  • Lol you're allowed to like what you like so you don't really gotta do this but glgl if you do.

  • I wanna know what HIGH MMR MONSTERS were using stale biscuit.

  • Trickster so I could sell it to a simp for money.

  • Springwood is an abomination but for some reason we need 5 versions of it.

  • QLmao haven't run into this yet but look forward to it. But I kinda saw this coming people been sleeping on pinhead since release since he's insanely hard to learn and nobody played him but with the voicelines being added his popularity about to go up and people about to learn how obnoxious a good pinhead actually is. Think basement Bubba is bad? Meet infinite chain hunt pinhead.

  • "Who's Jeff?"

    -BHVR probably

  • Some games he never says anything some games he never shuts the hell up it's kinda funny.

  • I don't understand this thought that every survivor be running meta perks and when they switch to killer think they can run w/e they want like killers don't have a meta too.

You can kinda get away with that if you're good but when you're just learning killer it's asking for a bad time to not run gen stall or regression.

  • They're gonna die eventually so technically it's not holding the game hostage since they can leave the game without DCing so I wouldn't think so.

I mean I lost 3 gens in less than 3 mins on dead dawg saloon, the best map for killer, small map, is it really a map issue or an objective issue? Think about it. It's so easy to do a gen that you just have to hold a button and that's enough to make a killer sweat. It's just a lazy idea of an objective

That generally doesn't happen to me on that map but when it does on other maps I generally just try to 3 gen best I can. The way the game generally flows survivors usually get the first few gens done pretty easily and it's not a big deal so then depending on how well you do the last two gens can also be easy for them or it can be an absolute pain that never gets done because they're so close together which is actually why to this day I think suffo pit and resting place are horrible design as it takes the 3 gen or lose idea to it's extreme.

  • It's not really survivor sided at all if anything it's map sided as generally whoever the map favors generally does better but the game is wierdly almost balanced in it's own messed up way of both sides having insane BS.

  • It's overrated, if you have to go out of your way to try and maybe squeeze value you out of it it's not very good is it? You'll get squads who try to bully with it but it will almost never be organically useful.

  • Survivor: Was Jake now Mikaela

Killer: Plague and Cenobite with a bit of Twins

I like how you are saying my criticism is invalid without actually addressing any points provided in OP. That's the level of discussion we deserve, keep it up.

You don't have a point when you don't even know the definition of the word hypocrisy.

  • We've reached peak DBD forums where people give up at any attempt at coherency whatsoever to hate on the devs.

Remember what you say doesn't have to make sense it just has to say DBD and the devs suck and it's automatically valid because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Dead Hard is actually the strongest perk in the game next to NOED because both seem to cause

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHb5CFGYz1A

  • I have a theory that if I make plague look as attractive as possible it will distract survivors enough for them to mess up and give me easier chases.

I have no idea if it works but I like to think it does.

  • I don't have the best hearing which kinda keeps me from playing spirit since I phase and they're never where I think they are, make it hard to enjoy them.

  • Also I don't give the "if they don't cleanse" argument much weight anymore because everyone tries to over cleanse plague atm from what I've seen and the teams that don't are playing the entire game exposed so it's annoying when they don't cleanse but not the end of the world.

  • Plague is extremely strong and most definitely A tier but I don't think she quite reaches S tier if only because she is slightly map/RNG dependent with her fountain placement like swamp for instance they tend to spawn on the edges of the map which is just awful.

She is a bit like oni where in her power she's nearly the best killer in the game but out of it you can struggle a bit.

  • I'm kinda interested in the cosmetics themed around the event but as for the event itself? eh none of the past few events have been too crazy so I'll still play but probably won't notice the event too much. I wish they brought back the moon offerings I missed those but I heard they were interesting.

  • I don't think it's 5 stars just due to it not making sense on every killer. Killers that can keep you from leaving at the gate like Pinhead and Deathslinger it makes a lot of sense on but blight or billy who's entire power centers around not doing basic attacks? I don't like it on them at all so I'd rate it 4 stars probably amazing when it works feels like a wasted slot when it doesn't.

  • Most of the information here is pretty good but I'll two thi go not brought up yet.

    1. Hitting a chain at the exit gate gives them incapacitated if you down them similar to victor meaning you they can't leave immediately giving you time to pick up.

    2. The other chains that spawn after you hit a possessed chain arn't as random as some believe. Chains attach to 3 parts of the body both arms and the torso. This means if you hit an arm the chains will aim at the torso and the other arm. The usefulness of this is basically using it to create camera shakes like hag traps to disorient or hitting a body part that is hardest to hit so the cpu chains have an easier follow up. This is difficult to put into practice so don't worry if you don't get it right away.

  • This is just not correct. Being able to down survivor's repeatedly (shown through hooks) shows much more skill and outplaying survivors than camping basement does in situations where they cannot reasonably be expected to go for the save.

  • @Shaped said:

You forgot time of the day. Evenings are more chill than daytime in eu when you play killer for example.

    Mornings/Afternoon

NA servers for me EU servers for Bunny, we both had a wide range of memers to tryhard SWF squads although Bunny had a noticeably higher amount of TTVs.

  • Plague basically is the reason I play DBD, I first checked out the game right when it first came out practically and it was just Trapper, Wraith, Billy, Nurse and playing killer was miserable and survivor was boring without friends so took a long break. Would check in on the game here and there but never played that long until plague came out. Was the first character that seemed really interesting to me and was the first killer I actually paid for.

I played her for a long while and was honestly really bad at her left DBD again came back around Deathslinger and have been here ever since took the time to really learn killer and plague remains one of my mains to this day.

  • The problem with slinger is time efficiency, you can still do some really cool shots with him and the base idea of slinger is still good but the time it takes to shoot someone then reel them in and reload so you can do it again is insane.

You almost need to camp with him because you don't have the mobility to patrol gens because on top of this you're 110% for whatever reason.

  • This is like Dave Chappelle's playa haters' ball come to life.

Just being spiteful and petty for the sake of it.

  • If camping was really a problem they could just make hooks actually mean something for MMR and deduct points for consecutive hooks on the same person.

I don't understand this mentality of creating a problem where there isn't one and just snowballing bandaid fixes which in turn creates more problems when the actual solution is much simpler.

  • I've uninstalled like 2-3 times at this point, it's not an escape tbh.

  • Y'all really melting down over 4 seconds?

  • I get survivors doing it to me when I'm playing survivor as the killer quite a bit I don't think it's intentional BM as much as it is ADHD tbh.

  • No if anything it will lead to more sandbagging most likely.

  • They can't dead hard if you make them go from healthy to down.

My games got way more inconsistent after sbmm, I got way more one sided matches one way or the other and after a month I couldn't take it anymore and haven't played since September and from what I've seen it's only gotten worse, at least the pip system tried to quantify the various things that happen in the game instead of only caring about the result.

The bigger problem was that sbmm didn't even use itself to matchmake, hence the abundance of rainbow lobbies when it was a thing. Full red rank games or full purple games or green games always felt a lot more balanced then the vast majority of my games with sbmm

For me it was way worse before sbmm when I was starting killer I would get red rank games and when I got better I got everything from rainbow lobbies to just yellow/green teams while meanwhile I'd be purple or red. There seems to usually be less weak links in my games so it seems to be doing something.

Why does a dev team that thinks tbagging and clicking are an integral part of the gaming experience care at all about toxic elitism? Why do they not care about survivor specific toxicity?

    It's a bit strange isn't it?

Survivors being toxic to killer: It's just part of gaming nothing we can do.

Survivors being toxic to other survivors: Whoa whoa whoa let's cool it with the toxicity here no need to be elitist.

  • I thought it was good Q and A overall, I didn't like all the answers (yes I think 8 hooks 0k for the killer is a good result are you trying to encourage camping and tunneling or what lol) but there was a lot more useful info in there than I was expecting and at least CoH was addressed. Only thing I wanted addressed that wasn't was the buffing yellow add-ons to match greens and purples.

  • I wanted it to go down to 60% but I'll wait to see how 75% is I'm just happy they did something about it.

  • I don't think sbmm is as bad as what we had before but the current system is definitely flawed.

Me and my gf are doing otz's no perk killer challenge atm which I'll post the results of that when we're done and something that's immediately obvious is that kills don't tell the whole story of a game by any stretch. Just to give an example her nurse game was a 1k but she had gotten 8 hooks and had actually done pretty decently but just going by kills which us all the average cares about that was a poor game. Where as in my hillbilly game I got a 3k which involved only 3 hooks and letting a person bleed out on the ground, that was not a game I felt good about at all but for the purposes of the challenge and mmr those things just look at 3k and the spirit of cote goes "you did a pretty good job so far".

I definitely think hooks should have more weight in the current system.

  • Because for some reason bhvr thinks taking 0.05 off toy sword will mean people will finally use sewer sludge an add-on that is actively detrimental to you.

Instead of asking what is happening bhvr really needs to start asking why is something happening but who knows if that will ever happen.

  • Demo is sad that as the only killer that actually makes tunnels their tunneling is never appreciated.

  • I don't like "devs don't play their game" comments cuz it's something that's demonstrably not true but the fact that they made the same mistake twice in the same ptb shows a level of negligence that's just kind of sad.

How hard is it to check a character's add-ons before you change them to avoid making a mistake like this? I feel like it shows that unless the killer is brand new or on the to-do list for an add-on pass or rework bhvr really don't pay attention to past killers other than looking at some numbers on a spreadsheet somewhere.

  • Tombstone is for when you want dbd to feel like an actual horror game.

The tension of nothing happening for a while then boom someone is dead just hits different than anything else in this game and mirrors the flow of horror movies much better.

  • DH feels worse cuz it just feels like you did a good job and got cheated where as the DS situation usually only happens if you managed the game poorly like it creates an unwinnable situation for you but you can eat a DS way before that phase to prevent it from happening.

  • I think on some level bhvr knows their twin changes makes no sense when the play rates from the last kill rate chart was missing and that wasn't an accident and yes I do think twins were at least part of the reason.

They nerf the twins over and over making them feel awful to play while the game continues to not favor them and while they're the least played killer in the game, it's honestly inexplicable other than they really don't give a damn about them.

  • I know this kind of a joke but we really could do with some cosmic horror. Like some real innsmouth shiz.

If I down you as a monster in VHS and someone picks you up, you don't have any defense. You can hope someone had a weapon but that's it. And the weapons are not like some COD weapon you get 6000 shots on. If the monster downs you and someone picks you up, you can just be downed again or killed. In DBD, if someone unhooks me unsafely then I

    Tank a hit with BT

    Dodge another hit with DH

Take the third hit and then DS out and keep going.

There is no such equivilant in VHS. The game isn't loaded with second chances for the teens like how one survivor in DBD can have 3+ second chances as perks.

It takes a solid amount of time to make a weapon and it's one use. You do one damage state, it's gone. If the monster already had that damage state done to them, it only stuns them for a second or two, and again you lose the weapon. If it's a Wart and he shields, then you have to break the shield which immediately makes you lose your weapon and become defenseless. If it's a dollmaster, you'll need to waste weapons on the dolls and then spend even more time making more.

I have also seen no legit BM yet. You don't really have the time to sit there taunting upon doing one damage state. Neither does the monster when he downs people. Also the community being small right now means it may be a bad idea to go around being a DBD style jerk to everyone because you will play against a lot of the same people, and they will begin dodging you if you get a reputation.

I really doubt the no BM thing is going to continue into a public release so enjoy that while you can tbh, general public just sucks too much.

That being said on the rest fair enough but I still think the really coordinated SWF problem will be just as annoying in VHS as it is in this game and that might just be the nature of 4v1 games idk but I'll give VHS a chance when it comes out since DBD just feels bad even when you do well.

  • I try my best to like the game still but between getting validated by dead hard 4-6 times a game and injuring people just not mattering due to CoH it's really really hard to still find it enjoyable.
