The forums will absolve your sins.

Only if it's done by the killer throwing themselves on a hook and the entity takes them away.
-
As ridiculous as suggesting survivors need guns is there are still people insisting nemesis should have a rocket launcher so atp ######### it give everyone a fire arm and let's have Call of Duty: Horror Edition.
As for the shattered hope itself I kinda think it's a massive waste along the lines of calm spirit for survivors. Is it really strong when it's relevant? Yes. Is that gonna be every or even most games? Not even close. I don't think it'll be run much except by the killers that are still scarred by original CoH.
-
What you're not considering is that they love the game for them and they arn't really considering anyone else. Possibly they love it because this game is unique in the way it let's you bully other people.
Thus leading to the dozens of arms race style threads on here about the other side being awful and how you should try to make them as miserable as possible. Which is funny to me because they don't seem to see how similar they are to each other.
Which this all stems from the stomp or be stomped nature of the game and I could go on and on about the effects and causes of that but this has all been talked about before although nobody has qn answer to any of it.
Honestly for such a simple game it's impressive how many different aspects of the psyche dbd is able to tap into.
-
A tier for sure.
Good mobility, Good antiloop, good map pressure.
Dredge chases on average are gonna be too long to make them S tier but if survivors play inefficiently it's gonna hurt because you can only keep Dredge at bay with locked lockers for so long but still very beatable by a well coordinated team.
-
S tier pretty widely agreed upon
Pinhead mega slept on, best 1v4 in the game and the chain is great at loops if you you control the pallet or for keeping people from making windows. I think he gets a bad rap because he's incredibly grindy and to play them well you often get 10-20 minute games which most people don't wanna do.
Dredge more or less has everything a killer could want with mobility and antiloop they're just a bit map dependent with locker placement and dealing with a lot of locked lockers wastes a lot of time.
Bubba I think we have to accept is very good and can have extremely short chase times if survivors are careless.
Oni is overrated IMO. Beginning of the the game you're basically trapper and it can take a while to actually get anything going, they basically live and die by the snowball.
Executioner is also a bit overrated. Antiloop is on the weaker side being tormented isn't that big of a deal and also has the worst add-ons in the game.
Take huntress range with bubba quick chase time and you get trickster except they have a terrible version of both these things. Luckily both those things are still strong in principle enough for B tier and main event can win games if the stars align.
Deathslinger while much weaker than they were before does have one of the better 1v1 games still which keeps them from being complete garbage.

What is fair about anything I mentioned about his anti-loop? Demo at least needs to be somewhat precise on his shreds and he gets punished pretty hard for missing a shred.
The extra health state hardly matters when all the vaccines are gone in the first two minutes and even with the 3rd health state, he closes in hits so fast that it hardly matters. I can run a killer for awhile if I'm able to actually use my experience in the game and use proper mind games and positioning, but Nemesis just pulls out his whip at pallets and vaults and suddenly nothing matters. Its just like DH, it ignores player skill and mindless.
If all the vaccines are gone immediately that's something you and your team are doing wrong because that should not be happening. Like if you're taking vaccines the second you get contaminated that's just playing poorly.
Nemesis is fair because they have no mobility they just have the whip and they have to upgrade tiers. So if you're spreading out well doing gens should not be an issue. I'm not sure if you realize it but you can duck the whip at high loops and hitting the whip is much harder if the survivor hugs the killer so Nemesis absolutely has counterplay.
-
Nemesis is probably next to Demo as far as fair and balanced killers go, yes Nemesis is good at loops and that's his thing but you have an extra health state he has to build up his power and the zombies stare at walls half the game.
If you're struggling against Nemesis that's a you thing tbh.
-
The answer is always thicc.

Give me 200k bloodpoints for being camped and I’ll stay
Low key I actually kinda feel like this would be a good way to fight camping. If they knew they were benefiting the survivor in such a massive way they might not do it lol.
-
Unlinking cosmetics.
-
Clown isn't even the worst killer what in the world?
-
Because what would that even look like?
Either gens are getting done or they're not, people are getting hooked or they're not.
I do recall a game that kinda felt like what you're describing it was plague game on chapel and I was all set to get an easy 4k but between unbreakables them playing somewhat immersed and MULTIPLE self unhooks it turned into only a 3k. What stood out was they got an insane amount of 2nd chances though at the same time it didn't punish me that much and I was still able to keep myself from getting gen rushed to #########. The result was a very long game I think it was like 18 minutes and the fact of the matter is DBD just isn't setup to last that long on average and are usually much shorter which I think is why the stomped or be stomped feeling is there because the games feel so quick.
I do wonder if setting the game up to have longer trials would help the toxicity problem somewhat because both sides would at least try to do their own thing and not every mistake would feel so punishing. The problem is that would have the side effect of making the grind even longer and it's already ridiculous.

Most I feel like new Haddonfield is pretty good the new houses give some phasmophobia vibes.
Least is probably Red Forest I'd literally chill there.

How is it overvalued to pay 15 bucks a month and have TONS of new and old plus original content available to me whenever I feel like it? Are you poor?
Because I prefer to watch shows that are actually good.

Okay, so if the pre nerf Freddy is considered Old Freddy. Then whats the pre rework Freddy?
I´m honestly confused.
The Freddy that time forgot.
-
You could beat old Freddy too but his kill rate was so unbalanced they were nerfed, now escape rates with DH is too high and now that will be nerfed.
It turns out nerfs happen on an as needed basis and no side needs to give anything in return like we're negotiating the Treaty of Versailles.
-
No
-
You can beat any of those killers without DH though? I don't understand the logic.
-
The zombies are a mixed bag, they're more a detection system than another way to get downs. It's important to keep in mind they're drawn by noise and this includes loud noise notifications making perks like discordance and tinkerer very good on nemmy if you want zombies to pressure gens. Yellow Wristband with The Yellow Eyeball is a great combination but I'll admit without add-ons the zombies can be lackluster at times.
Lethal Persuer is actually a very good perk just not on nemmy. But put it on a wraith or billy or even cenobite and you can get extremely good value from it.
The rest I generally agree with.

Yeah... no. Cenobite never has been higher than C tier. His 1v1 doesn't exist and his 1v4 is in the Survivor's control. He basically has no direct Powers.
Nemesis has a garbage early game, granting Survivors 3 (4 with Dead Hard) Health States, 1 Vaccines for everyone, and 2 non-functional Zombies that get stuck in corners.
I don't know what you were taking when you said that Twins were ever S tier, but I want it, and they didn't get nerfed just a little bit, they got removed from the game. They dropped from A tier all the way down to C tier thanks to their unnecessary cooldowns and CoH
Just because you don't know how to play them doesn't make them bad. Not sure if it's still happening but cenobite was seeing fringe tournament play and twins were very common in tournaments before the nerf.

Now it is called a "tech" when someone misses their pounce and bounce back and get a hit by pure luck?
I have seen basically everything you can do in this game be called a tech at some point or another from putting a bear trap in a specific spot to literally just tapping a gen, it's pretty incredible.
-
Two stacks when coming out of the TV near someone is an option and maybe the tape only gets rid of two sticks Instead of three.
I don't think it should be a thing every match cuz a built in mori that ignores hook states is very powerful but as is now you basically have to play extremely carelessly as a survivor for it to pose any sort of risk to you.
-
That's too bad about demo they're probably perfect for you, they don't rely on add ons, nobody hates them, and they do everything (mobility power and a chase power).
You could find a code for the chapter I think on some sites that sell keys but being that they're 3rd party I don't think that I could link them on here but getting demo still isn't impossible
-
I don't think anyone hates demo.
If you missed out on them it's a bit harder but I feel like Myers is generally well liked if you're not doing Tombstone or infinite t3.

Of course it's not only because of sbmm but you support it yourself when you are complaining about many posts being made about it. Doesn't that affect you at all? there is a reason there are so many post about it where people say they hate it.🤙
So this has nothing to do with what I just wrote but okay.
As someone who remembers countless games of learning killer years ago and being grey and yellow rank and going against game after game of pure red rank teams or red/purple teams I find complaints about sbmm hilariously stupid. You can complain about how sbmm was implemented cuz I would agree it could have been and should be implemented much better (it turns out DBD isn't anything like hockey) but I see it's existence overall as a good thing.

Explain the chart to me love
I'd be happy to.
Okay so for literally the first 3 years of it's existence DBD had many ups and downs and struggled to stay above 20k average players, it took a massive license like stranger things to push it over just over that hump.
DBD survived on 3 years on a fluctuating over under average of 20k so keep that in mind as we keep going. So DBD is at a very stable 23k average for about 6 months from September 2019 to February 2020 and that seems to be it's ceiling.
BOOM! 32k in March BOOM! 40k in June. A game that hadn't grown it's playerbase by 10k in nearly 4 years grew by 17k in just 4 months. The double hit of a global pandemic and obtaining Silent Hill back to back artificially inflated the numbers of this game to insane levels.
Then add RE the next year on top when we're still not fully out of the pandemic and forget it DBD starts hitting the top of the steam charts. But that was never a real number, as we come back from a pandemic and the high of big licenses wears off we come back to DBD's true numbers.
My guess is we still have more to fall and accounting for growth it normally should have gotten we'll probably settle around 26 or 27k. DBD isn't dying it's just not as big as a lot of people who recently came in thought it was. This isn't slight against it it does very well as a niche horror game and I'm sure it will in the future for at least the next couple years.

Cenobite, Nemesis, Twins would like to have a word with you
A tier killer, B tier killer, S tier killer that's been nerfed to low A high B tier
-
Sadako and Trickster are literally the only 2 weak killers released in the past two years, gimme a break with these dramatics lol.
Not every killer can be S or A tier.
-
Oh look another thread made by another person who doesn't know how to read charts.
-
Look at the steam charts again and look when the explosive growth happened and see if you can figure out why what you said was extremely ignorant.
-
I wish I had a more inspired answer than "people suck" but not sure there is one.
Anyone who says they do it as a form of protest pertaining to the game is full of it tbh and just looking for a cover.
-
The gap is funny yeah but if you're never ever getting merciless killer seems like a skill issue.
-
This game would die so fast if they stopped pumping out content. The game has a repetitive game play loop so you need that influx to keep things fresh.
The game isn't actually in that bad of a state they just need to create a fix for strats that make the game unfun and buff other aspects as needed.
-
I literally don't have the patience to slug for the 4k I usually just look for hatch after the 3rd person dies and either I find it and force egc or I don't and I force them through the hatch. But yeah I never gift hatch either I don't get why you would when most people act the way they do. Literally just giving up BP so someone can be rude to you post-game.

i meant the newer survs, definitely didn’t include Claudette, Meg or Nea with successful. They were more everyday-people for sure.
Feng seems to be very successful as a pro gamer and pretty famous.
Yun-Jin was super successful before any of the murders happened. Though i do definitely like her backstory for having a different take.
Mikaela, sure, may not be conventionally successful but her stories and readings seem to mean a lot to her and are making her kinda locally famous?
Zarina seems to still be pretty successful as a reporter as far as i remember. Also in her personal life she overcame so much and made it.
also. I guess half of them (including the original ones here) have those side-cut, cool, flashy/colorful hair cosmetics (that’s what I meant with styles)
I am 100% with you in that I have no idea what BHVR's obsession with side buzz cuts are.
Part of me thinks they just don't wanna model hair lol.

Executioner, Freddy and Doctor.

all of them are young, attractive, successful. Almost all of them are skinny/very fit with exception of Jane.
they are doing a great Job in diversity when it comes to nationalities/ethnicities but other than that.. body types and age as well as styles (well that one is debatable)
"Successful"
Meg is a hothead prone to delinquency
Claudette struggles with fitting in socially and while not explicitly stated possibly could be autistic
I'm pretty sure Nea killed a guy
Feng is incapable of any function that isn't gaming
Kate, Jane, Yui are successful to different extents but have had their own struggles
Yun-Jin's success is based on promoting a serial killer that she has to pretend she's not on the verge of figuring out.
Mikaela has zero clue what she's doing with her life.
Zarina is basically smeared by the media every chance they get and gets none of the credit she deserves.
I'm not sure what people are on about with every female survivor being the same tbh.
-
FWIW regardless of the knowledge we do or do not have I'm still enjoying the teasers.
-
I quite like going against Huntress the problem is how common she is, if I face too many in a row I kinda get bored cuz I wanna use different parts of my brain.
-
I would imagine if that was going to happen it would have already.
Also probably not because only Netflix is that dumb and overvalued itself that highly the rest probably know it's a good deal for them.

But a murderer IS great representation?
Weird line in the sand.
Killers are evil, dude.
Calling killers like Twins, Plague, Wraith, Artist, Spirit hell even Slinger to a certain extent evil is a bit of a stretch if you actually understand their lore.
-
Imagine running Left Behind when Clairvoyance exists.
-
Nah I've played plenty of other games and not even counting just this genre but DBD is the one I always come back to. I don't think I'd ever say DBD is my favorite game (that honor goes to and probably always will be Bloodborne) but it is the game I've been able to consistently enjoy for the longest amount of time.....ignoring the 3-4 times I've uninstalled, IT'S A COMPLEX RELATIONSHIP OKAY.
-
Otz plays a lot of cheryl and jill when he plays survivor. Some others that I know of;
Meg - Cahlaflour
Claudette - JRM
Jake - Demi before they started playing Yoichi a lot
Nea - Ayrun
Laurie - Anna Chess
Ace- Truetalent
Feng - Dowsey
-
Survivor: Calm Spirit
Botany Knowledge
Head On
Boon: Shadowstep
Calm Spirit and Botany cuz I love nature Head On and Shadowstep because depending on the situation I can switch between being confrontational and direct or easily not being noticed and being really quiet.
For killer I'd probably have some full hex totem gtfo of my forest build and have a bunch of Hatchets like Huntress.
-
Tbf on the flipside we've had threads that asked forum members how they would balance the game and the result was far worse than anything bhvr has done. It turns out your average forum member is way better at complaining than balancing.
-
People in here acting like the whole team isn't gonna kill themselves throwing themselves at the hooked survivor anyway.
-
Whenever topics like this comes up I feel like Yui's tome lore is relevant to the topic. Where her grandma tells her she can not really care about anything and just win but with just caring about efficiency they're just a "machine that wins".
I think it applies here because if you're just doing the same thing over and over are you using your brain at all? Did you create an interesting experience to think about? Are you challenging yourself in any way? The answer to all these are of course no. None of this happened and what's being done would easily be replicated by a bot and for the survivors well there's nothing really for them to do other than either walk into slaughter or slam gens then leave neither of which is interesting.
I'm not going to say you're playing wrong or inefficiently the opposite obviously it's effective, what I would argue is nothing worthwhile is happening in any of your games.
