After the kneejerk reactions thing I just can't take BHVR tagged responses seriously anymore. It's like gaslighting lol

I just want them to admit that they initially intended for the match making incentives to help make up for the BP removal from BBQ and WGLF, but they're just denying any correlation and being passive aggressive to anyone who even tries to suggest them to bring back the BP bonus for those perks. Its unprofessional and just silly. Just admit that you changed your minds instead of blatantly lying when we have documented proof of BHVR saying something different awhile ago.

I'd be interested to see where we said that. As all our official communications has had MMI standing on their own and clearly explaining why we're using them...and there's no mention of replacements for bonus perks at all.

In the initial perk update post.

I understand that it was mentioned that the grind would be reduced by 75% and that you guys didn't want BP to be why perks are picked. However, brining up MM incentives in the context of people potentially getting upset over the BP loss makes people associate the BP loss with the incentives. If both of them have absolutely nothing to do with each other, bringing it up here sends the wrong message, a message that way more people than I received.

  • It was fun at first, then it got to a point for me where it just felt embarrassing to use. It took out the best part of chases: the input from both sides in a chase. If I press E to make it to a vault or pallet, the killer can't do anything about it and it just feels unfun.

They are not replacements for the bonus BP on BBQ/WGLF - they're purely there for matchmaking, there's nothing hidden about "making up for something" in the slightest.

You guys stated that the matchmaking incentive will provide additional BP to help the BBQ BP removal. Brining up the matchmaking incentive in the context of people being upset about the BBQ nerf makes OPs conclusion valid. Is that now retracted since apparently its not connected at all?

  • One of the BHVR people said they wouldn't do that since the BP incentive was only for queues. Sucks that they went back on their word about part of the purpose for the incentive but oh well.

You're disrespectful, must be new or a bad liar in case you actually believe SC is GOOD and not a joke?

If the loop becomes nearly useless when the killer uses their power,Artist,Blight & Oni curving then it's anti looping.

Please,I know you are passionate about winning as the killer always,do try however to leave the discussion to experienced players, thank you, friend!

Also if you read 10% of the text and comment is quite disrespectful,I read your entire post and recall everything but you can barrely recall mine and throw words in my mouth ON top of beign a disrespectful and condescending individual.

2.500 hours for me. But okay, how was SC bad? Give me reasons and Ill debunk each one.

Anti loop is when a killer can completely negate any sort of mindgame and can shut down loops with ease. So Clown, Nemesis, Artisit. Not Bubba, Billy, Legion, Wraith, etc. If you look at killers like Wraith and scream "Anti loop", you're probably not as experienced as you think.

Oh dear, its the "You don't agree with all killer mains being terrible people? Must be a killer main." argument. Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night. Make sure to check your closet and under your bed before you sleep, killer mains might be there.

The points I decided to tackle were the ones I thought to be more simple to address. However, if someone disagreeing with you is "disrespectful and condescending", I saved myself the trouble to responding to every point.

Not really, if other option doesn't exist, people gonna play the game anyway.

I'm pretty sure killer AFK rate is much lower than killer DC rate with free DC.

People will NOT play the game, trust me. They will absolutely dig in their heels and not play the game.

  • I could see it. Make a "Crippled" status effect and killers cant use M2 abilities for 7 seconds after the stun or something. It would hurt the right killers like Nurse and Blight the most while weaker, m1 killers wont really be too bothered.

the two things are not connected at all...matchmaking incentives are for assisting with matchmaking times for players, it's not to do with the bonus BP that was removed from those two perks

You guys stated that the matchmaking incentive will provide additional BP to help the BBQ BP removal. Brining up the matchmaking incentive in the context of people being upset about the BBQ nerf makes Mr.Peanutbutters question completely valid. The problems are:

DS was changed so many times it's probably the most bipolar perk ever.

DH was an overrated exhaustion perks but was the only RELIABLE one as any other exhaustion perk was bad or required an activation factor.

Balanced Landing was the only contender until, you guessed,it was nerfed.

DH didn't require a nerf,it required competition, once killers were called on their BS that this perk was op they quickly blame nerf motivation for overusage, which I stated and you can deduce it;s because of lack of competitivness.

SC wasn't good for SoloQ,if you use it,please don't queque as a solo, you'll ruin the experience for others,it's the worst healing perk in the game after healing went from 14 to 16 and mangled added slowed healing progress.

SC should be considered bannable for idling or AFK,that's how bad of a perk it is.

The BT destruction is nothing compared to the lackluster of anti tunneling nerfs, just admit developers, baby killers need to tunnel to vent frustration and you've got skins to sell.

Add 85% of killers as I stated previously in other posts that any anti looping killer should be considered on the nerfing chain.

They were designed with 2016 map designed in mind but were brought after 2019.

Doctor,Billy,Wraith,Sadako,Oni,Huntress,Artist,Legion,Clown,Demo,Spirit,Hag,Trickster,Deathslinger,Bubba,Plague and a few others which I don't think their anti looping is that big of an issue.

These killers have very strong anti looping abilities which created the SHIFT + W meta, which was nerfed,a meta isn't born out of boredom but necessity.

If my only defence against killers is negated by 90% of killers then I must buy time as going down is not an IF question but WHEN and when my precious time is made meaningless by broken slowdown perks which seem to have no shortage, then my freaking killer main friend, the game's not anymore survivor sided but your killer sided.

And this has been a question you should have asked yourself,in a game where teamwork is king, should communication and teamwork be absent?

If said teamwork is the only thing to be able to win and even then not beign foulproof then what's a player not in a SWF supposed to think before clicking "Play as a Survivor"

This is a fact killers mains have to put in their brains, game's has been killer sided since 2019,but the devs have handed you kills on a silver plate that whenever one of your 25 games is missing with kills, you go ballistic.

I kid you not,I could ask the killer mains what game's they've played and they recite the bad ones like it's a poem.

DH was extremely good. If you say otherwise, you're either lying or newer to the game.

Old BL was also extremely broken with how horribly balanced a lot of maps were back then. Literal infinites. Again, if you say otherwise, you're either lying or you're newer to the game.

SC is actually a very good solo queue perk if used correctly. If someone needs to go save yet everyone is injured and no ones around, you gotta commit and go for it.

Also I don't think you quite understand what "Anti-loop" is since half of the killers you mentioned don't have anti-loop.

I promise, killer mains are not out to get you like the boogeymen you think they are.

Maybe a harsher penalty for DCing or suiciding on the first hook?

People will just tab out and wait to die. Can't force people to participate in a match that they don't want to play.

  • I don't understand, why didn't any of those survivors just break line of sight and counter her? That's what I've been told numerous times to do.

  • Average Pinhead game

  • Okay the perk got nerfed. Can we please stop pretending that "wait it out lol" is a viable solution to dead harding for distance?

Or coded well to begin with.

DbD was never expected to have the lifespan it has, and as a result it's a house built on sand (spaghetti code).

At some point I hope the whole thing is rebuilt from the ground up.

Their prolonged lifespan is because they have no real competition. They can get away with lying to their entire player base and making the grind worse.

  • Huntress, Pinhead, Nemesis. Ill take Nurse all day over those 3.

  • @Rydog said:

I dunno if the patch has been out for long enough to determine whether it is worse, but it definitely feels worse, because they took away things that were previously greasing the BP wheels -- and there's no way to not make that feel like a penalty, even if they add other positive incentives in. ~48 hours out from the patch, one of those incentives is now turned off, so it feels like they're just taking away all the nice things.

BHVR is consistently deficient when it comes to analyzing the human component of how a change feels vs. what it accomplishes, vis a vis whatever game analytics and numbers they are looking at. For example, back when they maintained the stance that "Object of Obsession is fine, because our stats say that most survivors who bring it in don't escape." Well, that's great, but it still didn't feel fine. They tend to make changes like this VERY robotically.

I also think they've been disingenuous with how they have framed their intentions around the grind. It's two steps forward, one step back in terms of making it seem like a good set of changes (and in some ways I think it is). But they've sort of just rearranged the deck chairs so that the grind is mostly just the same as before, but a little different. My assumption is that they are too scareded to actually just reduce a lot of the grinds and costs across the board because it will impact their metrics or whatever nonsense, but they refuse to just give us some straight talk about what their goals are here as a business. I'm of the opinion that they should just be really generous about handing things out for free, and making it much easier, with no strings attached and no "we're adding X, buuuuuuut we're taking Y away."

Just give us everything. Make it easier, full stop, no downsides. Increase all normal everyday BP gains by like 100%, make everything cost less in the bloodwebs, knock the prestige rollover down to level 20 instead of level 50. Who cares? It would be a good time for everyone.

If the incentive isn't an always active thing to switch sides for BP, then its overall worse. That's half of earned BP.

  • @CluelessWanderer said:

It's BHVR logic. They're reducing the grind by making the grind endless.

Cutting earned BP in half = Grind reduction.

They haven't gone back on their word, they have to fix an issue as it wasn't working. I'm sure they will give everyone bonus bloodpoints as a reward for patience.

BHVR said in another post that the incentive was only ever to fix queue problems and that it was never going to be an always active thing. They also have no plans for double BP during this time or anything.

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3078979#Comment_3078979

it was actually nothing to do with too much BP, it had a major effect on matchmaking times, which is why the decision to kill switch it was made.

There are no plans for double BP for this, this feature was only ever meant to help with queue times for specific sections when it was needed - it was not meant to be the 100% all the time either, that was not working as intended.

Didn't you guys say that the incentives were there to help with the grind in the absence of BBQ and WGLF? Since when is it now only for helping queue times? The grind is actually much worse now.

  • Probably Yui or Dwight. I feel like they might make Dwight gay to complete the ship, but I feel like Yui is a good choice.

  • Just want to say that I love your artwork so much! :)

  • Killers would feel better if the nerf was something substantial, but its really anything but. Its Clown all over again. They meant to buff Clown and they overall made him weaker. They meant to nerf DH and it overall became stronger.

I legitimately feel so bad for them. Its demoralizing.

  • If the game removed SWF, the game would die very quickly.

  • Im enjoying the game still, but sometimes a few killers make me want to just suicide on hook. I'm sorry to anyone who plays these killers, but Pinhead, Huntress, and Nemesis are so boring to me that its hard to stay engaged, nothing wrong with playing them tho. Overall I still love the game, but everyone is going to have things in games that they don't like, its just how it is for games that have so many characters and perks.

But no, that was really kind of you. As someone who has struggled with their mental health in various ways over my life time, I can say video games have been an escape for me. But, it's what you bring to the table and make it. I've seen people be gross and negative with Stardew Valley. Probably one of the most wholesome games of all time, and yet they still managed it.

I agree completely. Video games are my way to have my alone time and escape my hectic life. Sometimes I come home mad, but saving people on DBD makes me feel so much better. It also makes me feel better knowing I might've had a chance of making someone's night better

  • Thank you guys for the kind words!

I figured he wouldn't bite, but it definitely would've hung over my head if I didn't try.

  • @BadZilla said:

Why is this Otz worshipped in this community?

Yeah, I usually don't like content creators put on pedestals in gaming communities, but Otz is one of the few big streamers for DBD that is actually wholesome and has fair criticisms and concerns for both sides. He's had a large, healthy footprint in the community and not many content creators in DBD can say that.

  • Dang, I saw so many people on here yesterday say that Otz is a killer main who only thinks about killer players. So why would he show how overnerfed DS got to his huge audience? Something isn't adding up.... Were bitter survivor mains jumping to conclusions because "killer bad"?

No, surely Otz is just covering up his killer sided views to look good. /s

  • @noctis129 said:

This depends on how often a survivor is expected to escape.

I escape over half my matches. I should only be escaping about 20% of the time.

There is a misconception that killers are toxic. Ive played killer consistently before but I am survivor main.

Survivors are the real toxic players hiding in sheep's clothing making accusations that killers are toxic.

It is also a myth that there are equal number of toxicity from both survivor and killer.

U take 100 killers and 100 survivors, it's the survivors that will be more toxic. It's just how the game is. I like to bully the killer myself and trash talk the killer to Oblivion. Why? Cuz it's fun.

Killers at least try to follow the rulebook made by survivors. Many killers refuse to camp, tunnel, mori, or even use NOED and such.

With survivors, there's no such thing. They have no rulebook and thus, have no Honor, but they got the biggest mouth. And the game caters to them.

Killers are the real victims. Survivors are the real bullies This is why ppl don't want to play killer.

I love how the response I keep seeing is "well there's toxic killers as well. Both sides have toxic people." Which just shows they didn't read your post. Yeah but which side is more toxic? I've mostly switched over to survivor since 2022 started(killer sucks right now) and I can't believe some of the stuff I see. Yes, there's 4 times the amount of survivors than killers, but I see maybe 1 toxic killer out of 10 games and I see numerous toxic survivors throughout those 10 games. I'm usually apologizing to the killer on my teams behalf, I've actually made a lot of steam friends from the killers because of it lol.

  • The constant battle of me not wanting to lose or get bullied and running meta perks but then making the game unfun for survivors when I run what I do. I can't feel good about winning when it's stomp after stomp, yet if I try running what I want that's fun, I cant keep with 16 meta perks. It's just poor game balance, something I hope is a little better after this update.

  • No. Don't let nostalgia take over, the game was not in a good state at all back then. Double pallets, shack having two windows, no medium vaults, no entity block, no bloodlust, instant full heals, 60 second gens, instant blinds, BNP completing gens instantly, hatch stand offs, and sabo permanently breaking hooks. The game would die within days if the current community played it.

  • @JudithMorel said:

Sometimes yes, majority of the time he reminds me of Scott & Tru3talent with their very obvious killer sided opinions.

Name one opinion that Otz or Scott has had that has been completely killer sided with no thought at all about if its fair for survivors. Tru3 is fair game, there's a reason not many people like him, but Otz and Scott are definitely not like that.

  • Used to main Clown back when he could disable exhaustion perks, but they nerfed that part of him and he overall became worse because of it. Went over to Legion and haven't looked back.

  • I really enjoy the killer, but nightfall hurts my eyes really bad. Im getting old.

  • @lemonsway said:

Another gigantic bug affecting killers... what a shame. At least it's kill switched, we wouldn't want sabo squads sending killers to coal tower and forcing the killer to only have basement hooks now would we. Then we'd have to punish killers if they decided to DC or be toxic if they managed to slug...That being said, when are we KILLSWITCHING Nurse for making every other killer weak? When are we killswitching Garden of Joy?

    You good bro?

  • It will still be very effective against almost all killer M2 powers except like Legion and Deathslinger. Reacting to M1 will still be a thing but will give you even more distance now. Also pallets will still be very suspect because if they use it to a pallet and spam space, it just depends which action comes first, the drop or the M1 hit. I doubt that much will change when it comes to those interactions.

  • @DY86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3020746#Comment_3020746

Not really, its still the same ?? Even in swf, cause a coordinated team will take the extra hit endurance or not. If my bud is dead on hook and Im not, Ill even get hooked in his place, just so the pressure is minimized.

and like I said, its not worse to go from Healthy to injured than injured to deep. Cause u see, at the end of the day theyll have to heal all the same.

And ur not considering that If the healthy person is the better chaser it’ll be no problem being injured during the chase (for resilience reasons). Now, having the guy with the toolbox and the gen oriented perks being chased is a waste of time

Dude like 99% of the community says this perk is busted, even the biggest streamers who try to be down the middle. If you still think it's bad then idk what to tell you.

  • To be fair, a single CoH is still game changing. They have yet to actually do anything substantial about why the perk is good.

  • @BenZ0 said:

  • @DY86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3019832#Comment_3019832

because it isnt powerful, a hit is a hit. At the end of the bodyblock animation whoever blocked will be one hit away from the dying state. So how is that “riskier” ?

and again 80 seconds means nothing if u cant do any conspicuous actions. Its 80 secs ur not helping the team. Thats almost a whole gen. And for what? To take a hit for someone else? Thats not effective. Thats not powerful, thats bad time management

I literally already addressed that in my post. For solo queue then yeah it's going to be bad, but you can't judge a perk from that. In a coordinated team, that extra hit will be very crucial. It's riskier because going from healthy to injured is worse than going from injured to deep wounded. You just have to mend for a short time for the trade off that your teammate gets away and makes it to another loop.

  • It's good. The gen speed is whatever, I'm sure they added that for the stupid achievement. The gate speed is actually really clutch. If you time the opening right, you can escape a lot more frequently. 50% faster is actually really fast.

  • @DY86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3017087#Comment_3017087

so what is the problem? Cant a healthy surv bodyblock too? Dont survs with bt do that as well? How is that different?

I don’t understand what the complaint is here

A healthier survivor doing it is riskier for them because they're going from healthy to injured. The injured guy with OTR just has to mend after its all done. They can do that with BT, but they only have 12 seconds to set up an effective body block. Someone with OTR, with EIGHTY SECONDS of protection, can set up a place where they stand in a doorway and completely block the killer.

IDK how you can't see how that's so powerful.

  • @DY86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/329872/off-the-record-bodyblocking

It ends if u do any conspicuous actions. So no. If they bodyblock u hit them.

the killers cooldown for m1s has been reduced and so has the speed boost for survivors who’ve been hit.

Doesn't matter, that bodyblock hit is all they need to derail the killers momentum. Even with the shortened cooldown and speed boost, they will most likely make it to the next pallet.

  • Keep in mind that Off The Record isnt staying as it is. Otz just told them that its "a massive issue" and they will definitely listen to him.

  • If you're labeling survivors completing the gens too fast as "genrushing" instead of evaluating your own gameplay, those 10 extra seconds wont matter.

  • Bubba mains eating good right now

  • @Nathan13 said:

Yeah that makes no sense, 3 second duration??? That’s not gonna do anything against a Nurse.

Nurse already didn't care about a 5 second stun, so that hardly matters.

  • Yes they do. Gen regression stacks when combined with perks or add ons.

  • @Aneurysm said:

I think new version could be decent against nurse, blight, killers who only have a small window to hit you with their power etc

and probably mostly useless against m1 killers which I'm also fine with

Its perfect. It works against the killers it needs to work against.

1 2 3 4 … 8
