So just most EU survivor players are good? lol I only ever hear that they are skilled
It's a mixed bag as with any other region I suppose. I've only recently noticed how much better random teammates seem to be in the morning myself.
Had some amazingly coordinated 4 man escapes with other players including some EGC rescues. I almost forgot how different the survivor gameplay feels when all survivors know what they're doing.

I kind of like the struggling we have now, feels very intense. Having it be automatic would make being hooked even more boring than it currently is.
People legitimately suffer because of this outdated mechanic.

Plus over the years this game has improved a lot except bug wise.
except bug wise AND optimization wise
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/H3DP1876CTE6/pepehands-png.jpg
Tell me about it. Yesterday I was playing PH and a survivor was about to vault a window. When I was about to initiate POTD-nuke-protocol I got a MASSIVE fps drop. My screen legit froze for nearly 2 seconds.
After those 2 secs my PH stood still, POTD was canceled and the survivor was gone.
I legitimately laughed. Those moments feel like a classic meme at this point.
-
What I noticed is my survivor queues are almost instant AND my teammates are (almost always) awesome if I play survivor in the morning [EU].
I seriously escaped nearly every match yesterday morning and had lots of good loopers in my teams.
However as soon as it gets a little late survivor queues become pure torture. They take up to 7 minutes after 8pm and the teammates are mostly bots that do nothing all game and go down in seconds.
My killer queues are always quick. The slowest killer queue I've ever had was 2 minutes. Other than that they're pretty much always instant (less than 10 seconds) or below 1 minute if it's in the morning (when survivor queues are quick).

Getting rid of totems, You know those spots survivors can never reach or those perks that make it impossible to get rid of the totems because the killer is notified of it when you try?
Not sure if you are serious or not so:
You're describing bugged totem spots and killers defending their totems.
The only mechanic that's involved in actually cleansing totems is holding the action key/button until the progress bar is done.

It's - situational.
Shelter Woods ? Yupp, it's a trash perk.
Haddonfield ? Oh boy, let the fun begin !

Nothing to do with survivors skill. Killer mechanics are too easy while survivor mechanic require too much effort, practice. Survivors have been nerfed for 4 years straight, maps been redesigned around expert loopers, and nothing expected more from the killer side. I'm still seeing maps with gigantic deadzones where their recently over-buffed bubba does nothing but press a button and they are dead. How is that remotely fair? Your percentages are too low, if I remember correctly doctor was closer to 70% or more. With the hatch escapes factored in, an average killer winning that much over average survivors shouldn't be possible at all.
Name 1 survivor mechanic that's difficult.
-
Early Game Mechanic.
I would make it top priority to add the Early Game Mechanic.
This mechanic should introduce a low-risk mini objective for survivors.
By low risk I mean this mini objective should reveal its aura to survivors but NOT the killer. So basically reverse-concept when compared to generators (killers see them at base - survivors do not).
This means killers get more guaranteed time and can't get gen rushed in 3 minutes but/and survivors have a huge chance to not get found early on if they just sneak to said mini objective that's revealed to them.
With this change I'd also nerf all gen-slowdown perks and some mechanical changes to slugging and camping would get introduced as well.
-
If sounds were consistent and never bugged then I'd agree she's on the easier side of things but injured survivors legitimately emit no sounds sometimes without Iron Will.
The sound of injured survivors (including foot steps) may vary depending on the map.
There was that injured Jeff the other day who was so loud I could locate him precisely through a wall and a loop.
Meanwhile other survivors emit "nearly" no sounds even while you're chasing them even while in plain line of sight (again without Iron Will involved).
The same applies to other sounds like footsteps, breathing and even slow animation sounds (i.e. slow-vaulting pallets/windows). All of these sounds either vary from match to match or straight up bug out and disappear (especially foot steps).
CONCLUSION:
Spirit is a mechanical killer that's either relatively easy OR difficult to play depending on the quality of sounds. Since sounds are highly inconsistent I consider her a killer of variable difficulty (even though I despise going against her and would love to say she's braindead easy mode).

It will take 6.5 minutes and your teammates will be:
- Rank 18 Claudette with Botany Knowledge only
- Rank 9 default Bill with no perks and no will to actually survive
- rank 16 default Meg with a few tier 2 perks allowing her to Sprint Burst right into the killer and die even more quickly

I would just because I don’t consider there to be very many difficult killers in dbd. The only killers that make you go into a game and have to plan out every single attack would be Nurse, Pyramid Head, Blight, Curve Billy, and maybe Doctor.
Everyone else is very simple to play. So I’m not saying Leatherface is super difficult but difficult in comparison to the other killers.
I agree with that post - especially the
"The only killers that make you go into a game and have to plan out every single attack would be Nurse, Pyramid Head, Blight, Curve Billy, and maybe Doctor." part
Except for Doctor. I used to play him a lot before Bubba was released back then and even when you had to switch between treatment and punishment mode I found him to be a very forgiving M1 killer.

I don't think Bubba's power is cheap or forgiving, as I said I still think he's harder than any of the M1 killers. I just think saying he's among the hardest killers is too much.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1900966#Comment_1900966
Well, if you go into every match running a boosted addon ofc you'll find him easier than Bubba.
I can agree with that. Bubba is a very mechanical killer that takes a while to get used to unlike most M1 killers but there's numerous killers that I feel are more difficult to play - particularly on a consistent performance level.
Personally I'm still struggling with PH. His shockwave just feels inconsistent to me. One match I keep getting all the animation-lock hits and downs through the wall and one match later my shockwaves don't do anything for me.
That's one thing where Bubba excels. Reliability.
This combination of reliability and strength of his design is probably why some people say he's easy while others say he's one of the more difficult killers. Hope that makes sense.

You're really overstimating how hard Bubba's chainsaw is. How is it harder than Oni's dash if he can literally 360 while dashing at more than 5m/s? Oni's dash at least has a limited turn rate even with his flick.
I play a plenty of Bubba myself, so I know he has some problems on some maps. I still think his chainsaw is fairly easy to maneuver just because of how forgiving his charges are. If you use them correctly you can easily end any pallet loop in under 10 seconds. On window loops it's a bit harder, but 90% of Bubba players run Bambozlee so it's not like it's impossible to deal with them.
The first sentence of yours can be applied to every killer in the game.
You reduce the usage of a power to make it seem overly easy and trouble free.
Let me do that for a few killers quickly to give you an idea what your comment looks like (sarcasm alert)
Oni: Doesn't have to avoid collision for easy and forgiving dashes, has a huge hitbox so no need for precise Kanabo hits, no big penalty for missing. Easy and potent instadown.
Deathslinger: Literally zone a survivor by walking at them. Very difficult. Also just quickscope with no way for them to react to win. Also very difficult.
Huntress: Just throw a hatchet NEAR a survivor. The air will bleed and the survivor will go down around the next corner. Pretty much a projectile killer for people that can't aim.
See what I mean? If you go that route you can make all killers look like they're designed in an cheap and overly forgiving way even though reality looks way different.

Here is the truth. As someone who is often face camped by red rank bubbas...
He is fair and sorta balanced.
Problem is his camping potential as mentioned above. And that's not really a bubba problem, it's a game design problem. It's not nearly punished enough to do it and thus people do it. Often because they are triggered (I have a clip of going down nearly when the game starts after looping one all over Haddon... and he sat on the hook in my face til I do while everyone did gens and left. He kept smacking me)
We are getting to the point where the entire hooking system, positioning, and overally mechanics are outdated and aging poorly. But at this point, this is what system we have and we will just have to deal with bad games at times if a killer wants to throw the game to piss you off or bait the team.
My rules are always
1. If i am being facecamped pray my team finishes everything and lets me die. I understand
2. If i am hit with NOED, kill myself off hook because game allows so no one has to lose to risk getting me because the killer rightfully only has one choice to proxy my hook
3. Not take it personally and just move on to the next game and NOT play killer the same way
Extremely well said.
-
Bubba is perfectly fine. His power is reliant on survivor mistakes/misplays (which is what most survivors enjoy) as opposed to top tier killers (i.e. Nurse, Spirit).
On top of the fact that his power basically only punishes survivor mistakes he also has no:
- built in gen defense (unlike your "bae" [Freddy])
- built in map pressure (unlike Freddy)
- Borrowed Time counter (unlike Freddy). Yes, people can get double hit by the chainsaw if they're refusing to use the speed boost to vault a window/pallet.
- semi stealth via partial invisibility while awake/no terror radius while asleep (yes, more Freddy talk)
- tracking (unlike Freddy with snares)
- tiny body making mindgames easier (unlike Freddy)
Also Bubba has a higher mechanical-skill requirement than most of the other killers in the game justifying his power.
So yeah, his 1 v 1 can feel strong but that's about it. And it only feels strong if the Bubba player is good at using the chainsaw WHILE the survivor player is bad at using windows and pallets correctly.

Hey @Yamaoka remember that thread where I gave you Pyramid Head gameplay? Sorry man apparently I don't know how to play him and I'm really inexperienced.
It's not like I've put 500+ hours into exclusively him or anything.
It's not like I main the guy or anything.
It's not like I've streamed it to people and they've said I'm one of the best or anything.
Clearly I'm inexperienced as a killer because I'm good enough at the game to not need to tunnel people instantly.
My bad.
Seems like you have failed at becoming the forum PH main :( Back to the drawing board !
On a serious note it's one hell of a coincidence you mentioned my thread and the matches you provided. I literally re-watched your matches like 2 days ago. Kinda crazy coincidence considering it's been quite a while since we discussed PH's chase duration.

It might not be Nemesis. The good thing about the RE series is that it has a whole host of characters to choose from.
Someone like Wesker could also be the killer. The survivors can be literally one of 5 different characters.
Imagine if they did a double license deal with RE. This chapter being the old RE (Nemesis + Jill) and the next chapter could be the new RE (Lady from RE8 + Ethan).
I was thinking about Wesker, too but thought he was way too human looking except for his final boss form.
Still remember the epic 2v2 fight in RE 5 when Jill was controlled by Wesker's bug like device. Good times.
Anyways regardless of what the next licensed killer will be I wonder what kind of mechanics they'll be using especially if it was something that involved guns like Nemesis.
That being said If it was Wesker they'd probably make him a mobility killer.

XB1: FPS drops happen on every map for me mostly when any status effect kicks in but also completely randomly.
Last time I played survivor on Azarov's Resting Place my screen freezed for almost 3 full seconds just before I got in a chase. After the FPS drop the camera will usually snap to a random location similar to Hag traps.
Particularly bad map for fps and fps drops is Hawkins and Lery's imo.

Zanshin tactics needs it's cooldown reduced or removed. After the first hit it's pretty much inactive and quite useless. It does give you some early info about where loops are but it's definitely not worth a perk slot. I understand why windows of opportunity has a cooldown but why zanshin?
About the Zanshin Tactics vs Windows of Opportunity thing. I created a thread about it a while ago as I wondered why the survivor version of the same perk has a 10 seconds shorter cooldown... In a 4 v 1 game.

Something I've been wondering for a while:
Why does Zanshin Tactics have a 30 second cooldown while Windows Of Opportunity has a 20 second cooldown?
Both perks do the same exact thing so isn't the killer version of the same perk supposed to be a lot stronger considering the 4v1 aspect? 🤔
Needless to say the devs didn't comment on the topic.
Zanshin Tactics absolutely and entirely deserves to have NO cooldown at all. It's just a mild information perk afterall.

Solo is a mixed bag and people tend to remember negative experiences more than the positive ones.
I've started playing survivor more frequently again and honestly most games have been decent the past days even though I'm always solo and I either play without meta perks or a mix of meta and meme perks.
I've played 2 matches today so far. Both matches were VERY long (around 15 minutes each) and exciting.
1st match against Rank 1 Nurse. 4 k but fun match with lots of chases.
2nd match against Rank 3 Pyramid Head. 3 man escape and lots of exciting chases (even though people act like all Pyramid Head chases ended in seconds).
Yesterday I played 4 survivor matches. Result was 2 wins for the killers and 2 wins for the survivors. Nearly perfect 50/50 kill/escape rate.
The day before I played I think it was 7 matches and I escaped 4 out of 7 but I can't remember if/how many of my teammates died in those matches.
I think if people really started recording their results they would realize survivors are winning/losing relatively evenly.
UPDATE:
Played 5 more matches in the meantime.
1st match: Rank 1 Freddy with Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer/Discordance. He 4k'd and the match was one boring waste of time. I got 1-hooked.
2nd match: Rank 1 Legion with Pop/BBQ. 4 man escape.
3rd match: Rank 3 Trapper with basement build. 4 man escape.
4th match: Rank 1 Pig with Corrupt/Pop/BBQ and Tampered Timer (purple addon). 4 man escape.
5th match: Rank 5 Ghostface. 3 man escape but the last survivor could have been saved. No one tried, though so they got 2-hooked.
Solo survivor really isn't as bad as people think when your team is somewhat decent.
-
Well, that match must have been...

This was purely the fault of the survivors. You would have gotten the exact same result with any other instadown killer.
Doesn´t mean that Billy is strong.
I gotta agree the clip doesn't prove anything as the survivors really did play like legit rank 20s.
That's kinda like my Bubba clip from 2019:
Yes, I 4k'd in 39 seconds measured from the start of the match but does that mean PreRework-Bubba was top tier ? Hell no. It proved nothing.
The first 2 survivors were obviously meme-ing around by pointing at me, the 3rd survivor probably got stuck whilst looping allowing me to catch her instantly and the last survivor refused to run away and hide outside my terror radius during all of this to end then and there.
Decent survivors were able to 1v1 old Bubba pretty much while sleeping.

I can play Trapper and Hag, but I can't play very many matches. And if it's a sweaty swf bully squad with OoO, I don't even try. I just face a corner, it's not worth the stress or pain. Trap killers are easier on my hand since right clicking isn't too difficult.
Playing survivor is much more forgiving. If i get a cramp, I can just go in a locker for a few secs and do my hand stretches. If I'm in a chase, I just run across the map and try to juke the killer by stealthing away. It works more often than one would think and it makes me giggle with glee when I watch them check behind rocks and trees in the wrong direction. If I am chased too long and my hand hurt, I sometimes just let them down me.
I know it sucks and I wish I could be a better teammate, but it is what it is and love this game too much to just stop playing. I really wish I could 360 or look behind myself while running, but I can't. So I will stealth and do objectives. That doesn't mean I won't take aggro though. If I know a teammate is on death hook, I will run in front of the killer and just stand there for him to come at me.
I really hope they come out with a new hide and seek mode that is more difficult to survive and somehow scarier. I miss the adrenaline rush I got from first playing this game. I literally couldn't sleep from how pumped it made me, which is rare for me.
Have you tried playing on a controller or does it make no difference when it comes to pain ? Just wondering as it would allow you to look behind you due to thumb movement only / no wrist movement.

You have no facts. I can link to video after video after video showing how compentent survivors stomp good killers any day.
If you had hard facts you would have provided evidence for them, yet none of your posts does so.
A question just out of curiousity: Can you even play killer with carpal tunnel syndrome? I figure your tendons must feel like fire when playing killer as you don't get to chill at any moment throughout the match whereas survivors pretty much go AFK while repairing gens.

But That's like, not tunneling. That's just, you're all right here and that's the weak one. It's not at all like what I experienced. Maybe it will help if I explain that these were Bubba and Doctor? Basically, Bubba did what he does. Chainsawed one person down, ran off. Came back as soon as someone went for the save, mowed them both down. They separated, so he left one behind. The rest of us didn't know if we could risk getting the slug up while he chased the other, but it didn't matter because he got them and chucked on hooks. From there, it was just an awful snowball of him keeping anyone from healing lest they both get slugged, but anyway chainsaw. They'd get just enough time to rescue, but then bam, chainsaw again. Someone tried to go back to gens but they'd all regressed because Ruin/Undying. Once someone got off second hook, bam, mori. And then he did the same thing in each other match I had with him, only made sure I was the first to die each time.
I get that Doctors are tunneling frequently since his power is great for finding particularly vulnerable survivors (i.e. people that just got unhooked) but I will never understand why people tunnel as Bubba. His instadown allows for more fair gameplay than other killers as he can go for anyone at all times thanks to the one shot. In fact that's one of the things I like about Bubba. He never makes me feel like I should go for that injured guy who possibly just got unhooked.
Anyway this right here:
"he did the same thing in each other match I had with him, only made sure I was the first to die each time."
Sounds like a player is specifically targeting you -as a person- which is a reportable offense / in-game harassment.
Did they say anything post game which made it blatant that they're targeting you as a person or something ? If so I'd record / report it / submit a ticket.
And before someone quotes me and says tunneling isn't bannable:
I know that myself. Tunneling is perfectly fine (although anti-fun for the survivors) however targeting a player specifically is -to my knowledge- still a bannable offense albeit difficult to prove.
-
Quote: "Why you think singling out a person over and over is acceptable behavior. Is it just because you know there are no consequences? Are you genuinely that mean?"
Your complaint is primarily tunneling in a game where getting control over a match as killer is a lot more manageable as soon as 1 out of 4 survivors is dead.
Although the killers you played against were childish and rude in terms of communication tunneling by itself is more of a design failure than a personal thing.
Some survivors will pop a near-by gen if you don't tunnel them off the hook instead of healing or letting someone heal them.
Last time I played killer I left the hook and checked some gens. I didn't immediately head back to the hook after the unhook even though I had not found anyone else yet.
After checking multiple gens I decided to go back and guess what: Multiple survivors were there and popped the gen next to the hook in my face including the survivor that got unhooked who was still injured.
Needless to say that's when I started tunneling the injured guy and they disconnected on death hook.
See the double standards?
Killer wants a fair match by giving survivors a chance to get unhooked and healed - gets survivors that do gens injured instead with the typical "it's my objective" attitude.
But as soon as I hurry up with the killing (my objective) by tunneling the injured guy who just popped a gen in my face with their teammates I'm the bad guy all of a sudden?
If survivors hurry with the gens to the point where they refuse to heal each other then I will hurry with killing them. That's literally the same.
In that scenario both sides are just trying to get the objective done as quickly as possible without giving a (beep) about the fun of the person they verse.
-
Demogorgon, Pyramid Head and Oni come to mind.
Demo has such great chase music and his shred is a decent zoning tool forcing you to think outside the box at cerain loops. As a result the chase feels more intense than a regular M1 killer.
Pyramid Head is basically the same thing. His shockwave (when used for more than just zoning) forces you into a lot of mindgames whenever line of sight is interrupted for a brief moment. Will he shoot through the wall or will he come around the corner to M1 me ? Is it a god-like Pyramid that goes for flick shots making it hella difficult to dodge POTD ?
And Oni ? Well, his agile instadown is one of the scariest things in the game so it's pretty self explanatory why I find him exciting to go against. I love his chase music, too.
-
You do get the normal speed boost. Huntress however recovers more quickly from a hatchet throw than a M1 attack allowing her to go for her famous M2 into M1 combo.

Wasn't gonna ask you to upload it. Just wondered because it makes a nice memory for yourself. I too have some clips I particularly like yet I'm not planning to upload them.
For instance I had a match the other day as Pyramid on Lery's and was kinda annoyed because that map runs at like... 15-20 fps on my old XB1.
However throughout the match I heard an injured survivor running through the map and was able to locate his sounds so directionally I managed to hit them with one well aimed shockwave through 1 wall AND 1 loop with absolutely no eye contact before the shot AND the survivor was running sideways from my position.
I uploaded it to my XB live account so it doesn't accidentely get deleted.
If only sounds worked this well AT ALL TIMES. That guy probably didn't know what hit them lol.

not really 0.01% i guess if he gets a lucky snowball he might win..

That doesn't mean killer is easy. It means the survivors you face are easy.
Ghostface has exactly a 0.01% chance of beating 4 strong survivors otherwise you would have seen him being played in any tournament.
That being said I hope the MMR system will sort things out so people who never go against good survivors finally understand why some killers "whine" all the time.

Imagine a perk for survs that show the aura of the killer if he moves in the direction of the surv 24 secs before he arrives, and also remove sounds from the surv. This is tinkerer.

You mean normal DBD ? Because survivors literally lose their sounds from the killer's pov on a regular basis.

As killer: The first thing I do is complain about the fact that I usually spawn exactly on the opposite of the map whenever I bring a hex totem so I end up getting paranoid about survivors spawning near my totem and as a result I give away the totem's position like a dummy.
As survivor: The first thing I do is locate the generator that's exactly in the middle of the map as I want the remaining gens to be as spread out as possible.

No, im just putting your logic backwards, and most of the times otz is using experimental builds, meme builds or things like that, so you can't take him as the gospel.
So if a streamer looses a game, the game is totally unbalanced? and probably if he lost is because that team is better than him, otz didn't play well, otz did some mistakes or simply back luck.
(even if they're using comms which is scummy) sadly, that's the true, there's always someone better than you. Shocking? I know!...
If YOU as a killer have 4-5 minutes game where all survivors escape, then sadly you're not as a good as you think you are. I rarely have games like that and they're obviously not common, should we balance around 0,5% games?
At this point I'm not even reading your stuff anymore. I applied YOUR (questionable) logic and now you're desperately trying to twist things. Everyone can read it anyone sees what's up so bye.

Umbra managed to kill a top tier legacy swf comms team in 4 minutes, do you think that legacy swf comms team is trash?
See how stupid your logic looks like?
You LITERALLY said if a killer loses all gens in 4-5 minutes the player is trash. I therefore asked you if Otz is trash in your opinion since people even did all gens in 3 minutes against him.
I literally applied YOUR logic not mine.
You're embarrassing yourself buddy.

If you as a killer let survivors do their objective in 4-5 minutes, then you're trash.
Survivors even managed to do all 5 gens in 3.5 minutes against Otz.
Do you think Otz is trash ?

Shelter Woods is a coin flip at the moment. There can seemingly be jungle gyms back to back and rock pallets OR nothing but T-L walls.
It is certainly not a 1-sided problem, though. Umbra had a 4 man escape on Shelter Woods a few weeks ago - as Bubba.

Gotta love survivors that manage to get slugged at 5 gens even though the entire map is loaded with resources that were designed to waste the killer's time.
Yesterday I played a few survivor matches.
A Trapper managed to slug all 3 of the other survivors early on. I repaired 2 generators on my own (those two gens were the only gens that got repaired) while he destroyed them with the speed of light.
He hooked 1 and the 2 slugged survivors BOTH seriously crawled under the hook allowing the Trapper to facecamp all of them at the same time. One of them had Unbreakable and used it while under the hook. Trapper just slugged them again.
I let all of them bleed out / die and looked for the hatch.
The Trapper had no perks other than tier 1 Brutal Strength, too.
From now on that's how I will always play survivor. If my teammates are literally not intelligent enough to play survivor (which means a lot in my book) I will refuse to carry them.

Still, then your post is a bait.
Freddy has basically everything, Anti-Loop ability without Cooldown, Slowdown-Add Ons, built-in slowdown (waking up at Clocks), Map Mobility...
He is not as strong as Nurse or Spirit, but it can be discussed if he is one of the Top 5 Killers (many candidates for that). He is way too strong for how easy he is to play.
Agreed - especially with the last sentence.
He is too strong for how easy it is to play him. From a mechanical standpoint there's nothing you have to master as Freddy as opposed to the killers that he can be compared with in terms of strength.
As you said - Freddy has:
- built in gen slowdown via addons.
- built in gen defense via teleport.
- built in anti loop via snares that have no cooldown AND no slowing animation.
- built in tracking via snares.
- built in semi stealth via partial invisibility while awake AND non-directional lullaby with no terror radius in dream world.
- built in borrowed time counter via oblivious effect.
- built in slowdown via clocks that spawn on the opposite side of the map.
- built in slowdown via wake up animations when survivor A wants to wake up survivor B.
Not sure if I forgot something but people get the point. Which of his mechanics is "difficult enough" to justify this huge kit?
