Saying new pain res is better then old pain res is being disingenuous at best, an outright lie at worst. Having survivors lose 25 percent progress 5 times will always lose to having survivors lose 15 percent progress 12 times. 100 percent lost progress is worse then 180 percent lost progress.

Moving on Pop mathematically isn't capable of being better then old pop total progress will always be more powerful then current progress. Hypothetically speaking, lets say a gen has exactly 25 percent progress. Old pop would drop it down to 0 percent progress, new pop would make it lose 7.5 percent from the pop, plus 5 percent more fron the kick itself, forcing the gen to lose exactly 12.5 percent. Not enough proof? Lets say that same gen had 75 percent progress? Old pop would drop it down to 50 percent, while new pop would drop it down by 22.5 percent, plus an extra 5 from the kick, bring it down in total by 25.5 percent. Thats more then old pop......until you realize that for new pop to be stronger then old pop, the gen must be at 75 percent finished or higher. Anything from 74 and below, old pop is stronger. Which mean, by default, old pop was stronger then new pop 74 percent of the time.

Combine both of these examples with Eruption, Call of Brine, and Overcharge being completely gutted, and I think I proved beyond a doubt that you were wrong about "new arguably better gen slowdown perks like grim, pain res, new pop, eruption"

You're assuming that games actually get 12 hooks which is very rare, often people die on first or second hook. The last 2 to 3 are negligable anyway because everyone is already dead. In most scenarios new painres is better because it does more damage early on and is alot more reliable.

Your maths is wrong in that 75% calculation because you didn't properly add the 5% base regression, so pop applies 30% of current progress deletion PLUS you get 5% more from that so it'd be over 27.5%. Most of the time your actually popping gens over 60% anyway so in those situations pop is either equal or stronger. When are you actually popping a gen with 15% progress that actually matters? This means new pop does more damage when you most need it.

You mentioned some perks that were nerfed and i mentioned some perks that were massively buffed but the gen speed nerfs happened before all of these perks were introdcued when there were alot less slowdowns in general, so my point is why would gen speeds need to be nerfed again considering removing some of these slowdowns would only return us to a pre CoB era with 90 second gens, not making slowdowns worse than they were when gens were nerfed.

Better??? What color is the sky in your world? Pain Res, Pop, and Eruption are all shadows of their former selves. Pain Res is 4 times per game instead of infinite times. Pop is current gen progress instead of total gen progress. And eruption is a shadow of its former self across the board. And you stand there saying they are "new arguably better gen slowdown"?? Stop talking. Just....stop.

I'm sorry this is a terrible take.

New pain res is still just as strong as old pain res, infact new pain res means you don't need to hook people many times as long as you hook someone once each you can camp them out and still get full value from the perk.

Old pop was 25% total progress of the gen. New pop is 30% current progress of the gen plus the additional 5% total progress from base kits. New pop is only worse if you're kicking gens with minimal progress, otherwise it's actually better.

Old eruption was completely broken so yes new eruption is not as strong as that, but it's definitely NOT a bad perk. Plus grim embrace dms all these new perks basically fill the roll of eruption except they're better.

  • They should but they havn't changed background player, grim embrace, pain res, that alien wall hacks perk and more so i wouldn't be expecting anything anytime soon.

  • You just try and waste their time by playing the distance game like you do vs all the new killers.

  • @Sandt1985 said:

If the slow down gets an across the board nerf AGAIN, then gen times need to be increased again. Its really that simple

No you're just trying to find excuses to give buffs to killers which don't need to happen.

When the second ruin and cob were finally nerfed as well as when pop was weaker for a time gen times were increased. But when all these new arguably better gen slowdown perks like grim, pain res, new pop, eruption, you name it were added, where were you calling for gen speeds to be reverted back to 80?

Killer power creep on the next level.

It's just obnoxious playing against at this point.. I had to turn off DBD for the night after getting five straight killers using Ultimate Weapon. If you are gonna play locker simulator at least play Huntress, Trickster, or Dredge. I am putting on Distortion and Calm Spirit until it gets reworked into a healthy state hopefully.

    April cannot come soon enough

There's so many broken perks these days but i wouldn't expect the devs to act upon it anytime soon, they seem to enjoy leaving these unbalanced things in the game for a good 6 months to a year for some reason, particuarly when killers get them. The perk should have been instantly nerfed it literally gives you wall hacks and removes stealth from the game.

The ambush buffs is NOT a gamechanger its a nothing burger if they made her dash addons basekit then it would kinda been gamechanging but no shes still heavily reliant on those addons to be decent at good loops

    image.png

You're telling me these 5 changes are nothing?????

Funny you mention this because the head trap timer change didn't even go through, that's how scared the developers are of even mentioning the word nerf and killer together because people lose their minds. So now its just straight up huge buffs and you can't deny it.

Some maps are improved, especially farm. But then you have things like crotus penn and the game which are still very unfair. Maps like autohaven have had the loops adjusted, but added clutter to screw over projectile killers. Also keep in mind, gen regression has been heavily nerfed since then. Loops for survivor are still incredibly strong on most maps.

HAHA you have to be joking if you seriously think farm maps are better for survivors now than they used to be. Cleary you have NOT played on 2018 thompsons house or rotten fields.

They added a few obstacles here and there on a few maps, if that's seriously throwing off your ability to play ranged characters you weren't playing ranged characters correctly in the first place.

Loops for survivors are so much worse than they used to be. Take for example all these new tiles such as the 3 lane which are alot worse than original jungle gyms. Windows on main buildings have been consistently nerfed and are a shell of what they used to be. The number of loops has dropped significantly. New maps like the nostromo have many garabge pallets in the rocks which you need to predrop and get lucky on a mindgame or you die, not even mentioning that 70% of killers now have chase powers anyway that negate all of this. This is ALSO not taking into account all of the killer buffs which have happened over the years to survivor speed boosts, killer recovery times, action times for killer, decreased vault speeds, removal of pallet vaccuum, removal of dh.

Oh and seriously you think gen regression is worse now than it used to be? In 2018 you had ruin and that was IT. 80 second gens, toolboxes which halfed gen times, brand new parts which did gens instantly, stronger survivor perks for gens such as prove thyself.

If you seriously think this then no amount of killer buffs will appease you.

Nope, I know this because I’ve been playing since 2018. It’s not map size so much as it is tile/pallet density, and the fact that the majority of loops favor the survivor-side. There’s so much clutter and random junk that prevent aiming-based killers from having the opportunity to take a shot. There’s also breakable walls, which 9/10 favor the survivor because the killer is forced to break them.

You can say that Huntress is strong, but the devs disagree with you. In fact they explicitly said in the patch notes that maps hurt her, which is why she is being buffed.

Huh so you're saying that tile/pallet density is better than it used to be in 2018 for survivors? And that loops are better for survivors now?

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3657805#Comment_3657805

Wesker can get hits at certain tiles that most killers can’t, plus he can force the predrop sooner. And yes, I think Huntress isn’t a viable killer, mainly due to awful map design locking her out of even being able to take shots. That’s why she is being buffed.

Predropping is the main reason that the majority of killers aren’t viable at high level. If survivors are playing safe and doing gens, the killer can’t catch anyone in a reasonable amount of time. That’s why Nurse is the best killer: she can force a mindgame at any tile/setup.

Force the predrop sooner? Either you predrop it instantly or it's not a predrop.

I might have agreed with you 4 years ago. Maps in dbd are completely different to what they used to be. We no longer have giant maps like mothers dwelling or temple of purg, nor do we have maps like cowshed or stuff. Huntress is stronger now than ever because maps are shrinking and shrinking fast. The Nostromo is currently the most recent and smallest map in the game. At some point excuses like this will need to be at least improved on or people will see right through.

Also when people use the phrase "viable killer" it tells me you've been brainwashed by tru3ta1ent.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGolXOXOTmQ

Any other killer with actual designed chase power can get a hit at strong tiles and against shift +w. It's so laughably bad how this is a buff... That being said, I think a fairer point is that there are specific layouts for connected tiles that even the strongest killers will struggle with regardless, if a surv knows the pathing. No, that doesn't make them bad killers per se, but the better ones will be able to overcome the obstacle easier than others with their kit.

Not every killer needs to be able to get a hit everysingle time at strong tiles, doing that encourages people to just hold shift w even more you realise.

Loops are so much better for iller now than they've been in forever that most loops have considerable opportunity for outplay even for someone with pigs level of chasing ability. Plus her chase ability literally isn't meant to be her strongest asset? Her main strength lies in her insane game stalling ability and stealth.

something being hardly a nerf, means it's a nerf. size or impact doesn't change the fact it's still a nerf. so, glad we agree that it's a nerf.

also means the survivor is more in control of which time they use. using their downtime on boxes is vastly less useful to me as the pig than time they can't afford to lose.

I hope I don't need to explain the concept that being forced into doing a thing is vastly different than doing it when the time is best for you...

The traps are EXTREMELY SLIGHTLY nerfed for ONE specific playstyle but the ambush and crouch is CONSIDERABLY buffed for ALL playstyles. This means it's a NET BUFF for pig.

Are we saying now that no part of killers are allowed to be nerfed full stop? Even if it should be changed or it's problematic?

You can say that you don't like the direction of the pig changes sure (which i strongly disagree with), but to claim this is a net nerf to pig is just wrong.

  • But hang on i can predrop the pallet vs wesker and huntress and blight does that make them bad killers?

  • @Alice_pbg said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3657338#Comment_3657338

traps last longer. means survivor have more time to take them off.

that means they can do more thing before taking them off without issue.

    it's a nerf by default

I'm sorry but its hardly a nerf most of the time. The number of pig boxes people need to search is completely UNCHANGED which means the amount of time survivors need to spend off gens running around is exactly the same. The only difference is they are less likely to die to some rng on big maps with the boxes spawning far away.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3657173#Comment_3657173

no. you can do that playstyle exactly the same because that playstyle doesn't care about this.

it's a nerf to pigs who just use their traps normally. which is most of them.

and a buff to the ambush. the nerf is bigger than the buff.

How is it a nerf to people who use their traps normally? The slowdown it provides Is completely unchanged.

The ambush being stronger is a game changer because it makes even more loops stronger for pig and her ability to use the ambush.

    "Devs don't care about survivors"

    Sure.

3 gen changes were better for killer 99% of the time unless your gameplan as killer is to just infinitely kick gens?

You listed 2 POTENTIAL changes that could be good for survivor. Would you like me to list the amount of changes good for killers recently? I fear that might be a neverending list.

  • Improving Killer Base Kits and reducing reliance on / power of addons is a good thing.

HOWEVER some of these changes are straight up buffs and crazy buffs. Clown having 6 bottles is just ridiculous, same with huntress and her ridiculous plefora of changes. Doctor changes are good however still don't completely remove the reliance on certain addons, just makes the addons better so what's the point?

It's not to skew the data, they just realized how busted Huntress is and there's no denying it. I would do the exact same because I didn't play the PTB to experience huge buffs to an already balanced killer that came from some random void that no one asked for until now apparently.

This is absolutely ridiculous that any of these huntress changes were even considered, it's completely broken. Her weakness's compared to deathslinger have all been completely midigated.

This is serious cherry picking and ignoring all the perks that have been buffed recently or a while ago which aren't gen regression perks.

Plus theres at least 15 - 20 good gen perks alone.

Yeah that's fair, I generally rate him more than most people. I just value the fact he can get VERY quick downs, and maps being smaller in general now and more zoney is really good for him. Might be a little biased from experience of him being very powerful in competitive.

As for his addons he's got some bad ones but far from the worst. Reload speed + cigar is really powerful and his mangle addons, insta down ones, and others are strong as well.

To be honest since i made this I would probably put alien above him.

  • @Malkhrim said:

TL;DR: the current meta is becoming more and more about gen speed vs gen slowdown, the STBFL nerf made it worse and a sloppy nerf would make it even worse. Killer meta is losing variety, leaving only the gen-related perks.

I will start this post by saying that, while you don't HAVE to play in the meta, right now the MMR is quite strict and, if you're an experienced killer who plays regularly, the chances of facing really skilled and/or committed survivors who play as efficient as possible and only bring the strongest stuff are higher than they have ever been. So playing off-meta feels more punishing now than it was in a long time, possibly the worst since the times before Ruin got reworked. In other words, the game is pushing people to the meta a lot more than it did before. Now, to the other issues:

GEN DEFENSE: recent changes are pushing the perk meta into being even more about gen speed vs gen defense. Seriously, it started when Pop and Deja Vu got buffed at the same time. The shift wasn't immediate, but once the MMR change got noticeable, people stacking Resilience, Deja Vu and toolboxes with BNPs became an insanely common sight, turning the meta into a tug of war between gen slowdown vs gen speed.

3-GENNING FIX: the fix itself was good, but there is a problem: the weaker gen regression perks got even weaker, pushing people to use more of the strongest instead. Oppression is even less worth it than before (there is a limit to regression events now, why would you bring a perk that only gives you a very small regression and you can't even control which gens it affects?), Eruption it's possibly in the worst state it has ever been and even Jolt got affected by this to an extent (why bring an 8% regression when you can use perks that give 30%, 20%, or block the gen instead of regressing it?). It also just replaced a bit of the gen-regression meta by a gen-blocking meta, it is still centered around gens.

STBFL: it was an unneeded nerf. There were only TWO chase perks that could be called meta, and the one that was better for M1 KILLERS, the weakest ones, got a pretty bad nerf. By the way, killer chase perks are not very good in general. There's not much of a reason to bring Brutal Strenght, Enduring, Fire Up, Hubris, Unrelenting or Dissolution instead of much better perks out there, unless you want to make a whole build around them, but this builds are mostly quite weak. STBFL was one of the few that actually made a difference and now it's nerfed, making the meta even MORE about gen defense than before.

MANGLED/SLOPPY: the whole Mangled status effect and Sloppy Butcher are going to get a change in the next patch, and it's probably a nerf. For anyone who doesn't know, Sloppy became an actual good perk when healing speed was nerfed back in 2018. Back then, gens were faster, toolboxes were much stronger, but the devs were against the idea of changing that, so they nerfed healing to give killers more chances to apply pressure instead, slowing the game down without slowing the actual gens. Even years later, even during the gen-kick meta, Sloppy was never considered problematic, it remained as one of the few options of slowing the game without stacking gen regression, and also a pretty good option for m1 killers and stealth builds (since it's great when paired with A Nurse's Calling), which are not very strong.

UPCOMING CHANGE: Now a nerf seems to be on the way, and to make things worse, I've seen a lot of people suggesting Mangled is about to become timed like blindness, exposed and other status effects. This is the WORST thing that could happen with Mangled, it would become terrible. It is timed because it's one of the few status effects that the SURVIVOR controls when it comes into effect. Exhausted and Blindness take effect immediatly, exposed is up to the killer chasing and trying to hit that survivor, Mangled and Hemorrage only do something when survivors decide to heal. Their counter is very simple: focus gens instead of healing. If it was timed, it wouldn't do anything unless the killer did hit-and-run tactics (since it wouldn't last after the unhooking), and even then, people would just wait a little before starting to heal and pretend the effect didn't even exist at all while the killer was chasing someone else. It would become just a worse, more pathetic version of deep wound.

If the nerfs keep going like this, at some point the top 10 most picked killer perks will be all gen slowdown perks except for BBQ and Lethal Pursuer, the most boring meta in a long time. Let's not forget: the latest data with STBFL among the highest pick rates is from BEFORE the nerf.

Slowdown perks have always been the most popular perks. But chase and movement speed perks are literally more popular now than theyve ever been so?

Also sloppy is a slowdown perk... It slows down healing

And what you brought up was not because of killers or just flat out wrong

Maps are due to devs which is survivor sided on some.

Killers can resurrect totems cause they made boons.

New killers are oppressive cause survivors dont know what oppressive is and the devs cant make an m1 killer that isn't screwed day one.

Also first the date doesn't matter its the same ######### and that last little bit also showed you are one sided and have never really played killer.

Welli have 4.5k hours on the the game and other 2/3rds r on killer, so no you cant use the "you dont play killer" excuse. And no i dont just main nurse or something like that.

Maps are way less surviovr sided than they used to be is that not true? RPD is a crappy and boring map or all sides not just killer. And this new map is quite balanced if not a lil killer sided because its extremely easy to spot survviros and theres alot of dead zones.

New killers are oppressive in chase whether you like it or not. If you know how to play any of these new killers to a somewhat decent extent you know that survviors can only last a certain amoutn of time inchase b4 they inevitably die and theres nothign you cna do about it, unless you hold w, which is another problme with the game.

I'd look for it myself but I have a day job and don't really care either way.

Even if it is 55% thats still astronomically better for killers than survivors.

All together cause if you checked each killer averaged around 50 to 60% unless it's nurse which is under 50%. Also yes it is survivor sided cause while certain things were removed others replaced them and if it Turely not as survivor sided let me ask you these then.

"What reason is there to make boons a better version of hexes?"

"Why did they have to nerf and gut certain killers while the survivor perk nerfs were minuscule or not even a nerf in the first place?"

"Why buff boil over without nerfing or at least tweaking survivor perks so we don't have more bully squad tools?"

"Why is there potentially going to be more nerfs to killers kit such as base kit bt or making camping another useless tactic much like hit and run thanks to boons yet give no real mention of making DH not a 'safety net' or making it so you can't bully/harass the killer much like how survivors want camping tunneling and slugging gone?"

"Why did the new wiggle mechanic give the survivors a small % boost when it was meant for accessibility?"

"Why has nothing been done for killers to compensate for that fact that now hooks have the potential to be useless given what has been shown with rpd?"

Like I said it is still survivor sided they just replaced the issues instead of removing them

What your doing is called nitpicking. I couldd do exactly the same thing ur doing for the killer side.

Why can killers now ressurect totem perks?

Why do maps have so many unsafe loops now?

Why are all of the new killers incredibly opressive in chase and easy for killers to play?

Also woudl you rlly rather play in 2016 than 2022 as a killer? Clearly you weren't around then and are used to the benefits which killers have these days. Killers played back in 2016 and you know what it was so much more difficult back then but they PERSISTED. They didnt complain about everysingle thing and they didnt blame every single loss on somethign out of their control. They got on with the job. So many killers these days have either such big egos or are entitled as hell to getting 4ks everygame.

All killers averaged up have a 70% kill rate accord to last statistics released by devs.

Maybe its time you looked at where the game has come from since 2016 and realised "oh wait, the game is nowehre near survivor sided like it used to be."

Things change, whetehr you want to believe it or not. This is not the 5000 pallets infinties sabo instaheal dbd that used to exist. Its more liek the 5000 slowdown killer perks plus stupid boon totems dbd now

They released those numbers (from december I believe) a lil while ago and while you can't read much into them the kill rate sits just above a 50% average and by the look of the numbers not significantly above. Although its raw count percentages so take with a grain of salt.

If you are going to make an argument with numbers then find the relevant numbers, they don't lie, don't just pluck one out your backside.

You are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts.

wdym the kill rate sits only just above 50%? It was basicalyl 70% when those statistics were released? 70 is a lot different to 50. And considering the game has only imporved for killers since that point its safe to say they havn't decreased at all.

Random number? Excuse me? Do you look at the statistics that the devs post?

This is a 100% true statement, and inact killer winrate INCREASES the higher the rank. These statistics were also done back before many survivor things were nerfed as well. People are too blindsighted by how dbd 2016 was to realise that the game is completely differnet now, it hans't been surivor favoured in a long time. If you want to win as killer, there are plenty of builds you can just lock in and instantly guarantee urseufl a 90% win rate. Lil ridiculous dont you think.

Here a list so maybe BHVR knows about their existence:

    Oni:

Renjiros Bloody gloves - You lose literally your own power in trade of a aura reading? Scuffed scratched mirror myers?

    Nurse:

Dull bracelet - No reason to have 3 blood point farm addons, having the white nit comb is enough

Anxious gasp - No reason to have 3 blood point farm addons

    Legion:

Franks mixtape - Outdated addon, doesnt really work nor makes sense to use

Susies Mixtape, Never sleep pills, Friendship bracelet - Having a bigger killer instinct range is useless, you cannot reach a survivor who is at the edge of your TR anyway if they just hold w

Deep wound study - Should I even say something about that?

Fuming Mixtape - Bruh just use discordence lul, maybe okey as a purple but not iri

    Nerfslinger:

Hellshire Iron - that other iri addon that probably half of the community doesnt even know of its existance, you get undetactable while you reel a survivor, dafuq?

    Huntress:

Soldier's Puttee - maybe good for daily farming noed huntress players at bronze grades but not for a normal huntress with more than 5 braincells.

Thats all I can think of, if you have other suggestions let me know but I am pretty sure I covered the most.

These addons dont offer any kind of fun, unique and interesting gameplay, they are just simply useless and are just a blood web filler.

Agree, it seems to me like they are just mucking around with addons for no inheret reason instead of fixing actaul either more problematic addons or fixing greater issues in the game. Likewise for perks..

  • Remember when BVHR said theyd have all map reworks done in under a year because they take up alot of rescourses, back in 2020...

So where have these rescourses actualyl been going.

Im having a blast playing as her. She has sick map pressence and anti loop. Sniping people cross map feels amazing.

She's almost pulling me away from my lovely miss piggy.

What are your thoughts about her?

She's incredibly braindead for both sides. Her whole playstyle is literally either fling single birds at survviors and hope they hit, which guarantees a follow up injure state, or hold w until you catch up to the survivor, cause they have no other chocie.

Its not antiloop its anti game logic, she ignores pallets and windows more than nurse does, the killer who is specifically designed to ignore those.

I don't blame any of my losses on comms, i lose intentionally for the last 1,5+ years. Nice try putting words in my mouth.

My playstyle is going for 8hooks/0kills and max BP. I categorically void any camping, slugging or tunneling. I don't have a main killer, have played survivor less than 2 hours in my only 300 hours played since release and only play this game once or twice a month because it is not fun over long times.

I don't care for most of the stuff complained about here and am only here for spicy discussions since my lol forum got shut down and I can no longer laugh about toxic people embarrassingly pleading for "unfair" bans.

And yes comms can be game changing. I have seen it often enough in all of the games i mentioned that often once my team started to listen to my calls we would sweep the floor with our opponents, if they didn't have/use comms. Coordinations vs none are worlds apart.

DBD will never be balanced if there are 3 sides with solo, killer and swf.

A coordinated team not on comms is just as nearly as good as a coordinated on comms. The real problem with this game is that A: Its a casual game so half the player base aint playing seriously and B: Most people are genuinely not that good at the game no offence, often because they dont intend to be.

Also fyi i never meant to say that you yourself blame ur losses on third part im talkign about people in general who do that.

Hopped on for the event. It's fun. I like the envelopes, and event BP gains are fun.

What isnt...isn't.... survivors. What is it with the constant nasty attitudes? Why do they go into matches and expect to stomp the killer evert match, and God forbid one of the swf players die they decide to belittle and make excuses in the chat?

Had a match as slinger, and I'm not that great with him but I was having a good time going for good shots. At the forest map nonetheless, against a 3man and rando.

I ended up getting 5 hooks, a good bit of shots, and thx to the BP event gains I left with 50k. I was happy with it.

    They weren't.

At the end of the match, all 3 got toxic at the end gate giving me the chance to get two more shots on them in the exit area. Since they were healthy they still escaped.

All 4 got out, all 4 had more points than me. But for some reason I was called a camper, trash, quit the game. Not saying gg bc you play a bad killer. Go play call of duty if you wanna snipe etc....

I replied quit whining... you all got out with more points than me. Lol.

Even when they win, there not happy. Survivors or more importantly swfs ruin this experience every time I play. They have this entitlement mentality about them. There miserable people in general and have no business playing this game.

But who's to blame? Them? Or the devs for giving them the power role when they group up?

It's a little bit of both. But honestly, for the health of this game, the devs need to give Survivors a reality check and take away the power dynamics in swfs. Bc until something is done about people expecting to dominate every match, survivors will continue to trest killers like garbage weather they win or lose matches.

Killer entitlement, complaining about survivors when killers have an over 70% winrate...

It's not confirmed but declared by the devs aka they just have accepted it. This might be just semantics but it makes a difference.

The definition of using third party Software outside of the game as an advantage still stands. And especially in an asymmetrical game were only one side can profit from it.

In my eyes they just declared it as okay/legal in their game because they know that they can't do anything about it and took the easy way out.

Only oj the last qna have they finally begun to tackle the problem by starting to bring solo closer to swf.

Edit: Btw same goes for their approach to camping/tunneling/slugging aka the unfun gameplay a killer can use that they declared "tactics" because here also they couldn't do anything against it without having to fear to kill their playerbase. But this is also seemingly under review by them in recent times.

Tbh tho to blame third party software on ALL your losses is really stooing to a new low in which you are only able to blame everything other than urself for your losses.

Yes you can think its annoying or you don't liek it but is it gamechanign? No, it kinda just makes the game slightly easier for those players, but an insanely good player will b good enough that they dont need it anyway.

Have y'all seen otzdarvas video proving that the game isn't actually survivor sided or "as" survivor sided? It's bullshit. Scott jund, otz and other content creators claim that you don't go against a swf every game, which I do. I can bring the most broken build but my perks will get taken away or I'll be destroyed by dead hard to a God pallet. How's the game not survivor sided? I had a game, and not just A game but many games like this. This match was basically me downing them fast at the beginning of the match. They were still at 5 gens and it looked like it was unwinnable for them. I would down them fast but it didn't matter because they would never die so I call that the infinite hook effect. There was nothing I could do because they had boil over and would sabo. Even though they were getting clapped, they still did all 5 gens, isn't that crazy? I mean do y'all blame me for DCing? Nothing I could do. It's very common for this to happen. Fast generators even though I should be winning? Every single game was just sweaty and frustrating. Dead hard every time I would mind game them at a jungle gym. I don't understand how Scott or otz have survivor sided opinions when killers are literally quitting the game and not having fun. They make fun of the devs for not knowing much about the game (atleast Scott because otz doesn't) but they also just claim that matches are still winnable and that you should look at your mistakes? A game I have been playing for 4 years now? Jeez.

    hahahhahaha

    ur a funny man

The idea is that you let go of the gen before the hooking animation plays out and therefore before DMS comes into play. If you let go of a gen upon seeing the hooking animation start (the survivor's aura is already shown to you at this point), DMS/Resonance won't trigger on you. So now Artist will be setting up her crows to shoot at the gens, and you simply wait until she launches them, then go back on the gen.

    Thats not how it works..

If you told someone 3 years ago that a perk like this woudl b created they simply woudln tbelive you. The amount of stuff killer has now is absolutely bonkers nuts.

So I am very optimistic that the developers will try to implement one or the other change in the future. Besides, I do not think that the Trickster is badly designed now

What kinda changes do u want him to have?

The problem is he's another one of these 1v1 killers who's designed to destroy 1v1s but still looses the game cause he's not designd for 1v4's. This is what 90% of new killers are these days which makes them awful to vs and awful to play because you still loose even if you down ppl fast.

I don't mind having 1v1 style killers but we already have plenty of those, and ones that are just better desgiedn with lots of stategy to them. The problem i have with him is that more often than not both sides are helpless in trickster chases. Chases are more rng on how many walls there are to block him/how long you can hold w for.

Imo i want more killers like doctor/freddy/oni who have unique forms of map pressure but also have tools that aren't super opressive in chase.

  • @PNgamer said:

Please do not get me wrong. I am a big fan of balance changes and I think many tools that have been reworked are good for the Trickster. However, I also think it's still not where BHVR wants it to be. I still think it is very weak. Yes he has improved that is true, but he is still not good enough. Can any official confirm this with stats or something ? What is your current opinion about the Trickster?

    regards

The more you buff trickster the more miserable you make him to vs with no impact on how strong he is. He's just a poorly designed killer like deathsligner who you can't balance around properly.

  • @ad19970 said:

Doctor is B tier in my opinion. The same goes for Nemesis, he is pretty decent. Once his zombies get fixed, if that ever happens, he'd be arguably high B tier, and with addon buffs, maybe even low A tier. He might need 3 hits to down a survivor with his ability, but his ability is pretty damn strong, and while he has fair counterplay, his counterplay on the survivor side is fairly difficult, and arguably a bit more limited than with a lot of other killers.

Yea i personalyl havn't had enough experinece against the 2 newest killers so i wasn't certain on where to put them. But yea i could see why he's B worthy.

My thought process regarding nemeis and pinhead has alot just been what do they offer that other killers don't and what makes them better or worse than said killer?

  • @GeneralV said:

I think Freddy should stay in the A Tier...just in the bottom of said tier.

I was thinking bout putting him A he's definitely a contender.

  • @Haddix said:

I think you're overrating Huntress. The best Huntresses in the world get completely stomped against 4 good players, she's not that close to the top 3. There are killers that will perform better than her if this is a tier list for good killer player vs. 4 good survivor players.

also, doctor being stronger than oni is kinda wack.

Thing is huntress is one of the few killers who's chase potential doesnt signficantly drop when dealing with good survivors, she just has a harder time and needs to be better the better the survviors are. She has one of the best early games out of all killers imo.

Also she's an extremely strong 3 genner, extremely strong camper and quite a consistent killer compared to most of the other A tier's. if she misses a hatchet, she is not punsihed nowhere near as much as a pyramid head or oni missing.

Yea i thought my doctor placement would be a bit controversial XD. Personally its another case of consistent vs inconsistent killer. If oni wastes 3 gens just to get a down or his power, he's completely useless, which happens far too often against good players. Doctor however like huntress also has an extremely good early game and chase prescense. There's no camping out corrupting or leaving gens early to avoid detection against a doctor. Oni just has too many exploitable weaknesses for me to put him anyhigher.

If you havn't noticed early game prescense is somethign i value tremendously, because the first chase is more often than not the decider of how the game will go, and is also the most difficult time for killer as most killers cannot prevent those first 3 gens from popping vs a good team. I value heavily the killers that can stop that however.

Yeah I don’t understand why some people say she’s weak now. It’s mainly people that relied on the stuff that made her unfair too much that think that way.

Defintiely, its like when they nerfed nurse back in the day and all the omega blink and 5 blink abusers complained that she was going to be weak now.

  • @landromat said:

Good tier list. Trapper changes are not enough to make him good. Pig changes overall are nerf so rip pig.

    Plague will be good

Yea they rlly don't like pig..

She's the only weak/mediocre killer who im pretty sure has just gotten worse over the years, every other bad killer has gotten changes that have helped propell them to the playable state.

Honestly yea i think plague could shoot up insanely high, she's getting some gnarly changes that could probs put her top of A tier depending on how they play out.

  • @xEa said:

Nemesis is B in my opinion.

Hag is for sure better then Huntress and Pylon Head.

Oni is (much) better then Doctor

TBF i havn't rlly seen the full extend of nemesis/pinhead's capabilties so i was kidna unsure where to put them so yea he could def go there.

IMO hag is great at snowballing but she rlly cant do anything other than protect tight 3gens against the best teams, as she cant get downs and cant afford to take anychases against insane teams without throwing the game. Huntress and PHead have much better early games, can down even the best survviors with relative ease and both killers are good (not as good as hag tho) at campign hooks and forcing 1 for 1s.

I definitely agree in that hag is way better vs your average team tho and has way stronger addons.

  • @R2k said:

U sure Hag is weaker than Huntress?

Against good teams a huntress will have a much better time getting downs and hooks. If against insane level teams, hag's only strat is to set up a massive web at a 3 gen and hope that someone goes down in it so she can snowball off. Huntress can get downs at 5gens on the other hand, destroy even the best survivors in chase if she plays well and is impossible to save against if she has addons like oakhaft without taking 1for1's. Hag's definitely got the better addons but she's also alot more snowball reliant and inconsistent than huntress. But she can definitely do well especially on small maps.

  • @GannTM said:

Ah thank you for putting Spirit at the top. She’s definitely still one of the strongest even after the nerf.

Yea she's still going to be an insanely good killer and comp viable, i think some ppl r forgetting she still moves at 170%ish movement speed whilst invisible just at base, which is an enviable stat for any killer. Sure she's probably not as good as blight now but still insane.

  • I think people sometimes forget that the game is a 4v1, so in order for the playerbase ot suit the game for ever killer player there must be 4 players waning to play survivor, which means you need to make survivor more appealing, otherwise the game will die incredibly quickyl as everyone will want to play killer.

Kicking a gen without a dedicated perk or build is futile 99% of the time. It take you something like 3 sec kicking it and less than half a sec to tap it as a survivor. You only kick a gen if you have a dedicated perk or know for sure nobody's around.

Exactly, and that's how it should be. You shouldn't be able to just hold spacebar at a gen whenever you want and get free game slowdown for it without using a perk or somethign.
