Because MMR doesn't know what to do with a person with no rating? It's that way for all SSBM games that use elo style rating systems which I'm not positive DBD uses but it sure seems like it does.

Oh absolutely not, but I promise DBD isn't as bad as it can get. Not even close.
Sure? But on a daily basis I already get some combination of face camped, tunneled out of the game, left to die by 3 healthy teammates none of which are on death hook, t bagged, "ggez bb killer", told to kill myself, to get good, to uninstall, and general death wishes.
So when someone goes "oh well you don't want that other gaming community to come over to this game" excuse me if I roll my eyes as hard as I can.

Yeah, it will.
FNAF's horrid community and awful reputation follow it around. No way BHVR wants that near them after the NFT debacle.
And DBD is this shining beacon of what a healthy community looks like?
-
BTW that's not to say I don't want FNAF in DBD I actually do if for no other reason than I find the people who cry about it hilarious and want to see the blow up from it being confirmed, I just don't think this is it.
I wouldn't expect a teaser until next month at the earliest.
-
It is now obvious the next killer is J. Jonah Jameson who attacks survivors demanding pictures of the spider people from the last tome who he has confused with Spiderman.

Exactly people don't know how to read the line graph it's obvious they watched their favorite streamer misunderstand the graph for so long they believe it now.
Atp I feel like dbd content creators say this ######### for clicks not even caring about the accuracy.
"Okay as you can see here these numbers are red and red is bad so we have to ask Is dBd DyINg?! Plz like comment and subscribe for the answer"

"Look at steam charts"
Is quickly reaching meme status.
-
5 maybe a 6?
Looking to grind out 2k shards to get vigil off the shrine before it's gone but after I'll probably take another break.
I find I can't play for long periods of time without getting frustrated with the game as a whole so I'm kinda in a cycle where I'll take a month break then play for about 7-10 days then take another break. I still have fun with the game it's just in small bursts now cuz it sours very quickly.
-
This is exclusive to Plague but if I'm playing Plague I might switch targets I'd I see someone not infected splash them and then go back to what I was doing.
Other than that I wouldn't really as it makes no sense. Not sure why it happens other than the wanting to not get called a tunneler or something like you said. Which is pretty silly idk why Killers care so much about what Survivors think of them, spoiler they're the opponents they don't want you to do well or play optimally so if they're salty you probably did something right.
-
TFW you know who made a thread before clicking it lol.
That aside I feel like Spirit and Sadako would be chill with each other since they're both vengeance ghosts.

I keep hearing people say she's not the worst. Like what killer is worse than Onyro, who?
Clown, Trapper, Wraith, Pig, Myers, Freddy
-
She's way better for sure but still very mediocre, playing against her she comes off as more annoying rather than an actual threat.

Well. Your hours ar not even close to mine in this game but you are the one trying to be an expert creating so many posts! I AM ACTUALLY laughing πππππ
This forum is dead by noob killer mains π Get gut
At first I was excited for the response but this doesn't even have any effort put into it. =/

Too bad the name and the new account gives away their intentions.
True and the random caps lock but that's a classic.
My favorite part is when they suggested merciless storm is anything except a meme.
-
As far as bait troll posts go I will give some credit, this one was kinda funny to read.
-
It's copium.
Their fragile egos can't handle losing so naturally their response is to go "come cowshed 1v1".
-
I have no interest in the source material or the killer's mechanics and the none of the perks seem good enough to build around so this is gonna be a skip from me.

It'd be cool but I prefer night maps. Also, the ink stuff that's all over the place on Eyrie would probably be there which wouldn't really fit it, plus it'd make life for Trapper mains even harder. I agree that it being in the red forest isn't ideal though.
I see your point here with the ink but I think you could just say it's entity goo which with plague being the killer most devout to it and ready to do what it says it would make sense being in the realm with the strongest entity presence in the map.
The day map stuff yeah I get a lot of people don't like that for a lot of reasons and that's valid, I can't really tell anyone their preference is wrong.

Well it's a temple not a pyramid.
....
Plague is either Sumerian or Babylonian both of which were Mesopotamian societies which were located in what is now present day Iraq.
-
I don't know if they actually do it but every so often I'll have people accuse me of cheating and having wall hacks when I have a good game and have little down time between chases because for some reason potato survivors can't comprehend they're not as good at hiding as they think they are.
-
I can't remember the last time I saw exposed come up and it wasn't noed.
The rest of the perks arn't even unfair or in Rancor's case even good.
Devour encourages good game play and can be cleansed.
Starstruck counters Sabo teams and beamers and doesn't do much against everyone else.
Rancor doesn't even come up until end game and is only for one person.
Haunted Grounds is more or less in the control of the survivors.
So no I don't think exposed is overly relied upon. Unless your Myers or Ghostie but then that's just part of their kit and they're considered some of the weakest killers.
-
Probably and I'd probably have a lot of fun, I still remember that learning phase of trying a bunch of killers for the first time and being thrown into all those mechanics at once and loving it.
Then I'd figure everything out and get jaded all over again lmao.
-
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
-
It's nice playing Plague.
CoH? Never heard of it.
-
Plague Blight and Trapper. You'd see the entities influence throughout history kinda like pinhead in hellraiser 4 but not terrible.
-
Devotion 7 level 10
I thought my devotion was quite high but I guess not. o-o
-
I've been thinking this was a possibility for a while and it could be cool but also slightly dreading the possibility as an arachnophobe.
I could probably deal as long as the mouth isn't too spidery idk why that part freaks me out the most. The potential for such a killer is pretty interesting with the ability to block or slow certain areas with webbing.
-
But I have to farm WGLF stacks while not using BT and then not understand why I'm not getting WGLF stacks. :(
-
Idk if you understand how pentimento works? When you rekindle a totem the hex is not "back" it just makes gens 30% slower which is adding 25ish seconds to a gen which is decent but not unbeatable by any means.
CoH meanwhile can be relit any number of times and makes letting an injured survivor ago and trying to split pressure just straight up detrimental at times.
Also can we not act like the killer taking time to stomp a boon isn't in the survivor's favor? Any time the killer is doing that is time no survivor's are being pressured. You generally only do it if you down or hook a survivor in the boon area and it's not out of the way.
-
Claudette's are not the most Toxic in game per se but they are usually the first to start crying in post game chat if they don't escape I find and personally I find that worse.
-
I forgot bullying in this game didn't exist before CoH.
Also Unbreakable? Really? Nobody is bullying you with Unbreakable, you took a chance on the slug and got burned. You could always do this crazy new killer strat called picking up the survivor and hooking them and then their perk is magically countered and useless.
-
I mean you're not wrong but that's the fault of the devs not the players the players are just using the tools available to them and trying to play optimally.
Going by the last QnA they're aware of the problem though and seem to experimenting internally some solutions. That being said if they do kill that strat (which they should) killers either need a buff or a lot of 2nd chance perks or survs probably need the nerf bat and I have a feeling they're gonna do their "wait and see tweak the game as needed" thing rather than actually using some foresight for once so killer might become even more unbearable before it gets better.
I think making some form of BT basekit like they've hinted at is the wrong way to go personally and I'd rather they encourage killers to play in a way that's more fun while not destroying their chances at winning. I don't know if a basekit BBQ is the way to go but it's an idea, BP multiplier for hooks in a row before anyone dies.
-
More monster killers, tired of the same ghosts and slashers every chapter.
I don't care if it's a werewolf, xenomorph, killer bug or w/e just something along those lines.
-
Comparing numbers to years ago makes no sense. Years ago this game did not have RE, years ago this game did not have Silent Hill, years ago this game didn't have hellraiser and I could go on.
What does it say when instead of retaining new players by bringing in big new licenses they retain basically nobody even lose a couple core players? Is DBD dying no ofcourse not but being unable to retain players no matter what license you get is unequivocally a failure.
-
This thread is making me realize the community has no idea to fix the the things they complain about on a daily basis and should not be anywhere near a balance team lol.

Thank you, how does the box work? Does it respawn on hooking someone? What does the box itself allow you/survivors to do?
It It spawns beginning of the game and then respawns either 10 seconds after you pick it up or 30 if they try to solve it and you teleport or 45 seconds if they actually solve it and it will always spawn as far away from everyone as it can.
There's a 90 second timer around the survivor portraits when it fills up the chain hunt will start meaning random chains start harassing all 4 survivors which keeps them from doing much of anything and is how you create pressure mostly. They have to solve the box to keep the chain hunt from happening and if it gets solved it will reset the timer and stop the chain hunt. If you pick up the box however all 4 survivors will scream telling you where they are and a chain hunt begins instantly.
If you see a yellow circle around a survivor portrait that means they picked up the box and chains will only harass them instead of everyone and if you down that survivor before they can solve the box you automatically pick up the the box and start the chain hunt on everyone. Keep in mind when a survivor picks up the box they become oblivious and will hear a music box instead of your terror radius and if they start solving you'll get killer instinct telling you where they are. You should try to stop them with a chain if you're close and down them but if they're far away I would actually say teleporting isn't worth it most of the time unless they're injured.
-
If you wanna learn box spawn logic (and you do) forget hoarder/franklin they're overrated you want lethal pursuer or BBQ to get an idea of where the first box is or where the box might be after you hook someone.
It's usually away from everyone but farther away from you then the survivors.
For example:
1 2
3 4
For example say those numbers represent the corners of the map and you spawn at 3 and survivors spawn at 1 the box will likely be around 2 somewhere. if you spawn at 1 and the survivors at 1and survivors at 4 it's harder to know but more likely 2 than 3 as 3 is closer to 1 than it is. This is the type of logic the box generally follows.
EDIT: The numbers were stretched out more when I was typing just imagine that makes a rectangle lol.
-
I don't know that anyone is calling it OP (if they are they're wrong) it's very beatable it's just the way you beat it is incredibly boring.
People hate twins because they encourage slugging and that isn't fun but then survivors put on boil over and go "it's not OP just slug" like we don't know that. We do we just prefer not to and thought you did too considering all the Twins bitching but okay I guess that was wrong.
-
@Tr1nity said:
I canβt tell if this is bait or not
I think it is because they're suggesting slugging is bannable.

I was hoping this was going to be an update about the progress of the hillbilly space program. :(
-
And I've cherished those 73 days.
-
I always find the "young fanbase" argument against FNAF hilarious when there's a ton of kids playing DBD like look in the gd mirror lmao.
The "it's an insult to horror" argument is pretty funny too when people are questioning if DBD is a horror game or say how little scares are involved pretty regularly.
-
As survivor: Spent half the game hiding in the basement lol
As killer: Sadness until I got good. I don't know if I had any specific habits I just didn't know how to mind game or use any power effectively.
-
I honestly find the fatigue mechanic obnoxious even when playing nurse well so I have no interest in learning the character.
-
Been running Agitation/Iron Grip/Pain Resonance/Starstruck on Pinhead lately and haven't lost a game all day. Makes all these boil over squads a joke so there are counters to it.
-
I've looked at the steam charts and you can clearly see it's time to nerf the Twins.
-
Pinhead and Plague although I've recently taken an interest to Trapper.
-
This thread made me realize a couple things about the hook argument that I hadn't before.
- You're right that killers that arn't bad per se but just like to grief or just want easier games will actually be encouraged to tunnel and camp even more to de-rank like punishment isn't actually punishment to these people.
- People are figuring out ways to "fix" SBMM but if SBMM is working it's always gonna lead to sweaty games for both sides which is what everyone complains about so I don't think these fixes people are coming up with would do what they think they are. This isn't even a problem of SBMM just any attempt at balance is going to cause this.
I don't know that just kills are the solution but I don't think hooks solve the problem either. I honestly think the problem isn't even balance this point now but "feel". There are a lot of killers that can do okay but feel bad to play just as there are perks on both sides that are fine win percentage wise but feel terrible to play against, I think those things should be the priority instead of SBMM.

Yes, hook denial has never helped me escape a game before. Nope. Not at all. Boil Over is very weak, please keep it the way it is...
I've just been bleeding them all out so no it hasn't although I guess technically you could argue it's letting one or two of their teammates escape but I don't think that's their intention.
-
After playing against boil over more I still don't think it's a "good" perk in the sense it won't help you escape the trial but it does make games downright miserable to play. I can bleed the person out on the ground and still pick up another kill or two after that but omg is it boring so just kinda wondering how tf whatever early game mechanics they were testing were not fun but they decided this was creating fun and engaging gameplay.
