  • Here's the official news article be BHVR about prestige and progression, if it'll help

    https://deadbydaylight.com/news/prestige-progression

    6. Can I still find perk tiers in the bloodweb?

    7. Do non teachables always have to be earned through the bloodweb for each tier?

My understanding here is the only perks that will still need Bloodwebs are the generic perks and perk tiers not unlocked by prestiging. So if you've only prestiged Dwight once, other survivors will still need to level bloodwebs for tiers 2 and 3 of his teachables and for perks like Spine Chill or Inner Healing.

    8. If you prestige do you still keep the perks you had?

My understanding is nothing is lost upon prestiging. You keep everything you have and start over levelling bloodwebs at level 1.

  • Sadako can probably be helped by reworking and leaning more into the Condemned mechanic. Make it easier to max out, though that'll likely require needing to change what you get for maxing out since an easily obtained quickie mori is a bit much to get easily. Maybe make it a Death Hook thing like with Pyramid Head.

  • I think I can appreciate the logic up to a point.

Original Technician had no regression but whether or not the Killer got an alert was RNG.

Current Technician makes the noise alert more consistent, but i think we can mostly agree there has to be something to offset the penalty-free failure, given how abuseable that would be for non-beginners. Enter the increased regression.

The regression probably is too much, I don't use the perk enough to know, but I can at least see why it's there.

The consensus, on this forum at least, is that Twins desperately need buffs.

My understanding had been it's less buffs in general and more Quality of Life fixes so they feel less clunky.

That would equate to a buff, yes, but the intent is to make them feel better to play rather than actually strengthening them because they're weak

  • I'm inclined to agree on the Exposed perks like Starstruck. Part of the shock and power of perks of NOED and Devour Hopeis that moment when you realize the Killer has it and can one shot you.

I'm also inclined to agree on Dissolution, as the buff warns an attentive survivor and prompts then to leave the hook, potentially robbing the perk of value.

My feeling would be a survivor is alerted to the perk's presence once its effect actually occurs.

  • I thought the consensus was they actually were pretty strong. It's why they're common in competitive matches.

  • How is Blight not illegal?

Because the politicians don't want to acknowledge the issues with Blight addiction prevalent in the Entity's realm.

How many needles do you think a Blight player discards in a single game? Too many!

Thats the 2 everyone brings up when it comes to Spine Chill.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2986733#Comment_2986733

You're welcome. I don't see too many people unable to use GF or Myers at high ranks against the Ultimate Vault build.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2987529#Comment_2987529

Myers has a terror radius T2 and beyond unless youre playing SMM. Spine Chill is approx 34-36m range, Myers can start stalking around 39-40.

Yall fail to realize that if neither of these powers had at least SOME counter to it, it would be completely OP. You would never see any other killers at high rank. This isn't an OP perk like Dead Hard that has been frustrating killers and cheating people out of hits and downs for literal years. If Spine Chill gave you the direction like Premonition, then it would be OP as hell. How often do you actually see Spine Chill? Much less than Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, or Iron Will.

My point is you're saying they should remove Stealth killers one shot ability but only one, technically* two Stealth killers inherently even have one shot abilities, so it comes off as a weak argument since that's not "you need Spine Chill vs Stealth Killers" so much as "You need Spine Chill vs Ghost Face".

    * I say "technically" since Myers is typically at his least stealthy when his one shot ability is active.

  • @ihateboons said:

Remove Stealth killers one shot ability then. Don't harp about nerfing something without balancing it. So what's your balance idea?

You counter Spine Chill by moonwalking and strafing. Its not that hard to counter at all.

Killers legit want ez 4k's every game with no challenge still to this day. DH? I totally understand disliking that 2nd chance get out of jail free card. But Spine Chill? They already tried to nerf it a long with premonition. it was a ######### show lol

Not counting perks or addons, which stealth killers have one shot ability other than Ghost Face and, technically, Shape (technically as his one shot isn't directly tied to his Stealth)?

  • How about reduced detection distance when a killer is Undetectable? An Undetectable Killer doesn't trigger Spine Chill until closer than a detectable Killer would.

Still offers the benefit of Spine Chill without totally negating a Stealth Killer's main asset.

  • @Tac0sz said:

The moment you get hooked it starts going down, issue has nothing to do with being unhooked with a killer nearby.

If that is true then yeah, Resurgence needs to be changed. Having it hampered due to Hemorrhage is one thing, having it negated entirely without even a chance to use it is something else entirely.

  • If it were going to be a cosmetic out would be a bloody "I got this character to Prestige III and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" T-shirt.

  • I'm in the Mountain Time Zone in the U.S. and for me Rituals generate at 6 p.m. That makes it 5 p.m. Pacific Time and 8 p.m. Eastern Time.

Ding ding ding and we have a winner immediately.

Case of answering your own question XD

I did say it was a dumb question. :D

I was mostly guessing on what seemed like the most likely abbreviation.

  • Maybe an alternate version of Dark Devotion.

Activate it by standing still, once active you become Undetectable but your Terror Radius stays where it is for X/Y/Z seconds after you start moving again.

Gives you Undetectable but discourages camping as it doesn't work if your stay put like you do now

  • Dumb Question: What does ADS stand for in this context?

    Aim Down Sights?

    words- read again.

it is totally holding someone hostage if you slug them and make them wait out the entire bleed time.

cool though that you think thats ok. as if I should be surprised.

    Except it isn't.

It's not okay, but for the purposes of this conversation the devs' definition of holding the game hostage is creating a situation in which the game can not end by any means.

In other words it's not considered holding the game hostage if you have a means to be freed from captivity. In this instance, that means is bleeding out and dying.

Ever since the announcement of the upcoming change to the prestige system I have seen a massive increase seeing survivors and killers wearing bloody cosmetics. I'm of course not complaining about it, it makes me happy that I'm not alone in trying to prestige for the reduction of the grind in future chapters.

Seeing killers and survivors covered in blood who I have not fully prestiged makes me want to level up that character next.

I really wanted to write this post to ask who have you p3 already? For survivor and or killer.

For survivors it's: Dwight, Meg, David, Steve and Cheryl.

For killers I'm actually grandfathering myself in with 11 killers as it would be far more easy to focus on leveling up killers I don't play but use their perks than starting over on my all perked mains. But I've gotten bubba and onyro p3 now.

I don't have anybody prestiged and I have no plans for doing so at all until after the new prestige system is in effect. No point to doing so beforehand, in my opinion, since waiting until after means I lose nothing in the process.

For now I'm currently working on getting all Survivors to level 50 (all Killers already are) so when prestige does come, I'll have every perk available on every character, even if just in yellow.

From there I may perk out David and Leatherface to take advantage of the planned catch-up mechanic so everyone will have Tier 3 We're Gonna Live Forever and Barbecue & Chili.

  • Why are 'deal' and 'joke' banned words?

Because the profanity filter's whole deal is that it's a joke.

  • A simple buff imo would be all the traps start out active. There's still RNG location-wise, but an active trap in a random spot is potentially more useful than an inactive trap in a random spot, so it adds some danger to unwary survivors right out the gate.

  • Why 4% in someones face?

    Because I can!

  • @Unicorn said:

    Please list them below. ๐Ÿ’œ

I've been using a healing build of Empathic Connection, Empathy, Autodidact, and Renewal. You can swap the last two to your liking, but the ease of getting heals helps with Renewal value and Autodidact stacks. I've also used Bite the Bullet and Botany Knowledge.

The key is the Empathy combo, since it basically acts as a constant Aftercare, meaning even against Killers who limit healing like Plague you can get some value.

  • @Viskod said:

I suggested this very thing in the last whiny thread about No Mither.

If you're just exposed the killer won't know until they hit you the first time, you don't automatically start the match punishing the rest of your party should the Killer bring Thanataphobia, and people could heal you to "healthy" after you've been unhooked to help avoid that penalty, but you still just go down in one hit no matter what.

I've thought the same, permanent Exposed in exchange for the self-pickup and injured sound/blood decrease, though I did just think of something I hadn't seen mentioned before. What about Special Attacks that don't down Exposed survivors? Should those still be allowed to down in one hit or should the normal rules apply?

An alternative idea I thought of:

Whenever to enter the Injured State, you become Broken for X/Y/Z seconds, while broken your grunts if pain are reduced, you leave no blood, and you can pick yourself up from the Dying State. These bonuses also apply if you are rendered Broken by any means.

You play normally, but get stuck in a state where you can't heal for however long.

  • My general feeling for Dead Hard is either lower or remove the Dead Hard for Distance aspect or grant it if, and only if, you actually dodge an attack with it.

I've always thought the I-Frames are the premise of the perk, given its description is that you know how to take a beating. The distance part of it seems to be what's most heavily abused/not used as intended, so restricting or removing it, or granting it only when the perk is used as intended seems the simplest way to go about things.

It may retain the "third health state" aspect, but in this sense you'd actually have to earn it since, in either case, getting value requires using it at the right time.

  • Something I always wonder, does anyone posting these "delete X from the game" threads honestly expect the X to actually be deleted?

  • They don't bother me, personally. Mostly because I've adapted my playstyle to take advantage of them.

I don't like tunneling in general so DS isn't typically an issue outside of those times where you unwittingly get them on the tail end of their timer and if that happens, and you weren't pressuring them otherwise, it means they spent that time doing nothing.

If someone unhooks in front of me I'll take the hit on the unhooked. If they hedge BT, I chase them off and force them to mend. If they don't, the slug builds pressure while I change to the unhooker.

I don't slug often otherwise, so I don't run into Unbreakable often or, if I do, I don't recognize it. That said in the above scenario I can also potentially fleece their Unbreakable early.

  • Maybe, as an alternative option, you can do something like how the Killers have addons that reflect their teachable perks. Have Survivor specific item addons that can give that Survivor a boost when using that item. Some rough examples could be a Map addon for Tapp that adds things to it a la Detective's Hunch, or an addon for Dwight that makes a toolbox more efficient when repairing a gen with another Survivor, a Key addon for Claudette specifically for tracking injured teammates, and so on?

  • Some perks to consider with Doctor would be:

Whispers - When it's lit up you know someone is close by to hit with Static Blast and, as mentioned by @BenOfMilam , if you don't hit you know to check lockers

Iron Maiden - Hiding in lockers is a way to avoid Static Blast, but this makes sure that if they do, you know it. Even if you can't get to the survivor in time to one shot, you get information.

Distressing- The Doctor benefits from a bigger Terror Radius, so what is normally a downside for Distressing becomes valuable for the Doctor.

Starstruck - Since Doctor is an M1 killer who benefits from a big TR, Starstruck is a good fit for his powers.

You can also use other perks in conjuction with an Impossible Skillcheck build.

Huntress' Lullaby - Soundless skill checks that can appear anywhere.

Unnerving Presence - Smaller skill checks that can appear anywhere.

Merciless Storm - Rapid Fire skill checks that can appear anywhere.

While Undetectable perks are not usually a choice for the Doctor since he uses his terror radius, once I do find fun to use regardless is Dark Devotion. This is more "for fun" than "for the win", but if they haven't changed it you can use Static Blast when the Obsession has the terror radius and Blast anyone around them regardless of your location.

Also, I don't think it's been mentioned yet: Keep an eye out for your illusionary Doctors. They will always spawn facing a Survivor, though not always level with them. If can give an idea what direction to look in.

  • @ad19970 said:

Why would people not break the totem? The idea here is that if you have such a problem with Boons, you can equip this perk to have the option to break boon totems.

Adding that option to the basekit would just wreck boon perks, even CoH. The perk could probably need another effect though.

NOED would likely be the main reason to want to preserve Totems on the field, as well as similar perks like Plaything.

  • @Mister_xD said:

They already created the Perk, so making is basekit is out of the question now.

Instead i think the Perk needs to be changed to have another effect, with the totem breaking only being a secondary bonus, so you get to have usage from the Perk no matter what.

It does give aura reading if a survivor was in the Boon's range when you snuffed it

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    No.

The perk is already overkill and completely destroys 3 already weak perks.

The problem with boons is specifically CoH.

At the same time of you're going to encounter a Boon, it's most likely going to be Circle of Healing.

  • An idea: What if the Alchemist Ring specifically dropped Blight to 4.4, like Hillbilly's fast chainsaw addon?

  • The Alchemist Ring seems to be the big one, from my understanding.

I've only recently tried Blight more (he wound up my most perked out killer after all the Bloodwebs took to get Barbecue & Chili on him...) and haven't tried the Ring yet, so that's just secondhand knowledge.

I did see a suggestion of having the Alchemist Ring speed up regaining charges rather than granting them all at once. Though I wonder if that wouldn't amount to the same thing.

  • I usually don't outright farm unless someone proves a One-Down Wuss and disconnects within the first few minutes or the moment they go down.

Otherwise my rule is play seriously until I've gotten everyone hooked 1-2 times and go from there. I'll be more farmy of there's cakes or Streamers, or if I was just doing a daily I just got.

  • I always feel like the odd man out in these threads because I find Killer generally the less stressful role to play. Or, perhaps, it's more accurate to say I play Survivor much more seriously than Killer.

That said, I do sometimes feel more of a "dread", for lack of a better word, to play Killer than to play Survivor.

I mostly like doing it during events like the Bloodhunts since (a) even a bad game can become worthwhile, and (b) with people playing killer to be sweaty griefers during events, I can at least be sure one person isn't.

  • Still the Nurse is made slower because her power is so mobility focused.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Because he is not range killer. Except Hag, all 110% killers have range powers.

Personally Billy's mobility is better for me.

Some mobility killers have 110 as well. Along with Hag there's Spirit and Nurse.

  • @The_first_ghost said:

I think an easy way to nerf dead hard is make it so killers can still injure survivors if they hit them because I have had it multiple times where I hit them but they dead hard so it doesnt count. Just an idea I thought I should share. (This is my first post so go easy on me.)

My issue with a change like this is that the I-Frames are the premise of the perk, while it's the distancing that sees the most abuse by players.

My thought, though I concede I have no idea if its even feasible, was you get the distance if and only if you actually dodge a hit with Dead Hard.

If the game registers an attack that would have downed you by for Dead Hard, then you also get the boost forward.

Seems like a way remove the "it rewards bad play" aspect by requiring actual timing to get proper use from

  • I don't main him but I do enjoy playing him with what I call my Stupid Build (Infectious Fight, Distressing, Dark Devotion and Barbecue and Chili)

It's always funny when Infectious actually works.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

I'm not gonna play because it's a 2x bp event and everyone sweats to hell and back.

This is exactly why I play more killer during these events. Even if I don't/ can't outright farm I can at least not be sweaty when I play.

    I figured but like

    What does it mean

Are they implying the anime glorifies and promotes it or what

There is some concern that the work's author has views on that direction. If not that then, very least, he has a very high opinion of Imperial Japan that comes through in his work, and they have their own laundry list of atrocities that modern day Japan doesn't like to acknowledge. Mostly perpetrated against its neighbors, such as Korea (hence specific mention of Jake)

I'm not very knowledgeable on the specifics but that's the gist as I understand it.

  • I assume Fascist. I assume it's not Fashion since most of the Titans are Barbie Doll Naked.

  • @xoxo1q1 said:

    * First of all, it is revealed that it was not written for a specific political purpose, but because of the social and cultural perception. And I used a translator.

I've heard that you're collaborating with attack on titan with video clips of the 6th anniversary of Devade or official Twitter. Collaboration must be a good thing for each other, but it's very unfortunate that it's with a controversial genre. There are many elements in the work that praise Japanese imperialism(kamikaze, Secretly praise their war through lines and endings), so I don't think it's good to have an agreement with this.

Also, through DBD Reaks, I learned that Jake Park is one of the characters in the collaboration costume. Korea is actually a historically damaged country that era and especially sensitive to war crimes, but a "Korean" character wears a controversial costume? Are you serious... NO WAY.

Personally, I wish Jake's clothes and collaboration would be canceled, but it will be hard. Anyway, It is good for you to collaborate with various companies but I want you to be more careful.

It occurs to me this seems less about the anime genre in general and more Attack on Titan in particular.

    @YOURFRIEND said:

I read somewhere that AoT also has strong fash themes which makes me wary of it.

The main antagonist through much of the second half is essentially a Nazi regime that's convinced its equivalent of the Jews that all the horrible stuff they say about them was actually true.

  • I liked when they did those double point dailies for a while.

  • What I'm planning at least is get everyone to P1. That way I get all the perks on all the characters, even if just at tier I.

I may do more prestiging with killers but even in thy worst case I can grind to upgrade the Tier I perks rather than grind everyone to P3.

That said, I've thing I've gathered is that when you prestige in the new system, you won't lose your inventory (so any perks and such you have aren't gone) but your character level is still reduced to 1, with the corresponding smaller bloodwebs.

I think that can help the grind as you're not levelling at 50 over and over by also not losing anything you had pre-prestige.

  • Spies From The Shadows - A solid tracking perk, even if it is reliant on map RNG.

I've also been using Renewal/Second Wind as part of a healing build and have gotten good value from it.

  • @Tranquil_Blue said:

I'm genuinely curious: are people doing this primarily to get the rewards (for having characters at P3 prior to the new system kicking in)? We know the reward won't be a cosmetic item. What do you think it will be? Will it really be worth it?

Anyhow, I'm fairly certain that many of my characters will automatically get "caught up" in the new system with at least a level or two of prestige due to the number of perks I have on them.

I'm primarily concerned with getting all the perks on my characters. Particularly my Killers. Even if it's just at tier I.

  • @RisingTron said:

As I'm sure a lot of people are doing after the Anniversary stream, I'm grinding to Prestige 3 all of my survivors. So I wanna see how many characters everyone has P3 already and how the grind is going so far them.

    Currently, I have 10 out of 30 survivors P3!

4 characters are P2 and the rest are P1, with the exception of Jonah and Ash who I have yet to Prestige at all.

Depending on what information we get in terms of a time frame for the Prestige update, I'll consider getting some killers to P3 as well. Still debating. I don't really play killer seriously enough to warrant the grind for it as well.

So how is everyone else doing with prestige?

I'm mostly planning to wait for the prestige changes to actually hit before doing anything, see how BHVR's "catch up" mechanic effects everyone. Even if the catch up doesn't put everyone at P1 or higher, once the changes are live I can then prestige without losing anything on those characters.

I may prestige David for the heck of it, but otherwise my focus will be perking out him and Bubba after getting everybody to 50.

    @OutbreakJack said:

    Killers P3: 13/26

Luckily I have P3'd a decent amount of my killers over the years. The ones I havent will get boosted to Prestige 2/3. With the exception of Cenobite. Trickster and Nurse which will just be Prestige 1. The other killers I have in limbo that arent P3 but have a decent amount of perks and way to much stuff to prestige so I just gotta wait till the new system kicks in before I start throwing points on them again.

    Survivors P3'd. Claudette, Ash, Leon.

Always seemed like a waste to Prestige survivors especially when outfits were introduced. I only P3'd Leon and Ash because their cosmetics I knew would cost real money and couldn't be bought with shards. Now Im just getting everyone to level 50 so I can just get them all to prestige 1 at least when the new system drops. I still have like 7 million BP to grind just to hit that benchmark. May go crazier when double BP week hits and shoot for P2 on some...

The new shrine system seems very interesting to. Finally an actual use for my shards outside of the rare outfit purchase. Sitting on 90k

PS: Does anyone else find it funny that in the effort to reduce the grind most of us are grinding harder than we've ever grinded before?

    That's irony for ya.

  • David and Cannibal are my priorities. Assuming We're Gonna Live Forever and Barbecue and Chili retain their point bonus effects I'll be able to have them at Tier III whoever i play.

Beyond that my goal is get anyone not already at 50 to 50. This is mostly just my non-main survivors.

That way I can have every perk on everyone at tier I, at least.
