  • SWFs have a 5th perk (comms), why can't the killer have a 5th perk?

Having comms is an advantage, therefore, a perk.

  • Meat Plant is far too dark

  • They went excessive with breakable walls and scratch marks are more difficult to track these days. The maps look great, but play like trash.

I still don't play Yamaoka, to hell with them.

  • You've got 2,000 second chance perks, the scales are in your favor, not the killer's.

  • I swear survivors got a slight boost to their run speed recently. I swear it.

I'm sure it's not true, but damn, it takes SO long to catch up.

  • Killers nearly rely on survivor mistakes, that just ain't right. An effective SWF will split, do gens, loop toward the strongest (i.e. the 3-window infinite at the building at Mother's Dwelling), and they win Generator Repair Simulator. There are a ridiculous amount of pallets and a slew of second chance perks that just makes the game discouraging, aggravating, and off-putting.

Survivors are heavily the power role and they throw it in your face. Not potato survivors, obviously, but SWF Team 6. However, with how easy it is to pip survivor side, especially getting carried by better players, there's a enough potato red rankers that people don't want to solo queue and want to only SWF. The rank system needs a serious overhaul and make it more difficult to pip and have rewards for ranks at the monthly reset as well as rewards for devotion levels. Why even bother having devotion levels?

Hit validation is atrocious. I cannot tell you how many times I've squarely hit a survivor or hit them in the window while they're vaulting and it just doesn't register. Forget trying to grab anyone, that's free distance they're getting while you're locked in the failed grab animation.

  • Hit validation. My god, I don't know how many times hits don't register when I'm smacking them directly in the back of the head or while they're still in the window during a vault.

  • Totem spawns. I don't run them because they always spawn in the damn open or easy-to-spot places and are cleansed within seconds of the match starting. It's outrageous.

Generator speeds/locations. Split, do gens, stay around strong loops (or a three-vault infinite at the Mother's Dwelling building), and survivors win Generator Repair Simulator.

My thoughts are most SWF suck booty. Don't nerf them more just because less than 1% of them are god squads.

Less than 1% my ass, I'm constantly up against SWF Team 6.

  • Ace - they're cocky pricks.

Wraith - I just don't like going against him.

  • Meat Plant is a map I could do without. I don't much care for it, but I don't exactly dislike it: it's just there, you know? If I had my druthers, I just wouldn't play on it.

  • 1.1% reduction in all action speeds per SWF member for those members only:

    2 members - 2.2% reduction each

    3 members - 3.3% reduction each

    4 members - 4.4% reduction each

They have to queue together, it can't be that hard to program and it wouldn't affect solo queuers all that much. Gens pop like mad as it is, anyway.

If they didn't facecamp or tunnel, I'll usually stand at the edge so they can get a free down.

The only time I'll teabag is if it's a Ghostface so he can do it back Lol.

The best thing you can do is just exit.

  • @CosmicParagon said:

I never bother going to the gates once EGC starts. it's not worth it

    Nor do I.

  • Prove Thyself: increased gen repair speed by 15% PER SURVIVOR in the area is a bit much. Gens pop fast enough as it is.

  • SWF Team 6 with map-wide comms is the most OP perk.

  • *clears throat* Borrowed Time

    Deliverance is viable

    cough Decisive Strike

    *cracks neck* Adrenaline

  • Seriously? Survivors have it good enough as it is.

When ever you get faced with a toxic group I recommend that you just don't play into their hands. The second you sense any toxicity from them just stop chase and let them rush the gens and open the doors for them. They take pleasure in looping you while trying to aggravate you as much as possible so just walk to the basement and alt+tab to YouTube.

I had a match where I killed three and a Nea had evidently found the hatch because notifications were blasting off (hopping back and forth on a pallet). I told her to just exit and asked why the BM. She didn't, so I told her I wasn't coming and that I promise she can leave without the killer watching. Three minutes later, she realized I wasn't lying and decided to exit.

I don't even go to exit gates anymore, screw them, they're not getting that idiotic satisfaction.

The real trick to out doing survivors is to be better than them emotionally. Don't mori and just pretend that game didn't happen. I say kill em with kindness till survivors have the only toxic people left. Notice toxic people and not toxic survivors or killers. Think like this. Now that your gonna be first hook mori people lets say you do that to 2 people. thats now 2 people that may have been nice and are now toxic. We need people to be bigger than the jerks thats all.

As much as I like and appreciate that, I hate to say they won't stop. They haven't for years, why would they now? Don't fool yourself.

Sometimes the survivors really are a lot of fun and we have good games, but most often they're not anymore. I sincerely hope this upcoming patch (whenever it finally goes live) will be a saving grace and bring more enjoyment back to the game than grief.

so, I just bought the game about a month or two ago, and main wraith as a killer. I've learned everything I know from a popular streamer known as Tru3Ta1ent, and frequently see him go up against sweaty swf groups. As I hit green rank, I recently started going up against the same thing. Survivors who were blatantly swf who were trolling and annoying the ######### out of me. Today was the last straw when I faced a few red ranks, all swf. They all had borrowed time, decisive strike, and would conga line each other when injured. Two of them burned the crotus prenn asylum offering, which is a pretty bad map for wraith in my opinion. They were t bagging, and overall made my experience horrible. After all 4 escaped unexpectedly, they started spamming me with "baby killer", "trash", etc. Its ridiculous that I can't find any chill games anymore, and I decided to just quit the game. I was told by my friend, who convinced me to buy the game and play with him, that the game was slowly dying and he wanted more people to play it. Well now I see why. So many people, new players like me especially, are being pushed away from the game by these toxic swf groups. Something needs to be done, and until that happens, I won't even bother to touch the game. Devs can at least add some sort of casual game mode right? Kinda like rainbow six siege with casual, unranked, and ranked? Idk, all I'm saying is this ######### needs to be fixed, because its broken as hell...

There's a new patch soon to be live (it's been in PTB for three weeks) that ought to help us killers out. I've been playing for a year and I've nearly given up hope myself, but I'm hoping this patch will be a saving grace.

I play perkless and can win most games. I struggle against decent survivors obviously, but who doesn't. Even when it's impossible,I don't give up just yet. I don't camp(except EGC) don't tunnel(except if I can't find anyone else/unhooker) I will slug tho,i think it's perfectly fine to gain pressure like that. And that's why they changed gen speed efficiency when multiple people are repairing it,to stop that 1 gen from insta popping while the killer wobbles himself to the gen itself. Although,at high levels only certain killers can win while having to play in unfun ways and pretty much sweating their ass off. Some teams are impossible to win tho, those swf that actually play to win and not to have fun like most do.

Like most do? Lucky you. I'm consistently matched up with SWF Team 6. I won't lie, it's rather aggravating and one reason why I haven't played much killer for weeks. It just hasn't been fun for me, I'm sad to say.

  • @Peanits said:

Right, except it without a doubt does. The numbers have been changed such that they are slower than before. Assuming you're crunching the numbers correctly, there is not a single instance where a generator will be done faster than before.

Or much slower. I'm sincerely hoping the map changes will help with it.

  • @luka2211 said:

Haven't had someone say "ez" in my killer games for weeks now. Most are just ggs. Although,I have noticed alot more killers are tunneling/using moris and so on. As for ur killer problem, nothing you can do except keep playing until you reach their lvl.

Of course killers are, they can hardly take four steps without a gen popping and a lot of maps are just so big a gen can easily get done by the time a killer crosses it.

Killer hasn't been fun for me in months now, I've mostly quit the role. I'm hoping this patch, whenever it finally goes live, will make it at least tolerable again.

  • Is it true? About goddamn time! I've played some killer this morning and was reminded why I stopped playing killer.

I'm hoping this patch with be the saving grace.

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

I hope the killer base returns on Console.

These survivor queue times are getting worse. =/

    Do you not play killer?

  • Maps, infinite loops are finally getting taken out, gen speeds slightly...

Killers have been quitting the killer role for months so the MMR is entirely askew and wholly unbalanced, but this next patch may bring some back if it ever freaking goes live. We'll hopefully have a better chance against SWF Team 6.

Does anyone solo queue anymore? Or rely on OP map-wide comms?

  • @Nova_Terra said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234533#Comment_1234533

It does the exact same thing pre-patch as it does post-patch. It hasn't changed anything. The more people bunched on a single gen, the better for the killer. Wouldn't you want people to bring it?

Not when it's increased PER SURVIVOR. That's overkill.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234533#Comment_1234533

And the Penalty has gone up by 5% as well. So if you now use Prove Thyself and work on a Gen with another Survivor or you do that after the Patch, it will exactly be the same.

So the function of the Perk did not change, it did not get buffed, it got adjusted to the higher penalty.

Seriously, sometimes I really think people dont understand what the Perk is doing and only see "faster Gen Speed, OMG!!"...

And I'm saying they should have left it at 10%

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1233543#Comment_1233543

Prove Thyself did not change at all, compared to the current version.

It's gone up 5% when it really is needing a nerf.

  • I'm hoping this next patch will keep me playing, but I doubt it will.

Whispers and Sloppy Butcher are both in the base set and are good.

But yeah... most of the base killer set is pretty bad.

Two of the goodest perks right there.

  • Red ranked survivors abound; did you mostly pip queuing solo or have been boosted with SWF?

  • (ignoring all other comments)

Didn't you know? Green killer has been the new red for months.

  • @Ghostwithaface said:

Noed for life! Noed rebellion! No no noed!

There we go, with the memes out of the way. Since i seen some go with the idea, that noed rewards failure. Well what about Rancor, the spirit perk? Since each time a gen gets done, it rewards you with information as to where the survivors are, while giving one of them the power to see you for a short time as well. While at the end of the game, one special lucky survivor gets their own mini noed and mori. Is it the same as noed rewards for failure or does the downside of giving a survivor information make it a double edge sword? That or does the lesser effect, one target rather than the whole team, make it different from noed in terms of it being say more acceptable or is it just as bad as noed?

Rancor doesn't read auras, it just makes survivors scream for a second. You don't see where they're running to, only where they were. It's the same notification that Infectious Fright, Spies, or Doctor's blast gives; a scream. Meanwhile, there's a perk survivors have that reads the killer's aura whenever they kick something.... Rancor is just fine.

It's just painful to get hooked and just see 2 Claudettes self caring in corners

That's only painful when you're running Kindred and they CAN SEE EACH OTHER

  • Thana is akin to Freddy's dream state, but requires to first be injured. It's weak.

  • Thana needs to be coupled with a power or other perk, otherwise it's nearly negligible. It's a weak perk.

A good solo group will crush a killer just as badly as a SWF trying hard. The issue is *not* SWF.

Most of my games are against or with SWF, but so what. I lose when playing with SWF and I win against them too. I's part of the game, and has been for how many years now? I really doubt you're going to want them to buff solo survivors, only to nerf SWF, because that will just make things worse in the high ranks. A lot worse.

They already said they're adjusting maps. See how things pan out after they fix them.

Slow down gen repairs by 3/4/5% depending on the number of players in the SWF.

  • @SurviveByDaylight said:

Keep nerfing survivors or buffing killers via map size, less loops I think this game is becoming less and less fun. I think CERTAIN killers are too fast. Others need buffs. Clown, plague need help

What are you talking about? This game is hugely survivor-sided; so much so that killers have been quitting the killer role.

  • I don't find Head On OP at all. I only find it exceedingly annoying. Viable, but annoying.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I said it in another thread but these things get buried so quickly that I'm just gonna repeat it...

The issue is there are two kinds of SWF groups

    1. The group of friends who want to play together
    2. The SWAT Team (SWF Team 6 is a fun name for it too)

Group 1 is great to play with. They're fun; they get to have a good time with their friends while I as the killer get to go through my normal Killer Duties and stab people

Group 2 is the problem. While this may be anecdotal evidence, I have found that the SWAT Team is usually not only damn impossible to beat since they are in constant communication with each other but they're always the biggest toxic ######### to play again. If there is a cheap tactic, they'll use it and if they get any chance at all to mock the killer, they will 1000% take it.

The biggest issue that Group 2 causes though is that these are the groups killers remember and these are the groups that make killers quit the game because they're not only frustrating to play from a game-play standpoint, they always seem to make sure to rub it in your face and make the experience as awful as humanly possible.

The problem is that I don't know how you could solve Group 2 without directly hurting Group 1. If Group 1 starts getting hammered and frustrated by nerfs, they're gonna quit and now you just lost four players from your player pool. If you just ignore Group 2 though, Killers are eventually just going to say "F*#$ this S$1* I'm out" and now no one has anyone to play against as your Killer pool Yeets out.

I do not envy the position that the DBD team is in here

I don't envy their position either, particularly because I rarely come across Group 1. That's me you described at the end, "F*#$ this S$1* I'm out"

The quality of survivor (and maps and gen speeds) has gotten so high that killers all but rely on survivor mistakes to make any headway. I used to love the killer role, but it's just been annoying to play these last few months.

  • @andyollolloll said:

BHVR don't wish to identify SWFs as they realise the issue but don't do anything.

Meanwhile killers don't have fun, don't play then BHVR have to somehow fix matchmaking as there aren't many killers left

Repair speeds in SWF could be slowed just a bit (especially with the 5% Prove Thyself buff they're getting (the new "reduced" group repair times are garbage)). Make them stack per survivor in SWF.

    2 players - 3% reduction

    3 players - 4 reduction

    4 players - 5% reduction

Map-wide comms easily make up for this, be honest with yourself.

That's it. Break bones, crisis averted. Get with it, survivors, it's just that simple.

  • I don't mind playing against him at all.

Ruin is FINE. You just have to use it differently. Or run Pop Goes the Weasel.

It's now more of a mid-game stall perk than a free hook or two at the start. You have Corrupt Intervention for THAT old use now too.

I've always had my objections to NoED, ever since I started playing this game. It is also now what I find to be the perk that killers can lean into because they doubt their own abilities. I did it with old Ruin, I'll admit it freely. I now just see more killers using NoED.

And don't get me started on killer nerfs. I'm a Pig main ffs, probably the most nerfed character in the game. And I have an old thread literally saying to stop asking for nerfs everywhere and get more buffs to weaker things.

Fair enough, Ruin itself wasn't wrecked, but changed. It is a good hex how it is now, I should have specified that early game was wrecked with the Ruin change.
