I'd like to see more skilled survivors

Just playing with/against a bunch of potatoes smh

You either play with potatoes most of the time, or play with pro SWF teams. Both scenarios are making me want to end my suffering.

K, but if for real, I believe an Endgame build would be good on the Clown.

BBQ + Remember Me + NOED + BloodWarden. If survivors are solo, NOED is still there and there are 3 of them left, they are DEAD.

"I never said anything homophobic or racist ON THESE FOURMS" lol, you funny for that one.

But anyway going back to the conversation at hand like the lady said, my view on David being gay is that he SHOULD be gay because it makes people upset. And I feel like its not really hurting anyone you know, its just funny that it makes people mad because it doesn't change the game. Im not trying to "Pull" anyone into a conversation or make them think a certain way, in fact its kind of the opposite because if it didn't make them upset it wouldn't be funny. And again im judging this from pass experience with Overwatch and Tracer/solider. Especially solider lol that pissed people tf off. Its just like I dont think about him being gay anymore than I think about him being white you know? The same would be for david, his character model wouldn't go out on his own and start checking out guys. And I MAIN David. I want to main Jeff or Adam soon but I dont got jeff and Adam....he needs some rift love or something, but his main outfit is amazing anyway. And he has an outfit that's kind of gay so maybe hes gay, still gonna main him idgaf, matter fact I hope him and david get together. Homie love 😂

then what is the point of the thread? to simply state a "fact" and not have a discussion? noted for next time

You can agree or disagree. If you believe that your facts are more well-grounded and they can really throw over the thing I stated, you can write about it. But your "just nerf it" is kinda... Yeah...

you said literally nothing can solve it

    i presented solutions

    You're welcome.

Just won 8 games in a row at red ranks without swf.

It's called "wow, matchmaking sucks right now so you get green ranked killers all day long!"

  • @Hopesfall said:

you can give them a gen speed debuff based on number of party members

reduce # of hooks per person to 2

    increase healing time

    plenty of things..

Reading is good for you. So don't be lazy, read the rest, not just the title!

  • The just drop "SWF players are TOO altruistic, it usually makes them die easily" line or "these are not THAT often". They know about how unfair it is to play against such players btw. They try to buff solo survivors first to let them match SWF level so they could decide what should they do with killers. But it won't do much good I believe. Also, they usually trust their official stats which include potato survivors who reach rank 1 by an accident, so even the weakest killers are actually good!

  • People were asking devs to add a short opening animation for keys which would prevent SWF teams leaving all at once but nooo!

We all know that the dbd community is the least toxic that exists, right?

At the very least they didn't teabag. If they had acted all toxic, my last nerve cells would have D I E D.

  • The early game. Because it doesn't exist anymore.

  • Kills don't mean winning. I can stomp 4 potato survivors at the beginning and will I call it a good game where I've truely won? Of course not! It's all about how fun the match was. I did a lot, survivors did a lot, I got 1 during a midgame and 1 kill during the endgame even with NOED being disactivated and noone was teabagging and writing anything bad in the post-game chat? Wow, it was good! I won, I had time to use my skill and now I feel satisfied! NOONE thinks that killing someone with NOED or Rancor during the end is a win, especially when a killer was genrushed.

  • The speed would be fine if the 2-3 early game gens didn't pop that fast...

  • Devs said they aren't planning changing the Pig. There are so many suggestions that are so interesting and kinda SAW themed but, unfortunately, I don't believe devs will do anything with them. Heartbreaking, I know...

I heard they are kinda looking into her add-ons, at least that's something. Some of her add-ons are so bad they really need a rework.

Best perk for Spirit is Stridor. Some people say "oh you don't need it if you are a good Spirit" to which I respond "you haven't chased a survivor with Iron Will that actually KNOWS how to run from a Spirit". If they did they would see how important Stridor is. It's not there for every survivor. It's there for very SPECIFIC survivors that will run you around the map or lose you completely. These survivors are rare, majority of survivors go full throttle potato against Spirit so you will feel like most chases are a cake walk. But trust me when I say there are survivors out there that do not potato against Spirit and these are the ones you really need to catch quickly.

You need good tracking skills to play Spirit. Learn how to track survivors by any means necessary. Scratches. Blood. Crows. Grass. Footsteps. Cries of pain. Know survivors' pathing. If you hook a survivor and see another on BBQ moving in some direction, you need to know where they will path to intercept them. And you need to be aware that they might try to trick you and know other paths they would take. I've had people call me a hacker (on Xbox BTW LOL) because I just KNEW where the survivors were going and the paths they were taking.

Literally all her add-ons are good. Pick any combination of green add-ons and you should be able to take on most groups. However, speed and duration add-ons are the best of the best. MDR is her strongest add-on, but it removes scratches so you will need to be experienced with tracking as I mention above. Charge add-ons are very good because you can be super aggressive in a chase. Arguably, her worst add-ons are passsive phasing (Juniper/Cherry Blossom) but even these add-ons have value against good loopers. If you use one of these you can beat most safe loops without even needing to use your power. Father's Glasses are also not super good, BUT if used as an anti-stealth tool they are very good. You'd probably want to combo it with Sloppy Butcher though, just to make it easier.

All standard good killer perks are good for her. Take your pick really.

A good starter build would be something like BBQ, Pop, Nurse's, Sloppy. That's a pretty basic Spirit build. If you really want to slow the game, go for Sloppy, Thana, Dying Light, Ruin (or a tracking perk of choice).

My current build is IMO the most overpowered build in the game. Stridor, Shadowborn, Ruin, Surveillance, MDR, Amulet. MDR + Amulet let's you cover SOOOOO much distance it's insane (almost 70m). Just these add-ons alone put your map pressure to god tier levels. Stridor/Shadow makes it almost impossible to hide from you in any situation. Ruin/Surv is an extremely potent combo and when you factor in that super crazy high map pressure it means you just need to phase near a gen to stop it, as survivors will start running when they hear the woosh, which then you see the gen turn white from Surv so you know they were there. And with Stridor/Shadow you WILL find them. I've run this build maybe 10 times by now, and every single game has been 4k 4/5 gen. I got a 5 gen perfect game on Rotten Fields, and a 4 gen basement party on Ormond. This build is insane. Only 1 group got to the gates and it is 100% my fault for chasing a Dwelf WAY longer than I should have. I couldn't help it, he was so whimsical and #########, I just had to chase him for 3 gens LOL. To his credit he did an absolute amazing job running from me. He just predicted everything perfectly. Still got a 3k though, and they never got the gates open (and yes I caught Dwelf). I could have even slugged for a 4k but I just let Kate hatch because they earned it. I didn't feel like dragging out the game any more.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1070733#Comment_1070733

Only if you are not used to Stridor. Once you get familiar with it, you can pinpoint survivors from any distance where you can hear their cries of pain. I can literally track you through corn and structures just by sound because of Stridor.

You will also see scratches and hear footsteps, which you can use to nail down the survivors exact position.

Idk, I played with it for quite a long peroid of time, I did worse with it tbh. I didn't just tried it out for a few matches, I played with it for at least 100 hours. Maybe that's just me but I find a lot of people saying the same thing about Stridor when they play as the Spirit.

  • Stridor makes sounds TOO loud. Yes, you'll find survivors easier but you'll have much harder time tracking them correctly and downing them as well.

"Oh, this Claudette must be close! Let me just get this bi-.. What do you mean she's in another jungle gym?"

  • Because you have DS, BT, DH, Inner Strength for solo or Adrenaline for SWF. Plus you can just learn totems locations.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/127637/are-we-gonna-do-something-about-survivors-turning-speed

So you are essentially complaining....because you got juked? This is where we're at right now? "The survivors won't let me hit them, it's an issue." All they do is nerf survivors, I seriously doubt they will touch their mobility, and if they do God help us all with matchmaking.

This is exactly why people need to plan ahead. Also before anyone cries Legion is one of the main characters I use. Personally I don't strike unless I know the hit is lined up. Even so, sometimes you are going to miss, and it isn't the end of the world. This seems to be more of an issue of practice than anything, honestly.

These forums as much as I hate to admit it really do seem to have a lot of outlandish complaints by killers.

No, you didn't get it right. I missed with a frenzy attack as if I was Dead Harded, I didn't even had a chance to turn around with my attack.

  • That reminds me a moment from one of the livestreams

"Why can survivors always heal up after being chopped to death?"

    "It's a videogame!"

  • @McLightning said:

I'll say this once, as nicely as possible. You get one free pass for being 360'd. One. Per round.

If you get 360'd more than once in a round, you need to get better at killer. Once you know it's possible for a certain survivor to do it, it's incredibly easy to see coming.

That's not the case. My M1 attacks go just fine most of the cases. As the Legion I tried to use my ability on a healthy survivor, I was close, the survivor was close, I got it all and BAM, i missed as if the survivor used Dead Hard. I wasn't in the process of missing, my attack just refused to go on and my power went down because of it. I thought: "Well, okay, maybe it's really a one time thing!"... And then it REPEATED. I couldn't really use my power on the survivor unless there were some walls around.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Land the hit? This sounds like a survivor complaining about skill checks.

i wish we could do something about all the whining and complaining that goes on.....man up amd get good at the game

... Oh, okay. Didn't think of that before, thanks!

Now, for real, instead of talking about the issue you decided to write "gitgud". I wish we could do something about people like you.

  • 1) Susie looks perfect to be captured as a little girl by Anna. Susie even has a choker which kinda reminds the Huntress about other girls being tied by the neck with a rope so it triggers Anna's "mother caring instinct". At first Susie was afraid of Anna but later they started hanging out more and Susie started seeing the Huntress as "the big mama".

    2) Bubba cooks survivors pudding, he and the Hag are the only ones who actually eat it. Other killers just secretly burn it for the bloodpoints. Can't tell if anyone tried it out of curiosity though...

    3) Michael finds the Demogorgon hella scary. Everyone actually does exept Susie. She tried to pet Demo but it doesn't really go well so far. Maybe Demo will be like a puppy for her soon, who knows.

    4) The Nurse is like the Entity's best worker but she doesn't really care about it unlike some other killers who want to be the best out of all, like Frank.

    5) Laurie is the best at surviving a trial. Also, she tries to get along with Myers but he doesn't seem to be interested in supporting any form of relationship with her, he actually gets annoyed when Laurie treats him like an older brother. But Laurie can sometimes get so intimidating that he usually tries to just go into the silent mode as usual instead of acting agressively.

    6) Feng as a gamer really enjoys listening to Bill's zombie apocalypse stories. The others just find them too unreal to be true.

    7) Claudette X the Hillbilly is a CANON. PERIOD.

    8) Rin isn't just a pure rage husk. She's a kind and polite girl who can just easily get pissed off.

    9) Ace is a bi and he's trying to be flirty with EVERYONE, even some killers. It doesn't end up well for him... Unfortunately, the only one who finds him fine is the Hag. But Ace doesn't really see the Hag as good partner so he avoids her at all cost. Well, at least the Hag finds him tasting especially good.

    10) Ash acts too cocky and it pisses everyone out. Nobody really tries to save him when he's about to die.

    11) Kate respects Jeff's music while Jeff can't really enjoy whatever she sings. He finds it too girlish and treats Kate as a good dilettante despite her being much more successful. But he doesn't act arrogant at all, he's just a stubborn teddybear who thinks that he has better taste in music. Because of his kind soul in general Kate doesn't seem bothered by Jeff's behavior when it comes to music.

@Mringasa Yeah, walk away from a killer who is watching you move. Easily activates her power and appears on you. You seem very passionate about this, but seem to have missed a massive hole in your point. I've already covered this in previous responses. It isn't the issue about moving away stealthily, it's the fact that, at the time of posting, it appeared as though there was no way of telling if she was using her power or not with certain cosmetics. Trying to evade a killer who is watching you by walking away isn't a strong gameplan, mate. So with that said, the thread is pretty closed for now, since i'm taking @WRussoW's advice and applying it into my gameplay to test it out.

Another funny thing about the Spirit, if she has short hair and she starts phasing, her hair glitch out for a second. I'd totally call it a bug but you can still use it as well.

  • I can't believe this thread goes on.

  • I like Claudette but she's the symbol of toxicity in this game due to special someone.

  • *Sniff sniff*

I smell mods monitoring this thread.

  • @Onyx_Blue said:

@WRussoW so, I did multiple tests on this. And yes, you're right, there is like a hiccup animation where her hair stands upright. But, this is a very hard static animation to catch. I got it wrong loads more times than I got it right, even though I knew what the cue was. It isn't that reliable. Whereas her shard glowing, I can spot them every time without fail, since they literally change from a dull grey to a bright blue. So yeah, she does have a static cue to see when she initiates phase, but good luck catching that every time in the heat of a chase. I would still push to have a 100% telltale put in. From my perspective it would improve quality of life drastically; because atm she is very obnoxious to vs

It's actually doesn't involve her hair alone. If she's looking somewhere else, her husk well put her head straight forward. That means 80% of the time her head quite noticably moves a little bit as well. I can't actually say her hiccup is THAT hard to notice, probably you'll be better at it after a while. You just need to look at her in general, like, you don't need to pay extra attention at her hair because you can see them covering a major part of your screen. Her body, especially arms, usually shake for a second when she starts phasing, it's a static animation as you've mentioned. Again, I don't know about you but I manage to notice it every time when I have to counter her standing-still-mindgame.

(And if the Spirit has long hair, they go so UP when she phases, you don't need to look anywhere else. Standard Spirit's hair are literally an easy mode when it comes to knowing what she's doing. You can say she's phasing when you're miles away when she has long hair! Like, come one, this one is 100% noticable...)

The problem is there are a lot of small things about her that let you know what she's about to do but they are kinda too minor to be that significant and there are so many of them you just don't get what you need to pay attention at.

  • @Onyx_Blue said:

@WRussoW 99% ready, so even after seeing these noticable traits of phasing, you still aren't certain? This is my point, when Spirit uses variations of her base cosmetic (ie the bandage garments) you can 100% tell she is phasing because of the shards glowing. With the alternative costumes you're saying I have to spot an already twitchy killer make a specific kind of twitch? Please describe this specific amimation, or hiccup even, that let's the survivor know she has fully activated phase. I'll go to a KYF and see if I can successfully spot when she phases and how often I can redo that feat.

That 1% is when I miss the moment she starts phasing and now I have to guess if she uses her ability. And yeah, you can't be sure about anything in general, so take that 1% as nothing serious.

My poor english vocabulary won't really be useful enough to describe it. Do you have any high quality video with a compilation which shows when the Spirit is about to use her power and she's on the screen? It would be much easier for both of us. That "hiccup" she does is really fast but noticable.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1059215#Comment_1059215

Thats just lies. Those Animations are default. Nothing to tell her phasing.

Drop me any video to determine when she's phasing, I'll tell you the timecode.

  • Inner Strength who?

  • @Onyx_Blue said:

@WRussoW Please enlighten me. You know she's phasing in every situation? Please enlighten people. Because I am yet to see any sign she is phasing when wearing the outfits that I highlighted

To be honest her whole look just screams "I'm phasing!" when she uses her ability. If I can see her on the screen, I'm 99% ready to say when she's phasing. Her whole animation shakes a little bit, her hair (no matter what they are) move wildly because of it. Like, for real, if you know exaclty what you need to pay attention at, you'll have 0 problems with her. I know people spammed that video that "disproved" those traits but how on the Earth am I able to know when she uses her Yamaoka Haunting?

  • How the hell people are still being fooled with standing-still-mindgame?? I'm not trying to be cocky here but I have 0 problems with spotting when she's phasing!

  • "-Frustration: The Game" Lmao

  • I tried to be cocky when I was a young survivor main but my skill was kinda wack so I don't think I made that much psychological pressure to anyone exept my teammates who were doomed because of me. I remember thinking it was all fun and games until I started playing killers more often. All of a sudden OCHIDO funny moments were no longer funny...

  • The Nurse? Who is that? Haven't seen one since the update.
