  • Other than how janky it feels to switch to/from victor, they're in a good spot imo.

Victor can be dodged quite easily around short obstacles quite easily.

People get mad at twins because they don't play like other killers (i.e. can't be looped over and over again similar to nurse). And there are the people who abuse how easy it is to camp and tunnel...

  • @Lucent said:

They are trash. I really want to get a new one but wow. How about a nice ballgown and a little top hat for victor? I'd pay cash money for that. Anything but the rags. Give her some class.. Show off that one boob. C'mon BHVR step up, she's been out long enough....

The only good skins they have are the funeral dress ones. I agree they need some more/better ones.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    When legion exists nope

legion can atleast get the first hit near instantly and follow up with standard m1 chase which usually results in a faster down than trickster.

  • Pretty much normal yeah. The devs haven't figured out how to do match making. It's only been like 5 years...

  • @Crowman said:

I played two games so far of solo queue and escaped both times.

People certainly exaggerate the struggles of solo queue.

Sure you can have good solo games sometimes, but I guarantee there are much more bad ones than good.

  • @CoalTower said:

Solo queue is fine. Matchmaking and ranking aren't. Don't confuse the two.

That's part of the problem though. Solo you get matched with everybody regardless if rank. Swf doesn't have this problem.

  • @Dodgingbears said:

I have immense fun even when solo. I think most of it is in your attitude. You can get unlucky wiht players regardless and even MMR wont fully solve that when it is implemented. Survivors definitely do not need buffs. lol or an additional perk slot, high level play has survivors dominating in tournaments and when swf. 4 strong survivors beat a strong killer, almost every time. It is more consistent that you have strong killers who do well because 1-2 survivors are almost always the weak link and the game is extremely hard with only 50% of your team doing what you need to get out and the others getting downed quickly or afking.

If you change your attitude you will enjoy the game more. I dont mean to discount your perception, but I have a lot of time the game and what you are stating is not the reality of solo queue, as I know it, after over 5000 escapes, and even more 4ks.

I'm not sure if you interpreted my post fully. I'm not calling for survivor buffs, I'm calling for changes that makes solo queue less cringe and painful.

What is the attitude I should have?

"Jake is hook bombing me with no borrowed time and doesn't try to take a hit, lol gg guess I'll do better next time as the killer now has 2 slugs"? Because stuff like this happens nearly every game which usually results in a lose. I don't see how an attitude adjustment can change the outcome...

  • I love these kinds of posts.

Someone boldly claims they are one of THE best whatever, provides one or more videos of "proof", and then the next 80 responses are one big argument. It's very entertaining.

I think people forget there are actually GOOD survivors out there, and they get a big head when they havnt versed them in a while so they make a thread like this.

Winning vs potatoe survivors doesn't prove any killer is good, Trickster especially.

  • I agree, twins are probably the most tactical. When I play them I feel like I can effect whatever the part of the map I want to and herd survivors where I want them to go easier than other killers.

Trapper probably second of you have really good knowledge of survivor movements and aren't constantly getting them disarmed.

And they are a completely inferior chase tool to the purple bottles in every way.

This person gets it. Yellow bottles are a complete waste of time and resources to use.

I would instantly give them away for something else such as removal of reloading bottles entirely.

  • @DwightFairfield said:

This one goes out to you Trickster and Twins mains who don't want to put in the time to learn any mechanical skill.

Playing a bad killer does not excuse rampant camping and tunneling, saying you had to play that way because the killer is bad is the most worthless excuse I've ever heard.

If you struggle so much with a killer, you can put in the time to get better.

All that playing scummy will do it force you into a loop where you can never win doing anything else because its engraved into your muscle memory.

Twins aren't even on the same planet as trickster, they're actually really strong without playing scummy. The problem is playing twins scummy is easily rewarded by the game.

Trickster is bad and I honestly don't even feel bad when he decides to camp his 2nd hook at 5 gens done. He needs help.

    PROLOGUE

Been playing the Twins and they are pretty fun, love them. However, I'm not sure on where they stand at within the game, fun and game balance are two completely different things...

Therefore, I ask the community to discuss where you think they stand in the fog and if anything... What do they need to be more healthy for the game? 😁

Using victor feels really awkward right now, like he's on slow motion after a down.

Also activating charolette is weird as hell now on a lot of places.

Other than that yeahbtheure ok nkw

  • Honestly can't say I've faced a trickster who got more than a handful of downs let alone a good one at red ranks.

  • Until a few months ago legion and bubba were my go to killers if I felt like winning or got stomped one to many times by obviously swfs.

Buy now I'd say twins. They just fit my play style a lot better and allow me to make more strategic plays.

  • Bots would probably be better than 80 % of the player base so I would be all for that

  • Not really. Its not bad but there are other perks that are much better to bring.

I'll sometimes use it with sprint burst, iron will, and fixated for a stealth build that gets unsafe gens done

  • Deathslinger.

I absolutely cannot stand the absurd hitboxes that hatchets have, and I play as huntress semi regularly until it stops being fun.

It's so infuriating to watch yourself get hit or downed while the hatchet is FEET away from you.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

the only strong killers in the game are nurse and spirit.

please don't act like twins can dominate SWF

No but I'd put twins in A tier to be honest. They are certainly able to hold their own against the average swf. I get 4ks almost every single game at rank 1 with them even against swfs.

I've only flat out lost a handful of matches with them and it was vs hyper aggressive gen rushing teams that remained split up the entire match and coordinated rescues to perfection, probably tournament teams practicing or something.

    RED – KILLER VICTORY.

    YELLOW – TIE

    GREEN – SURVIVORS VICTORY

    Good stats, nice work.

Confirms what we've been saying for years; solo queue is hit garbage.

Bhbr needs to do something. Either buff solo players or make it more worth while to do it. Because at the moment i only play solo queue to get my daily shard bonus, it's just way to frustrating to do more.

  • @DecisiveDwight said:

They are the most unbalanced stupid addition to the game Viktor has huntress sized hit boxes you watch the little rat sail past your face and he somehow attaches to you, they can body block halls with no way around them other than smashing Viktor but you're still body blocked for 2 seconds while he boils into a pool of blood and to top it off their whole gameplay is literally what survivors moan about the most camping and slugging they are literally the worst killers to go against yea killers not killer plural which in itself is going against a 1v4 anyway lets just throw in all of the legion characters as well!

This makes my eyes hurt. Just a big wall of text with no punctuation or paragraphs and lots of teary-eyed rage.

But seriously, yeah there are people who hard core camp with twins because it's damn easy to do, but you certainly don't need to play them like that to win.

Victor's hit box is a bit forgiving but certainly no where near as bad as huntress hatchets. You have to be right on top of survivors most of the time to land victor otherwise he can dodged very easy.

  • The real sad part is they won't buff him anymore for atleast a year or 2 because they already buffed him after launch. Which means hes gonna be THE worst killer in the game for a long time.

  • Me.

I picked them up before the nerf. Yeah its awkward to use victor a little bit now but I'm still 4king nearly every game at red rank without camping or slugging (without them being grouped up injured).

  • @Lord_Tony said:

outclassed on literally every single loop.

even simple loops can be infinite to trickster because of his slow speed and weak damage

No, he won't, atleast for the foreseeable future. And the reason is "he already got buffs after his release" is the devs reasoning.

Hes stuck at the bottom of the barrel for a long time.

  • We all died. Once she got one of us she just turned up camping to 11 and my team mates just kept hook bombing. Which is fine because I think at that point we all just wanted the game to end.

  • Had a game vs hag the other day that lasted near 40 minutes because she had a great 3 gen from the start and trapped the entire area around them and never left. Her ruin was also in the same area.

One of the most dumbest matches I've ever been in. She wouldn't commit to chases so we just got hit and healed endlessly.

  • I'll use streamers if someone in lobby asks for it. Usually indicates atleast one other person is going to try to play the game correctly.

As killer I'll throw it on when I'm playing someone like legion when I'm farming blood points.

  • He needs a cooldown reduction to his power or make it harder to reveal him. Good survivors will constantly be revealing him which forces him to be an m1 killer most of the game.

Also, a lot of the new maps are very open and you can see him comming from miles. Myers suffers from this as well.

  • Death on first hook while the rest of team urban evade....with Kindred...

  • It's a time of day issue as well as more people play survivor than killer.

On east coast, I can get red rank survivor games typically in less than 2 minutes all day until about 7 pm. The rest of the night it takes over to 10 minutes.

Meanwhile I can get 1 minute red rank killer queues all day regardless of time.

  • It's a good perk but not the best. It has a place in a lot of builds and makes stealth Killers mich easier to deal with.

  • Hell yeah brother!

Kate and Meg are the queens of this game.

I have been having exam weeks and tried to learn blight so thats whyI have been making a ######### ton of salt posts recently. Not a winning combination. I know its kind a meme but Civ 5 is a way better game if you just want to kinda relax and not get too stressed over.

I cant play dbd before bed. It causes my mind to race and end up taking forever to fall asleep cause my brain is full of energy from the matches.

Definitely would NOT recommend playing it if you are already stressed or need to calm down, it has the opposite effect.

  • I hate when killers do this. It really kills my mood to play survivor.

As killer I'll punish hook swarmers but I won't go out of my way to slug the entire team unless it's extremely convenient and they are all right by me.

  • Your mistake was playing solo for more than one game per day. It's a terrible experience more often than not.

Survivor is only really playable with friends if you want to escape.

  • It's lag/dedicated servers.

Ive had survivors starting the carry animation from a grab and suddenly they just yeet themselves off as if nothing happened.

It's been incredibly rare to get a grab for years now.

  • Yeah its a form of bm.

It's basically saying "im so good there's no way you can get me so im just going to heal right in your face".

In realitity this doesn't work very well against good killers because survivors are sacrificing distance by bming

  • Step 1 play killer

Step 2 farm with survivors, get them to pop all 5 gens

Step 3 open gate. Farming survivors never leave until the very last second.

Step 4 look for gnome, crush it, gg

  • They used to be toxic when they were able to win the game in half the time, but now? They're for memes.

    https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Lag_compensation

TF2 actually does work the same way. If the shot registers on the shooters screen, the server will count it as a hit, even if it doesn't look that way to the person getting shot. The only difference is in TF2 you are in the killer's role while shooting and in the survivor's role when being shot so it constantly flips back and forth. Since DBD is asymmetrical, you stay in one role for the whole game instead.

Then tf2 does a MUCH better job than dbd at either deciding the hit had occurred or not, or it smoothes everything out better to mask the lag.

I have 1k hours on tf2 and can't remember a time where I was shot or stabbed or whatever from 3+ feet around obstacles, or vice versa to other players.

Conversely, if hit validation favoured the survivor, you'd be constantly swinging at survivors thinking you should be landing hits, and you'll miss. Every. Single. Time. You would have to try to run through the survivor, to make sure you land a hit where they're going to be in the next couple seconds, instead of where they are currently on your screen. Which is impossible, because of collision. You literally will not be able to gauge whether or not your hits will land, you will actually have to predict the future, and killer would be unplayable.

Hit validation has to favour the killer in order for the game to work.

Latency will always be a factor one way or another, because of physics, we don't all have super robust, instantaneous connections. The current system is the best one available.

People will keep making these threads, because they don't understand this.

This is not how server based games work and probably why dbd has these problems.

Why does it need to favor killer OR survivor? No other server based games does this. The only reason it ever favored killer was from the days where the game was peer to peer.

This is a server based game now. The server is supposed to be the one deciding if hits are encountered, not the killer.

You don't see team fortress 2 favoring blue or red team arbitrarily for hit validation.

I posted structured posts in this forum various times, i either got ignored or my points were taken out with hilarious arguments.

Being whiney is the most succesful way in this forum, as i learned there ;) It attracts the most people. But devs will ignore it anyway, so yeah, i should stop wasting my time here because i could play Civ 5 instead huh?

People need to keep making these threads because the problem is still here. It's been here ever since dedicated servers launched.

You shouldn't be be getting hit after moving 2 meters after the vault has ended yet here we are in 2021 and nearly every game this happens.

And I'm not a whiny survivor main. I actually play killer 90 % of the time and can tell you I get WAY to many vault hits that I just should absolutely not be getting.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

    Myers is not even a contender for worst killer. Coincidentally Scott Jund put out a comprehensive video yesterday explaining why Mikey is not even in the bottom five;

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7wp7RrzRfw&list=FL-jXd-o0LVgs2RRTyXoFJQg&index=1&t=18s

While I agree with some of Scott's views on this especially how easy it is to get out of tier 1, he is still one of the weakest killers imo.

Stealth Killers are already on the weaker side due to how easy it is to spot them as survivor. Scott mentions how you can sneak up on a lot of survivors with Mike but this simply isn't true for survivors with any decent amount if hours in the game. Plus you have Spine Chill users who bolt the first time it lights up.

His one shot isnt even that good unless you use the infinite tier 3 addon, you're likely to only get one down per use if the surviors remain split up as they should.

Overall yeah, he's not the worst killer (trickster is, I don't care what Scott says about legion) but he's certainly not above the bottom of mid tier.

  • So maybe I'm stupid but...######### does this mean exactly? I mean if they intended to stop blight from doing 180 or 360s during rush they clearly failed.

  • They actually double nerfed victor and idk if it's intentional or not. He has an additional couple of seconds delay while he ramps up his speed AFTER his regular cooldown.

Combine this with how jank the switching to Charlotte is and its overall very clunky to play compared to before.

They are still quite playable though and I still am winning most of games with them but they do need to fix the things they broke.

  • I've been convinced for a long time now that bhvr does not test internally.

    Or are extremely incompetent.

  • I'll dodge via force game quit while loading if I see a last second key equipping. That screams try hard swf bully squad.

  • You have to learn to not take this game so seriously. It's basically Mario Party.

Solo survivor is absolutely awful if you go in with the mind set of "winning". Often time you won't because, well, we all know what shenanigans goes on in solo queue. Try fun builds, goofy tactics, csuse odds are you're gonna die anyway so might as well have fun.

Killer is much the same way, except you have more power to do what you want.

Yes, I tried to play normally as him, then realized that he is super good at proxy camping and got a few 4ks on obvious solos, as well as a few 2ks on obvious swf who were smart not too unhook, then stopped playing him... because it just felt not fun and scummy to proxy camp every game. And every video I see from people claiming how they do amazingly with him is just the same... camping, camping and more camping. With basement especially it's impossible to rescue even with BT most of the time.

Yup. I was going to main him upon release, and I did for a day or two, but after losing pretty much every game I just gave up on him. The only kills I was getting was from altrusic survivors while I proxy camped a dead area which is something I avoid because I know it sucks for survivors and is just boring as killer.

  • I've thankfully noticed that big drop off in keys since they fixed the chest bug recently.

It's still pretty high usage though.
