Ds was broken before they changed it but how long did it took? 3 years?

The problem is that second chance perks are quite good and can waste killers time too much. If there was enough time for killers those perks wouldn't be a problem.

    Yes. I get that.

    But when was DS released?

  • Name one stupidly OP perk for survivor before MoM please.

That could work, but the dev team has a lot of things stacked against them where we can claim they have a survivor bias.

So really, fog whisperers criticism would most likely be ignored as far as killer is concerned. Ghostface is just latest example.

Both sides will claim whatever bias if something happens that doesn't serve their side. Don't start with that #########. Anyone here for longer than thirty seconds can see that.

  • This is under the assumption that this game doesn't have a focus group and has never consulted other dev teams.

I find it highly unlikely that Scott's idea is novel. For all we know, we already have one, they gave their opinion, and this first iteration is the product of that. Having a focus group doesn't guarantee that their opinions will change anything either.

  • Skilless aura reading is unimaginative and cancerous. Freddy doesn't need it any more than any other killer does.

  • I guess most perks are just meant to be as useful as Wake Up.

  • @Spectro said:

This so much... Perk will be much much weaker for solos. SWF on the other hand: hey, I'm about to go down near the killer shack, come get your MOM stacks. The perk will be just as strong as it is now but only for SWF groups.

Only one person can get protection stacks per injured survivor so it's still pretty ######### even for SWF.

  • Please just rework the perk to something else.

Killer aura reading is always gimped because it's ridiculously strong. Dump the aura reading, get creative and make something that doesn't need to be butchered to be balanced.

  • Then I think it is worth it.

Honestly, it's not as good as Ruin because it requires way more skill, but BBQC helps you find what generator probably needs to be regressed by PGTW, judging on where the survivors are.

And the fact that it's 60 seconds now is super awesome.

  • Regress every gen on the map for twenty seconds minimum just for a pick up? Does that sound reasonable?

  • You can easily find the hatch and close it before they get to it. There is plenty of time before the second to last survivor bleeds out, and plenty of time before the hatch opens after hooking.

A hatch camper only beats incompetent or impatient killers.

And sure, having survivors not wanting to save you sucks, but this is not a hatch problem. I can die on the first hook as a solo survivor. Are you going to punish people for those cases too?

  • it could promote some more variety in killer choice as well as in survivor choice of what actions to take when.

I fail to see where in your suggestion that this would happen. One of the biggest reasons why many killers are weaker is because of their lack of map pressure.

Like you said, this suggestion would widen the gap between powerful killers with map pressure and weak killers without. So I don't understand what makes you think it would diversify killer choices when it makes no difference for weak killers. If anything, this simply makes Nurse and Billy more oppressive.

Furthermore, this doesn't improve gameplay on either side whatsoever. For survivors, the optimal strategy will be just sit there and not let go of a gen, otherwise risk having to sit there and M1 even longer. For killers... there are virtually no gameplay changes, except that you may not have to kick gens as much. Not exactly riveting.

  • Honestly it's a hassle to play the PTB since you have to uninstall it to play the main game again.

Plus, some people are just coming home from work.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

disagreed a bit, cuz it's kinda hard to implement for the survivor side (WGLF) if the killer was about to hook a survivor for the third time (death hook). and he denied it by DC'ing, or even DC'd during the animation. it'll give every other survivor a free WGLF stack.

on a killer's side, it would be a huge advantage that would increase the slugging by A LOT. and no need to explain why. I think all of u already knows how much people dc when all 4 survivors are downed.

I wouldn't mind getting these things in-game, but please. if it happens. make it AFTER the dedicated servers, most of you know why.

It's only marginally more complicated. With that in mind, it should only count D/Cs that happen from people before and/or during their first hook.

Intentional D/Cs will also be handled by the punishment system and a four man slug is incredibly rare. There is no need to put further thought into such menial situations.

I know Mori is pretty unbalanced, but in just my opinion mind you: survivors have keys to open the hatch, the fact that people don't use them often shouldn't be a counter argument, it's there and it makes things Alot easier survivor wise.

Just like how Mori makes it Alot easier killer wise.

    Keys? We're talking about keys?

I'm honestly shocked that instaheals aren't the first counterargument people think about, lmao.

  • Heavy smokers don't notice the smells.

  • tl;dr

There is a ban wave coming out.

Dedicated servers are coming within two-three months.

  • Sometimes, playing survivor alone feels like a punishment to myself, and there is evidently a lot of built up animosity between solo players.

Has there been any progress, whether conceptually or in testing, with balancing the difference between solo and SWF gameplay?

Exactly right! You get tunneled and then killed, that's no fun! I think you should only be able to Mori after the second hook or if someone's already entered the dying.

Honestly, it's about time they balanced moris if they're planning to chop down all the other broken stuff in the game. Flashlights, BNP, OP perks, instaheals, safe loops, even unbalanced maps have been/are being/will be visited on the survivor's end. Really the only thing they haven't chopped down is SWF.

Meanwhile, on the killer's side, a Moris blatantly encourage tunneling and are disproportionately game changing compared to its rarity and cost. They way they operate doesn't add anything positive to the game.

I'd like to see them reduce the power but make them more integral to gameplay in exchange.

.... again may I propose that Cypress mori be baseline? :)

  • They will be punished once dedicated servers come about.

There's no need to buff Moris for this.

  • Dedicated servers are coming.

Dunno if it would change anything, but it might.

  • Some say high rank killers are still waiting for a full lobby til this day...

The hatch probably did spawn you might of missed it on accident, I know for a fact ive done this countless times, by searching for it, give up and instead do the last gen and then hearing it in a place I know I didn't check before/the killer bringing me to the hatch.

If you look at the three most recent patch notes, you'll see that there have consistently been hatch spawning bugs that are fixed.

It's not outside the realm of possibility for there to still be hatch spawning bugs since they modified the game so significantly recently.

  • @drunky26 said:

Just don't taunt the killer (teabag, flashlight click etc) and you're good.

@drunky26 There's nothing wrong with taunting until the very last moments of the game.

Psychological tactics are legitimate. If hitting a survivor on the hook will tilt them into killing themselves, I will do it. If teabagging and clicking to a killer will provoke them into a chase, I will do it.

If it is intended to make an impact on the outcome of the game, then your imaginary rules don't apply here. In most cases, it's not toxic, you're just insecure and gullible.

Object of Obsession is a great perk if you're playing SWF. You can see the killers location and inform your teammates. Only downside is they can see you too but you'll know they're coming at you since you can see them so you can start running early.

It's a troll perk that is completely unviable in most situations. More people just it to teabag than to actually gather information.

@Blueberry Oh. Well, that's clearly a lie then.

Remember Me is not a good killer obsession perk, it is currently trash.

"They are just gravitating toward it being a potential core factor in the game rather than something innately good or bad for survivors..."

I would agree however the devs have been quoted stating otherwise. They said that it is supposed to be a downside and survivors should be scared being the obsession.

I still like it. But no worries, MoM will be joining it in the trash bin.

Yeah, but they said that years ago, lol.

I think it’d be fine if it was just two protection hits.

It'd be fine if they fixed the Protection scoring event.

  • Don't just trap pallets and hooks.

  • @Blueberry said:

The devs for some reason think being the obsession is a downside to the survivors. Bar the killer just happening to be running a couple specific perks it has no downsides. Not to mention those couple perks aren't meta and very rarely ran in the first place. It does need an actually downside at base as there isn't really anything negative about being the obsession currently.

If ANYTHING I'd even say there's actually more positives to being the obsession.

There's only two good survivor Obsession perks (MoM and DS) and two good Killer Obsession perks (Remember Me and STBFL). Being the obsession could be bad with Remember Me or good with STBFL.

They are just gravitating toward it being a potential core factor in the game rather than something innately good or bad for survivors...

  • TBH I'm all for D/Cs when I'm playing Killer. They give a decent amount of pips and extra BP if they d/c on their last hook. It makes the game itself faster and easier, so it's better BP for the amount of time spent. And it punishes them on top of that.

It's less frustrating when you remember how much easier they make the game for you.

  • @Blueberry said:

This is one issue with it I was thinking about as well. What if there a limit to how low all your killers could be? Say for example like 10 levels. So if your highest rank killer was rank 1, then all your other killers would be sitting at rank 10 at the lowest when you started them. The number could be tweaked but you get the idea.

Yeah, something of that sort would be fair. I think the numbers could come from how Rank reset operates.

It'd be nice if we could get an in-game profile too (shown in end-screen). Like seeing our Top 3 favorited/played killers/survivors and seeing which characters we brought to Rank 1 or something of that sort.

@BoredByDaylight Character levels and time played are meaningless. Rank is the closest thing we have to a skill rating right now.

  • There needs to be a general killer rank alongside it.

If I am a high rank Legion, it makes no sense that I'd be allowed to hop onto the low rank queue to play Wraith. Even with no perks, I'd be unfairly destroying beginners. Then when I'm past mid rank, I could just hop onto one of the other 14 killers I didn't rank up to bully low rankers and ruin 20 games all over again.

  • There's more survivors in each game so you're naturally more likely to encounter toxic survivors than killers.

Plus, this is an asymmetrical game... The worst thing you can do to a survivor is torture and kill them and the worst thing a survivor can do to you is annoy and taunt you. Being victimized and deleted from the match can be more triggering than getting t-bagged to most beginners.

@BadMrFrosty This guy's a new player... Low rank survivors do not have control over the game at all.

  • Did you down someone under Borrowed Time?

There was a lot of information and it was fun. Direction for Freddy, Ghost Face powers and perks, map reworks, upcoming improvements, planned features, and their roadmap.

So not everything was finalized. So what? If everything was finalized, they would've released it by now...

The auto aim definitely is bugged or causes weird hit movements due to connection issues with the specific survivor. I remember when I tried to hit a survivor and he sprint bursted left and right causing the auto aim to radically turn my camera to the left side even though I never looked to the left during that moment. I ended up hitting the generator the survivor worked on. Those are really annoying moments.

As someone mentioned there should be a toggle on/off option. Simple solution.

The SB hit issue was already addressed. They said it was latency or something of that matter. Not auto-aim.

I think it was said on a dev stream or on reddit.

its been a while since hallowed blight so i don't remember how long i spent on it but i do remember survivor side went very quickly and once they made all the tiers accessible from both killer and survivor sides finishing off the tiers went very quickly as well

on expecting "access" to all content i assume you mean ability to pay for and not ability to get for free, because expecting to get anything the devs made after game launch for free is the most entitled you can be

DBD is a versus game and everyone who plays versus games play expecting to get better at them which means they want to be better than some one else.

if the cosmetics in the battlepass aren't exclusive then what would be the point of doing the quests and challenges that come with the battlepass since i could just buy the exact cosmetic i wanted and not do those things?

@holywhitetrash It was a significantly higher time investment than 4 hours per week in both iterations.

Both. They were the ones who said the Rift paid pass will be available via play time. It is not a topic of debate.

... That's such a stupid argument, I'm just going to ignore that.

Having the cosmetic earlier than everyone else. Three months is more than enough bragging exclusivity time. The point is having the OPTION. Right now, you are arguing against having the freedom to choose to play to pretty and pay to pretty. That is absurd.

And if you are going to call people addicts for wanting to spend less than $20 buy something as opposed to spending more than 4 hours of labor per week for three months, then you need to look in the mirror.

Maybe someone didn't fill you in, but my money is more of a contribution to the health of your game than your hours of gameplay. Ironically, I am the one arguing that free to play and paid players be treated equally.

  • @rch614 said:

I don't agree with a lot of your suggestions, but I definitely agree with this one. Auto-lock causes way more harm than good.

I can't tell you the amount of times I try to swing around a corner or pallet and then suddenly the lunge stops or jerks a different direction, smacking wood

There is no auto-aim for objects. You simply swung and hit an object.

You should check your mouse if your aim is suddenly jerking in a different direction.

    @Visionmaker yeah lol.

Exactly. I run brown add-on Legion 95% of my games. It's rewarding to have a landslide victory, and it's humbling to notice mistakes.

I also run MYC now to counter BT/DS, but hey, who am I to say how others should play?

Is MYC good for Spirit? Also yeah it's quite humbling when you use little and stomp survivors XD.

@Poweas It is exceptional with Spirit. Your husk counts toward MYC's activation range. Using maxed Distressing or Prayer Beads with it guarantees a silent Haunting and an easy MYC proc if timed properly.

So if you hook a survivor, walk away 32m (MYC will light up), then use your power to fly back to the hook and wait using your power until they are picked up, the unhooker will be exposed even though you appear right at the hook.

It works great against survivors that are greedy to pick each other up and SWF to dissuade them from saving each other.

edit: Maxed Distressing is only 30m so it's not perfect for MYC depending on the angle. :-(

Why would you camp a slug? Slugging can be strong. You get pressure from it just as hooking someone without even needing to carry them to a hook.

And as for the topic, I think DS is fine and maybe one of the reasons people still hate it is because they still have battle scars from the old DS

Because they are inexperienced and camping is all they know..

Anyone who plays at red ranks or observes top tier streamers can see that slugging is often the means to winning. But hey, tunneling feels too good.

  • First, I love that the complainers come out of the woodworks and act like they're getting 2-3 downs within 60s but somehow struggle with slugging or taking a single stun. What a joke.

    @Poweas said:

@Visionmaker when I get stomped, I take it as a wake up call to improve. It's why my skill as Spirit goes up so drastically after I get stomped, because I learn from it. It's also why I play her base relatively well.

I get stomped every now and then, but I learn and improve from it.

You're similar to me in that sense, you acknowledge your mistakes and learn from it :)

@Poweas Exactly. I run brown add-on Legion 95% of my games. It's rewarding to have a landslide victory, and it's humbling to notice mistakes.

I also run MYC now to counter BT/DS, but hey, who am I to say how others should play?

  • Insecure and boosted players that can't get away with tunneling and camping at higher ranks are personally offended by anti-camp and anti-tunnel perks.

If I get stomped by MoM/DS/Adren/BT survivors, I just suck it up and try to counter it next time because those games are a few and far in between and there are always misplays on my behalf involved. But that's just me.

  • Wraith, Pig, Hag, Trapper, Myers, Ghostface.

Thick fog makes stealth and trap killers really scary.
