Thissss x100
If the killer who is 1 vs 4 has to go through a 2 second animation to start the gen regressing, survivors should have to repair it for more than 0,01 seconds to stop that regression.
Then don't just blindly kick gens when theres quite obviously survivors nearby waiting to tap it. Be smart.
Gen kicking is actually a highly effective tactic IF you use it correctly. Kick gens in situations where you can either protect the gen or guarantee it won't be touched for a certain period without forcing a survivor to go out of their way to tap it.
-
The whole reason it's being removed is because a bunch of whiny people on the forums got hit by it and instead of learning how to counterplay it they made their voices heard, and now the devs have decided to remove it.
The idea that it removes counterplay is utter nonsense. If you want to talk about killers removing counterplay why aren't we talking about the 50% of other killers in this game who have extremely limited counterplay?
Oh and why is oni allowed to strafe along walls, get more turning AND have a much better flick than blight but that's fine?
-
@ClownIsUnderrated said:
If it's not allowed in the game itself, than it needs to be dealt with. Honestly I'm gonna say this, people who abuse the J flicking with Blight and stretching their screens for advantages are just straight up bad at the game. The tryhards in this game like to abuse both of them, and therefore honestly are what ruin the game for other people.
So you think that vsing blights who can J-flick ruins ur experience? Sorry i'll go play spirit instead and give you a funner experience.

Blight is intended to have a hard cap on his lunge radius while in rush
Having a high DPI breaks this restriction put in by the devs on purpose as a balancing tool for blights insane mobility
There has never been a cap on his lunge. It's not like people are breaking this so called "cap" to do this. THis is just what happens when you use a higher sense for ANY character.
Also Why is nurse allowed to literally teleport through walls and spirit allowed to move at insane speeds WHISLT invisible without any caps on their turning etc then? That makes no sense.

Bound to sensitivity, which can also accommodate for lower sensitivity console players allowing them to turn their cameras faster, allowing them to do the same survivor tricks as their PC fellows, though it is still a bit harder, it's not impossible.
I feel like you're trying to forge an argument that just... isn't there.
For every 50 times i've been spun by a pc player, i've been spun by probably 1 console player if you're lucky. You're not seriously telling me spining on console is the same as pc?

You can't blame people for that if almost all of them didn't even knew that something like this even exists in the first place.
So Hunter tech is the same thing you already did against a curve billy,right?
That's the problem then right, people are complacent and don't comment/know about this stuff until they see a few forums posts or something and then they jump on these bandwagons without doing their research.
Yea it is pre much.

Yeah it's actually kinda silly that this thread says j-flicking is balanced
Then says it puts Blight on the same tier as Nurse and Spirit, two killers who's powers break the game in one way or another.
Nurse is fine though. And the reason i'm defending blight being this strong is because hes one of the few strong killers whos actually there for the RIGHT reasons, in that they are strong AND balanced/fair.

Spinning in a circle as survivor isn't even bound to the mouse, so you're straight up lying. It's bound to the buttons.
You can't turn ur camera fast enough to spin well though if you have low dpi. Look at any good survivors out there and the way they spin. They ALL turn the camera incredibly fast.
-
@MadLordJack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070380#Comment_2070380
if you're good at Blight, J-flicking is extremely simple and easy. And it's still, by definition, and exploit with no counterplay.
You talk about not wanting to go agasint Spirits and Freddy's? A a j-flicking Blight is in the same catagory.
How can you even compare spirit/freddy to a jflicking blight? They are the complete opposite. One takes the highest amount of skill in the game and has counterplay. The other too take the least amount of skill and have the least amount of counterplay.
-
@thefallenloser said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070397#Comment_2070397
Not even a valid comparison as the devs intentionally programed the survivors to move the ways that they do. This was reaffirmed after the locomotion update. J-flicking Blight is unintended, impossible for more than 50% of the playerbase, and goes against the clearly defined restrictions and counterplay that was put in place.
So no, it's not fair. Try again.
Spinning as survivor is impossible if you have low dpi. And there's never been a cap on blights flicking it's always been based off of ur sens. So this argument makes no sense.
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070439#Comment_2070439
Well,that's because more and more people hear about the j-Flick because of various content creators.
I didn't even know there's a third party software that makes easier to track you with spirit but nobody will argue that this isn't blatant cheating
And nope,never heard of the "Hunter tech".What is it?
Nobody will argue it's not cheating ur right. But no one's calling for it to be changed, and it's not, so people are basically letting it be part of the game.
It's where you take it wide after you turn a corner and if the blight tries to flick it he'll completely miss.
-
@Brokenbones said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070463#Comment_2070463
Man nobody's saying playing with high DPI is the exploit
The exploit is using High DPI let's you bypass a restriction put in place on purpose by the devs.
This argument doesn't make any sense tho.
There was never any restrictions on flicking. It has alwasy been based of your sensitivity. It's the same with anything, how far you can turn your camera is based off of ur sens. There's never been a cap on blights actual flick, and his turning is capped regardless of whether you use high dpi or not.

Because I don't experience these exploits, and no one talks about them. I'd never have known about the J-Flick if I didn't see that forum post a while ago about it. The reason no one talks about them is that no one talks about them.
And i'd like all these silly dumb exploits fixed. The cool ones that improve the game, i'd like implemented-- maybe like the J-flick. I'm not against the usage, just annoyed that people refuse to admit it's an exploit for some bizarre reason.
Just #########' own it, man.
If it makes you happier sure we can call it an exploit. But that doesn't justify why it should be removed, when it doesn't create anything unbalanced or broken.

It will.
Knowing i play blight for nothing when he gets that nerf,
then no killer would come close to literally competing with Spirit,
And yes. due to the J-flicks. blight DOES compete with her,
Exactly.
J flicks actually put blight at spirit tier, but for the right reasons. Not being able to deny fundemantal game physics.

But you see no-one talks about this stuff. They kick it into the long grass and then try to make their case about why spirit is balanced.
Spirit exploits are something which completely break the game btw, literally nothing you can do if a spirit knows where you are. There is PLENTY of counterplay to J-flicks. Have you heard of the hunter tech?

The only reason I haven't made a bug report on the PH thing is because I don't want to make it even more widely known, I'm sure the devs know about it already
Look man I hear what you're trying to say at the end of the day, but whether you wanna call it an expoit, a tech or whatever the bottom line is it's not healthy for the game.
Do you remember The original Pyramid Head 'tech'? The one Otz popularised (I think) and it meant you could use his power and if you timed it right, could immediately go into a lunge with his sword in the ground? That was unintended and it was fixed as this should be.
The reason the ph on was removed however was because it was unbalnaced. That's what i think things should be judged upon, not just because some deve said it was not intended and then everyone starts using that as a reason to pick on it. Regardless of whether blight's flick is intended or not, it is protentially one of the hardest, if not the hardest, thing in the game to pull off. And one of the few things that you can continously get better at and improve in the game.

Because BHVR.
This isn't hard, man. Just call a spade a spade and stop trying to be right.
It's not just a bvhr issue tho, once again tho no-ones calling for these other things to be acted upon, even though they are thousands of times more problematic. I dont see people like you out there asking for changes to these things yet people are more than willing to jump on with the whole blight exploit thing.

PH's exploit should be removed 100%
So should stretched res.
And nobody calls spirit balanced
But none of these things have been acted upon. Theres no thousands of forum posts of ppl complaining that these are unfair. Spirits been in the game for what almost 3 years now?!
-
@Brokenbones said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070398#Comment_2070398
It's not 'balanced' at all though.
Expecting survivor players to predict a player is gonna use an exploit and then expecting them to use 'counterplay' to an exploit is ridiculous.
All you have to do to avoid it is dip to the left or right to avoid the lunge. Is that seriously too hard?
Then why is it okay for plenty of spirits to use third party software to track you and see where you are yet we are suppsoed to "learn how to counter that"?
-
@Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070387#Comment_2070387
Yes, it's an exploit. Categorically. There's plenty of other ones, and the J-flick is one of them.
I don't know why it's so hard for people to just admit they're using an exploit.
Well then why hasn't 360'ing been removed then? Or fatigue cancelling? Or ph's insta shoot exploit? No-one's calling for these thigns to be removed. It's just ppl jumping on the hate all skillful and balanced killers bandwagon, whilst simultaniously claiming that spirit is balanced.

Okay then where do you draw the line, exactly?
Does an exploit need to be 'game breaking' for it to suddenly not be okay?
The line is whether it is balanced or not. The same line which determines whether a killer shoudl be buffed or nerfed. There shouldn't be some imaginary new line drawn up just because something is not inteded by the devs.
-
@Phasmamain said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070370#Comment_2070370
It is unintended for blight to be able to turn that much when lunging out of a lethal rush
That doesn't make it an exploit tho. Fatigue cancelling as nurse is unintended yet thats been in teh game for ages. Window techs are unintentional yet theyve been in the game for ages. The point is there are so many unintended things in this game which are fine. If a game is only allowed to be played on the devs terms, then it would be incredibly boring. As there would be no room for creativity and you would be limited to the devs ideas.
-
@Brokenbones said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070370#Comment_2070370
Blight is not supposed to be able to do it, they limited his turning on purpose
Using DPI to bypass a restriction that the programmers intentionally put in place, is an exploit whether you like it or not. Mclean has even said not to get used to it
If they want this to be apart of Blight's power, then they'll make it so anyone can do it without needing to mess with external things like DPI and so on. It's not healthy for the game at all to have certain 'skills' that can only be used if you're willing to mess with your DPI/make macros and so on.
There's no real need to be spiteful about it
Going by ur logic, then there are millions of exploits in every single game. Look at smash, there are so many unintended features which ppl use in that game which are fundimentals to high level play.
You dont need to mess up your dpi to flick. You can get up to 120s on even low dpis.
-
@MadLordJack said:
If you have to J-flick, you aren't good. Sorry, but that's just how it is. A good Blight knows how to play M1 killer when they need to, and how to use his power in every single tile that isn't a short, round loop. And even how to use his power in some short, round loops.
I don't see how so many ppl can call J-flicking on blight as skillless yet the completely ignore half the other killer roster in this game which is actually braindead. Jflicking is not easy, it's not as simple as just changing ur dpi. Try it out. There's actual technique to it more than 90% of other killers in this game.
Good blights will never be playing m1 because then they arent using their power properly at all.
-
@Brokenbones said:
Are you implying Blight isn't balanced and that an exploit is the only thing that makes him so
That's a really bad statement and it's an insult to all the great Blight players who manage just fine without using an unintended exploit
It being fixed won't hurt the game in the slighest.
It's not an exploit. Are you saying if someone naturally plays a game on high dpi that they are exploiting?
Go ahead and get rid of one of the funnest things in the game to do, j-flicking, but enjoy all the spirits you get afterwards. I know forsure that if they kill j-flicking on blight ill swap to spirit. 2nd main in a row they've killed because they are "too op".
-
I find the problem with this topic is that people winge that they can't 4k the best teams as a weak killer say legion. This is just a ridiculous thing to say, because if you could consistently 4k the BEST teams with some of the WORSE killers, i don't see how that's balanced. Especially when there are plenty of high tier killers out there who CAN beat any team if you play them properly.
-

Blight still has to respect most loops. For example they do literally nothing vs a L T wall.
Spirit dumpsters L T walls, which are common ruins that most maps have and which take an extreme amount of time to loop through due to being essentially unmindgameable if the survivor plays it correctly.
Blight gets rid of the W meta problem, he is stronger than spirit over open ground. But spirit is still strong over open ground, and is strong in loops too. Clear no contest between the two, even if Spirit had counterplay and was merely really good inside loops she would be better simply because she has more tools overall. But in her current state, Spirit isn't just stronger, she is MUCH stronger.
If you're getting looped at a T L as blight then your not playing him right. There is absolutely no loop in this game he can't play exept for the occasional small loop on an indoor map, but that's just indoor maps so.
Spirit doesn't have as many tools as blight. She's also alot weaker without addons.

Stop drinking the kool aid. Blight is junk and to compare him to Spirit is ridiculous
I don't think you guys have actually seen a good blight then. What does spirit actually have over blight? The ability to occasionally down survivors faster than blight? Even then if the survivor plays well the spirit with have to phase at LEAST twice to down them which with a 15 second recovery + phasing time and over time wasters can stack up tremendously. Blight downs survivors way faster in a lot to circumstances, gets a lot more free hits, has 1000 times better mobility and map pressure.
There's a reason at comp level a lot of ppl swap out spirit for blight.
-
Blight is debatable stronger than spirit, so no we are not lacking in s tier killers. We are lacking in skillful killers.
-
Well i mean it's not the playerbases fault that so many things on killer side r just incredibly boring to vs.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
Flicks are exploits in this game. It should be removed, and so should all the other killers'. You're not supposed to have that kind of turning with those killers' abilities.
So blights flicking is broken but im guessing spirit is fine right?
-
I swear if this post gets blight's flicking removed...
You remove his flicking and he immediately looses a large amoutn of his strength. He's probably one of the healthiest killers in the game where the better player wins, like huntress and nurse. Sure it may not be an intentional feature but it works well, and in no way is it unbalanced. You want to talk about unbalanced, why aren't you calling for spirit or deathslinger or twins changes? But instead trying to destroy blight?
-
Replacing the busted houses with maze tiles is a good place to start.
-
Dying light can be good on killers who have early game pressure and can get downs fast. Like Billy, blight, nurse And stealth killers.
-
It's still useful to tell you how close you are to ending/winning the game. If it really annoys you that much, then just ignore it. It's actually very useful for tournament/high level playoffs.

Because unfortunately he's not. I enjoy and like Blight a lot. He's very fun and pretty decent.
Against equally good survivors though he's too easy to counter. Out of most the A tier he's probably the easiest killer to face when I'm on survivor.
Wdym. He's easily the third strongest killer even in comp again the highest level swfs. Arguably second if you ask me. Only thing spirit does better than him is end chases against the most insane survivors slightly faster.
-
It definitely would be nice to have some LGBTQIA+ characters and maybe some significance in the game. However what I do not and i'm sure many don't want to see is for it to be done just to make a political statement, and not actually crafting it into a good storyline or something.
But then there's also debates about whether it should just be a light touch or the main embodiment of a character, which is a tricky debate to get into. Bottom line is last thing you want is somethign like this to be rushed.

Nurse and Spirit. Possibly Freddy.
There's a plethora of A tier killers that are strong against average teams you'll queue up against, but would still get cleaned against good survivors.
You have a blight profile pic but u failed to mention that blight is more than capable of decimating any team. I'm upset :(
-
He's bad on this map, but not entirely unplayable. For me it doesn't affect how fast i get downs, just how much fun i'm having.

100% agree, not only is it extremely unoriginal to have yet another ranged killer, but it's ofcourse another disgustingly broken ranged killer. He makes deathslinger look like a very fun killer to vs.

@Irisora said:
Come on seriously.. no counterplay? He runs at 4,4 m/s and the use of his power can be denied as any other ranged killer. You literally have to play the same way as facing huntress. Its really that hard to expand your mind further and not rely only on pallets loops?
Exept you can dodge and outplay a huntress. There's no dodging or outplaying this character.

Blight. His power is incredibly unique, very different and highly skillful and rewarding, which is what we need killers to be like. This new killer is the definition of braindead gameplay. I would argue it's more braindead than old legion. Literally just spray and pray and zone ppl into infinity.

I’ve been having a great time this update, as either survivor or killer.
That's great that you might be (although idk how tbh), but 95% of players are having an awful experience this update and being turned more and more off from playing the game. I've stopped playing survivor altogether and jump on maybe for a couple killer games every few days or so. It's not fun stomping 90% of ur games now as killer just because of laggy hitboxes, poor animations and UI's which make co-ordination incredibly difficult for survivors. Also not foretting the UI clogs up far too much of ur screen as killer and scaling it down in settings makes other things almost impossible to read/see.
-
The game is pretty much dead for survivor atm, unless you want to bore urself to death with a painful and practically unwinnable experience.
