One perk countering an entire killer power is not fine.
It doesn't, if you use her power for short bursts it really doesn't do as much as you think it does.

They did lie straight to our faces though

hopeful, but first the devs would have to have the capacity to accurately judge the quality of a given setup
which if old instavaults, entity blocker, bloodlust and breakable walls is any indication............
Yeah, it seems they can't even manage their game properly, nor can they do what is right for it....
-
Same, I always had the slightest of optimism left in me for them. Even then, I never did expect much from them though. So it hurts, but less.

Yeah he's pretty cool

Well it is not a bhvr patch without both cyanide and happiness, so meh.

I don't have a massive issue with Dead Hard tbh. I kind of see it the same way that I see other exhaustion perks, it'll give you that boost but then it's not going to help you for the rest of the chase.
Dead Hard basically allows you to be greedy, it lets you get another loop around a pallet for example - it's not a mistake when survivors do this, it's intentional, they know they have Dead Hard so they know they can make the loop before dropping that pallet, or make the window.
I still think Sprint Burst is a stronger exhaustion perk, but I feel that Dead Hard is more frustrating for some players to play against.
I think it depends on the situation. If the map is more unbalanced, dead hard can make it incredibly unbalanced since it can give you the option to preserve pallets just long enough to make it hurt the killer. Sprint burst could still help sure, but dead hard can just allow survivors to not heal the whole game, robbing the killer of their passive slowdown. I think that is one of the issues with dead hard, it allows survivors to completely ignore the healing mechanic part of the game and focus more on generators if they are good enough. It also absolutely wrecks m1 killers.
Not even Sprint burst can do that; not to say that this perk is weak.
-
I guess you could say that they aren't exactly on their best behavior *wink
But seriously, what the hell BHVR?

Ok, so the official DbD Twitter posted this a while ago now:

And now it has posted this?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/XB5XAYEGNA1E/screenshot-20211018-190326.png
So to clarify; this whole NFT... "thing" is actually something that you have worked on (and it doesn't give additional access to extra content (like voice lines - not that I mind about that bit. I'm just trying to get my head around it.)
I'm just horribly confused and worried over this NFT "thing" as most of the research I've done into it have all came up with rather negative connotations.
A quick reminder to please keep the comments civil, I know it's hard; but please try. Also if anything gets out of hand please close this topic.
Thank you.
Edit: I originally posted this as a new discussion, is the forum automatically putting these posts together already? I guess they were prepared for the storm at least...
Charge your phone pls <3

fyi, Long Wall is stronger than shack.
I disagree, shack pallet is the safest possible pallet type. A long wall pallet is strong, but more killers can actually do something about it, usually. On average, mind games can help much more with a long wall jungle gym than around shack pallet. Shack is just safer. Not to undermine the strength of long walls tho, they can be pretty insane.

@Impose said:
If they already do this then they probably dont understand it. If they aren't good at their own game they wont understand why certain tiles are good or bad.
L T walls are not that good against decent killers, and some killers actually get free hits at them (Nemy, Huntress, Deathslinger, Trick, Blight)
Meanwhile Shack once pallet is gone is actually a 3 loop at best. The best loop in the game is L wall with pallet and vault on opposite side
L l < vault there or the vice versa of that vault there L < I
True, but I did say that T and L walls are "decent" at best. I'm not sure if many people notice, but the strength of T and L walls actually differ across realms. They are shortest on autohaven, slightly longer on macmillan, and longest on yamaoka estate. This makes them a little wacky. But they can definitely still be decent when used by a good survivor, and especially when used with a decent pallet. Overall, they can be decently good at best.
I know that shack isn't very strong once the pallet is down. But if shack is connected to any other strong tile close by, then it becomes a problem. This is because survivors can start chaining tiles with shack, therefore preserving shack pallet and allowing it to be used for longer than it should.
The point of this little system would be to make sure tiles of high strength to not chain with other tiles and to have weaker tiles spawn together so that a good survivor can make them work when used creatively.

@th3 said:
IIRC They already do this as mentioned in a dev blog.
The fact that insane tiles still spawn on the farm maps, autohaven maps, and macmillan maps provides enough proof that it isn't. I also thought that as well, but it is clearly untrue.

That'd be a horrible business decision though.
Yeah, which is why I said to leave SWF alone. I didn't mean to add SWF in the list to be changed.
-
Stupid idea here that might work.
Insidious Oni:
- Insidious + 3 perks of your choice
Addons - Chipped sakazuki (brown) + Ink lion
*The addons just make you activate BF in 2 seconds, so very fast.
Send yourself to lery's, get your power, hide behind a wall close to a generator, activate your power and jumpscare any survivor who attempts to repair it. Down them. Hook them. Play normally when a survivor is hooked, repeat the process. Just a memey build.
So the setting looks like this: You get your power, hide, and give survivors a heart attack when they attempt to repair your selected generator. Then crush them.

Why should SWFs be punished? My SWF isn't toxic. We just like to goof off.
I actually just added that in there since they make the matches unbalanced most games, oops. But no for now, as much as it sucks to play against one, SWF should remain untouched.
Sort of just added that in there due to force of habit.
-
Survivors are not the main issue. Very poor map design, poor killer design, items, and SWF's are the underlying issues. You need to balance all of those instead of just straight up nerfing survivors.
-
if anything it should still be nerfed, like if another survivor is hooked then anyone with DS should lose it.

congrats m8

For a little bit, maybe 100-300 hours of playing it. Then it starts to become less and less scary.

I did read on the Q&A stream they’re trying to come up with a way to make camping less punishing for survivors. Don’t know what that means.
It means that it will probably take a year for another QoL change with a side of nerfing pig again.
-
Not entirely sure on this one.
I think it will only be for solo survivors (as if they needed one more thing to worry about) since they can't coordinate around totems very well.

All I'm seeing is a salty player who sends salt.in chat. I would understand if you were playing plague or legion but nemesis is really strong so idk. You have ruin Undying with zombies so I don't think the game went as fast as you say
Gonna have to disagree with that, nemesis is decently strong at his best. It is incredibly easy to make chases hard for him, especially when in a SWF for this guy. A swf could switch off with other people who are not already contaminated to make his tentacle be more of a hinderance.
-
I will, just a little though.

@drakolyr said:
The problem with camping/tunneling is often, of course you can gen rush. The person on the hook otherwise can not play the game. They dont get much bloodpoints.
It shouldnt exists that someone is getting hostaged by that.
Yeah, I do vouch for a survivor being camped on hooked or tunneled all game to get some sort of reward so they don't leave a match empty handed.
-
@LaFlamme said:
My issue with camping is that while you can completely counter it by doing gens you are essentially just guaranteeing that 1 persons game is completely ruined.
The survivors who get out just end up playing skill check simulator, the killer gets very little points, the survivor who got camped gets no points.
It just really isn't a fun way to play for anyone.
It isn't, but the faster you do gens, the faster you can get out.
-
@Bwsted said:
And camping and tunneling can only countered correctly if survivors share information. Guess what soloQs lack?
In general, camping and tunneling against solos nets a 2k AT THE VERY LEAST, unless the first chase is extremely weak. Bring meta stuff into the equation and it's very simple to cruise through most trials.
Kindred helps negate this though
-
@Mistakesweremade said:
Tunneling can only be punished with perks, a killer playing sweaty can just ignore made up rules and go after the same survivor as many times as he wants to sacrifice him as fast as possible. That's why BT and DS are such strong go-to perks, they invalidate one of the most powerful tactics a killer can use in order to win the game.
*The only tactics killers can use when it really comes down to it.

Or allow you to instantly open chest (not rummage)
It wouldn't make sense since it is still a broken key though.

Nice to see this series back.

That is exactly why people use it for distance and not dodging the killer.

Another "great" ballance joice by the Devs :(
They think AR and TP are fine, but consider wraith to be "a wee bit overpowered"
-
Every killer should be S-tier imo, and S-tier does not mean overpowered. S-tier is for killers who are powerful at base and have good addons to compliment their power.
-
Dude, they are literally just about to nerf Wraith for being "a wee bit overpowered"
-
As much as I hate that perk, and I mean hate it with a fiery passion, it should not just be completely taken away from survivors.

@TacitusKilgore said:
The problem with that is voice actors. DBD is a 5 year old game, a lot can happen in 5 years. VA's can die, get too old to reprise the same voice, lose the ability to voice that character, etc etc. Plus they cost a ######### ton of money. Adding a ton of new sounds is a very lengthy and taxing process, especially to older characters since they are the most likely to have VA's that cannot be brought back. And considering we've grown so accustomed to many of these voices, it would be a crime to attempt to replace them with anybody but their original VA's.
Really? That is a sad to hear.
-
That would be too good of a change for BHVR to actually implement, we can keep dreaming tho.
But yeah, a single player tutorial would be amazing. I could finally practice certain killers instead of having to be slaughtered by survivors when learning one.
-
you will never get it done because there will be someone along the way who will kill themselves on hook before you can finish
-
It has always been survivor sided.
-
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who caught that. I swear bhvr needs a team who actually understands their game.

How is hooking more "actual gameplay" than slugging?
Remember, that each and every hook is preceeded by a slugging (unless grabbed, and in which case the Killer can drop the grabbed Survivor also, thus slugging).
Slugging thus IS actual gameplay, and a core mechanic.
If you are on a hook you can struggle to ######### or choosing to wait for your team to save you.
I know slugging is real gameplay, I was just exaggerating how boring it can be for the slugged survivor.
-
But would every other solo survivor like that? No.

He is not the weakest, but he is one of the most annoying ones. A killer with a built in wallhack doesn't need a buff.
He's an m1 killer with almost no lethality and a power that just tickles survivors. He is nothing.

Because there is actually gameplay

One game of a plague vs an un optomized team doesnt mean she is OP. that is crybaby/fragile mentality. after her power, if you dont cleanse, she is a simple m1 killer, DONT CLEANSE and she has nothing else going for her. plus with resilience this even HELPS survivors. stop being sarcastic and think of what a decent team could do vs her
Well even a decent team would struggle when she starts to use addons, and she is getting pretty significant buffs too.
She already is very strong, and not cleansing doesn't work against a good plague anymore since she has a corrupt fountain by default. A good plague can mow down survivors with just enough to win the game with just one fountain. And most plagues run an apple addon as well.
Not cleansing against a good plague will end up with everyone dying unless you are on an indoor map. And no one runs resilience btw, a 9 percent increase in speed to certain actions won't change the entire course of the game either.
Just because she can't compete with that top percent of survivor teams does not mean she is one of the weakest killers.
-
(Yay! she is now moving out of the worst killer tier and into the 2nd-3rd worst killer tier).
Pfffffffft

Also blight since he is on of the few killers that actually has the control in a chase
