It depends on the specific killer. Infectious Fright on Nurse? Ruin on Oni? Bamboozle on Bubba? Pop on Freddy? Stridor on Spirit?
Or the specific build. Legion with the mangled add-on, Thana and Ruin/Undying? Freddy with Pop, Corrupt, Sloppy and Thrilling Tremors? Spirit or Nurse with Devour Hope/Undying?
Also, pop barely got nerfed, you can still totally cross mother's dwelling and kick a gen. The lower timer just means you can't also chase someone. Plus Ruin is stronger than every it's just not free early game pressure (and the meta has shifted somewhat more towards early gen slamming).
But like you said depends on the killer.

I didn't think hiding behind a gen worked anymore?
If you have to run within 40 meters every time you'd never get gens done. So either way is a positive for killer.
Really? Hiding behind a gen still hides the Aura. Why'd you think it didn't?

The counters to BBQ are not reasonable because you have to stop working on the objective and there's not always a locker nearby. It would be like DS when it was first released. DS is practically nothing compared to Tinkerer. A perk totally controlled by the killer and now will punish survivor for doing the objective. A perk that deactivates for touching a gen. And Tinkerer rewards killer for survivor doing the main objective.
You can't go behind a generator? Walk one way four seconds then the other way? Bewithin 40 meters of the hooked person?
-
@Sluzzy said:
Aura perks, slowgen perks, Tinkerer, tracking perks. 1-shot perks (Devour, Rancor, NOED).
Game is way too easy for killer. Most maps are designed so stealth is not emphasized. All of these perks are unnecessary when stealth is not even encouraged by the devs. They've made all maps bright when deadzones everywhere. Tinkerer punishes survivor for doing the objective. BBQ is like WGLF that gives an aura of the killer's location and double bp for doing gens. There's no perk that instantly repairs a gen like 1-shot perks do for killers. BNP was the only thing comparable but it was of course....nerfed into trash tier like most everything else.
Maps? You make me laugh in Groaning Storehouse, Badham Preschool, Gas Heaven, Ormond, and the Game. Tinkerer yeah it's annoying but doesn't DS punish a killer for it's objective? BBQ has 4 counters how can you not do one of them? Devour Hope requires work and normally you'll have plenty of time to find the totem before the mori. The suggesting Rancor is OP pretty sad. Noed however is pretty dull like Freddy so it can get changed.
-
I hope they at least get something to a realm.
-
@AssassinZodiac said:
I honestly can't think of any killer perk that is actually overpowered, but I do think that Tinkerer is slightly over tuned. It's the only killer perk in the game I run on all killers. Makes pressuring gens stupid easy in my opinion.
With Undying nerf I've found it like Noed a nuisance but nothing to truly anger me.

I even dare to say that if it weren't for the licenses, Dead by Daylight would be different and even somewhat boring, they would also not have many people who are already part of the community and their source of income would be somewhat painful.
Maybe anniversary will be a big one.

I prefer original killers, there's more creativity and freedom. Just a shame that IMHO the last two have been gutter trash.
Don't like Blight?

@Exerath1992 said:
idea for those killers who are good with ruin :D
Killers who can already waste time. That's all they need. You can go an extra step with Legion longer mend. Plague another Corrupt pool to down. Pig add-ons focused on the boxes. And the other killers snowball good Billy, Nurse, Oni, and Blight. Infectious and Monitor to constantly down and people needing to unhook. Wraith something to catch people and down them. Freddy all you need is Ruin+Undying with Surveillance or Tinkerer. Deathslinger, PH and Twins just play to what they do best.

I get your point but I guess I view that comparison as deciding which garbage is the better garbage. IE don't run either.
Don't worry I'll do which is better with Ruin or Pop next.

Yeah I'd agree that Bamboozle is actually one of the few chase perks that I do think can have a significant impact and is worth considering.
Bamboozle doesn't have a perk that can compete with it's an anti-window abilities. But Enduring and Brutal can compete enough in their anti pallet abilities. Which is why I did these two. Because I can't do which killer is best with Bamboozle and Cruel Limits or Fire Up since those two are bad.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Brutal Strength is more of a "feel nice" perk than a serious one. The time you gain kicking pallets a bit faster is worthless on the majority of maps where you are usually able to reach another loop in time. On all killers you mentioned except maybe Doctor I'd say Bambozlee is a way better choice.
There's isn't another window perk that can compete with Bamboozle so it was Brutal and Enduring.
-
@Asssblasster625 said:
“Brutal Strength you can counter pallet stuns by placing a Trapper” all I can imagine now is trapper pulling a smaller trapper out of a bag laying it down and it just swinging at the toes of survivors😭😭
The Trapper buff we need.
-
His play style is still pretty lame though. Hope they make him more skillfull with his upcoming changes.
-
It's busted but toxic is tunneling and camping, but Iri Head is getting changed.
-
We'll see if their license holders allow it when Freddy gets his nerf.
-
Distortion should have a way to regain tokens if they go with proposed Object I would really want to run New Object and Distortion. Premonition should have a shorter Cooldown and maybe when it'll have an intenser red closer the killer is. Predator should get rid of it's current effect of scratch marks closer. And instead have scratch marks last longer and be brighter. Gear head can keep it's current effect work on both skill checks. A cool idea I heard is for the 45 seconds you'll have old Ruin

So if you stay asleep you're doomed and if you wake up you're doomed as well? He'd be basically like what he is today where he gains lots of passive effects for 0 effort.
Well they're obviously gonna give Freddy a nerf. And likely make his dream world weaker. So it'd be helpful to give him a better chance against survivors awake.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Madness is what makes doctor doctor just like the dream world makes Freddy Freddy so no
I'm not sure the devs have given killers similar abilities and effects.

he really REALLY doesnt need it. That would be a huge buff to an already S tier killer
I said when he gets changed.
-
@indieeden7 said:
I really don't think that would be a good change, Madness is basically the Doctor's form of being asleep. Freddy having constant passive effects would probably make him even more boring to go against than he already is.
I don't mean current Freddy I mean when they change him.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I can barely move in a match before two gens are already popped. I chase someone and instantly another gen is popped. I hook someone, takes time for them to die, immediately another gen pops and another person off the hook. The minute I chase someone I know I’m going to lose the match cause the others will just gen rush. This is very disheartening for a Killer. I’m level 13 but can’t get any higher and I’m constantly getting survivors that outrank and outclass me. It got to the point where I downed the last person in the match and just dropped them by the gate. What’s the point? This game feels very unfriendly to new Killers and the learning curve is massive for Killers. Even bad survivors can still rely on their teammates to pick up their slack. Any tips or anything? Am I really going to have to spend a buttload of money on characters just to get decent perks? It’s just real depressing that I constantly hook many players, break gens and pallets, the whole nine yards and still walk away with nothing.
What killers are you using and which builds? I can give further tips for the killers and builds best for them.

Kinda agree with you there.
Yup and now Corrupt is best for the slow ones.
-
Was it with the Bubba?
-
It is still strong but the kind of killer it works with changed. Old Ruin was best for slow killers. New Ruin is best for fast killers.
-
You know the basics of what perks to and not to bring?
-
It's annoying but that doesn't mean it's broken.

i dont think hawkins is being redone.
Quite sure it's old enough. Missing the new standard of breakable walls. And graphics don't wow me.

It’s such a shame that so many people just stopped playing Billy. He’s so fun to play as and play against and is one of the most balanced killers, arguably the most balanced. I’m sick of playing against Freddy every game.
Devs, why did y’all nerf him when he never needed it? His add ons were the only thing that were in need of a change. Giving him a change before Freddy and Spirit (it pains to me to say it as much as I love her) is honestly blasphemy. It’s another reason the community criticizes y’all, and y’all still wonder why you keep receiving criticism.
Yeah I think the overheat was dumb. But I think the weaker add-ons got rid of a lot of people who mainly played with him add-ons instead of genuinely getting use to the pros and cons.
-
BBQ and Thrilling have certain killers that do and don't work on them. Same with Brutal and Enduring. Depends on the killer I'm using.
-
Yikes that map is awful. You really need to be patient with the chainsaw with all the windows. And doorways. And mobility with the chainsaw you gotta move to the long hallways.
-
Dwight's perks.
-
Which killers were they?
-
That's why it's coming next chapter when this is fixed. And 5 games with killers that perform better then most get some more statistics.
-
Most days
-
Happened at first for me but then went away for a while
-
They should definitely reduce them being a guaranteed realm.

It's the fact that 1, those 2 shouldnt need to. And to run 2 perks killers complain about rather than 1 just to deal with the fault of the first is a joke. It's not that they synergize, they're not working together in unison. What you suggested is a backup of a backup. A plan C to a plan B. Where as Pop and Thrilling work at the same time in unison. Ruin and Surveillance working at the same time.
How do DS+UB not work in unison? Just about every combo is a backup for the weakness of the other combination DS+UB is no different.
-
@Ivaldi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1962066#Comment_1962066
So now we have to run DS/Unbreakable to prevent slugging? The exact combo that you guys cried we use too much and is the main reason DS got nerfed to begin with?
DS got nerfed because it could be abused. No problem with DS+UB might've once but I don't anymore. And don't assume me a killer main. I play both sides.
-
So what's wrong with a perk having good synergy with another perk or power? Nothing Pop+Thrilling Problem with pop don't know which gen to go to. Thrilling can't utilize slowing the gen with nothing. They synergize. Ruin+Tinkerer Ruin need to find a gen to interrupt. Tinkerer need something to easily get the gen down. They synergize. Oni's power people will stealth with it. Infectious need a killer to snowball they synergize. DS+Unbreakable DS you can just get slugged Unbreakable you can just get picked up. They counter each other's weaknesses.
-
Just run Unbreakable simple as that.

I like ghost face or huntress Michael Myers too but I feel like it’s hard to use him if you’re just starting out
Ghostface definitely Sloppy and Nurses. Then Pop Thrilling or Ruin Undying whether you kick gens or not. Always try and approach to a spot behind a Object. Just don't stick to open areas. Since even if you get a mark in it doesn't matter if they can get to good loops. Huntress avoid monitor or Infectious since she's weird with her terror radius. Generally Huntress is aggressive so Ruin is better. Avoid perks involving pallets or windows since her hatchets done right can avoid those. Look for gaps that a hatchet can be tossed through. Definitely bring tracking perks since she can't stealth good. Michael depends on you can choose to be stealthy with him or aggressive. Anti heal Nurse's+Sloppy, Ultra Aggressive Monitor and Infectious, Anti loop Brutal and Bamboozle, Ultra stealth Monitor+Rabbit.
-
Which killer have you been looking at? Tell me and I'll give you a good build and tips.

Did they say it isn't? That's... disappointing. Only maps that won't have breakable walls then will be Hawkins and Lerys.
Nothing escapes the breakable walls.
-
I want to devour salt. It fuels me.
-
MacMillan I enjoy everytime. Don't like Yamaoka though every time I have a cruddy experience on those maps.
-
Since next chapter is a big one and the largest map changes have been on chapters. I'd guess Coldwind and pretty much anything can join it. Haddonfield, Swamp, Forest, or Hawkins.
-
Let's pray it's next on the rework list. Or they might save it for next Mid-Chapter.
-
It's an error. Don't worry they're fixing it Tuesday.
