Is it bannable to block basement saves?

4 survivors reported me saying I am going to get banned for body blocking the basement entrance soo they couldn't get the hook save.

Everyone that was healthy was able to move and leave the killer shack, but they couldn't reach the hooked survivors

is it bannable?

  • @Thatbrownmonster, No. It was simply a form of camping, and camping is not bannable. The survivors might not have been able to make the save, but they could still go do generators and progress the match.

Now, had you body-blocked the stairs while they were in the basement so they couldn't get out, and refused to hit them, that would have been holding the game hostage, which is bannable.

But what you did was simply camp the basement hook.

  • it's not. it should be though imo

  • @Kilmeran

that was what I was thinking, one is camping and one is holding the game hostage

but apparently this streamer knew the rules and was gonna get me banned, him and his swf team

  • Nope, u blocked it so the person on the hook dies.

If u blocked it to troll or hold them hostage its bannable

if u blocked it to kill people its not bannable

@Thatbrownmonster, well, the streamer is being a man or woman child. You camped the basement hook. It's 100% completely allowed. They had the option to just go do gens and use the camping against you, same as any face-camping. They chose not to.

You won't be banned at all. The streamer can't get you banned. They don't work at Behavior. All they can do is file a report. Which will be deemed a false report and then trashed. No worries.

Behavior needs the Blizzard method in Overwatch. File enough false reports, and you get banned.

  • Yesterday we played against a spectrum that literally blocked the entrance of the basement, making it impossible for us to rescue our basement companion

I asked him why he did it and I just answered "Because I can." He literally did not come out of the basement

this pretty much explains it perfectly.

then bodyblocking as a survivor will be a bannable offense too, deal?

that's stupid. I cant hit a killer to make them move. please dont act like that was a good comparison

  • Nope. Somehow. Even though it prevents anyone from attempting an unhook. Much like pre 360 hooks face camping. Preventing intended gameplay by blocking someones access to a hooked survivor negating ANY attempt safe or otherwise.

    Is not bannable.

So I guess I'll try Bubba out again.

  • It should be bannable and you should ask yourself a question how many kills would you get if you couldn't cheat.

  • @ShirtlessDwight, Oh please. Any survivors worth their salt would have been gen-rushing the camping killer. The only issue here is that they were a 4-man SWF and were pissed that one of their buddies was about to be out of the match.

And for the record: I don't camp. The only exception to my rule about not camping is when a survivor is being blatantly toxic toward me. Then they're camped and out of the match. One toxic turn definitely deserves another.

or maybe they were pissed because they were denied even ATTEMPTING a save because the killer wouldn't move. this definitely wasnt intended to be a thing as 360 hooks being put into the game is proof of that, it's dumb how this was overlooked during that time

Actually body blocking is underneath "griefing", survivors can not make killers move, however, killers can make survivors move thus making killer basement blocking bannable.

But the killer isn't holding the match hostage. The survivors can still repair generators. It's basically just the same as camping.

Yes, it's a dick move but not bannable.
