  • There's a maximum of 100 blood orbs on the map at once. It takes 40 to fill your power entirely. Not sure about not dropping blood orbs, they should still drop while you're in your power if they're still injured. (However not for 10 seconds after an unhook.) Can always check by running the bloody glove and seeing if you see auras while in your fury.

  • What's this "now" about?

It's far more important to get per-Killer MMR into the game. In order to match Killers with Survivors appropriately according to the skill level the Killer player has with the selected Killer, we must lock the Killer selection in the lobby. Otherwise, switching Killer would require booting all the Survivors out who don't match the newly-selected MMR for that Killer.

Can we at least get a change to the matchmaking to not put us back into the same lobby we've just left? It's annoying for both sides. I see yellow ping as survivor and I leave. I see a bunch of ######### the killer I feel like playing is bad against and I leave. Hell, I see that same 4 man SWF that I get in my lobby 4 times a night and can't be bothered dealing with them and I leave.

What's the point in putting me back in that exact same lobby 15 seconds later? I'm no more likely to stay. I have to wait longer. THEY have to wait longer because you aren't giving them someone different.

  • Could be hilarious with Iridescent Flesh too.

  • Grabs are ######### all over the place. It bounces between vaulting a window and running a few steps before being jolted back to a gran animation, to starting the grab animation, only to get to watch survivors do a full unhook and leave before you're even allowed to swing.

So if your locker grabs feel different, whether that's good or bad overall, I very much doubt it was intentional.

As legacy player myself (proof - https://imgur.com/a/0g3pLgv, https://steamcommunity.com/id/adeptkiller/)I wouldn't be against distribution of legacy skins for free to everyone to get rid of exclusive skins and finally restore legacy to those who lost their legacy. Of course this shouldn't be just distributed to everyone for nothing, but it could be given to anyone who has prestiged one of legacy characters or has made "4th, 5th and 6th prestige" so "new" legacy owners would have to go through at least nearly similar amount of grind.

Legacy skins aren't the best skins in the game, however they look very unique and amazing, especially legacy weapons and having them available to a small group of people feels unfair. I believe, if BHVR wants to get rid of exclusivity, as they've proven by distribution of PAX exclusives and event items, they need to be consistent and do the similar thing with legacy.

What do you think? I am particularly interested in what other legacy players think. As I said, I wouldn't mind having these skins losing their "elite" status and become a fancy thing available for everyone.

I don't have it, and I don't particularly want it for the same reason that prestige cosmetics aren't that great; they're default with an added texture. I'd much prefer to use an actual cosmetic that changes appearance to something unique for me.

That said, the idea of "4th, 5th and 6th prestige" is nowhere near equivalent. Considering many people with P3 have all perks maxed out, that's a hell of a lot more points spent overall than just reaching the old P3. I know those webs were expensive but 3 tiers of hundreds of perks, many done before the 2 perks per web rework, is a craptonne already.

  • I don't find him very fun at all.

He's very one-dimensional in a roster of incredibly unique powers. Toss bottle, slow, repeat.

  • @Veen said:

I'd feel bad for the people who never prestige if the devs rework that mechanic eventually like they said they would.

I've already seen some salty people saying they deserve bloodpoint refunds because of the bloody overlay that was on the PTB, because that might be a new prestige.

  • There's plenty of reasons. There's initial launches where people can decide they just don't like it. Free weekends where people give it a try and don't continue. There's plenty of people who just don't prestige. There's the MASSIVE WALL of characters locked behind paywalls that put a lot of players off instantly.

You really have to get into this game by watching youtubers. There's no other way. When you load up the game for the first time, you don't know what's going on. What's a loop? What's a pallet? Oh god he has a chainsaw. Why is white mask man staring at me? That hatchet didn't even hit me etc.

Once you get into the game it's fine, but yeah. It's not a learning curve. It's a learning cliff.

Yeah, no. Did not ever need youtubers for this.

There can be a 30 second countdown. If not, it'll randomize it.

Something can be done, I'm sure of it.

Oh, that'd also be great for 5 hex totem builds. Just jam them all within 10m and nobody can touch them.

  • @ Antares2332 said:

I have said this idea so many times..

Devs should allow killers to choose the location of hex totems on each map. It would be great and we wouldn't be blaming the devs.

Oh yeah that'd be great. "Hey survivors, can you just sit in a 10 minute loading screen while I scour the map for the 5 best hiding spots? Cool."

That's wasn't one of my suggestions. Crouch, flashlight, coordinated run through, a dash of caution and lateral thinking. The last being hardest to come by.

    @Leonardo1ita said:

Crouch: mint rag lets you teleport everywhere at any time, even if the trap is not activated

flashlight: ok, that's the counter? A counter can't be an item, because if you don't have it or can't find it in a chest you're literally screwed.

No coordinated run through, you just wait for the rescue animation to complete fully and you teleport. instant down for the rescuer with make your choice

He's right, the add ons do remove almost all counterplay.

Crouching is redundant with Mint Rag. Flashlights are not an adequate counter as they have to be equipped before knowing it's Hag, the same way Iron Will is not an acceptable 'counterplay' to Spirit. And the last 3 are all counteracted by Hag being able to teleport at any time, at worst she just replaces the trap in front of the hook, then you've wasted a little of her time and a lot of the time of the person on hook.

It's especially gross in the basement. Run in or out? Get teleported on. Unhook after crouching for 30 seconds to go down the stairs? Get teleported on.

I genuinely never knew that as I always thought crows were disturbed by her.

Iron will is an already strong perk which is elevated when playing against spirit. It let's you be near a killer while injured and they won't know you're there. It's more than a minor convenience against normal killers.

I'm not sure on crows but I know for a fact grass and corn get brought up every time and it's been disproven a lot.

Iron Will is a good perk, that doesn't mean that it's acceptable that it's necessary to play against Spirit.

  • @slim0b said:

lmao if you have detective's hunch t3 you'll know where every single totem on the map is by the time 3 gens are complete.

Imagine any totems still being on the map after 3 gens are done. Up your Detective's Hunch game.

  • It's a big nerf. It only works on basic attacks and combined with the fact that it's still garbage against SWF and you have yourself an F-tier perk.

Dont forget to face the wall because then they cant start chases or blind you lol.

To add to the footsteps part, if there is anything that reacts to movement, (crows, grass, corn) they will still move when a spirit goes through them so use that to your advantage as well

    That's been disproved many times.

  • @InsaneNurseMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1494418#Comment_1494418

About your 'forced to use iron will' point how is it any different from killers being forced to use slowdown builds to stop gens? And even without iron, you can still use the mind games as windows and pallets. It's not guaranteed to work, but it still helps. If you were able to mind game a spirit just by existing, she would be terrible

The difference is that if a killer puts on a stalling perk, they're guaranteed to be going against survivors who need to do gens which are stalled.

With survivors it's a 1 in 20 chance that Iron Will is a necessary perk to reasonably participate, vs a mild convenience.

  • @Nameless said:

I cry in the corner of the map mostly

It's a good strategy, sends the message that they can do toxic ######### and leave with like 10k bloodpoints.

  • How to beat a Spirit.

Step one: Look in the bottom corner of your screen. If you see the Iron Will icon with 3 rank markers, you're on your way.

Step two: Take a hit, see if you still make noise.

Step three: If you answered steps one and two with "yes, no" then congratulations, you just outplayed a Spirit. If you didn't, may as well lie down under that steamroller because you're #########.

  • There was a note about no longer increasing hud details for certain resolutions in the patch notes.

  • Pig - Skill checks on Jigsaw Boxes are affected by the same things as every other skill check, unnerving presence and huntress lullaby.

It's ######### that there's NO WAY to make them even slightly threatening. You can add more skill checks, or increase the punishment, but any numpty will still complete regular skill checks without fail.

  • Looking at that would just severly irritate me knowing there's all those levels of prestige I'm missing.

  • I see 4 ways this works out in your favour.

    1. There's a much worse player who will run to that same spot and waste pallets that make the tile strong.
    2. The person you abandon is a cocky player who will then try to follow you around all match for attention, which often leads to slip ups.
    3. You go chase someone else and get hooks, and hopefully when you find the strong player later they're too far to reach that strong point.
    4. You just ignore that person, kill the others and shut the hatch. Screw them, doesn't matter how well you loop if you can't open a gate.
  • There is literally an identical thread on the front page at the moment. There is no need to rehash this same poll again.

  • Yeah basement Hag really sucks. You're either taking a hit because she teleports, or taking a hit because she has time to run back while you crawl out like chumps. That or you're just causing the unhooked person to die by running out which is also bad.

It's sad when your only chance of a good outcome is someone else going down across the map.

  • I'm not saying they wouldn't be good, just that it's more effort than cosmetics tend to get.

  • I don't care that much, but what annoys me is that it was raised to 5 seconds to counter Enduring being used against it, then not revented once it was no longer effected by Enduring.

  • Probably because it would require changing the model's height, and how their feet are positioned in nearly every animation.

  • @Toybasher said:

It's a tech, killers just need to adapt. Same with the horse on the Clown map.

Unironically, I have nothing but a proud middle finger for survivors who do this. If you see survivors do this hoping you'll give up and leave so they can get picked up, DON'T. Just sit there and throw the game just to watch them bleed out onto the floor. Hopefully try to record it, report them both post-game and a follow up report on the DBD support site and link the footage so they can get banned.

We need to stop this habit of calling "exploiting a clear bug" (which is a bannable offense) "tech" which makes it sound like some form of skillful act or outplay.

No, you aren't performing a technique, you're cheating.

  • @Raven014 said:

There is also a challenge to end a trial with 5 gens left. If that doesn't encourage moris, Idk what does.

At least it's possible and controlled by the player attempting the challenge. It's also a good one because even if they get hatch you don't lose. It doesn't encourage a nice play style but it's not entirely decided by other players.

  • @Crowman said:

Everyday objects don't overheat under normal use. It's only excessive and constant use that cause objects to overheat. It would be a problem if the chainsaw overheated under normal use.

It’s for things like dresses which is what Jane is wearing I mean look at Fengs dress skin it looks pretty bad because they made it two pieces

What annoys me is that they still put that golden plant detail around her waistline (exactly where all of her pantsuits divide) anyway, so it could just as easily be two parts.

  • IDC whether it's a husk or AI, as long as there's something that remains in the game preventing people going "lol I DCed and the hatch instantly opened for my SWF" I'll be happy.

  • It is absolutely horrendous for playing her. When you try to puke on things directly in front of you like survivors or gens, you basically have to look at the floor or it will arc straight over their head. It makes it really annoying just to infect gens, and considerably more difficult to land more vomit on someone who is close to you, which already gave them the benefit of moving quickly around your model.

Well it actually never states that you have to be walking which is why I wondered how useful it could be in a chase.

It causes debuffs to last less duration, it doesn't change the conditions in which those debuffs cool down.

  • Pretty meh, you don't often need Sprint Burst more than once every 40 seconds, and you're bringing a whole extra perk just to reduce that to 32 seconds. It's still not going to recover in a chase so unless you're being incredibly reckless just for the sake of it, it really won't do much for you.

    Seriously? THAT's your counter-argument?

    Ok. Fine.

I never said NEGLECT your power! And in fact Hillbilly, who you mentioned there, has the BEST MOBILITY IN THE GAME that is also an instant down. Use it to go around the map.

Plague can just HIT PEOPLE WHILE THEY'RE INFECTED AND NOT BROKEN. You get the infection and you get more Chaser. Done.

There is also zero skill outside of the norm in hitting a normal attack with something like EW3 Myers or a Haunted Ground hit. Or even old Insta-saw.

The Claudette you also speak of is punished heavily in the Chaser and Lightbringer emblems for not doing much. They may safety, and I did also say that survivors have it easy with pips. Stealth isn't rewarded as much for the survivor side. And yes, I do play a lot of stealth on both sides.

So, yeah. You've clearly put zero thought into your reply, and decided that I'm clearly ignorant or stupid for going against what you say, rather than asking for clarity. Thank you for showing what a healthy discussion you are after. If you are confused about something I say, you can just ask for clarification. It makes me so much more pleasant to talk to.

    A. Never mentioned a Claudette, that's someone else.

    B. "Hit people while infected not broken." Again you're saying a killer should basically ignore their power. Don't actually use it effectively, waste your time giving survivors an extra hit-sprint and then eat 3 more pallets to get a second hit. KILLERS SHOULD NOT BE PUNISHED FOR USING THEIR POWER especially not exactly as it's intended to be used. That also applies once per match per survivor unless they decide to cleanse. You have no power to force people to cleanse, and often they choose not to until very late in the match, which means like 75% of your chases are one hit no matter how you play.

    C. "There is zero skill outside of the norm in hitting a normal attack with something like EW3." Except for the staring at survivors to build up your charge to EW3, in which time a regular speed killer could reasonably go for a first hit, instead Michael uses his power and plays exactly as the devs intend and is deducted points for doing so. Oh but I'm sure "just never go to EW3 to be a high skill player."

Open Handed does not affect maps. Maps have infinite "Aura Reading Range", and the only thing that affects them is what is currently tracked. Open Handed does not increase the map tracking range. The only item Open Handed can possibly affect is a key, but if they intended for us to use the effect of the perk on a key, why not specify that it must be a key?

Yeah I think I was thinking of map add ons that increase tracking range, but yeah nothing to do with aura reading.

It’s good on him as he has no mobility. Keeping the farthest gens from you from being worked on is very helpful to get the ball rolling as a result.

Until a couple of gens go off, then you realise all the remaining gens are at the far corners of the map because CI blocked them, and now your mid-late game is misreable because you still have no mobility.

I mean it's not like they change their names. It's just annoying that it adds like 5-10mins to queueing because even if you dodge them matchmaking will put you straight back into their lobby. Such a stupid feature that just wastes everyone's time.

  • Sweaty squads should be hard to beat. The thing is, that should be because their skill can win them a game, not because 16 second chance perks leaves the killer no counterplay. Play for 12 hooks? Genrushed. Tunnel someone? DSed. Slug anyone? Unbreakable. Outplay someone in a chase? Dead Hard to the nearest pallet.
