How to keep à.story going when you reached an end and deztroyed the evil?

Make him à Virus, its better instead of bringing in some fresh blood

If i recall apparently some dumbasses took Springtrap's chip (from the remains of him), which basically its all the programming (aka consciousness) and attempted to make a videogame with it, largely to cover up all the mess of the company (the previous games) by recreating the events of past games and make them out to be pure nonsense rather than real events to clean their names.

But as seen the chip had Afton's soul and now took form has a virus inside said game and ended up brainwashing one of the testers (the character you play as) and turned her into his follower who is know has Vanny, which wears a white bunny costume and is now set on continuing his legacy as a murderer.

Btw this reminds me on how the hell the third game even happened, Springtrap was retrieved between the first and second night, like did none of those idiots noticed that he has a freaking corpse inside him? i feel the smell would have been a dead giveaway, and that a lot of the flesh is visible form the outside.

Like I said, look at Coraline, a book (and later, a film) for children. It may not seem child-appropriate to many adults, but apparently it was deemed as such.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2419299#Comment_2419299

If you make merchandise for kids, then you're marketing to kids. Whether or not the content is appropriate for children is a highly subjective matter that largely depends on social norms, but you make merchandise that targets your audience (or the audience you hope to acquire). You don't see Caillou-themed motorcycles, for instance, because they're not the target audience.

For starters i doubt a kid would like a game has hard as FNAF, the first days are easy but later on they can be pretty damn hard, and thats without counting the hard modes such has the infamous 20/20/20/20 mode which requires you to be basically flawless to beat it.

Heres an example of that mode:

The merchandise being for kids I agree with, the actual games though are definitely not for kids given how they’re designed, I definitely wouldn’t want my kids to play a game that involves child-murdering robot zombies

This is specially true for the 4th game

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2419282#Comment_2419282

It was marketed to kids (from what I understand, some FNAF merchandise was made specifically for kids) and the playerbase consists (or consisted, naturally they've grown up since) of children and young teens.

Just because the content may not look like it's for kids doesn't mean it's not. Look at Coraline, for instance.

Its no really for kids though, ifs anything its for teens and above, even if theres merchandise, the actual games themselves arent, but everyone knows nobody gives an F about rating which often results in stupid parents complaining about the games being violent despite buying for their young kids -_-

Whatever FNAF may look like its for kids but definitely isnt

At this point I simply hope that it will be a FNAF chapter to stop all this whining pro and con FNAF. Every new chapter and teaser there comes one part of the community screaming mutiny for it to be FNAF and another against.

To the op, which uninspired killers that don't fit into DBD would you mean? Just an honest question to your opinion, since I don't think that any of the non licensed except trickster are questionable from my point of view.

(To trickster, he is too bright and colorful for me, not taking any cosmetics into consideration and is the only real humanlike not disformed and too real killer. All other are obvious products of fiction while he could be a real person.)

What about Huntress and Legion? they are pretty much normal and could easily be real.

  • @TheMadCat said:

I don't know much about FNaF, but reading the theories, it makes sense. I'd be happy no matter who is the new Killer.

I do hope people don't expect too much Springtrap because we could be wrong. I also hope today's hint we put us deeper into one or another theory. The trailer should be out Friday, right?

For some context Springtrap is a hybrid animatronic in a sense that its both a suit and a robot, but EXTREMELY unsafe, its possessed by a serial killer William Afton (the main antagonist of the series) who is know to have killed multiple children using the suit (originally named Spring Bonnie), after being cornered by the ghosts of his victims he attempts to hide in the suit for safety thinking they would fear him, but this proves to be his fatal mistake since the deterioration of the suit caused it to malfunction and release all the mechanical parts crushing him and puncturing him, killing him in the process, his soul would later poses the animatronic turning it into a mechanical monster thats both animatronic and a corpse fused together, despite this state he would continue his career has a serial killer, he even describes his fate has bittersweet but fitting.

Theres a lot more after but thats after he stopped being Springtrap and turned into Scraptrap (a far more destroyed version of the animatronic) and later Glitchtrap (a virtual virus after his body was completely destroyed)

    "most of them"

    Trapper bags

    Apex muffler and iridescent brick

Nurse blink recharge addons, Nurse range addons

Myers stalk speed addons (not to be confused with movement speed while stalking addons)

Hags mint rag, range addons, and rusty shackles

Doctor iridescent king, and detonation delay addons

Huntress, wind up, wind down, and extra hatchet addons

I think this is a small enough selection to show that plenty of killers have powerful addons without drawbacks that can boost their kits, its just that many of them have a more subtle feeling effect most of the time in comparison to silent bell and all seeing but they just like those addons can win a match or make the difference needed to win one

Also the "sacrifice" for a strong addon is to be down an addon slot that something else could use especially when addons are used to patch up weaknesses in killers basekits, a wraith with silent bell all seeing can't uncloak faster, break things faster while invisible, move even faster while invisible, cloak faster, or do something like apply debuffs, the list goes on but there are plenty of strong things that wraith can no longer do since he has committed his entire loadout to information and increased surprise factor

Im talking about the red ones mostly here

And like i mentioned they usually have some for of drawback, condition to work or arent that strong to begin with.

Both of those Wraith addons are strong and have no drawbacks, one isnt even red despite being on par with them (better in some cases)

For example the Brick requires you to be on the sprint for at least 2 secs, and getting someone from a far sprint isnt exactly easy.

Or Mint Rag has a CD to use it.

    Get what i mean?

And regardless theres a bunch of other addons that do deserver to be look at, such has Rusted Shackles which is basically red quality.

But right now we looking and Wraith, both of his addons are too strong, simple has that, and while 12 meters doesnt seem like much, you have to consider how fast Wraith is like 80% of the time which massively compensates for the sorta short distance.

Besides most killers need an addon pass, Legion being an example, two of thier addons became completely useless after their changes to Deep Wound

  • @bjorksnas said:

I think they are fine, its ok for killers to have strong addons

Most of them come with drawbacks though, or arent powerful, Wraith one is too strong for not having ANY drawback.

Other two similar addons cripple their killers in some way.

Shape cant tier up and Pig only has one Reverse Beartrap

You could use that argument for every single company in the world, except BVHR.

Whats stupid is that they didnt even bothered, they tried once and gave up

  • This alone is the sole reason i firmly believe Infectious Fright should have a CD.

I.. guess. I mean I think I can understand that reasoning, but.... none of the clothing are that tight nor is there... well you know what I'm trying to say.

Actually, it is true to do that, since it helps you with designing clothing, mainly how the clothes would look like on that type of body, this is also true for drawing.

This is specially true for bigger clothes that make harder to see the actual body, such has hoods, since too small it looks weird and cuts the characters head, and too big will make it defy laws of physics.

    I draw, so i know.

  • @Junylar said:

It's more an issue with emblems. As a survivor, you can easily escape with the hatch, just stay long enough for it to open. As the killer, you have do sweat and babysit survivors for those emblems. They should just change the requirement from "merciless" to just "3+k", since it's what is counted as a victory by most players.

Yeah they should, the game is know for being unfair to one side with this kind of things, an example being the crowns, while the killer just has to touch it, the survivors had to escape with it.

  • Thats more an issue with Adept if anything, i mean, you are basically crippling yourself by using 3 specific perks that may or may not help you with their respective killers (Huntress being a prime example of horrendous perks)

Cant really complain much about what the survivors bring when youre forcing yourself to do a challenge like that, thats pretty much the main reason im attempting the adepts right now that my rank is really low, since one i dont know how to play most killers nor im a good at it due to lack of experience on top of being forced to use their 3 perks only.

I'm sure if a license agreement happened Among Us would let BHVR make the characters look more human while keeping the tone (see pic someone else posted of realistic fan art). You just don't want them to add an Among Us chapter so you're focusing on something that could easily be adjusted to have it in DBD as a reason to not have it as a license.

Would that even be Among Us anymore? thats the problem, the style of AU would be lost.

Best they can do is has charms or maybe a head cosmetic at best, but a full character just wouldnt work.

  • @bm33 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2409936#Comment_2409936

So if they were cartoonish and 3D like FNAF or the Legion bunny suits you'd be fine with it? Problem is 2D cartoons so does that mean no Scooby Doo even though many would love atleast a Scooby Doo cosmetic set? Seems bit silly.

Sigh... Scooby Doo would work (Besides the dog obviously) you know why? cause they at least look like regular humans, hell look at the live actions which btw had the perfect actor for Shaggy.

Among Us characters dont even look human and even if they were 3D they would still not work, their design doesnt work in DBD.

Also the bunny cosmetic is a mascot costume wore by a person, funny enough thats kinda what Springtrap is, an hybrid animatronic that can be worse has a suit, with a 90% chance of killing you.

Again, freaking 2D Cartoonish characters that dont even look humanoid.

Ash fixes generators with a puppet hand. I'm sure the Devs can make it work.

No, they cannot, it simply wouldnt work without drastically changing the source material, which at that point its not even the same thing anymore.

Among Us simply doesnt work in DBD, and theres no way to make it work outside of being cosmetic charms.

They created new lore for Ghostface, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to do one for Among Us.

I mean... Ghostfase is a least a realistic human, and the reason was largely copyright and they could only use the mask.

The Impostors/Crewmates are 2D cartoonish characters that are extremely far from looking realistic

  • @PalletsAndHooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2409802#Comment_2409802

Colors: dbd used to heavily rely on for filters for maps, and at one seeming point, color palates for characters were very helpful and interesting. Its classically intuitive for the crewmate to fit in as a survivor; they can add some fun skins as alts such as a detailed NASA outfit (gold outfit with a shiny silver visor version for auric cells, plain white for iridescent shards) or simply a yellow crewmate with a banana peel for a hat

Lore: like dbd, among us has ambiguous lore that fits into the common dbd narrative; that requires some imagination on the players part...unlike fnaf and it's unimaginative takeaway from Chuck E Cheese or even Disney world animatronics from the 90s. Simply put, among us CAN fit in plain and nicely whereas FNAF would require alot more extensive insight that I feel many dbd players could not frame without effort or an irrational excuse

Carbon copies: have you forgotten how many palate swaps are found in this game? Not only do we have the standard Hag, but we have nearly every color of the alphabet Hag found on the store

Sorry but not sorry, you're mistaken and Among Us will always be the superior and sensible choice over FNAF.

    Youre trying too hard mate.

  • Yeah... this one has like 0% chance of happening, i doubt most people here know who he even is.

Correct. But smart survivors won´t 3 gen themselves.

Wish that was the case, but solo cue makes it really hard for that not to happen due to lack of communication from the teammates

  • I mean FNAF wouldn't look out of place, its a freaking animatronic which do exist and look like that, Among Us on the other hand have a cartoonish design thats downright impossible to port to DBD

  • Thats a meme build thats HEAVILY map dependent.

  • I dont think it would work, that game has a really unique setting that doesnt translate to DBD at all, since you play has a tiny character in a world filled with giant monsters.

Maybe as skins though, Feng could be Six and Jake could be Mono (or the Runaway Kid) as for the killers i guess Clown could be the chefs with Deathslinger has the Hunter?

  • Its actually a really solid perk for solo players

If they were to make a paragraph modern RE killer, I think Jack Baker or Heisenberg would work better than Lady D. She's just so tall. The devs would have to shrink her down to get her to fit, which would just look weird.

I doubt she would even be a viable choice, she got a lot of hype but, she is far from being iconic to the RE franchise like Nemesis or Mr. X, hell Jack Baker is more iconic than her since he was around for most of the game and even part of DLCs, even being mentioned in RE8

If anything Dimitrescu was underwhelming in the game, with Heisenberg outshining her by far.

I agree. With direction BHVR has been moving with inclusivity partnering with him just looks like backward step and like the inclusion was just for show.

No it wouldnt, having different political views barely matter when they dont push them into their products, Scott never pushed any political agendas in FNAF, also he is no longer in charge since he retired.

I would think yes it is popular and yes a lot of people disagree with you. I'm not biggest fan of K-pop, however I know a lot of people are so that makes me the minority not the majority.

Pretty much, just cause you dont like FNAF doesnt mean it isnt a popular choice for a chapter.

Think would be half the size of Bedham Preschool since the building is small when looking at the security cams and map. Then there is also the possibility of it being in a small fair ground since the building is also a haunted house, basically.

They could also just create an OG map, they already did something like that with Ghostface being an original character and even having a completely new design not seen in the movies.

I say the RE chapter is the best argument against anything FNAF:

RCPD is the map closest to any fnaf or spinoff map, and even Nemesis who was created for it and HAG and stealth killers have trouble on there.

Eh... i highly doubt the devs take into account the related killer when designing a map.

Also i highly doubt the pizzeria (if that was the map) would be even close to the same size RPD is.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2404618#Comment_2404618

this actually just sounds like the game just made it more stressful to the player to play it instead of better….

anyways even if bhvr would try to put fnaf into the game it physically wouldn’t work as it does not convert over at all, dbd is a game about having a killer chase you around, fnaf is a stationary game where you have to defend yourself in a single space

And I swear if you try to use the concept for a fnaf chapter that someone made that whole concept was botched and was littered with bad game design, and using the “pyramid head” argument won’t work either as his abilities still use things featured in Silent Hill (Cage of Atonement is what 2 of the bosses are in)

I mean would it really matter? they can easily just put Springtrap in it, probably has a stealth type killer due to the nature of the games, as for the abilities they could definitely figure something out for a paranormal mechanical monster that has even become a virtual virus.

  • @Hoodied said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2404608#Comment_2404608

Its literally the exact same thing over and over again with a different gimmick, how does it not get old?

Not really, each games changes the formula to some extend.

FNAF was mainly centered around the door and lights, plus the thing with Foxy.

2 removed the doors and added the mask, also had greater emphasis on the lights and also added the music box

3 made it a single animatronic that you constantly have to search for and lure him away with noise, while dealing with ghost messing with your equipment.

4 was a full redesign being centered entirely on sound cues to know what to do, having to hear the breathing at the doors to close them or flashlights them if you dont hear it, and with Freadbear being even harder since you REALLY need to know each sound he makes to beat him.

SL was a bunch of different minigames and later added a proper FNAF classic style more with the custom night, which had a lot of different mechanics.

Pizza Simulator was also heavily different than the usual.

Anyway, the game does changes from each entry to the next one.

  • @Hoodied said:

I’d much rather something much more interesting than a robot with a corpse in it, no joke an internet series inspired by fnaf is better than fnaf solely because it used real horror instead of “scream at you”

Anyways the unique kick and break animations can also fit literally anyone else, silent hill creatures, creatures who are stronger when it comes to upper body strength, and so much more, they could also use a weapon to break it (kinda like spirit)

Fnaf may be suggested alot but most of the time people don’t usually agree with it as FNAF really isn’t considered horror as, and I cannot believe people are desensitized to this,

    HORROR.ISN’T.ALL.JUMPSCARES

Silent Hill doesn’t use jumpscares, it uses unsettling imagery to leave the player uneasy for example, fnaf literally is just “dead body in robots that yell at you” and thinking about that sounds bad already, can we PLEASE just leave the idea of fnaf in dbd alone for a while cause everytime this topic is brought up, I basically have to extend my response to tell the person that its not a good idea

I mean FNAF sure centers a lot on Jumpscares but that isnt all, theres also the atmosphere the franchise has, this is specially true for FNAF4, the whole paranoia feeling you get from the animatronics just staring at you from the cameras and trying to get closer to you when youre not looking.

While also being burned a couple of times.......I don't know if the fire made him smell less or just increase the ungodly smell.

In all seriousness would be fine with Springtrap since he is an actual killer but just trapped in a mechanical suit which ironically he worse to kill his victims. Fnaf chapter would be cool as long Springtrap is the killer and no one else since Springtrap aka William is the only killer in the franchise.

His weapon would be his hands because how badly the suit is damaged would not surprise me if there is jagged metal on his hands or a Fire axe like you said. I just hope he has some sort of Jumpscare mechanic or something that will scare people even if it's just leaning from walls like Ghostface. Heck if he gets a Map if could be Fazbear frights and when End game happens the entire map would just burn down instead of the normal mechanic.

I am more in favor of Slenderman but I did like Fnaf in middle school. Mostly just the lore and figuring out what the authentic story is.

Eh.. not exactly, Funtime Freddy (later Molten Freddy) is just as bad, unlike the other animatronics who are largely tragic souls twisted by the faulty programing and misguided, he actually enjoys torturing and killing people, hell in the non-canon novels he is portrayed as extremely sadistic.

Have fun dreaming, it's likely not going to happen. Any and everyone who wants to get their hopes up gets immediately shutdown by majority of the community.

Honestly, with the amount of unreasonable hate FNAF gets within our community, I can't see a FNAF Chapter ever being added to Dead by Daylight. Just waiting for the usual "FNAF is a kids game, so it won't fit in DBD"

People really think its a kids game? sure it isnt super violent or anything, but its lore and all is definitely not for kids, and some of the animatronics do have some unnerving designs, for me it was mainly Withered Bonnie, idk him lacking the face made him a lot scarier for me, same goes when he doesnt have his eyes and its just empty black holes.

Theres also the 4th game which is probably the most scary of the games since its heavily centered around sound rather than visual gameplay.

Anyway if anything it would rate FNAF a "T" at the very least, cause its definitely not for kids.

I could see a chapter fitting though, Springtrap would fit decently well due to his design being so... unnerving, and also that he is basically the main antagonist of the series, making him the best candidate out of all the animatronics, besides Trickster broke the standards already for what fits and what doesnt, with his colorful design.

One thing though would be how he would attack, since he doesnt really have a weapon and punching wouldnt really work, theres that concept of him using an axe and based on his lore of a animatronic possessed by a serial killer, i guess it would fit.

1 … 8 9 10 11 12 … 19
