Which seems to happen about 50-75% of games.Unless other survivors have WGLF, want to unhook, and/or have D/Cs too. You also casually skimmed over the major issue that WGLF doesn't promote good gameplay. What's worse is that so many survivors think it's a free pass to farm teammates when they pair BT with WGLF. The killer hasn't taken three steps away from the hook and the victim gets tunneled and downed in 10 seconds. Working as intended. /sI want BHVR to release the average stacks for BBQC and WGLF. They say it's easier and I call BS.

Yeah no kidding. Well since you commented at least what do you think of my suggestion. Anything you would like to add to it or perhaps change?
I thumbed it up right away!

I fully agree with the gist of the changes. The purpose of WGLF is completely lost, and it's a shame that the developers don't really care that it promotes bad/toxic gameplay (taking unneeded hits, farming teammates, wasting time to compete at unhooks, etc.). Making it like the Benevolence points, and encouraging things that actually promote surviving is what it needs.
I wouldn't give stack for escaping the trial though. I think it should award the points if the person you saved/protected escapes within 45 seconds with a countdown.

Anything for a shorter range. Nerf it, even.
As WoO is now, using it clutters the screen really badly. It's highly distracting and ruins the atmosphere.

Ok so explain how I was blaming them if was stating something that they are doing? I never insulted them or said they shouldn’t being doing it or anything like. You’re just salty I said something about survivors and not killers. That’s all this is really is you being butthurt I didn’t say something about killers as well so you assume I was trying to bash survivors. I think their gen rushing is hilarious and I’m still laughing about it. Survivor main btwUh, I just gave context. If "blaming" was the wrong wording, then fine. I gave you context because you're apparently thinking that gen rushing (which is normal versus Rank1 killers putting up their best instakills) is funny, but if you think normal is funny, then good for you. I didn't say anything about you and what you think of killers, and I couldn't care less about what you main.
You're really getting fired up over nothing.

Right now the only way to report other players is through the end game report system - video evidence is needed and this will need to be uploaded and the URL typed into the text box on the after game report. Can we have a more convenient way to put in the URL? I don't believe Ctrl+V works with that interface.

Anything done to deliberately ruin the fun of another player or mock them without any real game play advantage for yourself. Like teabagging. Or smacking people on the hook. This is perfect, especially the part that says without any real game play advantage for yourself. Flashlight Saves are not toxic, body blocking a hook is not toxic, body blocking the basement to wait out a Borrowed Time timer is not toxic. The key part here is that the behavior in question has to actually be helping you in some way to achieve victory in the game.
Taunting a killer by t-bagging, flashlight clicking, and notification spamming to draw attention from another survivor on their last look probably counts as helping to achieve victory. At least in my book.

Honestly, I've been playing with 2 other friends whilst they went from rank 20 to 15, meanwhile I stayed stagnant Rank 1. It didn't really effect anything, especially since they don't really mind losing here and there. Since you upgrade to SWF you're put at a major advantage.
The queues are longer when it's harder to find a match for SWF. When my group was at Rank 17 and I was tryharding to Rank 1, games would take YEARS to find, to the point where we settled for 250 ping as long as we were playing.

That's the answer I needed. I just need to get down to at least rank 10 and this could be the way to do it without screwing anyone over.I recommend leaving match once every couple of games (like 1 in 3-4) once you get put on your last hook, as a previous poster suggested. Depipping 1 by 1 is really mind-numbing and can take multiple hours. Plus the killer gets more bloodpoints when you do.

I didn't claim you said killers were innocent, I only said you were blaming survivors for gen rushing and let you know the peachy state of Rank 1 games. I don't see how it's funny if the only option is to gen rush against tryhard memers. I went by the context given.

Do all of one category, none of the rest. You'll depip 50% of the time.Run either a altruism build, gen build, or bait/chase buiod and ONLY do the role you pick. The easiest is the gen build, since you can sit at a gen till you get pulled off and still contribute fairly well to the team.

Worse than disconnecting because someone is at the door?
I should have been more specific. Going afk doesn't bother me. Going afk when the match starts and staying afk bothers me. Played 5 matches yesterday and 2 in a row had the same killer who doesn't move the entire match.
Unless it´s Freddy, you can still get chase points by running in front of him.
never seen anyone afk in a full match that wasn't Wraith or Freddy. But it's just a +0 pip for no effort. If you leave quickly, it's a net gain for BP. Technically you can report for afk, but it's fine IMO. -
Eh? Is that really true? I can't tell by your graph, but I'm on mobile. If it is, then I suppose it's an oversight, but that's less on the devs getting the date wrong and more about choosing an inconvenient time.Yeah. Uh.. Technically not, since they probably were just thinking on their own time slot. No, it's not too much to ask. I'm sure they're taking the feedback just fine.

Also its kinda weird since the majority of the community is exactl NOT from NA^^The devs are in Canada. Kinda weird to assume they won't use the timezone they're in.
Still really confused when people say the Devs got the date wrong. The only thing they're guilty of is not specifying. Everyone knows it was meant to be a bloodpoint WEEKEND anyway, so it hardly makes a difference.

Been playing since 2016. The only time i experienced a 45+ minute que, was when David King was released. Everyone stopped playing killer. All played survivor.
Killers only have 5 minute queues, when a new killer is relased and survivor mains want to play the killer in ranked for whatever reason. The game has been survivor sided for 2 years now. The upcoming changes are a beginning, but i don´t expect that they are game changing.
I still get 20 minute queues, but only when I'm SWF and partially due to dodging. But hey, if the devs decide that group multiplayer is not the game they want, then what can I say?
-
Another fear-mongering, end-of-the-world thread.
The game will eventually die and one of you will finally be right.
-
Would be nice if the feature could be tied to Prestiging. Because there's no reason for doing so, except for when you want to look like a tampon from hell.
-
It's pretty rare to win a 3v1 as survivors.
I'm sure it's fun for players to be able to dominate and feel good about winning in a game of whack-a-mole, but for balancing or actually making the game better, let's not.
I'm sure those killers would be just as happy with an AI mode. God knows the game queue would be bad enough if a chunk of survivors stopped playing.

Cause I don't feel fear. I feel FRUSTRATION when faced with overwhelming odds.

Survivors will never be scared of the killer because most killers are not a threat. With that attitude, killers should be scared of Survivors.
Realistically, even if they were powerful, it'd be back down to not scary within 20 hours of facing them. For example, Hag is considered one of the weakest killers in the game, and yet people are routinely scared while facing her. If scary was determined by threat, Hag should be completely unscary.

Pretty sure it's the Hag/Doctor Splinter.
They wiped it since they were earnable with IS anyway.

Nice, you reacted to his title. Round of applause. Might wanna check your tone though, cause you sound personally hurt. Ironic that you're the defensive one, KIDDO, given that you just shamelessly ragged on another dude's voice.
On topic: I'd say there's a lot of fault when it comes to determining killer ranking or killer viability. There has not been any realistic or valuable data tracking when it comes to any sort of gameplay. How do we determine performance aside from the Ranking or Emblem system, if the community does not agree on the value of that metric? Kills? Gens completed? Match length? All of it together (emblem system)? Along with the fact that there is variability in perk builds, and the scarcity of players of certain killers. Not to mention what you've already pointed out: players of inappropriate skill are scattered around all ranks.
Most of what is consensus is just that: Anecdotal or pure theory. Even if we felt that Wraith was worse than Hillbilly overall, we don't know by how much (or how we determine how much). Realistically, only BHVR knows, since they have shown to track kill ratio, add-on/item/perk/killer usage, SWF rate, and maybe more. No one has reached or even attempted a valuable experiment for this purpose.
But yeah, Rank is at best a pretty meh way to determine player skill/game quality.
-
Delete the whole thing then redownload. It's pretty quick unless you have potato computer and internet.

BHVR: Let's make aura reading WAY more powerful! Bitter Murmur and Dark Sense, straight to the top!

It's 4x BP actually.
I'm pretty sure the BP is additive.

You're typing a novel, why should I quote all of it? It just makes posts incessantly long. I didn't ask about how to counter camping, I'm not a beginner. I'm asking what was the ABUSE of EVERY mechanic.
Okay so are they abusing or are they NOT abusing it? And how are they "abusing" it? Because you just said countering it wasn't abusive but then you say mechanics are still somehow abused?Mringasa said:Nice edit though, since you didn't include the rest of my post as to how to actually counter Camping. It's not abusive, but one of the main reasons Killers actually leave the hook is constantly being called on to get nerfed or adjusted in some form that would make it useless.Perhaps I should have used another paragraph there. My point on the abuse is that every time they've tried to put a mechanic in to stop Camping, it gets abused by Survivors. BBQ and Devour Hope help to alleviate it by giving a Killer incentive to leave the hook
And most of your post was just storytelling that is unrelated to my question, so I don't get why you'd be offended when I don't quote all of it. -
Survivor: Please tell me this nutjob has Dstrike, IW, and Dead Hard.
Killer: Easy kill, maybe DH.@SovererignKing said:
M.Cote and the developers literally stated it’s nothing more than a bragging rights perk. It was never meant to be useful, or synergize with other perks. They won’t buff it because it was never intended to be useful.Like how they said Freddy and Wraith weren't going to get buffs because some killers aren't meant to be equal.

@Mringasa said:
Survivors have abused every mechanic that has been put in place to try and alleviate Camping.People keep saying this. What are these "mechanics", and how have survivors "abused" them?
@Mringasa said:
Survivors have abused every mechanic that has been put in place to try and alleviate Camping. Why should they try any more? They put BBQ in to try to get Killers to leave the hook and look for other people. What happens? Survivors complain about it. Devour Hope requires you to leave the hook within a certain radius before the rescue. Can't really use it because totems get downed within a minute or two.Hiding behind gens and going within the radius of BBQC is abuse? Cleansing hex totems is abuse? I'm confused now because people always refer to the fact that BBQC is countered by smart plays, but it's abusive to do that now?

I am not really sure what's the problem with it. The title itself is pretty nicely made, because:
1) It predicts content: The viewer knows it's going to be about a game similar to Dead by Daylight.
2) It (- yes, it does) encourages them to watch it.
3) Viewers are able to answer the question. Why do you have the need to act so agressively towards everybody in this thread?
- Predicting content is not a plus. All titles are expected to do that. Should I give him a medal for proper grammar?
- To BAIT viewers into CLICKING on the video.
- Viewers shouldn't need to answer any question when the title could easily provide that information. Tyde CHOSE not do to that so he garners more views.
The title is ######### because it provides unneeded ambiguity for the sake of reeling in views. People have even confused the meaning of his title. If you need to know what's wrong with clickbait, you can feel free to just Google it. I shouldn't need to explain this to any "intellectuals" here.
Oh it's not REAL aggression. This isn't aggression. This is embarrassment. It's just my reaction to stupid people calling themselves smart. I didn't quote everybody, now did I?
-
Nah, not at all. It's bad enough to see what level Ruin a killer has.

@TydeTyme said:
Real clickbait would be "GAME DOMINATES DEAD BY DAYLIGHT" to which you'd watch the video and see content that does not support the claim. That is clickbait.... Christ, you're ridiculous. Are you really using the term "REAL" clickbait? What is yours? FAKE clickbait? It doesn't need to be a lie, which is what you are trying to say. It's in the name. It's to lure people in to click it. The content doesn't need to be unsatisfactory, misleading, or a lie.
Where is there the need for mental gymnastics? If the video title wasn't clickbait, it would be: Soul At Stake - DBD Inspired, But Far From Perfect.
Your title was trash, even if your content was good. Your title had no information, it was merely a question that needed a click to fulfill it. It also apparently misled OP and others to believe you made a statement. The conclusion isn't that people are stupid, the conclusion is that your title is intentionally garbage. If you don't want people to call your YT video clickbait, then don't use clickbait techniques.
Example of a clickbait title for those apparently unaware, desperately circlejerking over an 'intellectual argument': ARE GMOs CAUSING CANCER? linking to an article/video explaining why GMOs are or are not causing cancer.

I like the hatch. It turns the game into a stealth match and is the only times that players get to enjoy the horror experience and atmosphere. The only problem is when it's a hatch *standoff*.

Yeah look at how rocket league works with it's chat. There are a lot of buttons which serve no purpose in a chase and all that.Have you played console btw? Well anyway, in a class a survivor uses both sticks, possibly the middle lad button for a quick invert juke, and at least 4 other buttons. Vault, pallet drop, run, crouching out of sight to hide. And both hands are being used on the sticks.
I dunno about console, but on PC, a lot of my stuff are bound to the same button.
Like spacebar is skill checks, struggle, vaulting, palleting, and lockers.
M1 is generator, healing, snapping out of it, unhooking, attempting escape, initiate chest, initiate totems, etc.
So most of my actions are on 2 buttons.
-
@AshleyWB said:
I wouldn't like to see voice chat. I would prefer a button which you press over an object e.g gen and the other nearby survivors get a line of text saying Claudette: Help me with this gen.
A little like white noise 2 if anyone's played that. Or maybe just a few phrases you can use in a rocket league like chat.Overwatch is pretty good with it. It allows for a communication wheel and communication binds. If you look at the Objective, the in-game text would say "Attack the Objective!" or "Defends the Objective!". OW is also more action packed, so I'm sure it would work for DBD.
-
Easy solution: rework the ranking distribution, rework rank reset, and implement exclusive rewards for end-season ranking to entice players to rank up and stay up.
-
You still need to play consistently, and a lot. With a monthly rank reset, it's not necessarily easy to get to the higher ranks if you've got a day job, hobbies, or other personal obligations.Swiftblade131 said:@Visionmaker said:
The higher ranks are notoriously difficult to queue. That's one of the reasons people go out of their way to depip. But why though? Getting to a high rank isn't hard at all, I would think there would be more people.
Plus, there's no reason for getting higher ranks aside from the few achievements we have, so not everyone is motivated to pip up.And personally, I avoid pipping above my regular SWF friends because otherwise our queue becomes an absolute nightmare. When I was sitting at Rank 1, it could take us half an hour to find a lobby (that doesn't kick us out). -
Sounds like you're mad you won't get to pip just from camping.Sn0wJob said:@DocOctober said:
So you do know that you didn't fulfil the ranking requirement.Sucks for you, but you have no business complaining. Either fulfil the requirements to rank up, which are now consist of all aspects of the game or don't fulfil them and accept that you won't rank up.
A system that basically exists to reward killers for letting survivors go by making us do dumb little map objectives, like the dumbest ######### ever.
Not like survivors get it any better either. No one will pip if the killer is demolished in 6 minutes. Half of survivors' emblems depend on ######### with the killer, while one of them depends on teammates not doing the objective. -
