I guess I'm having bad luck but zombies have been getting him downs or at least helping in every one of my chases today. I can't say having built in pals is weak.

On open maps they do nothing and survivors are figuring out how to bug them out and trap them.

Yup, he joins most of the rest of the cast of killers who can’t compete with good survivors.

    This.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

Vaccines do NOT heal survivors. They remove Contamination. Nothing more. Contamination is a TRACKING tool, allowing you to audibly track where even HEALTHY survivors are. Contamination also makes survivors more prone to being heard by nearby Zombies.

If infecting them gives a free sprint burst then it is a third health state in my eyes. This part of his power is literally stupid and should be removed... you get infected and he has his hit animation but NO FREE SPRINT there isn't enough time to deal with that.

That being said i have zero gen perks on him so am suffering the full brunt of survivors oh so skilful and epic ability to hold m1 on generators when not being chased by the single killer with no map pressure.

  • @WeenieDog said:

I"m not entirely sure what to think. A lot of the Nemesis's I've been going against are incredibly predictable with their power.

Like a Huntress that revs at every pallet, every time, and loses massive distance because of it. So I'm not sure if Nemesis is weak, or the players.

That is literally all his power does. He can't hit over walls or low obstacles, only pallets and windows.

There are too many restrictions on his power to be used creatively thanks to all the moaning and crying survivors do about "free zoning" and demanding counterplay for thee but not for me. It is slow to take out and has a massive delay if you cancel the power where you literally can't do anything.

Actually that’s not a particular good comparison at all. I’m playing the same game as everybody else. There’s nothing exceptional about my version of DBD that I’m playing compared to anybody else’s, other than I’ve got better frame rate than older console users, which I was also using up until November, and I was still good at the game then as well.

The difference is that you started years ago and new players need to start from scratch. I hope you play perkless from now of if this is how you actually view the game.

  • You know that this is like a billionaire telling people that a wage of $5.00 an hour is perfectly viable and that a customer paying for their food and then paying for your employees through mandatory tipping is normal right?

  • Some people don't find running laps around structures full of holes and windows that they can't even see over but their opponents can fun.

I like the hit and run, it makes the game interesting for me and i have played against it and won so i don't see your issue.

  • My pc is struggling to hold 120 fps on low and i am not even using 100% of the gpu. There is something seriously wrong with this update and it is making the game chug and lag.

They need to hire actual beta testers instead of just shoving it in the game and using the players. but you know.. investors.. money.. general lack of giving a ....

  • It feels horrible being downed by ai that the killer had no control over.

I played a game on the new map and the zombies just tracked me and only me all game. Naturally this dragged the killer to me constantly and caused me issues at loops and hallways because they would just walk up and stand at the pallet so i couldn't use it.

If you make them too smart or faster they will be cheap and oppressive.

  • Its a slippery slope. the more people buy linked cosmetics, the more bhvr will do them over mixed sets.

Linked sets are easier to make because they don't require testing for clipping etc. Linked sets cost more so make more profit

If nobody buys then then they won't make them.. Sadly i am talking to brick walls, just look at the mobile gaming market.

  • Just look at the outcries when they gave everyone exclusive cosmetics. the people that had them complained like crazy about others getting them.

You know what they say, “the second best time is now”. The sooner the grind improves, the better, who needs compensation?

I bet you anything that people would rage at new players getting 200 million bp to spend, or reducing the grind by removing tiers would have people demanding legacy #2 or auric cells/ shards.

  • They need to fix the grind for new players but they fear the backlash from old players and the "compensation" they will need to give them.

I’m talking about ONE add on. ONE!

I never said gut him, or revert any of his other changes. Perhaps re-read my post.

Its an iri bro... the killer won't be able to keep up a steady supply. Iri's should be strong and i am getting sick of bhvr and people demanding they be worse then brown addons.

got it mixed up with the one that lets you see gen progress. My bad.

Blight wasn’t meant to be able to flick so much I’m pretty sure

Demo was more a rebalance than a straight nerf

Franklins is practically the same since the key that would’ve been destroyed will now have no charges and be unable to open hatch

They found another exploit called the Z flick and got him nerfed for people that don't z flick...

Fine. Let the flaws be revealed and addressed; but I still want truly balanced gameplay. I guarantee it won't be boring.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2271618#Comment_2271618

This. But they ain't ready to hear that. It's easier to believe you're being hard done than it is to admit that your losses are because you aren't good enough to play chill.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2271583#Comment_2271583

Nope. I'm playing to win always; that is my fun. Why can people like you never understand that? Not everyone enjoys just 'chilling' and playing like garbage.

Then you will be more satisfied being people on the same level as you correct? I don't exactly feel joy when i 4 man 5 gen a group of rank 20 solo's

  • @dbdgamer123 said:

Because DBD at a competitive level is the most boring thing ever.

This is up to the developers to fix once they have clear stats to work from.

  • I can tell that the muddied red ranks have messed with peoples perception of their own skill.

Saying you want to play casually but still win is an impossibility in a properly balanced game. You are literally saying you want to beat up noobs and feel good about yourself for doing it.

  • @gilgamer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2269876#Comment_2269876

You can play chill and still win at least somewhat consistently if you are just good at the game with sbmm if you continue wanting to win you will have to play more sweaty or just continuously going on streaks of losing and winning. There is a reason that actually competitive games have casual and ranked playlists.

Well if you are actually playing chill and not clubbing baby seals and seeing it as something you did to win the game, then you won't mind losing.

  • @Zenro said:

I have yet to see a game where SBMM was a good thing. Especially in a game with such unbalanced sides that are completely different roles entirely. It will kill diversity as well. Its fun to face different killers and different skill levels. At high levels it will be the same stuff all the time. I dont really have any issues with the matchmaking now, as long as queue times are fast, which is what matter most to me. You have your good and easy games and you have your hard and bad games. Its all by random chance not some system deliberately making it hard or easy for you. And one of the best things in a multiplayer game is putting the time and effort to get good so you start winning more than losing. Because you become better than the average. It is something that can be seen as you can observe yourself winning more and outplaying people you would have no chance of doing before. SBMM removes this feeling as every game will be hard and since there is a hidden rating you dont even see your progress or how good you actually are as a player. And facing better players is what helps you get better. If you only face similar skill levels you will never get better. We will see what happens when it goes live because they seem very adamant that it goes through. My prediction is less killers and longer queue times. People say itll help them balance the game over time. I hope that is their intention.

All facing better players did for me is teach me how to be a better survivor. it does nothing on killer because there is literal skill walls that you can't surpass.

  • People knew billy was busted in the previous test so people would have been testing it.

You can in fact play this game casually while also being good at it. I don’t sweat my ass off every killer game but I still do pretty well in a vast majority of my games.

True, i sat at rank 1 using pyramidhead while listening to music or twitch streams. This is only possible because the current rank system is stupid.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2270005#Comment_2270005

Given that my games genuinely get easier with MMR on, I'm not exactly saying I dislike it. But, the concerns are real and valid and I just hope that the system is genuinely functional and allows for downward travel just as fast as upward.

Edit: Also, I'm convinced that if ultra sweaty games become the norm then the Devs will change something.

I doubt we will have a repeat of Dowseys 2 hour twins game. They probably placed a mmr cap this time around after that so there is a chance things will get muddy again (more variety) but at least it will be more difficult to achieve with a mmr system vs a rank system with a safety pip mechanic.

  • @fatbabyslayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2269870#Comment_2269870

if they chill wont they be able to chill with other chill killers? or the other way around at a lower level of mmr? cause wanting to chill and wanting easy games is two different things

The only way you can chill and still make it to high mmr is if there is some gross imbalance for one side vs the other.🤔

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2269966#Comment_2269966

The problem is that most people are already at that stage and won't be able to leave it, and everyone will eventually reach that stage because that's how DbD functions as a game and MMR cannot change that - the not eyou play, the better you get, and the not eyou have to genuinely throw trials til that becomes a chore as well.

Edit: And yes, the very real fear is that the developers won't give a crap about "high-level" play because... Well, they don't right now.

I got to rank 1 with a maximum of 100-200 hours as survivor out of 5k and can hold it as a solo player.. The game needs this, i should not be here and neither should the other players i am matched with from what i can see.

I am considered "high level play" by their stats right now and everything looks fine and dandy in their mega data because of it. Remember the kill stats they published? There is no way they should be that high for rank 1 and you know it because it looks like you get the same groups i do.

All we can do is support the mmr system and hope that they actually do something once they get some clear data.

  • @Midori_21 said:

Because if they did somehow manage to make a perfect mmr system where the strong players only played with strong players and the same went for new players, the game would be extremely boring and unfun. The less skillful the players in a dbd match are, the more interesting it is, because at high level you only see nurse, spirit, blight, and maybe 1 or 2 others, and the games end very quickly. And, playing killer is already stressful enough at high level, getting strong survivor teams game after game over and over is not a great experience (in my experience)

And don't say "Oh you just want easy wins that you don't deserve." No, that's not what I'm saying. It's not that I want easy games, it's that I don't want only sweat games. I don't like having to play a certain way every match in order to win. But sometimes during this mmr test, I had to tunnel or slug multiple people in order to win, which I find very boring.

If you can win a game with 4 survivors in the entire time then they were way below your level and you should not be playing against them. This might be fun for you but it isn't the reality of the game in its current state.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2269882#Comment_2269882

My norm is 3-4 minute gens without MMR, predropped pallets and W key, second chance perks at least taking up 12 perk slots, and that's just because I'm playing on evening AU servers. I don't choose this, it's just the BS I have to deal with and I can't escape it without deranking (which I won't do), which won't even exist in an MMR system.

So imagine what everyone that plays this game will experience when MMR is turned in for good. Unless you deliberately throw trials, you will reach that stage, and they're terrified of it. And honestly, they have good reason to be. It's not fun.

OH i know this all to well, and it is exactly why we need mmr. They will get killers that want to go hard and sweat while the rest of us can play Trickster tier killers and not have a 2 second game with 100 bp as a reward.

Eventually the data will show an issue (nurse and spirit only viable killers against "2000" mmr survivors) and the developers can start to balance the game around that information.

If it is something people actually fear then isn't that a massive issue that needs to be fixed?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2269899#Comment_2269899

That's not exactly what you said. I never said DBD was Chill, but I did say it was fun. My definition of a fun game is a game that constantly evolves and becomes a different experience when played, with a ton of options to how you play it.

That's why Minecraft is one of my most favorite games of all time, each seed is different and there are multiple ways to play it (Manhunt, Hide and Seek, Hardcore, and WAY more). That's why DBD is one of my favorite games of all time (multiple builds and killers and maps all combine into an evolving experience. You can be a killer that's slower than a Snail with a BK Myers build, you can use Desperate Measures and Botany to heal at extreme levels).

What I'm afraid of is that if this happens, all the matches will feel samey. It's either a Nurse with a slugging build, Spirit with Stridor, or something else Meta, with DS and Unbreakable Survivors pounding gens as fast as they can. When I play DBD I want a different experience, and I'm afraid of the possibility if that happens the trials are going to be less special. I don't care if I win or lose as long as the match was fun and unique, but I don't think these matches will be either.

If you fear this then wouldn't you say that this is a problem that the developers need to fix rather then hide the issues in the muddied cess pool of mega data that they have now?

They can't do anything if they can't see it. There needs to be pain before the healing can begin.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

People want it, just not all the time. There's a huge difference in playing DbD optimally and just trying to chill. The fear is that it fixes nothing because it doesn't take into account playstyle on any given day.

The other issue that myself and friends ran into is that our survivor MMR was high enough that we only saw a select few killers with omega sweat builds. Win rates didn't exactly change, but the fun rate definitely did. It's exhausting to play optimally at all times. That isn't why many people play this game. And yeah, we could intentionally throw games to get easier killers, but then we literally have what we have now: the occassional mismatch.

It sounds like your group is as fun to face as grating nails on a chalk board for lower tier killers. how do you think that makes them feel when they get stomped By clearly better players?

I have literally given up playing killer after this round of tome challenges because survivor was just an all round better experience SOLO. I cant be bothered to put in an ounce of effort any more against people telling each other what to do.

  • @Northener1907 said:

Killers will not face with babies anymore.

Survivors will not face with babies anymore.

Everyone will get matches close levels. That is reason.

But i am supporting if i will not get babies again. Because last test i faced with baby survivors and it was not fun. If i get good survivors, i have not problem with that.

Everyone's mmr was reset so we all started form 0. This is why you got new survivors... also the way some people play even though they "won" will not actually raise their mmr. Like slugging everyone and 1 hooking them all.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Because this game really isn't fun when it's played competitively, which is essentially what relatively high MMR is, and they're scared because the Devs won't change how the game works so that that isn't a thing.

If you are not competitive then you will not reach competitive levels.

  • @Nebula said:

A lot of people who play this game to chill and if SBMM actually works the way it’s intended every game will become a sweat fest

Man...If people are mad at tinkerer. When there's times you can't do anything at all about it proccing. They must REALLY hate survillence and want it nerfed. What's that...? No posts at all about it ? Interesting

They still get the terror radius to hold their hand while they try to get close up footage of their characters face on the gen. Using your 360 degree, third person camera to actually look for the killer.. ew

  • Meanwhile in the real world, ruin lasts all but 30 seconds into the match.

  • It isn't cheating, the game just hasn't been designed or balanced for it so it feels like cheating.

  • @JHondo said:

For me it's the people that run and leave scratch marks upon immediately spawning drawing the killers attention then going down 10 seconds after the chase has begun within the first minute of the match....

So you are the guy that gets 1 minute into corrupt and has done little more than cleanse a totem and open a chest?

  • It all depends if bhvr actually do the right thing and don't prioritize time over fair matches. The second test worked perfectly for me and looked like it was programmed for fairness over time as seen by Dowseys 2 hour wait for a twins game. The most recent test looks like they are going to put more weight on time over fairness and make the entire thing pointless.

There needs to be pain and anger from the survivor side (who is way to strong) for the devs to get real un muddied stats to balance off and fix the core problems in the game.

A perfectly played survivor team will always trump a perfectly played killer (Mostly) because most killers have a hard skill wall that no amount of player skill can surpass.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

You can also just stop taking it so seriously. Worked for me. I'm actually enjoying killer again. Outside of some problems I have with the game as a whole when I stopped focusing on getting at least a 3K every game and just went with the flow killer became chill for me again.

Not saying you can't play to win, but considering there's no real win/loss state just set your own goals for a match.

The problem is that by taking this attitude not only do you lose out on the "win" but also lose out on bloodpoints. you loose in every conceivable way possible and gain nothing for your efforts.

  • Did you overclock your cpu? My cpu degraded and only this game was crashing at the clock speed i was running. Windows stayed open and other games functioned normally but DB would randomly crash.

  • Bond, Kindred, Deadhard for ez second life and wglf for bp.

  • Badham maps have a higher win rate for survivors thanks to the safe filler loops and disgusting buildings.

  • In what world is you deranking to green ranks for easy games fun for your opposition?

The world doesn't revolve around you.

It feels so weird that we still don't have switch cross progression. I know in the Q&A stream near the start of the year they said by the end of Q2 (end of June) but originally said they suspected it would be the start of April. Its really frustrating and weird then that we haven't had a single update on the progress of it (a date or postponed date at least) as well as no mention of it during the anniversary stream. Is it still actually happening or has it just been quietly shelved? Its really frustrating as a player at this point.

It isn't up to the DBD developers. Direct your anger towards Microsoft and specifically Sony who allegedly are against cross progression and "fine" the developers of the game the amount of revenue they estimate to lose from cosmetic purchases on other platforms.

  • Allegedly cheaters were giving themselves insane amounts of bp. The cap was put in place to make it easier to spot if that was happening and also they didn't like people maxing out a killer on release for some reason.

  • These are the people that are heavily against mmr and are calling the end f days if it ever gets implemented.

  • Victor can only be used within x range of Charlotte for a set time period and needs to return or he "dies" (longer cooldown)

This means charlotte can use him in chases like a power but can't slug or camp on the other side of the map while chasing someone else.

Change how he is deployed and the swap timings to compensate and make it more dynamic for the killer player.
