains have been whining about for a while now. Maybe you may not get SWF Squadettes for a majority of your matches, but many others do.
And as for deleting Legion, fine, sure they can do that.
You just have to pay back everyone who spent shards or money on them =)
Hope you have a sizable bank account.
I'm broke. maybe we can reach some sort of agreement lol.

@artist what about spirit tier?
same thing. making a change to that many killers requires a lot of time and everything in the game needs to be factored in
-
they're not necessarily designed around it, but they definitely help with getting camped, tunneled, or facing an extremely hard game to win such as an omegablink ruin nurse. not a great feeling when you're trying to play some wholesome wraith and you get with 4 mettle of man's, but it's also extremely satisfying having that perk setup when facing off against purple addons spirit. that is just 1 of the problems with the game, strong ######### vs weak #########.

Decisive should be at 4 seconds without Enduring effecting it.
This would be a good change.
Enduring is already an pathetic excuse for the incredible strength of looping.
personally wouldn't mind enduring not affecting ds because I'll never get hit with it, but I can tell u a lot of other players would disagree. you should always pair enduring with spirit fury if you're on a killer that deals with loops, it's probably your best option

Kinda innocent that coment, but not in wrong way. Now imagine a Toxic survivor, makes the killer chase super long and other survivors complites 3-4 gens, and finally killer gets that toxic. And then he decides to disconnect, and bang Killer day ruined. That how this community works sadly.
maybe don't play killer if that's all it takes for your day to be ruined, especially if you like to chase people for that long.
-
I don't know a single person who would close their game just to not depip. they'd prefer to depip lol

I think a better change would be to make it so that it only 1 shots at a distance of 20 meters minimum, this way not every bot can just throw it on and win games

and Nurse isn't the same way? I feel like I'm not gonna win anytime against a Nurse and I don't see people auto-dc-ing against her. anyone dc-ing from any game just because of the killer choice is just ruining the game even further
yes, they both ignore game mechanics, but at least you have to be somewhat decent to get hits with nurse. I'd argue that legion is ruining the game far more than the people that dc from him
-
hell yeah! let's all abuse chase mechanics! you know this will happen if this were to be a thing right?

"Why mention Adrenaline?" Forgot to mention that I killed 2 of them after all gens were completed and It was thanks to my chainsaw, meaning that if had played any other character I would have ended up with a 2k or even 1k. Also Adrenaline helps Gen Rush, you spend those 30+ seconds doing gens instead of healing yourself and you'll get Adrenaline in no time.
"How did u even let it get to end game as a Ruin Billy?" I dont know man, maybe because Ruin depends on luck and not skill? It got destroyed at first 30 seconds of the match, just like in almost all of my games, + Im not facing potatoes here, Im facing competent survivors that know what they are doing...
"If they only healed once you should have been able to punish them more easily thanks to your mobility" You do know that they can just find a loop whenever they hear me coming from a mile away, right? It doesnt matter if I have mobility or not, they just go for the loop and start a chase. Also whenever they get unhooked they go do gens instead of spending 30+ seconds healing, that's almost half a gen done, meaning I have less time to end chases to regain map control...
Edit:
I edited the post to mention why I talked about Adrenaline
as I said, maybe it's different for console because I know billy players that can punish this type of team, and end the game before adrenaline even becomes a thing (hence why I said, "why mention adrenaline?"). there's no way every time they were on a gen while injured, they had a pallet they could beat you to, especially considering you have spirit fury so 1/3 times that MAY happen, you will still get them. also I say "as a ruin billy" because billy is strong enough to not need ruin to win games. but ONCE AGAIN, maybe it's different for console
-
why mention adrenaline? how did u even let it to get to end game as a ruin billy (not in favor of billy getting a nerf btw). also if they only healed once, you should've been able to punish them for it more easily because of your high mobility, so that's not something u should complain about. maybe its different because of console?

I fully agree with this, but I'm trying to find a realistic solution, because BHVR won't touch the objective system at all it seems.
this isn't even the slightest bit realistic tho.
-
"infiniting around the killer shack" yeah I'm not gonna bother with this one lol
-
a lot of these ideas sound pretty okay. devour keeping the 5% movement speed bonus would be broken.
-
you can manipulate medium vaults to become fast vaults if you press your space bar when the prompt "running vault" shows up on your screen. for example, you can fast vault through the ironworks window from the outside to the inside if you turn left when approaching it, run in a straight line towards it, and press space bar at the last second. a fast vault or a medium vault could be the difference between life and death
-
i dont care that WGLF doesn't actually help you play the game, the stacks should just be easier to get

Rarity for the bp offerings don't make sense to me. Why are other green offerings 100% in only one category while streamers are also green and 100% in all categories? I think the 100% in one category should be yellow and get rid on the current yellow and brown ones. Then increase the frequency you see the new yellows and streamers. Cause at this point with more characters and perks being added the grind is real, especially for new people.
another really good idea. we all just want more points :(
-
if everyone escapes and you happened to get more than 4k altruism, it'd be nice if I still got those extra points even if i passed the cap with no one left behind, i also just assumed up the ante would still affect all players. and I guess overwhelming can do what u suggested, hiding how many charges from the user would be kind of annoying tho.
