Any other perk requires a bit of risk and setup to use mid-chase. 99% of sprint burst users I see sprint away at the start of the killer finding them, which while it's a big deal, it isn't as much of a time sink as chasing a survivor for 15-20 seconds, hitting them. Continuing to chase for another 10-15 seconds and then they dead hard for distance(these times are extremely generous to the killer too). The time sink is much much larger with dead hard than any of the other exhaustion perks and they all require specific things whereas dead hard can be used at any tile. The only analogous thing is 99%'d sprint burst which means that you are contributing nothing to your team while you run around at 99% and try to get the killer to chase you.
The thing with Sprint Burst is that it protects you from being in a bad spot, a lot of gens are like that, not having good loops near them, SB allows you to run away towards a good loop.
The risk of DH is the fact that i can only be used while injured, which means insta downs are a fatal weakness of the perk, and it wont always save you, people seriously overestimate how strong the perk is.

Well, they could also make it "once per trial", like other top meta perks. It would be fair: one extra life per perk per trial.
That would make the perk utterly worthless.
-
People seriously exaggerate how strong DH is...
The perk is fine

The problem with legion is that a good looper can shut them down completely. With trickster it’s loop dependent whether your power is good or not and his add on combos are disgusting (Think melodious murder or piercing and explosion)
That depends on how good the Legion is, its also a good idea to use Enduring to cancel out your fatigue, since its way shorter to get stunned.
Im not saying they are amazing but they are definetly better than Trickster
-
Wraith alone is the main reason i run Spine Chill, since its borderline impossible to see him coming before its too late, most of the time i hear his breathing first.
As for how to deal with him, its basically just trying to loop him, cause getting away from that first hit is next to impossible without a loop right next to you.

He has never been the weakest killer in the game imo. Trapper and debatably legion have always been worse
Trapper maybe, but Legion nah, Legion is definitely better than Trickster.
They can injure multiple survivors easily, and while he is basically just an 1M killer against injured survivors, take in mind he only really needs to hit you once rather than twice like most killers, since he gets the first hit easily with his power, combine that with perks that help on chases like Bamboozle and even more his Fatigue addons and Legion can really shine.
Trickster is more of a niche killer, he is WAY too strong where he shines but really bad where he doesnt, he is kinda of a black and white killer, either he stomps or gets stomped, he is also heavily map dependent.
-
I think they are fine the way they are, leaving bugs aside, which is mostly them getting stuck.

Well he was praised, but he kinda went downhill in time. The Sony design was interesting but it could have done it better with a bit more outlines and such so it looks like the suit merged into his body rather than looking like it has been spray painted.
Overall, I just prefer his original look mostly from Arrival or something similar to Noah Summer's version.
I would love to have him as a killer with a Slender forest map and I just find having him as a Skin is just a waste since he is very well known and would bring quite a lot of money. The ironic thing is Look-see is a skin from Crypt TV, and Slenderman inspired the creation of The Look-see so would make more sense to have Slenderman as a killer based on past popularity and internet fame.
I do wonder though, if BHVR will chicken out at the idea of a Slenderman Chapter due to the controversy it had some years ago
-
@Mr_Madness said:
Same, he was one of the best memories I had in Middle school.
I just hope they either do the "Slender the Arrival" Version or something similar with Ghostface like being half original and half licensed with a unique look like Noah Summer's Version
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MKMFRKY7X1HT/image.png
But NEVER the Sony's Slenderman from the Movie...........The new design of him and the Movie killed him but I have high hope that Dead By Daylight and the Developers would do some justice and make him a great killer in the game.
Also never make him a skin for a killer, he has a lot to offer as his own chapter
Wasnt Slenderman actually praised? the actual character, not the movie which was awful, idk i think the design actually made an interest twist by making the suit part of his skin, but since it was well, a suit worn by an actor he couldnt look as tall or skinny as usual, but the idea of the suit being like his skin could look good with a design closer to the source
-
Idk if it would work that well, Slenderman is way past its prime, specially after that disaster of a movie, which not only was terrible but people said the same thing, it was a too late to do something like that.

I really miss the days when the maps were darker and looked "scary". Indoor maps especially suffer from regeant offerings because you hardly ever notice them.
Thing is when survivors used like 4 moon offerings to make the map nearly unplayable for killers, it was downright impossible to find those Claudettes
-
They should just discontinue Mist offerings, they are useless at the point and just waste space in the Bloodweb
-
If anything it shouldnt at all, Victor shouldnt get affected by perks.
Have they fixed that bug with Mine Blast btw?

In return let us apply a similar penalty to survivors, so the speed of the game matches what you want to achieve.
If you stop working on a generator because it is finished or any other reason, a BP penalty is applied if you work or even tap on any generators for the next 60 seconds unless you have done any of the other objectives first, cleanse a totem, healed another survivor or safely unhooked them.
We need to stop the gen rush after all and punish anyone who dares to do their objective to quickly... lets be real, if you are being tunneled out of the game, maybe your teammates should step up and body block for you, wait for a safe unhook, allow you to hide away while they take agro and what not!
Instead of punishing the people for doing their objective... maybe work with the other 3 people to keep each other safe!
Not that simple on solo cue, people will likely dont know where you are, or that you need help due to a tunneler.
(Can we add an emote wheel already?)
-
@dspaceman20 said:
I don't think this can work based on what others have said
The only meaningful way to stop tunneling is to slow the game down. I'm going to assume that most killers tunnel because of how fast gens seems to go by. The more gens are completed the more the killer is going to Tunnel in order to get an advantage. So if there is a way to slow down the game then killers would find tunneling as unessacary since they have the time to get 12 hooks. This is ignoring tunneling to be toxic though.
Thats partially fault of the killers design, a lot of the newer ones are heavily centered around 1vs1 rather than 1vs4 (map pressure), which is bad design btw
-
@Lord_Tony said:
if I want someone out of the game ASAP I never think about how I'll get less points because of it lol
I'll hard facecamp if I have to which is loss of points already
How about BP is doubled if they chase a new survivor instead of taking our BP away for no reason.
That could work too.

No of course not.
There's no point buffing it and nerfing the perks.
that wouldn't make sense.
Thats the point, if you buff base regression, then regression perks would be even stronger, aka unbalanced,
You have to think what any change would affect other stuff.
-
If they nerf every single regression perk sure, go ahead.

6 seconds on 40-second gens is huge.
It makes it 40 secs, down from 47, not from 40 down to 33~
-
@GoshJosh said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2400374#Comment_2400374
No, it doesn’t. It makes multiple survivors work at 100% efficiency on generators as long as there’s one instance of PT at the gen. So two people on a generator with PT takes 40 seconds instead of 80 (not including other modifiers).
But yeah, guessing three minutes is an exaggeration here.
Yeah but thats 2 people on the gen, a gen takes about 47 secs to be repaired by two people, with PT its reduced to around 40 secs instead
The difference is bigger with more survivors but letting survivor repair gens like that (3 or more) its already a bad move from the killer, specially later on in the match.
-
Doesnt that perk save you like 6 secs or something? also it forces the teammates to be next to each other to even get value out of it
Also if the game lasted only 3 mins thats more than just a freaking perk mate.
-
I think he needs some buffs (mainly his Fatigue being 3 secs) and an addon pass, and thats about it.
-
seen it happen on Hawkins and Springwood as well.

The community asked for YEARS for Windstorm basekit. It's kind of bummers that now this is a problem...
They clearly didnt knew what they were asking for, thats why making addons basekit is a dangerous move without looking at all the other addons as well.
Also Wraith got his addons buffed to make it worse
-
@GrimoireWeiss said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2400177#Comment_2400177
It's the same speed he already had with old purple Windstorm, and everybody back in the day used Windstorm anyway.
Thats kinda the thing, making Addons basekit ultimately frees that spot to use other addons, thats why Wraith's current addons are so strong now, since he no longer has the same drawbacks from back then.
-
It has its pros and cons.
Pros:
Protection against BW
Considerably more time to rescue teammates
Gives more time for side stuff like finding hatch or totems
Cons:
Might screw someone that desperately needed to escape (was in the middle of a chase), but this only really applies if the person was injured and alone, or its a one shot killer.
Overall its better to 99% them
-
The new Neon Legion cosmetic definitely makes me want to play them more.
-
Im surprised it wasnt James due to PH being on the same game as him and the connection it has with him.
-
I mean, Hexes are meant to be high risk, hight reward perks, so if it gets found fast, bad luck.
Also some survivors can sorta figure out what Hexes you might run, Undying pretty much guarantees a Devour or Ruin to be on the match.
Gotta take in mind, that if a survivor is going out of their way to find totems they arent expending times on Gens.
If youre worried of your totems being found quickly you could use Undying or Thrill to protect them a lot easier, or simply not relay on them so much, ive seen a lot of killers pair Ruin with Pop despite not having synergy with each other at all, since if you lose Ruin you still have Pop after to help you.

He has a terrible design. They should have gone with something else instead of knives.
I mean the concept of the knives can work if they do it properly, but right now, he is the worst designed killer.

At low loops: just crouch and he can't do anything. At open spaces: just press ADADADAD and he can't land a single hit with his knives.
My man, he can move decently fast with his knives, unlike Huntress, crouching will allow him to get near you for an M1 or Knives when you get up, also if the loop is really low like the ones on Swamp and Macmillan, he can still easily hit you with his knives

How can you call the weakest killer in the history of Dead by Daylight an "oppressive killer"? His power is useless anyway, because it always ends with a pallet in your face, or with losing a survivor behind a wall and instant laceration decay. He is the very definition of "weak killer" at the moment.
Again, on maps that have low amount of high loops, he is oppressive has hell, you CANT loop him if its a low loop, he will simply down you with nothing you can do, this is even worse on open maps like Coldwind where 80% of the map is a dead zone
-
@Junylar said:
How come Plague has 115% speed, and Trickster has 110%? Huntress and slinger can get one health state with one shot, therefore it's justified for them. Trickster's blades are more like Plague's puke: you can injure with it, but you can't do it with one hit. Just give him his fair 115%!
If you give him 115% he will be even more oppressive than he already is...
Remember he has no downtime from his power, he can immediately start building up laceration on a survivor he just injured, he needs mayor changes, not just numbers.

One instance of it working doesn't mean every other instance of it being bullcrap is automatically ok.
Thats mostly latency issue and the server giving wrong info to the killer.
-
@Pulsar said:
They didn't fix them.
They just flipped it so that it's BS against Killer now.
That isn't a solution.
I mean Survivor had to deal with BS hits trough pallets for a long time, if anything most of the fake hits right now are largely latency issues, they gotta work on the info the killer gets, cause right now the killer is getting wrong info from the server.

I mean, when you go up against Mikey, in red rank, people are generally good at staying out of his LoS, I should know, I've played a bunch of torturous games with him, lol
Nah, it was on Midwich which is like 70% hallways, and he definitely had LoS, he followed for quite a while

Dunno, maybe his stalk was bugged or something. Did you try to message him?
Didnt got a response

@ShinobuSK said:
Maybe he was just doing some weird no stalk myers challenge
Then why waste addons? >_>
-
@CaulDrohn said:
Maybe he was just new and didn't know how to use his power?
I mean, im a red rank survivor, the killer was also red rank, it doesnt make sense for him to not know how to play, it would be one thing to not know the killer but that would just be poor performance at worst, unlike here where he straight up never tier up at all, and Shape isnt a hard killer when it comes to his power, being in fact one of the easier killers to learn.
-
@Clowning said:
Now that's what I call a gaming chair worthy mind gamer.
I dont remember well, but im pretty sure he didnt killed anyone ._.
He got looped quite hard, which wasnt hard since hes T1 all the time, and without the perks or the lunge addon, he was basically helpless, so i just dont know why he didnt tier up during the entire match.

Same here PS4, has to be a general bug.

Legion literally guaranteed you would die and trickster is similar but ranged and requires some skill
Could add how low loops are utterly useless against Trickster.
If you arent that good at looping and even more right next to a tall loop 24/7, youre just dead.
-
@OtzEnjoyer said:
He's definitely more unfun since the "buff".
PTB trickster was fine and I wish they let that version be tested on live, instead of just catering to streamers and others crying about how "op" he was.
The biggest thing that hurts him is the laceration change, good survivors will just make use of LOS and then you get to watch all the work you did disappear.
The thing is that his design is terrible, his PTB version was oppressive has hell, since it buffed all the wrong things, he was already strong on low loops, now he is basically a god on them, making low loops 100% useless, if you arent next to a high loop, he is just gonna down you.
Theres also his camping potential which was buffed considerably.
-
Pretty sure its a latency thing.

Shouldn't it be OoO then? >_>
Anyway it should block it, but i find it kinda pointless to pair them

Whats OBO?
-
Played with it for a bit, its definitely better now, by a mile
