The community has been asking for a health chapter for years now.
Instead the game has been getting more buggy and frustrating with every new chapter.
-
1. Trapper. It always devolves into a basement campfest.
2. Huntress with her broken hatchets.
3. Try hard spirits with stridor and the duration addons.

He's weak, but nowhere near the worst killer. That still goes to clown and legion. I've played him a lot since his release and think he could use some buffs but I'm not sure what they'd be besides letting you hold Main event and be able to stop throwing blades in main event. But even then he needs more. But he can still down even the most experienced survivors on any loop, it's just going to take you ages
100% disagree. Clown and legion are leagues better than trickster even at high ranks. Trickster struggles at every thing killer related.
-
I assume it's a bug because it wasn't this bad before.
I was standing on some junk on the ground on one of the badham maps recently and vicktor started dieing.

@gibblywibblywoo said:
I gave him a fair shot. He's atrociously weak on anything but a map with large empty space. Even then he's worse than Huntress
I tried to pick him again the other day, and yeah. I feel like I'm playing huntress in slow motion.
-
He plays exactly like a weaker pyramid head that can't hit through walls which makes him very predictable and boring, just like pyramid head.
Throw pallet and get hit with ranged or don't throw it and get hit by m1. Windows, same thing.

Does your QA... do multiple device testing? At least sanity checks?
Gamer: is dbd on consoles?
Bhvr: Yeah we're on consoles! We have no idea if it works because we don't test it, but please buy it and all the dlc even if you can't play! We're a small company ;)

The hatchet hitbox is a sphere with a diameter the size of the hatchet model. That obviously does mean its hitbox is significantly larger than the model itself. BHVR have tried making the hitbox match the actual model before, but it did not work out well, for some reason. But what they could do is simply reduce the size of the sphere.
Personally I don't think her "forgiving" hitbox size is too much of a problem, she is still a fairly balanced design and survivors can play around the timings that come with said hitbox size (albeit they need experience against it of course, so it is not very new-player-friendly). What is much more decidedly a real issue is the killer latency advantage, where every millisecond of latency between a killer and survivor will benefit the former, which exacerbates how ridiculous hatchets hits (and hits in general) can be, and it is something players can never really play around. This is something BHVR could and should remedy.
Her VERY forgiving hatchet hitboxes make her a good bit better than she really is.
Obviously it isn't the sole reason that makes her good, but it can't be denied it isn't a huge advantage to get hits when you otherwise shouldn't with proper hitboxes. This is the problem with her, people feel cheated when they are hit by these absurd hatchets that visibly aren't even close to the survivor body.

I guarantee it's an over reliance of the hitboxes so when they make them better people complain, because they can't actually aim. It's hard to control her on switch and console yea, but pc has no issues and those hatchets are complained about FAR MORE than any other projectile.
They have something wrong with them by logic.
It's the reason I can't watch huntress main games. When they get those stupid hits around corners or the survivor was clearly 4 or 5 feet away from the hatchet its honestly a bit cringe to watch.
-
Ok, something still doesn't seem right, because other ranged killers don't have the same issues hatchets do with smaller hit boxes.
Trickster knives, deathslinger harpon all travel near or as fast as hatchets and have smaller hitboxes yet people don't complain nearly as much.

Yes, but she has to have one. An accurate hitbox would make the hatchets impossible to hit.
I dont understand how more accurate hitboxes would be bad.

I know but I like to chat, thats why Im using the forums. Its just me, I like to chat with people..

That hurt me because of the few good chats I had :(
Sure you'll get good sports sometimes who will genuinely be nice to talk to.
But you'll also get people, in back to back games, telling you they hope you die irl because they lost to a trickster :')
-
I know right? It's right there!
Anyway, did they fix the performance issues on xbox yet?
-
Lol it's weird. The t virus is supposed to cause mutations and be extremely deadly.
In dbd it just splashes blue paint and gives you the sniffles.

@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
I feel like huntress hitboxes aren't the worst thing ever.
It really is just bad killer ping that makes those super questionable hits possible
The other ranged killers (except nemesis, tentacle is really jacked up atm) projectiles don't have the hatchet problem which indicates it's not so much a ping issue but something only related huntress.
Not saying ping doesn't contribute but I feel the problem is with the hatchet itself.

@Gnarly said:
Now I have officially played as Huntress om Switch, PS4, and PC...
She isn't hard at all on PC as far as I can tell. Her hitboxes are so janked and I can aim where someone was and let go and BAM hit...
Not that hard, but the map can hurt her a lot.
Yup. I've been advocating for a long time to get her hatchets fixed as she is VERY frustrating to verse.
I stopped playing her because every down I got due to a hatchet hitting people around corners just stopped being fun, I actually feel bad for the survivors.

U prob loose often too
Nope. I very rarely don't get a 4k when i play my main killers twins and bubba.
I see now you are a troll so there's no point in this thread.
-
When a clicky clicky toxic t bagger runs into a dead zone but doesn't know it ;)
-
That's weird. I'm winning all of my killer games without tunneling someone to death.
What am I doing wrong?
-
People dc because there's no option to give up. They don't want to be in the game anymore.
Hell even with the penalty people are still dieing on first hook to get out. They'll even find the killer to get back on the hook.
You can't force someone to finish the match if they don't want to.

I dunno, I’m not liking how inconsistent his tentacle attack is.
I still have no idea what it can and can’t attack over and I’ve played him for hours. It would be nice if the hit box actually lined up with the animation but it definitely does not, as well as being tiny to boot.
Yup, tentacle hits make no sense at all. I've seen it literally go through survivors and they arent hit and other times ive clearly missed yet a hit is registered anyway. It's a bit like huntress hatchets and that's not a good thing.
I think behavior really struggles with ranged attacks.
-
Honestly shift + w is enough in most cases. His tentacle hitbox is so janked you can usually dodge it.
-
Kidnapping victor makes you completely useless for the entire duration. Youre giving the killer free pressure when you do this because it's one less person that is doing gens while charolette is free to continue injuring and downing people and kicking them off gens.
-
At high ranks ghostface pretty much doesn't have a power.
He spends most of the match out of stealth because you can easily reveal him (most of the time) and the maps are so wide open you can easily see him approach in stealth which makes it really hard to get stalks.
And even if you do get stalks it's worthless early game because all pallets are up and can easily loop him for the exposed duration.
-
Dbd turns into a sh*t show after EVERY chapter and its getting worse over time. I would be embarrassed if I were them
-
It's very inconsistent so yeah, it's broken. It's similar to deathslinger. Sometimes it works sometimes it goes through the survivor without a hit /shrug
I'm convinced bvhr does not know how to work projectiles.
-
Afk wraith is the best.
Optionally you can put on late game perks like blood warden, noed, etc if you want giggles
-
All the other ranged killers have passable projectile hitboxes.
She probably suffers from being the first killer with ranged attacks.
They absolutely need to redo how her hatchets work. It's completely idiotic in 2021 from a professional game developer to have a ranged attack this unrealistic and bad.
I used to love watching streamers like umbra play huntress but it's borderline cringe to see her consistently hit people around corners or literal feet away from the hatchet due to jank hatchets.
-
Don't chase people in frenzy if they have just entered your terror radius. You won't get close enough in time to hit them with frenzy.
Use frenzy to keep location on survivors. This means sometimes use frenzy on an injured survivor just to locate the others.
Get good at judging how far away someone is with killer instinct. There's no point in frenzy sprint when they are to far away to hit them. Use frenzy to locate them, then walk closer, then frenzy again to hit them.
Don't frenzy swing at walking survivors. There's a huge chance they have sprint burst and will cause you to whiff and end your frenzy.
Good teams will remain spread out as much as possible, which considerably cuts down how useful you power is. There's not much you can do about this other than making your fewer frenzied count as much as possible and get good at m1 chasing.
Be mindful of lockers during frenzy. Cheeky survivors are good at predicting when you'll lunge and will fast enter a locker to make you whiff. Be a bjt patient and instead of whiffing you can pull them out instead.
-
Nope. Literally the worst killer in the game even after his "buffs".
-
Every. Damn. Time.
Huntress is one of the most infuriating killers for this reason alone to the point I will try to die on first hook if I know my team isn't very good. Rather get into the next match than try to dodge semi truck hit boxes.
-
I mean it's nothing new.
Everyone knows at the skill ceiling survivors are the ones in charge unless you are very good with spirit or nurse, and that's only because those killers bypass a lot of chase and loop mechanics.
This game was not meant to be that competitive which is probably why they balance for brown ranks.
-
Good. I won't be versing huntress and her bull crap hatchet hitboxes while it's down.
-
@WishIcouldmain said:
And it is in contention for the worst. This was suppose to be the chapter to turn things around WHAT HAPPENED?
- Nemesis is a mess. His power is so messy while he's not the worst killer he can definitely use some improvements. His tiers can use some improvements. And his hitboxes are as messy as Huntress's and it's awful.
- Map's not playable. What else do I have to say day 1 of the first new map in a year and it can't work.
- Linked cosmetic issue. Once more what else do I have to stay.
- Optimization has been worse then ever and so many people's consoles are breaking because of your neglect to optimize. And even PC has been suffering, Nemesis himself freezing if he wants to play him. Which is disappointing because I like Nemesis when he works he's fun but there's so many stupid things holding him back. Almost nothing is working
- No celebration to commemorate the 5th anniversary what's suppose to be the biggest moment in DBD's history but nope I guess not.
- Devs we've lost faith in you. Please fix some current issues in the Mid-Chapter which is just about everything
Adding to the list, they somehow completely broke clowns bottles and I've heard blight isn't getting dash hits or something similar.
-
If your getting looped for 4+ times around a loop before they drop the pallet then you're doing something wrong.
Even tall wall jungle gyms can be forced to be be dropped at a max of 3 loops, especially as Clown who can force drops sooner on most occasions.
-
It's anti-sluzzy!
-
@Shooby said:
This was a thing before 5.0.0 btw...
Not to this extent. It's A LOT worse now.
-
People are probably waiting for the inevitable changes he's going to receive.
He's not very good at the moment.
-
Yup I noticed this last night playing as clown on Ormond.
Survivors were juat running into the gas, yelling, but clearly not suffering from hindered at all. Mind you it wasn't all the time but a significant amount of time the gas did nothing.
-
Ironically the killer is rarely the BMer no matter who wins and by how much in my matches.
99% of the time it's survivors being sore winners or losers, even with each other.
-
Shift W is his counter play if he's trying to use tentacle
-
Nemesis has 3 problems.
Infecting survivor should not give them sprint.
Jank as hell hit box for tentacle (its either very forgiving or non existent)
Zombies are just about useless. I've seen them stuck on corners and spasing out over steps more than I've seen them walk.
Fix these issues and he will be good.
-
Huntress hatchets legit piss me off nearly every game, even playing AS huntress! The amount of behind corner hits its absolute bananas. It completely removes the skill as a ranged killer.
They need a complete projectile rework or something.

Lol yup, which makes him already stronger than trickster.

Been running Lethal Pursuer and it have seen some pretty ridiculous spawns.
- Survivors spawning literally on top of hex totems
- Survivors spawning spread out on 3-4 different gens as soon as the match starts.
- 4 survivors spawning on top of one gen
It really highlights how strong it is for the team to spread out on different gens.
When they spawn on all different gens you know it's going to be a VERY rough game, which should not be dicated by something as stupid as rng spawning.
-
This is pretty much my experience.
Ironically, using his power is similar to trickster. Against good survivors its almost not worth using.
-
There is no way nemesis is worse than helpless boy trickster.

I LOVE the Zombies. Whether as Nemesis or Survivor.
It hilarious when survivors get hit by one they didn’t realise they were running near mid chase, and as survivor I’ve had some jump scare moments getting near a Zombie I wasn’t previously aware of, or very nervous about one coming closer to where I’m working on a gen.
I think the Zombies add tension and moments of chaos, and have really freshened things up in DBD.
Hell yeah, they're the best thing about this dlc.
Was playing as survivor, coldwind, running from nemesis in the corn injured, then suddenly run face first into a zombie I didn't see through the corn. I just laughed my ass off cause it was so dumb and funny.
-
zombies are the best thing about this dlc.
I love how they spaz out over a millimeter incline. They block windows and hallways like a 1960 high school bully. They push people off gens like it's their job.
