So apparently it's close enough to an attack to warrant a speed boost on hit but not close enough to interrupt actions. 🤔
Counterplay for thee but not for me. i have said it before but i will again. His power was designed and then they sat down with survivor mains and asked them what "CouNTeRPlaY" he should have.
-
He is literally an m1 killer that gives a free life with his power. we all get scrubs that don't know what a generator is now and then, but when you get decent survivors you see how devastatingly weak he is.
-
Make a mistake? E
Killer makes you run the wrong way before breaking the pallet? no worries E
Need some extra time at a loop? run an extra one and press E
It Is unfair when used correctly and a huge time waster, time a killer doesn't have in a game balanced for the lowest common denominator. Especially when the killer has lower ping then you.

yeah it isnt rly tiny if you just strafe as I showed in the clip and for being 0.35 seconds and no visual indication like PHead it should remain small
The dude readies the tentacle with animation, makes a sound queue and has a delay... what more do you need, a big red sign with flashing neon strobes?
-
Why does nemesis have a tiny hitbox?
-
what's interesting is that the recording doesn't show the frames. I noticed this when i watched my own stream from ps4 and it looked fine on twitch but was god awful in person on the ps4.
-
But DS still does what it was designed to do.. if the killer downs you while being ripped off the hook in his face by a moron then you get a free escape.

That part! Truly! It’s really telling when the whole team has above 20k and you only have 13k because the killer overcommitted to you like a knob.
That only shows that running in a circle is too easy and your team took advantage of that.
remove all the gaps and the killers glow showing under walls so mindgames are actually possible, then you can complain.
-
I would direct you to tru3tallent/Dowsey vs oracle, but you wouldn't understand what's going on and just say KiLlEr bAd
Once survivors get to a certain level they delete 90% of the killers from the roster.
-
Only 15? i had a swf do this to me for 40 minutes on pale rose last week. They never get punished for it either.
-
Killer only needs to worry about himself to get the 4 stacks needed for the bonus while survivor is fighting 3 other survivors for stacks. In many cases you end up being detrimental to the others and throw the game for 4 stacks.

Flashbangs are fine as they are. They require precise timing to actually get any use out of them and killers can easily counter them by looking up.
Incorrect. Your back must be facing it or you get the blind. My first day after the dlc dropped i looked at the sky while carrying a survivor and they still got the blind off.

Doesn't work for me.

You are assuming balancing around that single match would punish the other 999 games. That's a pretty big assumption to make. Watch other competitive games. Take Dota 2 for example. Dota's complexity is beyond what dbd could ever aspire and yet it is a balanced game. Take a guess. Yes, they balanced around top percent. Casual and average people still enjoy and still play the game.
Stop trying to predict the future. "It wont work" you say. You don't know that. It works in other games far way more complex than dbd. Why would not work in dbd?
The current balance of dbd goes like this.
- Clueless noobs first day gets destroyed by the killer
- noob has been playing for a while and reached green/purple ranks and can loop a little but team mates let him down
- noob joins a dbd group and plays swf
- boosted noob wins more then then they lose and are now in red ranks thanks to coms
- noob finally gets good and knows what every killer does
- survivor player and team rarely lose beyond a select few killers <--- many people are at this stage in some regions with 2k hours being the norm
During that weird 4 day period after the mmr test where mmr seemed like it was still on, i had decent solo team mates and we finished the game with only 3-5 hooks most of the time. I also had trouble playing killers that i would normally be able to relax with like pyramidhead because the efficiency was insane.
I don't know what they did to change that but since yesterday i have been in games with mixed ranks so we get slaughtered and i am back to cruising on killer. I was even winning on twins with no addons and the sound off.. i never play the twins.

This is probably the main gripe I have about Dead Hard. Trapper's not exactly a fantastic killer but he's still decent.
Spending a ton of time getting set up, leading a survivor into a narrow area, and they dead hard over the trap is extremely frustrating. If it's in a narrow area it's much more annoying as you have to either pick up the trap or go through it and get your own leg caught.
Even better when the narrow area isn't narrow enough and the survivor can face plant the wall and still squeeze past the trap, even though they step on the trap springs!

Hag can definetely be fun but it heavily depends on the survivors you face.
Playing against aggressive survivors that constantly prevent you from setting up is insanely hard to deal with
I tried to do this but my ping is way to good for this game and i get punished for it. Stepped on the edge of a trap that i knew was there and got hit by the hag so fast that it didn't even play an animation.
How do i fight something like that?

BHVR is not one person managing the game. It has many different people in different roles, so one person fixing a seemingly insignificant bug (set breaking) isn't taking precedence over much larger issues (server management, game breaking bugs, etc).
It's like when people complain that "why are they making cosmetics and not fixing bugs!! reeeee". Apparently they don't understand that the same people who are graphic artists and designers aren't qualified to program, nor did they sign up to.
Also, it's likely for legal reasons. The Silent Hill cosmetics are all linked for the same reason.
The complaints about cosmetics vs bugs is more of demand that they reduce funding on the art side and put more funds and manpower into the game health side.
-
You forgot to mention that it is one of the most see through structures in the game to eliminate all mindgames.

I would like to see how dowsey does against them
He casted the tru3 match and then versed them directly after with the same result on both wraith and twins.

The problem here is oracle are a top tier competetive team. They are not the best in the world but they are extremely good. Tru3ta1ent is good in pubs but not in comp, his build and the way he played showed that.
Put a top tier comp wraith against them and there will be more hooks
Dowsey use to play with the oracle members and he played wraith against them after tru3 and got the same result. he use to be a comp player.

@latigresa said:
Show all matches against random pubs where he demolishes them.
Your point?
When or if mmr is implemented this won't happen any more. Red ranks are a mash of really bad and good players and are basically meaningless.

4K ratio is over 70%. They can’t build a game around red rank players who play 6 hours a day. Mmr might help you match with players who are equal skill wise.
Take off the blindfold and look at what happens in your game. How many times have you finished all 5 gens with all 4 survivors still in the game and everyone suicides trying to save one guy instead of just leaving?
Kills vs escapes are a terrible metric to balance the game on, especially since survivors have nothing to lose by being killed if they did enough for their pip while killers pips are literally tied to getting kills.

@SleepyWillo said:
I don't think Truis as great as he thinks he is...
Dowsey did the same test with his own playstyle and got the same result. It isn't the player that is the problem, it is the core mechanics of the game.
-
The problem is that this power trickles down. A mediocre swf team that would fall apart like a bunch of rank 20s solo, will make a good killer sweat.
A good swf team start to delete killers from the roster
A great swf team delete all but nurse and spirit
A tournament team put stress on god tier nurse and spirit
Most of my solo survivor games have 5 gens done at 3 or 5 hooks for the killer, and he gets more from survivors attempting to save at end game instead of just leaving the killer with a 1k.
-
No no no no no, that would lose them potential sales. Pointless, easily earned in game progression only.

nothing DbD can do about VPN
This also could be tied into the FPS/performance drops from the latest release
Me personally, I only ever find problems with lag when I am killer, and I am preforming a grab action. Almost ALWAYS freeze in position for 30+ seconds, while the survivor tea bags me
ping limiter. done.

When Trickser was released, not a single survivor soul seriously said he is OP. Everyone was saying that he is weakest killer in the game. So he got a slight buff.
Opinions about Nemesis are different. Some people say he is weak and need buff, some people say he is strong. So I expect devs will leave him at current state for a while.
The rank 20 survivors complain while the people that know what they are doing know he is bad.
-
@legacycolt said:
People expect killers to be a 4K machine for every round. They don’t want to learn a killer and get good with it. It’s sad..
Not much to learn.
Step 1, get into lunge range
Step 2 hit them or whip them
the end.
He is just an m1 killer with a really really short and avoidable anti pallet stick.
-
I dono man. The amount of people that rushed to throw money at bhvr for the new cosmetics says everyone is perfectly happy with the broken buggy mess we are playing.
-
Bethesda games are not multiplayer and you can repair the shoddy code with mods
We are at the mercy of the devs in this game and the speed that they fix and balance makes tar pitch look like it moves quick.

I mean if nurse had to do up to EIGHT 3 hit chases each game(this baseline without any survivor shenanigans) she would be rather terrible too.
She does if you are not a laggy scrub (60 ping+) and they all have deadhard.
-
They murdered the zombie ai. I had a match where 3 survivors were on a gen and one of them just walked the zombie around a nearby tree and it got stuck.
-
Turn controller sens to 100, even on PC. For some reason it is linked to that.
-
Kind of bad to not check if the update actually worked on such an important release.. all these potentially new players that will now avoid the game because of this is insane.
-
You think an attack ignoring a survivor and phasing through them to break the pallet is balanced?
Gee i wonder what you mostly play.
-
The speed boost + self slow down on infection is stupid.
Every new killer seems to go through this phase since pyramid head.
Design killer + power
Sit down with survivor mains who only play survivor with random killer for dailies
Ask what CouNTerPlAy the killer should have. and then stack them all onto the killer making the power weak and in some cases detrimental to use.
but yeah.. god pallets and unfair map spawns are perfectly reasonable.
-
If that survivor funs you for over 80 seconds and not a single generator is done then i don't blame them for saying f this there is no hope im out..
I have prematurely left games because i ran the killer for a long time only to see all 3 survivors thirsting for the unhook points and only one or no gens done.

I mean for positive, enjoyable reasons. It's mostly just hate threads about him. He isn't super easy. You have to be quick with your reactions on objects! It's like its own mindgame. Are they going to go left? Right? Should I bounce against the middle and see which way they go? It's super exciting! I love Billy but this man is my new best friend XD
The hate threads were about being able to bypass all of that and just do a 180 flick around the rock and hit you.
-
They should, but this requires actual work and effort. We can't even play the new map and the game is stuttering and crashing.
-
His attack is way to short for what it offers.
-
Survivors complained about the new animations and this was the hot fix and what you get to keep. Didn't you want stiff, unrealistic movement so you can wiggle and spin with no directional tell?

Because it eliminates any form of counterplay
Counterplay for thee but not for me am i right? survivors can't have counterplay against them :) Just look at undying and how fast that got nerfed because people didn't want to take totem perks or a map over their precious med kit.
-
Pyramid would be better because he isn't denied by even low wall loops
-
Rank 20 call him op Red ranks call him weak.

Make all seing blood iri and all seing spirit purple. Thats it. The range is extremely short, Spine chill exists and his shimmer is seeable way before the add on comes into play. And even then, if you can see his shimmer, he also sees you, so the add on also doesnt come into play.
It is ironic that he is complaining about something that gives "free information" when spinechill exists to ruin stealth killers.

We don't normally offer refunds for cosmetics, however, in this case we are making an exception. Anyone who purchased either Jill or Leon's very rare outfit in the first 24 hours (before they were sets) can contact support (http://bit.ly/DbDSP) for a full refund.
Or do the right thing and unlink them?
meh... I am guessing the licence holder demanded the set thing and you guys are taking the brunt of the bad publicity.

Wait..How easy it is for killers ? 😂 Or survivors ?
survivor. most games have been over or down to one gen by 3 hooks. I am even struggling to pip because the games are over so fast.
-
Playing survivor to the point i can't play killer any more because i know how simple it is for them.
-
If you try to whip a survivor vaulting a pallet then you default to breaking the pallet and the survivor gets away with no damage. that says everything about the killer and BHVR'S motives with his "counterplay"
