Sooo your going to do the exact ######### your complaining about? Makes sense do you.

    ๐Ÿ˜’

Every time i have got a full screen of cake offerings the match has been terrible as killer. Seems a bunch of people watched oracle vs Tru3 and Dowsey and are copying.

  • The scale is jank. You almost half the speed of a generator at the cost of only 2 survivors.

The way it should have gone is 80,60,47,32. not 80,47,36,32.

The classic jill. I refunded and bought the full outfit again through a ticket a week ago or so.

And now i found that the outfit is deleted and the auric cells refunded again... What a bad way to promote sells right? its like they don't want me to buy skins lol.

Fun fact is that i was about to buy the legendaries and charge more aurics in my account before all the mess with the skins and because of that i didn't.

Oh.. The recent update did that. it is bugged and randomly messing with shards etc.

Console is locked at a specific graphic setting, although I do not know what it is.

Ultra at 480p for xbox from the look of it. it is so dark on midwich that you can't see survivors in your face.

  • was it part of a jill one?

But do they care enough? Do they care enough to hire another couple of game testers? Do they care enough to hire a few extra coders to fix bugs? Do they care enough to buy an actual Playstation and boot the game up?

    I'm sure they care. Slightly.

I am sure they have both a playstation and xbox.... 5 and series x.

  • It freezes every time i hit a survivor now on xbox one. Even worse if i do it coming out of cloak as wraith. Midwich is unplayable because of how dark it is. Has it always been like this?

The game was pitch black after the update for me but that seems to have fixed its self unless it was a specific varient of a map.

  • Shame they will never ever read this but they need to revert the last console update.

They won't because it is an admission of doing wrong and bhvr can't admit that for some reason.

I could see very clearly on PS4, it was always the brightest to me unless something has changed since the PS5 came out. The PS5 is bright as well though, no dark shadows at all.

It is like someone tripped and fell on the gamma slider and left it all the way at the bottom on xbox one. It is actually unplayable now where it was perfectly fine before the patch.

Someone at bhvr seems to think that lowering resolution and reducing gamma = optimizing the game. They need new people.

You guys wanted optimization. Graphics are gonna take a hit... this is what happened last time. I'm switching to my new PC Thursday, so I don't care anymore. Hopefully PC is still fine. Lol

You know how pc has low, medium, high, ultra? You do that to console instead of keeping it with ultra settings and just making it render at 240p with gama turned down to the floor.

They seriously need to retrain whoever is working on consoles because they are clueless.

  • Xbox one is unplayable. autohaven and macmillan maps are just black..... no detail, just black......... I was staring at 3 survivors on a gen in one of the jungle gyms and i couldn't see them and they couldn't see me because i was wraith.

    IT's just black!!!!!!!

  • The console "optimization" just made xbox one UNPLAYABLE! It's pitch black on autohaven maps and the others are not much better. Glad i got to see what it was like just before the update.. they ruined it. I am also getting even more stuttering now.

    Roll back the update!

  • The emblem system is designed to FORCE survivors to interact with the killer or lose not pip. It is a bandaid to attempt to hide the rotten core of the game and how bloody easy the survivor side would be if their goal was to escape and noting else.

  • 3 other people hogging the same pip resources. If the game is too fast either way then gg to your rank/pip.

  • Hate it. it is detrimental to the killers emblem since they "lost chase" and only serves to boost the survivor emblem.

  • Jokes on you, i play with sound muted so clicky clicky doesn't bother me.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

This is gonna sound stupid but make sure, if you have a vpn, it isn't active.

Asides from that, my games recently have been good. I guess dbd has decided that it hates you

No vpn. Just logged in and it will give me random servers. Just dodged 3 yellow and then got a green.

  • I will agree with this when we have mmr implemented so solo players have a fighting chance against some killers.

  • @Northener1907 said:

Survivors are genrushing because that is safe way to win.

And killers are tunnelling because that is safe way to win.

Because modern DbD is supporting fast games. This is reason everyone trying to finish their objective as possibly as fast.

But this is boring. Because when you are genrushing, killer has not time to play and get points. And when killer is tunnelling, survivor has not time to play and get points. And both are not fun and so boring.

This game design is bad and faulty.

This has always been the case. The pip system was put in place to attempt to alleviate the issue by forcing interaction with the killer if survivors want to pip. Previously all you needed was 10k bp to pip and some teams abused that back in the day.

  • How does developing this over a skin make money?

  • Grim pantry and jump[ off the building 3 times.

  • I am down for escape as a requirement to pip on survivor.

  • ITs more that killers are upset with the devs for not doing anything to alleviate it. The first 3 gens should collectively only take 80 seconds, the last 2 gens will be done in 47 and 60 if the survivors play correctly.

There is nothing to alleviate the initial rush at the start when survivors are at full strength or even just to distract them from holding m1.

  • Not being infected makes him a useless m1 killer that can't do anything at pallets.

  • @Moundshroud said:

I'm not saying I know what can be done, but I will say that my experiences with him have not been positive. I've had my say on it and I'll just wait for the metrics. Those are going to be the only thing that tell the tale.

You mean that 4k i get after the door is open because survivors have ZERO reason to leave since they get a pip escape or die?

    That metric?

Kill metrics are useless. If survivors required an escape or to max out every other objective for a pip the story would be very different. Killers require kills to pip.

  • @Moundshroud said:

I personally think the super speed OR the super lunge, but not both. The true invisibility combined with either of those things would have been more than enough of a Boost. The two together seem too much to me.

Take either one away and he is back to Z tier.

  • Survivors don't like him because he has the ability to hit and run. They don't get their fun of looping an m1 killer for 5 gens so get salty af.

  • @Red_Beard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2314132#Comment_2314132

I don't agree. There are many killers great at shutting down the loop. If I set up a 3 or 4 gen with them and not commit to hard to the shift w play style I can counter it. If I'm playing 3 or 4 gens, I don't even need to worry about stealth all that much because they have to come to me to finish complete their objective.

I think too many people think they have to protect all of the gens. They don't. Chase them enough to get a pallet destroyed and get back to your close gens. Once you get the resources gone around your 3 gen and get someone out of the match, you can afford to venture out a little further. Or don't and wait till they come back.

There are also killer great at zooming around. Billy, Blight, Wraith. Throw on some perks to help in chase, bamboozle for example, to help shut some loops down. Again, be willing to destroy a resource and leave chase to zoom back to a gen you want to save.

No idea how you get this to work.. I counter it all the time in solo play because survivor progression trumps killer regression. All it does is waste everyones time and make the game tedious and drawn out.

Just pick a gen and the second you see the killer walking to you, lead him away from it. It only works when you have morons for team mates that sit in a corner and self care for 30 seconds instead of smashing out the generator.

  • @Moundshroud said:

Nobody is saying Survivors can't run. In fact, many of us don't even see the problem with the so-called "holding W." It is just a tactic. Me and mine refer to it as burying the Killer. One of us will run in a straight line to some dead area where there are no Generators and it will take forever for the Killer to get back from. Ideally I will reach some extreme corner. Survivors do what Survivors have to do, just like Killers do what they have to do. This tactic has been around forever. The only STUPID reason people are making a fuss about it now is a Streamer whined about it. I swear the hype people put on someone doing a video in the bedroom is ridiculous.

No, its just becoming way more common. Why else do you think it grabbed the attention of that streamer? The release of nemesis exploded its popularity.

Holding W was heavily complained about when Midwich was released because that map just highlighted the issue.

  • @LethalPugy said:

    When survivors move ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก

Make it so all survivors start in bear traps that they CANT get out of. I repeat, CANT get out of.

Oh look, The "Why can't i play with my friends?" strawman.

large maps that promote just running to the opposite side and in a corner are the problem. W meta includes dropping a pallet or jumping through a window, but the survivor doesn't even attempt to play that tile and only uses it to make the killer lose ground by either breaking it or having to move around it.

No skill required, boring and it works when everyone consistently does it away from gens. If the killer doesn't have mobility, that 20 seconds of running away is now 40 seconds of time waste without having to do anything.

  • Genrush is just an easy way of saying this.

Survivors split up or spawned on gens spread around the map and held m1 efficiently until their objective is done and ignore all other distractions in the match.

It is just gen efficiency done in a way that a killer cannot counter or disrupt.

  • @Bwsted said:

This is something that can't be addressed in isolation and it's part of fundamental design issues. DbD is a composite game. There's a plethora of killer powers and they interact differently with different survivor defenses. Holding W aka making distance is natural against killers who can't be looped. Survivors can't play against one killer exactly as they would against another, barring slamming gens. If you take away the ability to make distance, then you're indirectly buffing anti loop killers to S tier. If you nerf looping, then you're buffing high-mobility. It's all connected.

The point is that each killer must play to their strength and around their weaknesses. When we talk about making distance, essentially every killer has a way to counter or alleviate it via playstyle. Trapper will not chase outside his territory. Wraith can use cloack speed to catch up. Bubba has an insta down and palletbreaker. Stealth killers can play hit and run. Clown can... ok let's ignore Clown. Etc. You get the idea. Of course, even at the end of this process, not all killer will have equal power. But that goes with the territory. It's impossible to make a killer who tbags and stalks you become a peer of one who. can teleport through walls. Unless overboard and break the game in one way or the other.

Ultimately, it will also come down rng and sometimes a killer or the survivors are already doomed the moment they spwan into a map iteration.

P.S. I also find it quite funny for this community to be able to whine constantly about cocky survivors not being 'scared' by the killer and staying in their face, while also complaining about those who do run away from them. But I wouldn't expect anything less.

W meta works against all killers, only the weaker ones can be looped when you reach the opposite side of the map instead of going down in a corner.

  • Why don't they give them visual settings like pc dbd has? PROBLEM SOLVED

They just cbf to put any time at all into console and are relying on the raw power of next gen to run their unoptimized pile of.....

They do seem weirdly finnicky sometimes where there'll just be....empty spots. Usually at places where they can turn (which really sucks since you don't know which way they went now).

I've never paid close enough attention to it since I always figured they may have just done something cheeky like crouched once they hit the corner or something. But it might just be Dead by Daylight doing Dead by Daylight things and not working properly ๐Ÿ˜‚

    This!

i am seeing this so often now. It is like it is hard coded to do this if the killers cone isn't looking at it because most of the time if you just continue to walk where you suspect they would go the scratches start up again like normal.

Repairing generators also seems to hide scratches for the duration of the bubble. I have had many games where a gen is done out in the open, i am already walking towards it and i see the survivors run away with bbq or just by eye and the scratches will suddenly fade in when i arrive at the generator.

  • @DistortedDream said:

Yes, I'm very tired of ranged killers. But, I would like to see a stealthy trap based killer.

Sadly stealth and trap based killers are literally useless thanks to coms. You would just be playing an m1 killer.

  • Killer coming towards me, I have bond and see everyone is on gens nearby Shift W to the opposite side of the map EZ The killer needs to catch up to me and then hit me twice with a free sprintburst, 2 if it is a nemesis. even without using any pallets and just hopping through a window a couple of times at the end you will have wasted 30 seconds of the killers time to chase you and then he needs to spend time hooking you and then walking back to the gens being done.

This is all i see in most of my games now when playing a basic walking killer. Injuring and leaving them does stuff all since most survivors seem to be bringing stacked medkits these days, and even when they run out, they just get a heal from someone and continue on the gens.

I spent an entire game just damaging survivors once or breaking the pallet with a maximum of 15- 20 seconds per chase and NOBODY got on the hook with all this supposed pressure that survivor mains say i would be causing.

The next game i just proxy camped and got a 4k.

Just running away is a problem and it isn't the survivors fault. some of the maps are just too large to deal with.

P.S its not really a mindgame when your 3rd person camera can see exactly what the killer is doing and your sounds are essentially deleted for the killer when chase music is playing. I have run behind killers attempting to "mindgame" me at jungle gyms and they had no idea i was there.

  • Perhaps i need to play another game, but i have a launch day 1st gen ps4 and it was "fine". I didn't have large pauses or spikes, just te usual trash tier framerate that is somewhere in the 10-20 range.

Have you guys changed your thermal paste or is it still on the factory paste? i changed mine and it ran way better and quieter afterwards.

  • then you will not pip and you will probably lose the match.

  • The hatch mechanic has always been a bad idea. You are literally rewarding the survivors for being disgustingly terrible at the game. Where is the killers Free kill when he hasn't killed anyone by end game?

  • @Zeus said:

Why am I suddenly seeing an abundance of posts attacking the other side? Did something happen?

Shift W meta and survivors have figured out that holding m1 on individual gens will win them the game 99.99% of the time. You literally only win if survivors are doing random stuff or you hover around the hook and wait to chase the first person coming in for the rescue.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

Part of the issue is that a lot of the newer maps encourage Hold W with their breakable walls/god pallets.

I mean if a god pallet is pre thrown for you, you have no reason not to vault and hold W.

This also goes for god pallet heavy reworked maps like the game because hold W, pre throw god pallet, and win game.

There's no reason to try to loop a lot of these pallets as the killer has to kick them to not get infinited.

Even for the ones you do loop its a hold W then throw after 1-2 loops as your looping skills don't matter as there's no way for the average killer to play them.

Looping skills mean very little on several of the newer/reworked maps.

This. Survivors combine running with loops but never in an unsafe way. People forget that a 20 second chase of nothing but running in a straight line away from generators will equal a 40 to 50 second time waste for the killer to get back to the gens and continue to patrol.

Many maps are just to large and tiles are too safe and link too easily into each other.

Still waiting for their update that fixes zombies.

  • @_VTK_ said:

It's obvious that soloQ is unbalanced and DEVs surely know it. If the official escape rate for SWF+Solo combined is 30%, then for soloQ only it's about 20%. How is that 50%/50% that DEVs promised us? They also promised us that they are gonna fix soloQ long time ago, but nothing really happened.

    It's about time.

And concerning weaker killers I agree too. But it's actually about all killers, a seal squad of 4-man SWF on comms can destroy any killer. SoloQ and Killers must be brought to the same level as SWF.

Put that bias in a bottle and clear your mind for a second.

Think really hard on your past matches and how many of them could have ended in a 3 man escape, but instead ended in a 2 or 4k for the killer because survivors wanted to save EVERYONE instead of just leaving.

Survivors get a pip even if they die while killers don't get a pip without actually killing. the pip system is too screwed up to allow kill rates to even be considered as a balance metric.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

If you have to sweat a lot, the "victory" is often sour and stressful, no surprise.

My worst game in my life was on Badham as PH vs 3man swf and one random guy. I managed to 4k at the end but god it was the worst [BAD WORD] ever. I even stopped playing killer for a week and played survivor after that haha.

They weren't even toxic or anything, just good players showing me how broken Badham loops can be.

This is my problem after playing so much survivor recently. I know how broken the loops are and how easy it is t run the shack that it just pisses me off when i play killer now.

  • They can't update the game quickly because of console and cross play. Consoles charge bhvr every time they patch the game so they save changes for the chapter updates. Thanks to cross play we can't even use steam to test updates or make quick changes.

    Console ruins everything.

  • You know wait times got so bad for survivor that they even admitted there was a killer shortage on stream right? This was followed up by the decisive nerf to attempt to bring back some killer players. The only time they ever do meaningful updates to the killer side is when the survivor q time gets too long.

  • @gendoss said:

Well if we're talking about the highest level play then yeah it's probably balanced in the favor of survivors but in the average game the statistics show that killer is favored.

Not really. kills are literally trash to look for balance in this game. Think to yourself how many games you have died and got a pip anyway. Now think of how many games you did all 5 gens with everyone alive and the killer for a 2-4k from everyone trying to save ONE PERSON.

I see that crap constantly when i play survivor and it annoys me that it will be used to push the narrative that KiLleR Is fINe LoOk At ThE StaTs

  • Bring on mmr. Sadly they are going to cap it or expand rank search like they do now so swf don't need to wait for an actually equally skilled killer.....

That was quite evident after Dowsey waited 2 hours for a game the first test but didn't need to this test.
