Basically, it's worth less than Ruin and lasts as long, including all risk.

I don't deny that. OP was just incorrect.

  • Huntress Lullaby increases failed skill check regression before any tokens, so it is not powerless before first hook.

  • Bravo way to never get a response. lmao

Too much truth and you'll only get silence and downvotes.

We need to remove Kiler's ability to see players in the lobby.

So the killer gets to prep?If he sees people packing 4 toolkits he packs in Franklin's, it's toxic because it just punishes survivors for wanting to use items the game gives out for them to use.

Worse, many times what I see happening is, if Killer sees several Blendettes in the lobby he swaps to Doctor and readies an Ebony Mori.

This is just toxic and seriously has no place in the game. Killer prep is overrated and harmful to the game, and should be removed.

Killer prep is an intended feature of the game. I'd rather a killer slap on an Ebony Mori than get the unwarranted privilege of soft-banning me from playing with him.

What's toxic is when killers circumvent this and forego the entire freaking lobby. Like whose bright idea was this anyway?

Devs keep using "coordination with other survivors" as an excuse not to buff certain perks, but how the hell are any of us supposed to make use of perks like Saboteur when you get constantly kicked out with 2 or more toolboxes to begin with?

This opens up a whole different can of worms. For starters, you would need a whole team of people to review all of that footage. The ACMs are already tied up with reports and appeals so that's not really an option. The support team is busy too, so that'd be out of the question. Beyond that, there's the dilemma of what is a good reason to blacklist someone? Is it just based on the game rules? If it is, we might as well just ban them like we already do. If it's not, then the question becomes why it's not and if it's worthy of blacklisting someone.

@Peanits Allowing killers to view steam profiles/names and unpunished dodging essentially allows killers to blacklist survivor players.

Why are you overlooking this obvious hypocrisy? Your team does not support MLGA yet you sanction a budget MLGA in the form of the lobby design. Your reasoning is lacking.

Does it make any sense to you that Killers should be able to dodge me for any reason? I've had teammates AND forum posters tell me that wearing cosmetics subjects me to lobby dodging. Is that fair to you?

  • @Leatherbilly said:

You could also just deal with the various reasons killers constantly dodge lobbies rather than forcing them to subject themselves to it.

Killers can dodge for any reason under the sun.

Maybe we should deal with the various reasons survivors constantly D/C in-game rather than forcing them to subject themselves to it. /s

  • @Arroz"Negative past experiences with one or more people in the lobby"

    Apparently. Including reasons such as:

"Player has X number of hours more than me in DBD"

  • @Tsulan said:

So uhm, survivors that lobby dodge get also punished?

They should be. I don't want to wait thrity years for my lobby to fill up either.

  • @Peanits said:

It's a bit trickier than it seems. Punishing disconnects is pretty safe to do since people had the opportunity to leave in the lobby if there's an issue. Punishing people for leaving a lobby gets messy because there's multiple reasons why you might decide to leave. For instance:

    • Bad pings
    • Racial slurs
    • People being toxic in chat
    • Negative past experiences with one or more people in the lobby

In simple terms, we wouldn't want to punish someone because they don't want to play a laggy match, or for avoiding a guy that started insulted everyone last time they played and so on. Something like that could only work if there was a robust system that could determine if someone is a problem player and allowed people to leave, but that's out of the question at the moment. For the time being we are just focusing on disconnects from a match in progress.

@Peanits My love, why are killers allowed to dodge toxic survivors but survivors not allowed to dodge toxic killers? Shouldn't I be allowed to view the steam profile of the killer in the lobby then?

  • 3-5 minutes, even at purple.

I get lobbies faster as survivor.

This isn't a game that can linearly translate player skill, especially given the variance between killers, their effectiveness, and the perk and addon setups people choose. Hell, people can be doing dailies, or slugging a 4K, or farming, or not trying too hard, or testing an off build.

You can't have a "fair" system against SWF like this because such a concept would be based on the idea that players being on voice chat and together can be linearly scaled and related to a bonus to the killer player.

I've been accused of being a SWF while solo, and I've been smashed like random newbies in a 4 man SWF. Player skill is not equal for everyone.

Survivors win by a landslide = obviously 4 man SWF

Killer wins by a landslide = intended solo survivor play

People didn't want to believe that 4 man SWF groups dwindled down to just 5% of the playerbase, yet still so commonly use it as a scapegoat for inadequacy.

  • This is over-complicated and unnecessary.

And if I'm a solo player inadvertently playing with a stack of three without my knowledge? Why should I be subjected to this nonsense handicap when it's already a shitshow playing solo in the first place?

  • @28_stab_wounds said:

One problem doesnt take away the problems the other causes, both are bad and cause the experience of a player to be less enjoyable

@28_stab_wounds Agreed. It's the survivor's way of dodging. It's way more assholey, but it's hypocritical to turn a blind eye to Killer dodging.

How are we supposed to take the game seriously and implement rank rewards if one side always gets to choose who they want to play against? Why is profile viewing in the lobby a thing at all?? There is almost no reason for this level of control. As a survivor I don't get to opt out of Nurse games, so why, as a killer, should I be able to choose exactly who I get to play against?

If we are to use ping as an excuse, then the devs should've long ago locked dodging to only games with significant ping problems (ex: 150ms or above = leave lobby allowed).

First, you are intended to use your best addons and offerings.

No, I do not destroy them. I main Huntress. Wanna know what happens when I use Iridescent Head + Infantry Belt + a Mori? 4/5 times. everyone DCs. I get nothing but maybe 6~8K blood points, and lose everything else. Also get yelled at in post game chat. The flaming in post game chat happens 5/5 times. Therefore, I don't use them.

Why bother using such add-ons if I'm just going to lose them for nothing and waste my time? May as well dodge. They sure as ######### dodge me when they figure out that they don't like what they're playing against. It's wrong when killers do it, but a lot of survivors seem to justify it when they do it in the middle of the match.

Most people don't want to play versus SWF, because it's immensely unpleasant. It's not enjoyable being 4 people's punching bag, whether it be in real life or in a video game.

I don't care to be 4 peoples' punching bag and I have the right to avoid that, just like survivors have the right to dodge the killer's lobby when the ping looks like they're playing with someone on the moon which would otherwise be an unreasonably difficult match for them.

No, I cannot tell which SWFs I dodge. I also don't care. As I said, 4/5's of the SWFs I've gone up against have been nothing but bad experiences, for all the reasons I listed and it doesn't matter if they're a bully squad or not. I never said that all SWFs are toxic. I said most are, based on my own experiences with them. That's why I avoid them.

Here is what I usually get as a killer:

    https://i.imgur.com/N2yOK8H.png

And as a survivor, this what I usually see from other SWFs:

    https://i.imgur.com/OGz7KSy.png

Why in the ######### would I ever want to risk subjecting myself to that? Why would I ever want to entertain people like that? Why would I want to go up against this:

    https://i.imgur.com/yj8Gv8L.png

As a killer even at low ranks? For what? Pride? A challenge? No thanks. I have more respect for myself and my mental health than that.

If that makes me a coward, or a filthy casual, or a killer that's just seeking 'easy prey', then so ######### be it I guess. However, as someone who has been intensely bullied in school as a little kid to the point that the police had to be involved and my mental health had gotten so deteriorated that even now as a teenager, I've still not fully recovered from the abuse despite it being a number of years later. Anyone who just says 'ignore it' or 'grow a thick skin', seriously doesn't comprehend or been seriously bullied or harassed in such a way in their life.

You can't always just ignore it. But you can avoid it. And that's what I do.

    @Sairek

Okay. That's not a balance issue, but I'll amend my suggestion then:

    Option 2:

    • Significant bloodpoint bonus
    • Killers see who is in SWF
    • Dodging is significantly penalized
    • Repeated, intentional, and pattern of D/Cing is punished, as intended
    • Text chat harassment is punished, as intended
    • Low priority queue for dodging, d/cing. Suspensions for abusive communication.

@Gay Myers (Luzi) Having any number of soft bans is scary in-general. I'm sure they don't wipe the slate clean if the player was being a good killer/survivor do they?

If not, then yeah... its pretty scary to have one... (having two would put you in constant paranoia)

Most players won't have to deal with it because most players won't be d/cing every other game.

You cannot deny that the devs are already too lenient. At the very least, low priority queues should be a thing.

  • so i helped the nurse catch her by blocking her at a pallet

When she got downed and hooked i spammed unhook animation on her 4-5 times but then left the hook

    Let's just make this clear:

That meg made the game last more than half an hour. we were both annoyed by her.

YOU were the one who made the game last more than half an hour. You could have spent less than six minutes finishing the gens and forced her out using EGC. Instead, you dedicated your time to work with the killer to grief her.

You are not entitled to farm other survivors, and I hope whatever response you get will teach you that.

  • Because solo survivor is such a FUN and ENJOYABLE experience, so why not make playing with friends as FUN as playing versus four killers?

  • Yes, yes... Don't self-care.

That way, I'll be able to hear your cries of pain and one-shot you.

  • What are Killer sided maps?

  • It's intended. Otherwise, you'd be able to pick them up and drop them infinitely. It was added because people were abusing that, actually.

“Created for a myriad of reasons and holding the game hostage is far down the ladder”

That’s literally all it’s good for though

It made end-game more exciting. It gave more end-game control to the killer and buffed all end-game perks. It limited the duration for taunting. It ended the hatch standoff.

Survivors swapping lockers for half an hour out of spite is as rare as it sounds. It is not the primary reason they created the EGC.

  • @Madjura Not a fan of Achievements. They're not exciting for me. I want in-game rewards. Yep, I have bought the ones I like already. Yes, they should lower the price and I am aware they may give me stuff I don't want.

What I would like is that they make the rewards abundant, such that I am satisified with the amount I get for a monthly fee, and optional, such that we are able to buy cosmetics piece-by-piece directly like we can now.

Again, I don't necessarily support it because I don't know what they are offering. I have to see it before I decide that it isn't just another money-grubbing scheme.

  • @Exerlin said:

@Poweas Yeah, but it might have been harder to program if it only affected the killer's hearing. If a survivor has iron will and the killer has stridor, the game does some simple math to figure out how loud that survivor is (100 - 100 + 50 = 50). If it worked the way it should work, the survivor's output would be 0%, and the devs would have to write new code that would allow the killer and only the killer to bypass that. This could have caused some issues in development since you were increasing the volume of a sound that didn't exist, and it might have required a complete rewrite of the code that handles the survivor's pain and breathing sounds.

They're pretty dodgy with sound changes, that's for sure.

  • @Poweas said:

@Exerlin shouldn't it only affect the killers? It makes no sense for me to hear my grunting and the killer to hear nothing despite them running the perk?

TBH, that would be a nice QoL buff for Stridor.

The Killer hears you at 25%. But I don't think survivors need to get notified that the killer is running Stridor.

While I agree the original complain in this post seems silly and the solution is exactly as you stated, lets remember that the EGT only exists because of survivors holding games hostage for the past few years.

I don't clump every survivor into this category but it is the reason I won't take any complaints about being slugged seriously.

I really don't see how that is at all relevant. Furthermore, EGC was created for a myriad of reasons and holding the game hostage is far down the ladder.

Let's not encourage the OP by pretending it is anything more than just a matter of undeserved pride.

  • Killers are allowed to slug survivors for 4 minutes-- where the only gameplay option is literally to crawl around the floor before getting autokilled..

But in your world, survivors shouldn't be allowed to taunt for less than two minutes and you can't be arsed into taking twenty seconds to M1 them out?

    Wow.

  • Yes if it means I get more cosmetics for a cheaper price and add interesting in-game objectives. I'd rather pay a subscription.

No if it means other areas of the game will be neglected (ex: free to play/iridescent shard options) and it drives the game even farther into microtransaction freemium rabbit hole. (We have like 10 DLCs already... Is the "full" game worth $90 + monthly subscription to you?)

Either way, I want to see what they propose.

Maybe after ruining the first two games for four other people, he should've thought about taking a break...

You have to D/C a freaking ridiculous % of your games to get any suspension or ban. Your "outages" are no excuse. You have been doing it on purpose and whatever mistake you claim is actually the last nail in the coffin.

  • Unique voice actress too please.

Sorry I prioritize not getting bullied by people with an unfair advantage thanks to a third party program so 4 people can stroke their e-peens.

Even bribing me with more blood points wouldn't make me want to play against a 4-man SWF.

Bully squads are rare, but 90% of the time a SWF group is toxic. Either T-bagging the entire time, insulting you in post-game chat, or just disconnecting to give a friend the hatch, etc.

First, you are intended to use your best addons and offerings. 4/5 times, you will destroy teams with an ebony, meta perks, and two ultra rares/very rares. If you don't, then honestly, you're either tilted or not very good.

Second, no one wants to play versus SWF. The point is to force you to, in exchange for being prepared for them.

Besides, I bet you can't even tell who's SWF when you dodge. If they're really tryhard, they'd just hide their profiles.

  • Old Legion and Spirit did the power bar pretty well.

yes this would be wonderful idk about 3 idc cause I don't dodge as killer personally but 1 and 2 I agree with I've been accused of swf by the killer so many times it's funny so it works both ways.

    @KillermainBTWm8

I would dodge SWF like no tomorrow if I knew they were SWF in lobby and there was no drawback.

Some people prioritize fun/easy games over BP.

  • Option 2:

    • Significant bloodpoint bonus
    • Killers see who is in SWF
    • Dodging is significantly penalized

That way, Killers will be able to adjust their loadout and are enabled to put on their best add-ons facing groups.

Im sure you know already, but the biggest complaint is that he's no longer nearly as fun to play as before.

I don't know what's more concerning, the fact that people are imagining things or that so many others are totally willing to take unsubstantiated easily disproven anecdotes at face value.

not to derail my own convo but silent hill isn’t as scary because it’s third person, actually, it’s fixed camera. CoF is first person, and loaded with dread. MUCH more effective in first person. Can’t see what’s behind you. There’s a reason PT ditched the camera type. Also you know silent hill is also loaded with jumpscares right?

In my opinion, the camera angles made Silent Hill scarier because you had no control over the camera. You were forced to look toward where the game wanted you to look. It was intentionally discomforting and disorienting.

I agree, her sounds were better in the PTB.

They improved her sounds since the first patch (less Waluigi-like HAAAAah), but it's still not as good as her originally subtle and mysterious variation.

  • Where is your proof?

I haven't noticed any difference at all. Are you sure you weren't playing versus a killer with a lower leveled Overcharge?

  • SWF > Killer > Solo

It's not about SWF being easier to win, it's simply more fun because people are willing and able to cooperate. Killer is okay because it's a mixed experience. Sometimes too stressful, sometimes too easy. Maybe 1 every 5 killer games I get stomped, but that's not bad really.

Solo survivor is the worst though. It's not fun being matched with randos that grief, idle, play extremely selfishly, sandbag, d/c etc. 5 games in a row at green ranks had d/cs for me. Really annoying.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

@Visionmaker The problem is that newer players don't have all different killers and perks leveled up and often can't prepare accordingly.

@NoShinyPony What is your point? New survivors will have nothing that new killer players need to be adequately prepared for.

There is no reason for a player to be able to dodge match ups, other than ping and uneven ranks.

  • No. This has a significant impact on game balance. Killers are meant to be able to prepare their loadout with regards to what the survivors have.

The real problem is that killers are able to dodge with disregard. No one should have this privilege in a competitive environment.
