Did you even read Kate's dare I say AMAZING lore? She goes on tore in her pick-up, performs on stage with THOUSANDS of people watching!
If that's not famous to you, then what is? 1M followers on TikTok? Hm. That'd actually make for an interesting survivor...
Again, idk, what is famous? We know Otzdarva, is he famous? well he is not a heck of a lot compared to Admiral Baroo and yet if you go on the streets and ask if anyones knows them, most won't but if you ask them who Brat Pitt is, they might.
Some girl touring and playing her guitar in bars, idk if you can call that famous.

This is another "current year" issue. Male characters are allowed to be flawed, have depth, and be interesting.
If you make a female character, she needs to be a nearly perfect Mary Sue or you get flak from a certain, angry, blue-haired crowd that doesn't play the game in the first place.
I think you are kinda turning this around, its the females that need depth and be interesting because they have been the role of "love interest" or "princess" or "price" for a while.
We want females like Sarah Conner and Ellen Ripley.
And lets not be silly here, if you would bother to read the story of for example Yui you would she is is anything but perfect:
"Nagoya was not what Yui expected. She could only find low grade clerical work or minor jobs as a hostess."
-
Ermmm I guess we need to define famous here because yeah Jane is famous but Feng....maybe if you are into e-sports, I could not mention a single E-sports gamer myself.
And Kate? pls, she just plays some guitar, does not make her famous at all.
and Yui, again, sure, if you are part of that underground streetracing scene she might be known but other then that nope.
Heck im famous as well, if you just stick to asking people on the school where I work.....
-
A friend also mentioned this, the bloodweb would have to be adjusted to where you get more add ons for items (considering they are always used up no matter what) and less actual items.

I think the real use of Hangmans will be the aura reading, so you'll see other survs hiding close to the hook to get the quick unhook when you turn around
yeah, this is indeed how I see it as well, I guess the other thing should be seen as the secondary feature :P
They left that vague as well for now "within a set range of the hook"
What would be good there, 9 meters?
-
I think we all agree with you, its not a horror game, its a horror THEMED game, but the game itself is very arcade.
TBH it would be an amazing achievement to make an actually scary game that you play in co-op, co-op so quickly removes any fear and it just becomes fun.
"aaaah dude, help me, this zombie is eating my face, help"
"idk dude, pretty dark hallway, you go first, go on, im right behind you, OH #########, RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN"
it would just be messing with eachother, good times probably, but not scary.
To come back to balance of DBD, yeah, it is rather painful how often survivors just completely control the game with the killer standing there not being able to do anything about it (cough cough DS, BT, Adren, Unbreak, Dead Hard).
I have the most fun as survivor when things turn bad, like the killer suddenly having 3 stacks Devour Hope or so, that can be pretty tense and therefor fun.

You only have 16 seconds to get to a hook. Wasting 3-5 seconds going to one hook just to find out it's being sabotaged then you have to switch directions to a further hook. Hangman's trick will eliminate that waste of time.
Also yes I'll definitely use it in a hook build at least part of the time. My icon is Mad Grit for a reason. Overly altruistic survivors are my favorite part of playing killer.
I actually made a build like that myself for the Wraith, who was in my experience mostly the victim of such survivor behavior.
However I pretty much never run into it anymore, had it one time with legion relatively recently and that resolved itself nicely without any of those perks.
-
@Kalec84 said:
E how is that possible?
Every killer can break walls!?!!?
HAVE YOU SEEN LEGION? my god is already strange he can hunt other survivors without being knocked out by bill, (not even talking about david)!!! HOW CAN "they" take down a wall????
My god! thats absurd! i'm done! i'm going to play civ 5!
(in case anyone didn't noticed, i'm just kidding :P can't wait for this feature :D)
Entity gives them power yo

glad to hear it. Sabo meta 2.0 averted.
yeah to the point that it seems pretty glaringly pointless to even do. thats a lot of devtime and coding wasted on a mechanic nobody will use....
Oh well, we will see.

The notification from Hangman's Trick tells you instantly which hook not to go to. It would be a bad idea to try to beat them to it unless you were literally feet away from striking distance.
@[Deleted User] said:
I think the Hangman’s Trick notification is really just to help the killer know wherever to drop the carried survivor or to immediately try to go to another hook.
but again, I would like ot stress that it merely takes a few seconds, you would know that hook is gone very soon anyway partly because it cant be 99'd.
Idk it just seems like as useless a perk as it ever was, better to just run Iron Grasp or Agitation so you can run for another hook and have better general use out of it as well.
I mean, are you going to run it? because im guessing nope.avi.
-
We will see, its all baseless atm but I also forsee some toxic gameplay early on.
time to run that madgrit and agitation I Guess :P

Toolboxes: the reason they implemented that is because of the increased speed of a toolbox. They didn’t want survivors getting frustrated by accidentally losing their item because they didn’t let go of the button in time.
Well, that is the learning experience is it not? heck flashlights go really fast if you dont pay attention as well.
I just find it weird to describe gameplay as frustrations.
This is not against you mind you, im just talking in general about the devs mindset on this that you are probably correct about.
Like, you know what is frustrating? playing a racing game, being first for 5 laps only to crash on the last lap and fail, but....thats the game right? what achievement is there in just being given the victory?
Like if that was a BHVR racing game the last lap just would not count or something (and yes I am aware there are actually racing games with the option to reverse time to fix f-ups like those).
idk, just weird to ask less and less of people, guess its more streamlined and people can focus on other stuff, but I guess I always liked the details.

think you need to look up the definition of "constructive discussion" before using it.

omg would you people STOP overreacting based on nothing, really getting sick of these whiney doom scenarios you are pulling straight out of where the sun does not shine.

Loops aren't infinites. Infinites don't exist anymore. But thanks for calling me (and others) out like that. That's a good way to get a warning if you hadn't already.
"They dont think of the option that maybe >>>>>NEW<<<< loops are by default made too long/infinite with the option for the killer to then make sure it isnt infinite but balanced..."
Don't prove my claims even more by not reading properly.
I have adjusted my text to....be more kind (even though honestly I dont see a reason to not call it as it is).
You can be happy...or should be sad, in the knowledge you are not the only one who portrays this behavior, which is maybe why im reacting a tad harshly but yeah, I get a bit sick of it.
-
Right after we get an actual African female, Libya, Egypt, Ethiopoia, Botswana, South Africa, Mali, take your pick.
As well as right after a Russian, Australian, Indonesian, Argentinian, Brazilian, Mongolian, Indian, Finnish, Turkish etc etc etc characters have been introduced.
Not to mention obviously characters from countries that no longer exist and countries from the future.
-
Because people are stu... I mean unintel..... they jump to conclusions, lets keep it at that.
Not to be rude but case in point:
@Umbrae_pk said:
Because they’re a nerf to loops.
^ this person assumes blindly that loops stay the way they are but killers get the option to shorten them, based on nothing at all.
They dont think of the option that maybe new loops are by default made too long/infinite with the option for the killer to then make sure it isnt infinite but balanced...
Honestly people, this is exactly the reason I hate Add Ons for killers.
The devs tested the killers, they found that X should take Y Seconds and A should take B seconds etc etc, then they made add ons that decrease that timing to skew the balance first decided on.
That is hte problem, its inherently unbalanced, either the killers were made purposely too weak only for add ons to be mandatory and fix it OR they made killers balanced only for add ons to skew the fight in their favor.
Both scenarios are undesirable.
You can apply the same thing to this breakable walls idea.
Personally I think its ill adviced to introduce this now, and even if it wasnt bad timing its still not a great idea, I think very quickly it will simply be decided what walls need to be broken and which ones should not and then it just becomes boring recognision and busy work.
-
"Let me start by saying I will see how this plays out"
Too bad you made this thread then isnt it?
-
Do we really need to have this discussion every time with every individual player?
-
Just ways to slow the game down enough is enough, not ever killer needs speed ,that is just boring.
Look at new Doctor, no mobility, but ways to keep everyone busy.

Idk why you care, they chose not to do totems, they chose to take the risk, which is fine.

I have not gotten my stuff back yet :(

I feel im good or atleast decent and changing/fixing already thought-up stuff.
But im really bad coming up with original stuff.
Though I did have some perk ideas when playing, I already forgot so yeah sorry cant add anything here.

All three of Steve's perks are bad to mediocre, but they could easily be great.
Babysitter- Instantly heals an unhooked Survivor but puts Steve in the exposed status for 20 seconds.
Camaraderie- Pauses the hook timers of teammates when within 16m for 34 seconds.
Second Wind- When unhooked you auto-heal in 30 seconds, but suffer the broken status effect. The requirement to activate it is changed to healing a teammate or yourself by one health state.
1 HELL NO, thats insanely OP, All this needs is a BP increase akin of BBQ to reward the extremely altruistic behavior
2nd Yep this is how it should work
3rd I mean, sure why not I guess.
-
Ruin is nerfed, Noed Next, then Nurses etc etc etc
-
Im going to go ahead and guess you are fairly new to the game, less then 600 or so hours
-
So why cant the killer then see what perks are being brought?
That might help with them preparing?
You could also always bring franklins if you are that scared of items should they be hidden.
also we should not see offerings, of anyone.

The way I portrayed it, at least intended to, is that they kill themselves on their 1st hook in the first few minutes (2-4 minutes) of the match which completely ruins the game for the survivors and makes it easier in some cases for the killer, especially when they have to do five generators and not three or at least, four. You're going on a different path here with your argument.
ok so its not allowed to ######### before a certain time frame?
Which means you are not allowed to attempt a kobe before that time frame? or what?
It might be legit to protect the team, if indeed its a camping killer like was suggested and you see all 3 survivors making their way too you, maybe killing yourself so they all just continue with the game is a good thing and actually better for the team.
Im just saying you can have poor teammates, thats just a thing in so many games, that can cause you to not do well yourself, it happens.
If you dont like that then you should not play Survivor or atleast not with rando's, that is your solution honestly.

"DCs are a part of any online game"
In the sense that we need internet which can fail yes, in the sense of intentional DCing? nope, wrong.
"we havent had them since 2016 we dont need them now."
Wrong
"its just silly. if you want to DC you paid for the game do what you like."
Sooo cheating is ok as well? and threatning someone with death? you bought it so you have full freedom now? nope sorry wrong again.
"if you want out of that match and want to go to a new one that is your right. you should not be penalized."
"Your right" lol... so very wrong, but if you want to go you can, nobody is stopping you, you are just going to have to suffer the consequences.
-
it is legit bad

You're not even on the same level of the argument. You're comparing something unreasonable such as "its bannable for a killer not to chase a survivor" to a mechanism where survivors ruin the gameplay of three other survivors as an alternative method to DCing by killing themselves on their 1st hook. Did you even read the topic?
I did, you want survivors to not be allowed to kill themselves on a hook "because that would mess up the team"
Yeah and running up to, or not running away from the killer is as well, and not being chased for long enough as well.
And a killer not actually hitting survivors does not make for great gameplay either.
So should we just ban for all of that under the guise of it being "unsportsmenlike"?
Yeah its an extreme but this is kinda where that starts, you are asking for more options to be taken away from players and more and more self input to be against the rules.
Which again, why not have bots play it then?

Yeah sounds great. Put a game on and then its community and mechanics are so messed up you spend your time watching videos.
Sounds like a good mentality to have for a game that is meant to be “fun”.
Never work in game design.
you do know the killer is also wasting their time right? just have something open, im sure you can browse the web a bit, if you dont care then where is the fun for the opposition?
-
Its the game collapse :O
or perhaps they are tweaking the maps for the smasher concept?
-
Do you realize how weirdly you want to regulate this game?
What is next, its bannable for a killer not to chase survivors?
Its bannable for a killer not to go for a hit when its presenting itself aka only following survivors?
Its bannable that you dont run away from a killer when they are coming towards you?
At some points we would just watch bots play this game, zero human input, just pure rules being followed on how this game has to be played exactly.
-
I guess I have it, Im just looking at this rift knowing I have ot do the killer challenges and even though I ranked back to 14 and am facing just pure babies, I dont want to do them
-
I play pretty much everything
-
The Monster
-
They should really just remove it imo, it causes confusion and I dont recall any other game doing this type of thing

Please dont just be a boring "throw chain and pull Survivor toward you" ability.

you do realize that would make it the only killer who could pull survivors back at the escape line in the exit doors? which is preeeeetty big tbh
-
yeah its amazingly bad, how was it just shipped like this?
-
Look at the Nurse nerf, she is still by far the most powerful killer and in the right hands borderline unbeatable...BUT, people heard nerf so "obviously she is the worst thing ever now bruh".
Same applies here, the actual penalty does not matter, the mere knowledge there is one is enough to detere people from DCing aka, job done.
