Can't change killer in lobby because of a useless "killer-specific MMR"
Also, to hell with Hag. Hag, Doctor, and Spirit, they are zero fun to play against or to play as.

Survivors are the power role, we have more control over the outcome by base design. Honestly we influence 3 of the killer's emblems, all of our own emblems, and match length.
In most cases the killer has to truly be better or hope we screw up.
That just it right there; relying on survivor mistakes. A killer can be as good as they can, but if survivors don't make mistakes, there's literally nothing the killer can do.

Just be a douche canoe. Having a bad day? Facecamp with leatherface. Make a ton of slugs and watch them bleed out. Do whatever you can to just piss them off even more. You don't have to win, you just can ensure they aren't having a good time. That's kind of the idea of a killer, yeah?
Be a douche pontoon and be unable to rock the boat. Sounds good to me! I love your mind.

The only thing wrong with this post is the fact that you make it sound like no gamers play killer. You can complain about how awful it is to play killer without saying that gamers only play survivor.
I said, "Why gamers don't play killer"
I did not say, "Why no gamer plays killer"
-
MMR is trash and got more trashy when they tried doing individual killer MMR, the one that was meant to pair you with survivors of similar skill to that of your particular killer. That was a fart in the wind and they know it, yet still, killers can't change in lobby.

Gen speeds are bad when survivors split up on generators, and that's becoming a normal thing even in solos. They don't need toolboxes. You can have 2 people slugged on the ground, and 2 gens get popped no matter what you do, and someone goes and picks them up it's a wipe and reset. You have to rely on survivors making mistakes like stacking on gens.
That's an issue right there; killers do need to rely on survivor mistakes or happenstance finding them in the open.

Gen Speeds are only really bad when survivors bring BNP's and/or Toolboxes.
Thank the Entity for those toolbox nerfs. Good god, it was once possible to use a toolbox through two gens by yourself.
-
Gen slowdown perks are as follows: Corrupt Intervention that leaves you a three-perk killer the rest of the match and Hex: Ruin that, like most every hex, gets cleansed within a minute of the game starting. PGTW, while can be clutch, takes many seconds away each time it's being used to kick the gen, giving more time for other gens to be worked through (trade-off, I understand).
Surge is a neat perk, but honestly could use a buff to reduce the cooldown a bit. Oppression is a new one that I haven't ran, yet, which I'm now wanting to. However, the underlining issue is generators getting done before you can even get to them.
-
OoO needs a total overhaul; it is ridiculously, brokenly strong, especially when a 3-, 4-stack SWF is THE power role.

I can see them properly in all maps but Ormond. God, I really can't see ######### in Ormond. It's like survivors are on permanent Lucky Break and Dance with Me :_
Ormond is near impossible to track, what with the red marks somehow blending in perfectly with a white background and that wind cutting survivor noises (shifting plants, breathing, etc.)
Ormond looks great, I stop myself to look at it, but it's still garbage for killer functions.

You ain't lying. When you do, though...

Imagine if blood points were separate for survivor and killer. Meaning you can only use survivor blood points for survivors and killer blood points only for killers.

Yup. I know people have predicted doom and gloom for DBD in the past, but I find those predictions to be more prevalent than ever. With matchmaking in the state that it is, and no single player content of any kind, the odds of DBD attracting and keeping new players is incredibly low.
Attracting and keeping new -killers- is low. Survivors is too easy to keep people around; play with your friends along with their 5th perk of Comms.
Killer? You're thrown into the fire. Good luck.
-
Demogorgon ought to be ripping heads off, not just chew on them
-
I saw my buddy at rank 20 with a killer never played before matched with two reds and two purples.
-
Probably the same reasons survivors teabag incessantly at pallets and the exit gate.
-
Pff, no, it lasts about as long as breaking the pallet, and it's just good aiming practice.
-
SWFs aren't killing the game, it's a lot of fun playing with friends, it's just hard for the killer when the survivors have map-wide info at a moment's notice with their 5th perk.
-
SWFs have a 5th perk: Comms. There's nothing the devs can do about that in a world with Discord, but they purposely left out in-game chat for 1) immersion and 2) it gives a significant advantage.
There's been a problem lately of SWFs padding the MMR by having a smurf (or otherwise low rank survivor) account to get matched with low rank and, likely, newer killers. That is highly discouraging and turns people off from playing killer. Killer is not an easy role and pulling these shenanigans just makes it worse.
An issue with balanced MMR is queue times and we're essentially left with two options: Comparable matchmaking with longer queue times or throw a lobby into the next available killer (of which, I watched my buddy at rank 20, with a brand new killer, get matched against two reds and two purples on the first match).
-
How about running Kindred and being left to die on first hook?
-
Not like Midwich (holding W should not be meta on any map) and definitely not hot garbage like Yamaoka
-
I still say Nurse's base blink recharge needs to be slightly reduced; it's painful as it is. Take them down by 0.2 second each (0.2 seconds one blink, 0.4 seconds one blink with missed swing fatigue, 0.4 seconds two blinks, 0.6 seconds two blinks with missed swing fatigue). Something in that area.
She has the lowest selection and kill rate of the killers, I don't think a slight reduction in her fatigues would be out of the cards.
-
What I've gotten real tired of is seeing a SWF padding the MMR; high rank survivors with one smurf account to queue with low rank killers. I don't think they realize just how discouraging that is for new killers. It's been rampant lately.
-
It is a bug to cancel the fatigue. All the same, her blinks could use a reduction of 0.2 seconds per fatigue (0.2 one blink, 0.4 two blinks, 0.4 one blink with missed hit, 0.6 two blinks with missed hit). Her base blink recovery is painful. Given her low kill rate and low usage rate, I don't think it's out of the cards to reduce her fatigues just a little.
-
The Twins seem like a half-baked idea rushed to release in order to keep a silly 3-month timeline. That pattern cannot continue or they will create more problems than they can keep up with to fix.

Okay, rank resets make sense. One of the players had the shiny legacy outfits, which I’ve never seen at my level.
What would be the point of an alt account?
@Ghalam said:
Smurfing or using an alt account is to play at a lower skill level for easier games.
What Ghalam said. On top of that, I've been seeing more and more padded SWFs having reds/purples with one smurf account to get lower level killers. That's not fun and discourages new killers.
There will be plenty of games where it feels like you have no control over the trial. Whether intentional or not, survivors are the power role, just not every team is SWF Team 6 and make mistakes so the killer CAN get them.
-
SupaAlf says to charge the second blink and swing just before fatigue. I really don't see how, either, since I can either charge a second blink OR swing, and when I don't charge the second blink and swing, I just go into the additional swing fatigue.
Certainly it's an exploit, but I wouldn't mind at all if she stopped looking directly at the ground during fatigue, especially when it takes three whole seconds to recover one charge and an additional second for missed swings.

What should be fatigue hit timing in theory? I've been looking for some guides on this matter today, but couldn't find anything reasonable.
I saw your other discussion post, I'll move there.

Give it a shot next time you play her, mb you'll find it useful (I kind of don't). It doesn't even require high sensitivity.
I just can't get the timing right, same with the fatigue cancel. I'm not too worried about it, they're bugs, anyway.

Let's be honest with ourselves: DBD has come a looooong way since its inception. It really is in a better spot than before, even if it's taken four years and still trying to balance. If they want to stick with a ranking system, however, that needs to get ironed out and watch 58.49% of these complaints melt away when similarly skilled players are matched together. That, though, will come down to what the players will want: fair matches and long queues, or quick queues and thrown in with the next killer available (I have seen my buddy at rank 20 with a brand new killer matched against two reds and two purples. Say what you will about ranks not mattering, that's plain ridiculous).
It's tough playing killer, especially against SWFs and their 5th perk: Comms. Comms gives a significant advantage, there's no way around that or what you say; they just do. The devs didn't include in-game comms for two reasons, 1) for a more immersive experience and 2) the advantage it gives survivors. Obviously, there's nothing they can do about it in a world with Discord, and it's understood there are likely more SWFs in comms having fun rather than trying to be SWF Team 6, but it is still a massive advantage. On top of that, most often it's survivor mistakes that get them caught and killed and not the killer outplaying them. Well enough, that's what it takes for a killer to catch a survivor.
Saying you see more killers complain than survivors is likely confirmation bias and not what is actually happening, especially in post-game chat. After a couple thousand hours, 98% of sour or toxic messages, for me, come from survivors and their Survivor's Handbook for Killers (there isn't a Killer's Handbook for Survivors, now, is there?)
Also, toolboxes were in sore need of nerfing. Being able to greatly speed up your repair for two gens with one box was insane. Moris haven't been whined about all that much, it's not a bad change. Rather, most experienced killers agree with it. The complaint here is that keys weren't also worked, which they could use. For an idea: Have them take 3-5 seconds to open the hatch, increase the required gen-to-be-completed by one. Do you think there'd really be much backlash with that? I honestly don't.

I thought of that, but if that's the case, then why it doesn't see any play to other killers with fatigue (legion, deathslinger, ect).
Nurse is the only one that looks straight down during cooldowns

Or you could just look up when in fatigue.
I'm pretty sure it's not working as intended when the game allows you to do so, but this bug has been here since forever.
I've never been able to do that and I've played a whole lot of Nurse

Is it considered griefing when survivors hang out in the exit and wait until the last second to leave? Same concept, other side.

Well it's a good thing she isn't add-on dependent in the slightest isn't it? I don't recall the last time I used add-ons on her, or saw anyone else use them. Double recharge is nice to have but it's so fast anyway that it's not even a big improvement if you already know what you're doing. You're going to hit those blinks anyway if you're a good Nurse, the slightly slower cooldown makes no difference.
Well that's good for you
-
Nerf? Are you kidding me? Her blink recharge needs a boost! It's PAINFULLY slow; no power should be add-on dependent.
-
PC - I can't tell you how many times I've hit the vault and not the survivor while they're IN the window. I've hit obstacles behind survivors while they were in the way (no Dead Hard). Hits square on the back of survivors don't register often enough. Grabs off generators are next to useless.
-
OoO gives far too much info, it really is a broken perk
-
I'm with you, OP, I can't stand this ######### game right now. Time for a break and there's no telling if I'll come back.

All they need to tell you is that someone was there. Such entitled thinking that you should just get everything handed to you as a killer. Might as well ask them “BHVR can you just let me see through walls? Can I just look at them and then they’ll just fall over and die?”
You can piss right off with that "entitled thinking" nonsense. Scratch marks indicate where the survivor is going, not just where they've been. Picture this: You're chasing someone through woods and they turn left, will branches on the right be broken? Of course not. Don't be dense.

Freddy has to many, no effort strong powers and combined with no effort build (ruin/undying) and slow down add ons, it's hard to lose if you know the basics.
Why no one plays Demo, billy, nurse etc? Because they play the braindead non skill Freddy and Deathslinger.
They need to change the sleep mechanic, gen teleports, and dream snare spamming or reduce the hindered penalty.
What are your suggestions, then? This is a discussion of ideas for changes; pitch yours.

As a relatively newbie killer (rank 17, less than 100 hours all up and I started as pure Survivor) it seems a bit of a vicious circle. Bad matchmaking discourages new killers which means less new killers which means longer queues which means worse matchmaking....
That's pretty much it
-
@tactic said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1832815#Comment_1832815
I feel like a big issue with Freddy isn’t that he’s OP, but rather that he’s one of the most boring killers to play against and has a bloated kit.
so for my change I would give some sort of counterplay to his m2 so it can’t mindlessly be spammed, and remove passive survivor sleeping
Limits on snares/pallets, 10 on the board at any given time and cannot lay a new one without another getting used. That's doable, I think.
I've long said that passive timer could use an increase, maybe set it at 1:45 and see how it goes.
-
I imagine it's difficult to balance the matchmaking, especially since it would increase queue times. So, what do people want? Long queues and fair matches? Or quick matches and short queues?
I'm willing to bet the foremost issue is there aren't enough killers and it seems as if gamers are getting turned off from the killer role. I could be wrong, of course, I don't know the hard numbers.
