Well, with so many people saying it, then there just might be something to it. Also, I am a skilled player who has been playing for years and I’m saying it now. Also, I literally just joined the forum like a few hours ago, so relax. I’m still figuring the platform out.
Balance opinions of new players are not relevant.
Also sorry to burst your bubble but if you can't loop Bubba then you are not as skilled as you think.
I can loop any Bubba for AT LEAST a minute which shouldn't even be a thing in a 4 v 1 game where all 5 gens can be completed in 3 minutes.
-
My thoughts? Well, how about this:
There's multiple new accounts that have spammed "nErF lEaThErFaCe" today. I don't think we need 100 threads about the same topic and you should at the very least check two discussion pages before posting a new thread.
As for the topic it was discussed thoroughly. All experienced players agree he's mid tier and fine as his counterplay is literally the default type of counterplay and he doesn't have anything going for him other than an instadown that relies on survivor misplays.

I'd like to see Leatherface reworked. It isn't that I think he is OP per say, but that his learning curve is zero. He is an M1 Killer with Insta-Down who is 115%, so the slow down during the tantrum is moot. He isn't going to tantrum until he is on top of you anyway. The stereotype of the Basement Bubba is deserved because why wouldn't he camp the basement? His tantrum pretty much assures he will get both people. Obviously, I just stay away from the basement if possible, and I don't constantly lose to Bubba, but the games are never fun. They are tedious and repetitive. There is NEVER any variation in Bubba playstyle because he is so basic.
*And as a side note, because there is no learning curve, I run into Bubba more than any OTHER Killer.
Leatherface does have a learning curve. Timing the charges optimally while avoiding collision objectively requires more mechanical skill than using most of the other killer powers in the game. Particularly mindgaming loops and backwards anti-looping with the chainsaw is a tricky one. Even long term players/streamers like Umbra can't do it to this day.
EDIT: As for the topic I don't think any killer needs a nerf once Freddy receives his tonedown.
If anything some could do with a few tweaks to make them more fun to play/against. Plague could do with a few tweaks. Survivors should have less control over her power.

More like a problem with how they are doing maps lately....which this killer especially benefits greatly from.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/8CT3GETGUXE9/thebigempty.png
No pallets or safe areas here in 1/4th the map.
That's one side of the coin. I found a couple infinites on reworked maps and I'm talking legit infinites that are not mindgame-able with multiple longwall windows facing each other and leading right into the shack window with safe pallets in between.
I will record it next time I encounter those ridiculous loops (found them on reworked Azarov, too).
Anyway as @EvanSnowWolf said that's a map design and rng issue, not a Bubba issue. Any killer will dominate if the map spawns with nothing but deadzones.
-
I haven't got Deathslinger but I'm probably going to get him soon as he seems interesting to play.
Playing against him is a mixed bag. If it's a Godslinger you basically feel like a deer that's hunted down by a an apex predator. If they miss a shot or two and if the map allows you to break line of sight a couple times however the overall gameplay against him is quite intense and just... Different to all the typical M1 killers we got.
-
No. 🙂

This is why I think Sprint Burst is the best exhaustion perk in the game. Sure, Dead Hard can help extend a chase but against killers like Bubba you won't even be able to get to use Dead Hard unless you were already injured. Sprint Burst helps you get into position so Bubba's chainsaw is no longer as effective. Being caught out of position against a PC Bubba means you're more than likely going down and there's really nothing you can do about it.
Why "PC Bubba" and not just Bubba?

I am looping optimal bit he still end ups outlooping me bcause he get a speed bost without any punishment if he fails and then i need to find a new loop and on some maps there is barely a single loop with a safe pallet
He does get a punishment if he fails with the chainsaw. He either gets a tantrum if he fails to avoid collision or he fails by wasting his charges without getting the hit temporarily turning him into a no-power M1 killer until he gets his charges back (which by the way require mechanical skill for effective use).
This is what most of my chases look like against Bubba:
Almost 3 minute chase and even then he only got me because I failed to bait the jungle gym window and got greedy with the jungle gym pallet.
Are you sure you want to nerf a killer that already relies on survivor misplays to get his downs?
-
How about... No ?
If you are caught out in the open you are supposed to go down and not 360 spin your way to the next loop.
That's Leatherface's intended design.
Also:
"slowhim down while charging the chainsaw so the M1 leatherfaces can shine"
Literally means you want the chainsaw to be useless so you can 1 v 1 him like a no-power default killer.
It's a 4 v 1 game and each survivor got 3 lives that can be extended via exhaustion perks, ds, Unbreakable etc.
You are not supposed to run the killer for minutes.
-
Nope.
If you want to gain access to the imaginary yet official killer license you have to hit rank 1 while playing your matches in the morning when all the tournament teams are out there waiting for you (if there's a tourney team in your region that is!)
Rank 4 merely grants you the title:
"survivor main that just unlocked the power to PRETEND to play killer on a regular basis"

"How is doing the objective abusive?" followed by "Killers can abuse it now for the reasons I mentioned."
So killers who's objective is to kill, chosing to do their goal with option through tunneling can somehow abuse the new DS even when it's still survivors choice to disable their DS.
You're basically writing a double standart here. Survivors should be able to progress their objective without any hinderances but killers doing their objective should get punished.
Thank you for pointing out the double standard so I didn't have to. Definitely a top tier post.
-
The strongest killers are for free. Nurse and Spirit.
Pig is not even considered a strong killer. All she has is some built-in gen slowdown via helmets that are rng dependant and can potantially be removed on the first SAW box.
Other than that she's a default M1 killer with a normal terror radius and a situational dash attack.
-
BBQ is -by design- one of the healthiest perks in the game.
People who want BBQ nerfed need to understand:
BBQ promotes a healthy playstyle by providing information the killer can use to get into the next chase after hooking a survivor making it an anti-camp perk.
The bloodpoint stack for each survivor bonus further motivates the killer to find and hook each survivor rather than focusing on a single survivor from the start of the match making it somewhat anti tunnel as well.
I wish more perks were as healthy as BBQ.
-
"i eXpEcT a RePlY wiThiN a WeEk"
-
Oh, so that's why you took a picture of me earlier!
-
360s should not even be a thing to begin with. The killer has to outsmart survivors in order to close the distance allowing the killer to get the hit. That's the intended game design.
Wiggling and spinning to mess with the amazing aim dressing (which seems to be a bigger issue on console) is not intended.
-
All killers need slowdown to beat strong survivors. Especially if you plan to get your kills with more than 1 lousy hook per survivor (without slugging/tunneling). Reminder: The max number of hooks is 12 - not 4.
That being said I'm sick of running slowdown perks because they add nothing to the game in terms of interesting gameplay variables so I often run whatever I enjoy.
-
They should/could add a huge treehouse on the tree in the middle allowing for some interesting Balanced Landing plays. Also... It would make the map look more... Interesting.

Not even sleepy people, I'm at red ranks and at night I wait 10 minutes for a match only to get 15-20 rank team mates. They always are on different platforms as well. I think the game just can't find another solo rank 20 so it puts me there instead.
In the morning I have the same experience, matchmaking actually works and the wait time is instant.
Exactly - I (almost) forgot about the awful matchmaking at night making things even worse. New-ish survivors, sleepy teammates who are often afk or giving up on hook and the only other red rank besides me is the killer lol. Needless to say those matches will be one sided so playing solo at night is just a waste of time imo.
-
Region, rank and time of the day affects the quality of solo teammates.
Playing in the morning feels like playing a different game. Most of my teams know what they're doing and escaping feels fairly easy most of the time.
Playing at night however feels like most of my teams consist of sleepy people who aren't even motivated to try their best.
Not sure if that's solely my experience but I have stopped playing solo survivor at night since I noticed that crazy difference.
Solo survivor only in the morning for me from now on.
-
Only 5% hit rank 5 as killer? I'm confused. Why is that number so low? I thought everyone was red rank these days
How many % got Rank 1 as killer according to steam ?

His chase music is OP though.
True. Actually, the "default chase music" is one of the reasons I avoid playing my main (Bubba). Really can't stand listening to that "dum... dididididi dum... didididi dum" anymore. I really wish they added a unique theme for Bubba.
-
The community-opinion about Pyramid Head being one of the strongest killers annoys me a bit as I still don't see it.
Yes, I do occasionally down (bad) survivors in around 15 seconds with him but good survivors rarely get hit by the shockwave and zoning good survivors for the M1 hit prolongs the chase extremely since he slows down when planting the knife, while pulling the trails and again when canceling the attack.
I faced Exlelite and his tournament team (again) playing Pyramid Head and when I watched the match from his POV afterwards I saw him literally dead hard shockwaves that would have hit him through the wall.
So basically perfectly predict his movements through the wall just so the strong survivor can dead hard and hold W again. What a strong power !
And tunneling someone out of the cages isn't strong either when half the team can just bodyblock you allowing the tunneled survivor to get away while the 4th survivor is still chilling on gens.
Against good and aggressive survivors Pyramid Head doesn't excel at anything in my opinion.
He is decent don't get me wrong, but nowhere near as strong as people say he is.
Then again they 4-man escape against 99% of all killers they face even including rank 1 Nurses with Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, Infectious Fright.
So considering this my 1k was an ok-ish performance I guess.
-
What do you mean by "when you play Bubba, use the chainsaw as a crutch" ?
Is using a killer's power (that relies on survivor misplays) considered a crutch these days ?
-
Fire Up.
The perk design is healthy for the game as it rewards killers for not slugging. The perk rewards the killer for actually "playing with the survivors" and losing a few gens in the process as the perk effect / action speed buff gets stronger the more chances the survivors get to fix the gens.
However the perk values (4% per gen at tier 3) are a complete joke making it only somewhat interesting for Myers (due tier 3 vault action speed buff) and Wraith (due to his addons that buff action speeds) and even then only in their vault master fun builds.
I would buff the perk by increasing the values to 7% per generator.

TBH in time otz usually streams survivors are really bad. Like awfully bad
Yeah I observed that as well. If I play in the morning I face literal tournament teams (I versed UBK multiple times). If I play at night however I see more default skin survivors who rarely do any gens, just run out in the open instead of looping, give up on hook etc.
-
2021 and people still lose to facecampers ?
-
Am I the only one wondering why op just compared Spirit to Bubba ?
Anyway: The comparison is off because Bubba can be looped using the regular mechanics like a "normal" killer. Even Bamboozle won't help him against a strong looper who chains multiple windows.
As for Spirit: Many People hate her because she's (almost) completely in control when it comes to chases (which is a good thing in my book. Survivors should not be in control of chases. There's 4 of them and each one has up to 3 lives and each "life" can be extended via exhaustion perks, items (bottled time/syringe), DS, UB etc.).
I say that even though I despise going against her myself. You just have to be honest about it considering the gen speed against decent survivors. You just can't have ultra loop-able killers in a game where all 5 gens can pop in 3 minutes.

True I like your point, but that's the risk of bringing totems. Why do you think there's a perk called undying or even Thrill of the hunt?
However me being unhooked at a bad time and left to die on the hook. Can I control that? You may say 'use deliverance to get off yourself then' 'or use DS stupid'
I could use these. But the difference between these perks and the killer totem perks is the killers perks dont need no skill or requirement unlike DS (hitting the skill check) and deliverance (unhooking someone).
Yeah they may not be hard to do, but there's still a chance you may get put in the same situation (Got hooked first or miss the skill check by an inch)
Quote: "the difference between these perks and the killer totem perks is the killers perks dont need no skill"
What does Devour Hope (to name a sample) do if you have "no skill" as killer? Does the totem defend itself ? Does the Hex generate tokens automatically ?
-
@jester20k said:
Yeah there's a lot of unskilled killers that apparently have never ever played survivor and don't know or care what it feels like to get singled out just so they can have a better game.
Killing someone when you can = unskilled ?
You realize the killer is NOT a 5th survivor, don't you ? The killer's objective is killing you, not giving you as many chances as you need to escape.

He does get slowed and have an attack cooldown when he plants his knife, it's just not long at all. Barely affects him.
The slowdown affects him enormously against elite level survivors because you need every single inch of distance on them to either get the M1 or the angle for a successful POTD shot.

It doesn't work like that and you know. Too many exploits being defended lately
If there was an exploit I would be the first one to report it. I created a thread when I noticed PH's instadown bug in the PTB.
What you describe however is not a thing. The moment the Great Knife connects with the ground there is no way to avoid the M1-delay and slowdown. You probably saw one of Otz clips where he M1s just before the Knife connects with the ground which isn't an exploit.
-
@Freddy96 said:
No, lots of bug abusers playing him without the cooldown, so now he doesn't have any cd and faster cd after attack
There's no such thing. If the Great Knife is completely in the ground he gets the cooldown AND movement slowdown if you want to M1.
What you're referring to is Pyramid players that just tap M2 instead of fully planting the knife. If you fall for that then it's a YOU problem because even AFTER planting the Great Knife Pyramid Head still has a built in delay before he can shoot the shockwave of around half a second.
-
Pyramid Head needs a few tweaks imo. His Punishment Of The Damned needs a minor buffs to reward the intended gameplay (shooting through walls) rather than baiting the attack.
Having to stand still for 2.25 seconds (9 meters of survivor distance) after going for the "fun gamplay" (shooting through the wall) while the survivors just dead hard through the shockwave and hold forward all across the map afterwards is bs.
-
Freddy is straight forward and has everything in his kit you desire.
- easy to use anti loop power (snares)
- tracking (snares)
- semi stealth (partial invisibility while survivors are awake, no terror radius while they're asleep which helps at finding people and getting easy hits because of the non-directional lullaby in dream world)
- gen slowdown (via addons, wake up animations between survivors, wake up clocks that spawn on the opposite of the map)
- gen defense (teleport)
- map pressure (teleport)
- built in Borrowed Time counter (oblivious status effect)
-
So you think Legion is good because of information ? That's not valid at all since strong survivors WANT you to find them - particularly when you play a killer that can exclusively down with a M1 attack.
Also this part of your post:
"you can use Frenzy to have them sellout where their weaker teammates are hiding."
Basically means:
"Survivors have to be potatoes otherwise Legion is useless"

A full rank 1 swf will annihilation anyone not just PH. The game isn’t balanced around them because it shouldn’t be.
PH is fine now though
You're right.
I guess I should mention I posted that comment after facing a full rank 1 Object Of Obsession team on Midwich today so I was kinda moody when I posted that.

If you think PH needs (another) nerf then you have most definitely never faced a full Rank 1 SWF team who just hold forward all game instead of camping pallets.

“Wallhacks” is a term applied to Myers/Wraith/Pig...using...wallhack add ons.
i wasn’t saying “if someone is hacking then they all are doing this,” but merely describing what hacking can look like. Not getting a grab is hardly hacking, it’s ######### servers
Not sure if I just misunderstood you but anyway: "Wallhack" is a term / type of hack that existed before DBD was even a thing... Wallhacks are typically used in PVP shooter games.
But yeah, I agree about the grab stuff being the result of servers and all. Just had to mention something more "mild" like a wallhacker because people often think a hacker will be obvious / easy to spot.
-
@EuphoricBliss35 said:

You’ve described dedicated server issues, not hacking.
Hacking is the very hilarious Steve I had in a game that could Instaheal everyone, hook himself an endless amount of times, fly, kick the baby repeatedly (not playing twins), do the Steve scream repeatedly (LOL), freeze the game after EGC ends (floats away and escapes eventually), instacomplete gens, etc. THAT is hacking
And, honestly, it’s ######### hilarious. I can’t even get mad if I see this as killer or survivor.
What you described is a hacker using everything in the book at once without trying to hide it.
A wallhacker (for instance) will go down like any other survivor if they mess up at looping. Does that mean they're not a hacker just because they decided not to fly around insta-completing gens while spamming all animations in the game ?
-
Better FPS, less FPS drops.
If Destiny 2 can run smooth on my old XB1 without any major fps drops then I see no reason why DBD should struggle in terms of fps and fps drops.
-
I guess the STEAM population is pretty small compared to the combined population of XB1, Series X, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch and Windows Store.

She has a pickrate of... 2.0 %
I reckon the devs will give her some love at some point in the future.
