Dc punishments need to come since ranks rewards are also coming soon

    What rank rewards?

  • Killer :Spirit by far has the best lore. I also like wraith's backstory. Worst is probably demogorgon.

Survivor: Feng min, kate and jane have good backstories imo. Worst is steve and nancy, they have just lazy backstories.

  • He is definitely in my top 5 list. BHVR really did a good job with the rework.

  • I went against a mint rag, make your choice hag recently. It wasn't fun lol

For real. From mentioning their plans, to implementing and finally releasing it is literally a 6 month process at least for them. This isn't even talking about a major rework, literally just numbers and small tweaks.

They could easily make trapper bag, windstorm and other addons for different killers base kit, or give small buffs in one patch, I really don't get why they don't do it. It wouldn't take long to implement at all and I don't think anyone won't like the changes.

It's why Monstrous Shrine has never seen a change whatsoever.

When something's OP, people will use it, it'll show off how OP it is enough times, meaning enough complaints about it will arrive and it'll be addressed.

What happens when something is UP, people won't use it...and that's it, there's no attention for it.

It's also safer to keep something UP than OP.

That said, it doesn't mean i like stuff being UP.

I mean, freddy was trash but now he is a great killer. They do change UP things but it takes a really long time usually.

  • I think they should give an extra 2% bloodpoint gain boost for each devotion or something.

No you don't. Sprint Burst is not only a chase tool, you may walk a little in the beginning, but you need to be running and doing things if someone is being chased.

Even walking at the beginning is annoying to me so I rarely use it. It was good combined with fixated though imo.

Also! There are plenty of crying on BOTH sides of the field here! Don't just be biased!

Yeah, both sides complain and whine equally. Most people still think that only survivors complain about everything on this forums though.

  • I'd say it's good but balanced landing and dead hard are just a lot better. Sprint burst also annoys me a lot because I have to walk everywhere.

  • @Nekoo said:

    Survivors just want easy win.

Right now spirit and billy are the only killers that can give survivors challenge,

but they still want to take that away

I'd say people playing spirit wants easy games too. I mostly play survivor but when I play spirit the games are just very very easy. It's almost a guaranteed 4k every match.

If survivors don't complain, then why don't killers also complain that much? This forum is still mostly filled with, gen times are too fast, keys op, survivors op, ds is op posts from killers.

Also, only spirit and billy giving survivors challange is a lie. I lose against all sorts of killers at rank 1. Stop pretending that it's impossible or something. Freddy, hag, huntress, billy, nurse, spirit and maybe even plague are perfectly viable. The others are still viable but you are going to have a hard time.

  • I am actually starting to like the servers, in most matches they work great from my experience. But there were still many times when the killer hit me from very far away (especially hatchet hits were absolutely ridicilous), it was even worse than the current system but these weren't that common.

  • In your example, those survivors dc'd because they are salty and can't handle dying.

People dislike spirit because they don't enjoy playing against her. You can't blame people for not enjoying something. They play this game to have fun. I'm not saying dc'ing is a good thing but I get why they do it. When I get like 3 or more spirits in a row, I don't want to play the game anymore and I usually quit playing for a while because I am simply not having fun.

Tbagging is only a tool to show the opponent one's disrespect. Camping is an unpopular strategy. Two completely different things.

If you think it's totally fine to show other people your disrespect via the internet, that's your thing. Emphasis on "the internet" since it's just a case of being "brave" while being anonymous; most of these guys wouldn't dare to show their disrespect to another person's face IRL.

You sound like you take teabagging way too seriously. It's been a thing for decades but only in DBD you'll see people constantly whining about teabagging.

It's not "disrespect" at all. It's just a game. It's a way of saying "haha I beat you". If you get offended by it, it is entirely your fault.

If you write "gg ez baby killer" and those sorts of messages in the chat then that's disrespectful.

I will gladly trade moris for the removal of SWF :)

Removal of swf would kill the game so, no thank you.

  • @Blueberry said:

I'm fine for mori nerfs, but ONLY once the game gets balanced for SWF.

They can't make the game balanced for swf though unless they buff solos to around swf levels. If they balance killers for swf then solos will suffer and since solos are the majority of players I don't see it happening.

  • My main problem is that every single cosmetic piece that can be bought with shards cost 7200 now and it takes ages to collect that many shards. Not to mention the best outfits are mostly auric cells exclusive now.

  • @Pirscher said:

Theres nothing wrong with moris. If they dont kill you with a mori, theyll kill you with devour hope.. Should we nerf that too?

Devour hope can easily be disabled. What is your point?

Hi! have you seen keys? Also, nice to see you again! It's weird that you say they take no skill when a Killer needs to hit you 3-4 times through loops, pallets and second chance perks! Let alone stealth!

I'm not arguing that they MIGHT be a tickle strong, but honestly claiming they take no skill is silly!

I mean, you shouldn't be able to make your game twice as easier with one offering. If moris require skill then keys also require skill since you have to do gens to be able to use it. They both need changing.

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

Hi! Moris will prolly not be removed cause ALOT of work goes into the animations! Sorry!

It shouldn't be removed but it needs to be changed because they make no sense balance wise. If insta heals were changed because they required no skill to use and they were too powerful, then moris need to be changed because the same thing applies to them too.

  • @Tucking_Friggered said:

Better idea. How about you guys get good and accept dangers exist within the game? Thankfully the lot of you have a snowballs chance in hell of getting DbD watered down to the point everything is dull gray boring and sterile of danger.

Life isn't fair. Deal with it.

Then lets not nerf insta heals since it makes the game "interesting".

How do you know I'm talking about survivors? As I remember I haven't use a single "survivor" word.

It is pretty obvious. Anyone with a brain can see that

  • @MrFlower said:

You know why they are whining. They whined countless times about several things, including Freddy, Legion and Nurse. Everybody knows what happend then. THEY know what powerful tool they have. Their numbers, their whines and screeches.

    And they use it, knowingly.

As to the "OP" Prayer Beads - I'm really curious why everybody bitches about it, but not about Iri Heads, which are worse, way worse, but still counterable.

Spirit is fine. She is addon dependant, which should not be a thing. I would buff her basics by increasing her MS while phase walking to the level of yellow addons, then rework "flat-buffing" addons to the point of changing the gameplay, not strictly buffing. Like making youvisible while phase walking,, but making survivors visible too, or something else. Something refreshing. Not... Not this. Flat buffs are gross and should not be a thing.

I love how you talk about survivors as "they" like they are your enemy or something.

If someone doesn't like something they have every right to complain. If you don't like that then its your problem

It's just one addon, just change it.

    And we're done with it.

Spirit is not OP, she's just a playable killer.

Legion was never OP, but only annoying.

    Franks mixtape says hi

  • @Bigbootiejudy666 said:

I don't know why everyone is bitching about spirit being "annoying". Like you bitches never complain about her before, why now?. Like the only thing that needs to be change about her is Anal Beads add on( which just needs to a ultra rare) So y'all need to stop whining about spirit and ######### about that NEEDS to bitched about

I always complained about her being annoying to go against. It wasn't that bad at release because people didn't know how to play her well enough yet.

People will always complain about what they don't like, if you think survivors shouldn't complain just because killers like playing as her, then you are very biased.

Making prayer beads ultra rare won't change anything. It needs a rework.

  • I mean, its been years so you shouldn't expect anything at this point

  • @thrawn3054 said:

While possible, I don't see why they would. How often do you see people complain about Billy? He's honestly pretty fair. I feel like he's the most balanced killer in the game. My only complaint is the saw hit boxes are a bit questionable.

Yeah, he is honestly balanced and fun to go against. Just tone down the insta chainsaw addons and he is absolutely fine

  • I think people are upset because they didn't change moris along with instaheals.

To put what I'm getting at in perspective: Imagine that you are the best fighter in the world, but for your final matches to determine you are the best of the best you get your mind put into the body of someone who has only one arm that hasn't had the adequate training. You are expected to use everything you know, but this newfound limitation holds you back time and time again from making the big leagues. Can you compensate and learn to use it to overcome your obstacles? Yes, but can you ever beat the top brass? No.

This is the current problem with Viability. A good Clown player can make mid rank survivors experience a living hell, but when he goes against the high ranks, despite the build and add-ons he uses, he just doesn't have what's needed to compete, and fails no matter how hard he tries. Killers like Nurse and Spirit on the other hand do have what's needed, and can compete at the high ranks on the same level with the survivors. While this makes games easier for them at low-mid level, they both require a significant amount of time to learn and understand first, which makes being able to compete at the higher ranks feel well earned.

IMO all killers should be designed with decent viability at low-mid ranks without the aid of add-on's and perks, and only become high rank viable with said perks and add-ons. If that were the case, then it would better balance the game, and make for a more enjoyable experience with the proper challenge level for the survivors. After all, this is a 4v1 game, and the 1 should require the cooperation of all 4 to beat.

Except ranks don't really mean much in this game. I get the most potato teammates in rank 1. If red ranks were filled with 4 man swf's then yes, most killers aren't viable.

You can't balance this game around a small part of the playerbase. This isn't a competitive game, and will never be unless they make serious changes to the game.

  • I mean since their reasoning for removing insta heals was that it required no skill to use and was too powerful, moris also must be changed.

  • They might remove her reverse bear traps in the next patch

  • The changes are great. She actually requires skill to play now and that's amazing. Good nurse players will still dominate.

Maybe they should change it so that the recharge continues while charging the blinks but I'm not sure yet.

  • @TWiXT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/746454#Comment_746454

No, this is incorrect. Viability is the ability to compete against the best builds that the survivors have to offer at the high ranks. To that end unfortunately not all killers are viable, and that's the problem. Spirit is considered S rank or high rank viable because her ability allows for mindgames and pressure that most killers don't have. Whereas Clown, while being efficient at anti-looping with the proper add-on's, simply can't apply good pressure to the survivors and isn't able to keep up with or deter their objective progression.

Honestly it all comes down to the most basic premise of what makes a killer viable: Map Pressure. Those that have Movement Speed altering abilities or lacking that, have pure stealth to compensate, are far better performing than those who have neither. In the case of stealth, survivors don't know where the killer is coming from which grants the killer a pressure advantage despite moving at normal speed, whereas a killer with a Speed advantage can cover more ground and guard more gens more frequently.

When it comes to Viability the killer has to actually achieve the status of the "Power Role" over the survivors. This is a Difficult task for most killers without the aid of add-ons or perks to balance out the many mechanics survivors have that work against them. What makes Nurse and Spirit "Viable" is that they either can ignore some of those mechanics or turn them against the survivors that use them, and thus claim the "power role" from the survivors and give them a challenge.

Its ironic that survivors constantly complain about killer add-ons and abilities, and the killers hold back on them because of said complaints, but survivors never hold back on theirs. In many ways the survivors, with the right builds and add-ons, claim the "Power role" and abuse it endlessly while whining about being the victims, which IMO is pathetic. If a killer can best you while you and your team is using the best you have to offer, that's not because the killer is OP, its because the Player out smarted you. Many survivors seem to forget that they are up against other human beings, and get enraged or salty when the lose to them, which is honestly unbecoming and embarrassingly juvenile of them.

This game is loaded with imbalances, but while survivors never change or have anything that makes them unique from one another, Killers have it in the opposite. Each killer has a unique power, and each power is gauged based how well it deals with the best the survivors have to offer. Most can do decently at the mid ranks/builds but there are only a few among them that can use their unique power to compete with the highest ranks and builds while providing them an adequate challenge.

This is what makes a killer Viable. Not the idea that they can "4k every match" as you have so stated. What makes a killer viable is simply the ability to, with their power, be able to compete at the higher ranks, despite what the survivors throw at them and give them a good challenge. Lets face it, if all survivors at red ranks had a guaranteed win every game... the game would've died out long ago. We NEED viable killers more than we need pushovers, and unfortunately, the devs seems to be keeping killer viability to a minimum in the current roster.

Most other killers can be viable against all survivors out here. If someone says that nurse and spirit are the only viable ones, they are just wrong. They are talking like they go against super try hard 4 man swf every single match. If that was the case then yes, maybe those are the only viable ones.

You say survivors victimize themselves and I honestly laughed at that. Have you seen this forums? The "devs never care about us, we can only win with nurse and spirit" mentality is everywhere and it's just wrong. Most people on this forum just don't want any challange and want easy 4ks or escapes every match.

  • I love shadowborn but I don't think it will be base ever

  • People love to act like they go against 4 man swf with god tier survivors every single match. The game will never be balanced to a small part of the playerbase

  • @Marcus said:

This doesn't prove anything. I can say that Noob3 escaped in 50 matches in a row, so that shows how OP survivors are.

Yeah, my opinion of course doesn't prove anything. I personally think she is too easy to play and way too powerful :)

  • @Peanits said:

It's unrelated to dedicated servers. There were some changes behind the scenes that are causing a desync in what you see, so the game corrects it. From what we've seen so far, it seems to be related to people uncapping their frame rate. I'd suggest re-enabling v-sync if you're having issues and seeing if that helps.

Yeah, I enabled v-sync again and it's fine now. Thanks for the help!

  • @[Deleted User] said:

  • @Jimsalabim said:

is the ptb on dedicated servers?

    Yep

  • People think that being viable is getting 4k's every match at this point.

  • I can't even test the changes probably because the game is incredibly laggy even with 60ping.

  • Another useless thread

  • @PalletOrWhat said:

First of all: I have previously played nurse without addons and I have played her without addons on the Ptb.

So the only change I experienced was the cooldown. This MINI cooldown. Nothing special. I've heard that you can even get rid of the cooldown completely. She's still the best killer in the game (without addons). With addons the gen grabber Spirit might be better. Great Addon Rework imo. But I still don't like her base. Still too strong if u ask me. Not really a challenging killer.

Btw...: I hate the servers. So laggy and strange. What's wrong with the fog? Whatever. Thanks for the nice rework DEVs.  I appreciate the effort you put into this game.

Did they enable the servers in the ptb?

  • @ColonGlock said:

@arslaN nice humble brag but the perk has been a favorite of killers for a reason.

I recently got into a match with really good teammates and we did 2 gens with ruin before the killer even found someone.

Not to mention survivors usually cleanse it in the first 20 seconds

  • Ruin is useless against good survivors. I don't even search for ruin anymore, it isn't that hard to hit great skill checks

Survivors being the ones to mostly receive nerfs makes sense when you consider how strong the starting point for survivors was. Look back at some old school videos of DBD, watch the insane stuff survs had available. Of course it needed to be nerfed.

Plus, a lot of survivor nerfs get padded with compensation buffs. Like, right now they're losing instaheals but instead they get better baseline healthkits and mettle of man/inner strength as add-ons, with the only condition being that it uses up a medkit.

So, yeah, they get nerfed but no way is it "into the ground".

They are nerfed to the ground though when you consider how strong they were in 2017. The changes were well deserved though.

That doesn't matter. Every killer Should be red rank viable, not green rank viable.

Bridge the gap between solos and SWFs, then buff bad killers. Do not nerf the good ones

They are red rank viable. Not every red rank plays 4 man swf you know.

I agree with the second part though
