Oh I already removed it :D I don't need to use it every game, obviously, but some games where the killer is extra toxic, which im sure you're aware of what that's like.. You might be one of them, it's needed.
Are you suggesting that any killer who makes you use DS (is tunneling or tunnels) is toxic?

Oh I never said I NEED it to survive. I'm saying the increasing number of toxic killers makes the perk a staple in the game.
"With all the TOXIC killers in this game, this is a STAPLE perk, and it is NEEDED..."
This here suggests otherwise. So why exactly do you "need" it?
And no, as someone who also plays a lot of survivor you most certainly do not need this perk. I didn't even run it before it got nerfed.
-
Idk, he works well with quite a few
For the best though? I would use tinkerer, infectious, pop, and discordance
Tinkerer to pop your power if a generator gets a little close to being done, infectious to help snowball pressure if needed and just for the information, pop for the slowdown, and discordance for when you can pop blood fury and gun it to a generator that needs to be freed of t he survivors.
-
If you need a perk to play as survivor, then you should probably improve your gameplay.

I've stated numerous times in the past survivors should have to do something before starting gens, gen tapping isn't broken because perks like PGTW exist or thrilling tremors, ruin, corrupt, dragons grip etc. Gen tapping doesn't progress the gen it just stops it from regressing if no ruin is in play , I can agree gens are broken but it's ridiculous to blame gen tapping and want it nerfed before the gen itself isn't that ignoring the elephant in the room?
I don't completely blame gen tapping as the sole reason for gens "being done too quickly" as many people say. I honestly think gen speeds are fine, it's map design and weak killers that are the problem.
Survivors having to do something before working on generators would really buff the already powerful killers a little too much imo; depending on what it is at least.

@The_Krapper said:
Weren't you the one who wanted gen tapping nerfed and ruin to be basekit?
To be fair the gen tapping suggestion is a very valid one.
Gen tapping is pretty annoying and the base regression for killers is far too low as well as borderline useless. It shouldn't be this way. If you are the killer and you find survivors almost done on a generator so you slap one of them, scaring another to run around, and then you kick the gen you will not get much done if anything at all. You waste time by kicking generators but it can easily be undone in less than a second, and it doesn't even regress that much unless it sits there for a minute untouched, which hardly ever happens.
Like I have said, the idea of "kickstarting" a generator should totally go through and would have my full support.
-
It's not as bad as I thought it would be aside from the fact that it may be encouraging very unhealthy saves normally, but we will have to wait a while to figure that out.

I believe the point is that with map seeding you could objectively pick the most balanced versions of each map, in addition to being able to perpetuate the map between matches so that all factors remain equal but player skill.
People would just choose the map seed that is most favorable to them.
-
Was pretty disturbed for a few seconds after reading that title lol

I played last night and can confirm, there are actually good sports around the lower ranks. They actually COMPLIMENTED me like wth man. It is pretty uncommon for them to actually praise me for slaughtering them, usually I get death threats and the classic "Get a fricking life you absolute trash killer main".
There were only two matches where the survivors were salty, at their teammates. One guy was just going AFK randomly but then would move once I started to chase her. The other game, the survivors were just incompetent and did not go for a save and let one person die while the other person went to struggle.
-
I don't think so, even with double bloodpoints (you aren't always going to get full stacks either) the grind is still incredibly high. It does add up overtime, but I don't really think it is a band-aid fix since this issue is pretty huge.
-
Really sad that we have to make such a big deal out of such menial things for BHVR to take action. I mean we were without colorblind settings for YEARS and they only just got them in a few patches ago. It is so small too, like is it really so hard to add colorblind settings in your game? Apparently not I guess, after all they were "working on it for m o n t h s".

@Momentosis said:
That's just addons in general. LIke, 90% of them suck.
Same with Ghostface. All you need are his cooldown addons. Literally anything else is useless.
Even with ghostface tho, he is just an m1 killer.
-
He does have counterplay, such as running around very irregular structures and dropping pallets a little earlier. After he uses his lethal rush, you have a buffer of time to run away before he gets his power back and he has a little stun time of 2.5 seconds to help with this. He is definitely not OP and a very well designed killer with counterplay unlike spirit.
-

He's one of the best performing killers so he definitely doesn't need buffs.
What he does need is a little fix so survivors know exactly how long they're stunned when getting shocked. The scream animation lasts about a second, but the stun lasts around three, leading to a ton of situations where I'm mashing my face into a window without vaulting it. That needs to be clarified better.
He is actually very mediocre against good survivors.
And there is an indicator that shows you how long the stun lasts (2.5 seconds), it shows up at the bottom right of your screen when you are hit with shock therapy.

Its a meme perk for meme builds, doesnt work with Pop and has an absurd cooldown...
If it worked with pop that would be op.
-
That could easily be abused to the advantage of survivors. If they could just give each other hook states they would likely end up making it so that you 12 hook everyone or hook them all equally. It also still doesn't solve tunneling because the killer would just hook that survivor again and again, sure they might still end up escaping if they are lucky, but it would still be very boring.

=D
Because it is fine and not an exploit?

I think it was too strong originally, but I feel 45 seconds is not enough. 60 seconds seems reasonable.

I'm not looking for it to be op, but the skill checks definitely need to be increased. In it's current state you can easily heal more than one survivor and never get a skill check.
That would probably still make it too strong. With an increased skill check chance to a perk that has the ability to almost instantly heal survivors would be way too powerful.
-
@SweetTerror said:
Autodidact is fine as it is, but it should definitely increase skill checks more often than it does though.
That would make it op.
-
@GannTM said:
No I love current Autodidact. It’s fun to use and is very underrated. It can maybe use some buffs but not a full on rework.
It is based around RNG though, and most of the time it sucks since RNG in this game is pretty bad. If you buff it, then it would be incredibly powerful since survivors could just spend little time healing and more time on gens.
-
Buffing the amount of skillchecks you get with it would make it OP. It is terribly designed because it is based off of RNG.
-
@LilacandGooseberries said:
It's lazy gameplay honestly :/ All they do is hook and stand and get a ton of points. They don't bother playing the game. When the killers are actually good it's a lot of fun and chances are we all end up dying anyways lol
They don't get a lot of points. What you do is work on generators and get as far as you can unless you have BT.

One of my most notable matches was when I played against a legacy duo as Ghostface and beat them. They had names that were obviously intended for provoking the killer. I was really surprised to get legacy players in my lobby (I'm console) so I threw on some bps when I feel like most would've thrown on a mori. It was almost like some sort of power move. Anyways they played really predictably at the start. Probably thought I was actually a baby killer. In the end it was a fun match. Lots of outplays from both sides. I ended up getting the 4k. 10/10 would vs again. Just too bad they don't like killers for whatever reason LOL.
Edit: Removed the names for the naming and shaming rule....forgot about that lol.
They probably just hacked the legacy skins, most people usually do.
-
A lot, and then they will leave almost immediately after going against a few black op squads or basement bubba's.

Wouldn't really say that, I feel that he has dropped quite a bit because his addons are pretty wack.

Call me selfish, but if the Billy nerf was the price it took to get more killer variety in all of my survivor matches, then so be it.
That just means there will be more spirits. And I would rather face multiple billys.

it was 100% unnecessary... but that doesnt change it not doing anything.
Addons just dont apply to a killer's strength. Are most of his terrible now, yes, does that make his basekit worse? no
That still nerfs him as a whole, he needs better addons.

Lol you sound like a no life who has 10k hours but never bothered getting good. Why would you when you can abuse this cheese.
Press button to find survivors.
Chase poorly, lose survivor, find survivor because of doc clones.
Shock survivor and prevent vault
Hook survivor
Pretend to have skill
Owie my feewings :(
How can I have 10k hours and not "bother" to get good? Abuse what cheese exactly? All you have to do is pre throw pallets and hold W.
"You press a button to find survivors" Ok well now you need to chase them which is made more difficult against good survivors. Also, there are better abilities in the game, as Bubba all you have to do is hold m2 to instantly down survivors.
If you chase poorly, lose a survivor and have to use the static blast again, then why would you complain? If he is chasing poorly then you should escape regardless of what happens.
"Shock survivor to prevent vault" Yeah well pyramid head can actually hit survivors by doing the same thing. This is part of his power and you have to time it properly and know when to use it.
"Hook survivor" like every killer
"Pretend to have skill" Sooo is timing a shock not skillful?
Would love to see your gameplay as and against him.
I'm waiting...

The 'nerf' was Overheat, a mechanic which never does anything unless you've ######### up multiple times over.
The "nerf" was unnecessary, but why should it even exist if billy is already punished in multiple ways for misusing his chainsaw? And his addons are very bad for the most part.
-
@Keezo said:
Overheat doesnt come into play unless you're bad. This leaves either seeing a red bar growing around your power or needing to use his old dumb addons as the only reasons someone would think he's actually been nerfed or thinks he's less fun
lmao he was over-nerfed (for no reason btw), most of his addons are literal garbage and he is less fun.

Sounds like a case of git gud, the doctor is fine and needs buffs if anything.

I made a suggestion about this months ago.
@Yords said:
Please read first.
I have made a post about this before, but I feel that it is more relevant especially right now with moris being nerfed and I feel that this should definitely be implemented as it is not crazy big of a change.
The current yellow mori: Allows you to kill a survivor if they are the last one remaining in the trial regardless if they have been hooked or not.
This is not used often and most of the time, you probably aren't even going to get to use it if you do run it.
The could-be base kit mori: Allows you to kill the last remaining survivor in the trial only if all other survivors have been sacrificed. Grants you as many points as you would have gotten if they were hooked and sacrificed.
It makes sense with the lore of the game "You worked well, the last one is yours.", gives moris more of a use just in general gameplay, is not OP, and gives you the rest of the points you would have gotten sacrificing them.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with me, or do you think something else could work? Just keep it professional.
It would allow you to actually get a chance to see mori's in game which would be a nice touch while also getting rid of the cypress memento mori since it honestly does nothing most of the time you actually use it which is not often. It would be a nice finish to the match while still getting the hooks and points you would have gotten if you killed them normally.

Counterplay has to work 100% of the time to be valid?
Never even implied that. but no of course not.
-
So is your definition of fun in this game only escaping?
-
@DemonDaddy said:
She has plenty of counterplay, it's just that a majority of it is pre-chase. Her most exploitable weakness is visual impairment and devs gave her a huge audio que for when it's active/ approaching. No sense calling it unbalanced; a single advantage she gets only after putting in the work to injure you and requires a perk.
A slow killer designed to cut out chase using only scratches and audio. Seems pretty balanced if your not trying to force a win where her strength applies.
She gives no indication as to when she is when phasing nor where she is. She has several cues as to where you are however which makes her power incredibly one-sided as well as without any sort of valid counterplay.
These cues include scratch marks, groans of pain when injured, breathing, and footsteps as well as noise when slow vaulting anything.
You can't counter her, only guess and hope you made the right choice. You can also attempt to make it harder for the mediocre spirit to catch you, but it won't work if the spirit you are up against is smart.

I'm glad your experience has been better, but there are people in this thread who've had very expensive PC's and still had issues.
True, I would say I have a pretty good PC (not god tier or anything), but I still have performance issues all the time. Literally every time I play actually, and it is going to happen more and more with each map rework.

Personally I feel if you think positioning does anything to counter a wraith from his free hit. You're doing something wrong as the wraith.
This is not including a run to a near by pallet ofc.
This is coming from a red rank wraith.
Gonna have to disagree there, on long and safe loops simply running around and just mirroring his movements normally can deprive him of a hit. Then there is infinitely vaulting a pallet so he has to uncloak if he wants to break it, wasting his time.
