Prove Thyself
Seriously needs a nerf. It should not affect gen speeds. Last game only lasted 3 minutes because you know “balance”…

Doesnt that perk save you like 6 secs or something? also it forces the teammates to be next to each other to even get value out of it
Also if the game lasted only 3 mins thats more than just a freaking perk mate.
No, it doesn’t. It makes multiple survivors work at 100% efficiency on generators as long as there’s one instance of PT at the gen. So two people on a generator with PT takes 40 seconds instead of 80 (not including other modifiers).
But yeah, guessing three minutes is an exaggeration here.
Not quite. Prove Thyself doesn't completely remove the penalty due to how the game calculates everything. The penalty is applied first and then the buff is applied on the reduced speed so 2 survivors end up doing a gen closer to 41s. It also only "negates" 1 penalty so 3 or 4 survivors still suffer ~15% and ~30% penalty respectively.
Still it's a good perk as it's a free toolbox for multiple people on the same gen, but it's at the cost of survivors stacking instead of splitting which is harder to deal with.
It seems to be stacking right now, thats an issue. Anyone know if this is true?
Yeah but thats 2 people on the gen, a gen takes about 47 secs to be repaired by two people, with PT its reduced to around 40 secs instead
The difference is bigger with more survivors but letting survivor repair gens like that (3 or more) its already a bad move from the killer, specially later on in the match.
I wasn’t going to get super technical with the calculations, but yeah, hence the bar still turns red with PT. However, reread the perk. It gets up to 45% for up to three additional survivors and affects other survivors as well.
Prove thyself only provides a 15% buff to each survivor meanwhile each survivors suffers a 15% penalty per each other survivor on the gen.
It is not giving 4 people 45% boosts on the same gen. It is only giving 4 people 15% boosts.
Prove Thyself is a healthy perk. It makes survivor work together on gens which is way better for the killer than splitting up.
Discordance.
Ehh... I'd rather have survivors spitroasting a generator together than them doing one on their own.
That very much depends on the Killer and what perks they're running. If the Survivors are constantly finishing Gens before you can Pop them or before you can push them off to get Ruin going or whatever else, then Prove Thyself can be really really bad for you. Heck, even if you just make a habit of kicking gens, each gen that actually finishes means that there's one less gen on the map that can be in a state of regression, and slowly deleting the Survivor's progress.
I personally have Prove Thyself as my 2nd most disliked Survivor Perk.
Idk, I really like running Prove Thyself on Survivor. Gives me a boost of BP, encourages the randos to help me with gens instead of eating beans in the basement all game, and can be countered by other Killer perks pretty easily. (Also allows the Killers to get amazing pressure if they find you stacked up on a gen, making it a fair trade off.)
Imho, Prove Thyself itself isn't an issue, it's just that some maps are way too big for certain Killers to reasonably pressure gens, and other Killers just lack the mobility to keep up sometimes. (But, again, they make up for it in different areas.)
Idk, I think Prove Thyself is a really healthy perk all things considered, and doesn't need nerfed.
6 seconds on 40-second gens is huge.
If only killers had some way to slow down gens. Like.
Thanatophobia, Corrupt, Ruin, Dying Light, Pop, Thrilling Tremors, Surge, Oppression, Eruption, Lullaby, not to mention Discordance and Tinkerer, just off the top of my head.
It makes it 40 secs, down from 47, not from 40 down to 33~
All it does is offset the gen speed penalty. Without that it does absolutely nothing.
It's still less efficient than splitting up on gens.
Slap on Discordance and count your prayers.
Doesn't 2 people on a gen cut the time in half and then 1 more only cuts off like 8 more seconds?
Correction, it's giving three people 15% boosts.
With one instance of Prove Thyself, you still only (almost) negate the penalty for three out of four survivors, or two out of three, etc.
So all in all, survivors grouping together to complete gens with Prove Thyself is still less efficient than all of them splitting up. So there's no way in hell this perk is too powerful. I'd be way more concerned about Brand New Parts than this thing.
3 people on one gen with Prove Thyself is pretty disgusting. The rare instance all 4 can get on a gen with PT is basically a robbery.
Some serious downplaying in this thread when it comes to PT. And the guy saying it isn't a max 45% bonus? LOL please go actually read what it does before claiming things. It most definitely is a max of 45%, which is ridiculous. Usually the max is 30% as three is what will be on a gen while the fourth takes the killer on a 30 second chase. That's all 3 needs. Just 30 seconds.
And Thanatophobia is only a max 20%. PT smashes Thana. With how many teams are so determined to pile up on gems, PT doesn't need to be 45% max anymore. It used to be healthy, but it's not anymore. Needs to be a max of 20%, just like Thana. But that would mean balance and I'm beginning to question if the devs really want true balance in this game.
Visual bug. The actual effect is working as intended.
A maximum of 20% would barely touch the penalty for cooperating on a gen, and so the perk would be less than worthless.
This is just a visual Bug.
@Topic:
If the game only lasted 3 minutes this is NOT because of Prove Thyself. You have to mess up heavily to have a game last only 3 minutes.
In general, Prove Thyself is not even strong, most people just run it for the BPs. Yes, it speeds up the Gens, but it only removes the penalty which would usually happen if two Survivors repair one Gen.
And two Survivors on one Gen with Prove Thyself is still better than two Survivors on two separate Gens.
(And you cannot really blame Survivors for bringing this Perk, a Gen only gives 1250 BPs when completed Solo...)
Just putting to rest the confusion others are stating about this perk. Taken from the wiki below (take note of the red underlined portion):
