It's not needed. Or are we going to remove Nurse, Spirit, Blight, and Freddy from the game with this massive buff?
A few killers is not indication of the abysmal state of the overall killer condition. Also, about Nurse, she has the worst kill record of 'em all.
-
Without a thing being taken away. This management team is incessant on taking away from any killer buff.
Killers just can't have nice things.

Map reworks, some perk changes, and a new killer rework/add-on pass would be nice.
They couldn't even buff Clown without also giving it to survivors.

Expecting: Cosmetics
Hoping: New management

DS isn't useless, it's only less-abusable by means of not able to work on a generator in front of the killer's face.
Don't worry, scratch marks now lead deep into rooms a running survivor didn't even enter. BHVR just can't give a killer buff without making something else more difficult.

Yeah. Don't. He's a trash killer and BHVR won't do a damn thing about it, but here's a few costumes that you can buy.

######### BHVR, stop giving them money

It's a literal gamebreaker. That one missed hit, one damn missed hit, can cost the game. Thanks, aim-desist.

And now to see how much these ones actually play. I'm hoping to be surprised.

"Next to you" and it took both running toward one another to find each other. I was expecting a load-in like I had by spawning in the shack looking at a survivor square in the face. I slowly turned and we had an actual start of the match, not one that just happened upon one other.

There is a difference between "The Devs dont listen" and "The Devs dont react to feedback with immediate changes". They are listening, but that does not mean that they are doing everything the people asked for ASAP.
Like, the world does not go down when there is one bad Killer released. If you dont like Trickster, dont buy it. There are so many Killers in DBD to play and at some point, they will most likely buff Trickster.
You're talking like it's a one-off when this happens all. The. Time.

The devs listen, but the issue is how long they take to fix something. Weeks to months. Even a year or two.
What you're saying is they're like the reluctant husband getting told to clean the gutters.
Everyone but that husband knows how silly and dumb that husband is, but it hurts the
husband's ego too much and refuses to clean gutters out of spite.

Their track record is consistently making minor balance changes based on the PTB and continuing to make changes to their killers in coming patches. There is no reason to expect it will be any different this time.
I don't think they should make big changes just based on PTB feedback. Otherwise you have the potential to overbuff every perk or killer with a high skill ceiling and solving the problem with another problem. I much prefer to see how the killer does in actual matches before doing anything too drastic. I do expect he's underperforming, though, and if so I'm sure there will be changes coming down the line.
Every patch, every chapter, killer is harder and harder to play. What balances are you talking about?

Blight should of been fixed either mid chapter or on live that was 6 months ago it took 6 months to adjust a client sided camers issue that is literally just sliding the camera up and tweaking the break and vault animations
They did a good job with ghost face that was 1 year before blight came to live.
What the ######### is the point of PTB?
BHVR needs new management.

They love to go out of their way to make sure you get next to no value out of a bloody party streamer or pudding. The sight of one must trigger some deep-seated rage within their souls.
It's truly something to behold how burning one is almost a guarantee that all players will actively try to end a match as soon as possible with the least amount of BP possible.
I've been talking about this for two years. Bloody Party Streamers are a curse.
-
And damn you BHVR for making it this way; killers having to rely on survivor mistakes to garner a win.

I’d imagine it’ll be nurse and spirit since they actually need nerfs
Most survivors are fine with Blighty boy
Have you played Nurse after her base blink cooldowns? She got nerfed hard.
She has the lowest kill rates of all killers.

It is quite unfair. If gen tapping is really a problem, you have to act on this action itself, using it to justify DS's nerf is not fair. You don't think gen tapping is a DS-only topic, so why use it to justify DS's nerf? How much perk do you plan to answer to this problem? One, two, seven, twenty?
The "gen tapping" being a fast action, it is consequently perfectly compatible with a killer who tunneling, and that DS making it impossible or punitive is in no way justified. Whether or not you agree with gen tapping ultimately has nothing to do with DS.
You actually give the impression of having an irrational hatred towards DS, justifying anything. Anything that will make DS painful, boring, is good to take... While we're at it, DS should make it impossible to pick up an item from the ground, open a door. Let's solve everything with DS!
Yes, the way gens can pop, tapping is very much an issue and absolutely should disable DS. It doesn't take away the perk entirely, but if you take an aggressive action, it ought to be disabled. It's taken how long for BHVR not only to address the issue, but to try (I did not say "fix," I said "try") to do something about this tomfoolery only shows BHVR needs new management. They have PTB for why? They don't listen to anyone but themselves and they hardly play their own game.
These arguments are useless. Don't give BHVR any more money.
-
Survivors mad a viable perk is slightly less abusable now
-
@DoritoHead said:
then why don't you run Predator?
Because that's a band-aid fix for an unnecessary issue. The scratch marks keep getting worse and wider.

I mean of course you're not wrong there, that was the intention of the nerf from the start.
A nerf is a nerf when it's a nerf. You're right, DS was nerfed, I am lesser right by saying that it is not as abusable than before.
As far as the dynamic of the game goes, it's not much of a change, thus far. Tactical changes are still being made amongst the SWFs, which is the majority of survivor players anymore (I haven't looked at hard numbers and I won't look at dev numbers because, Jesus, they think Object of Obsession is fine because of the survival rate of the OoO users themselves, not a team as a whole and relay that off of killer stats against the Object perk).
-
@oxygen said:
How is that not a nerf? A perk that didn't have a deactivation condition before now has deactivation conditions.
I like your brass tacks. How about I say "DS is lesser abusable than it had been" and carry on with the rest of the statement?
-
Freddy rework being an exception. Now, watch people talk about Freddy without having been said Freddy is an exception.
What's more, Old Freddy was the killer that actually got me into the game. A couple thousand hours later and now look....

6 Months?.... took them 5 years to get wraith into a semi competitive state.... still waiting for trapper lol and doesnt look like they intend to do anything on him
They're scared to buff killers; whenever they improve an aspect of a killer, they reduce the effectiveness of another. Latest example is Wraith: faster movement, but painfully slow uncloak.

I love the concept of Trickster, but their execution is atrocious.
-
He's more comparable to Plague than Huntress, but even then, he's still awful. It's hard enough playing killer, why make such a terrible one?
-
Hey, DS users, you're going to be fine.

Poor sportsmanship and, I promise, survivors CAN leave without the killer watching them do so.

I don't care, it just shows how desperate they really are

Jane; my god, that voice drives me up the wall.

Killers all but rely on survivor mistakes to get a win. If you have survivors hitting jungle gyms just right and not making mistakes, there's literally nothing the killer can do. Too much of that sinking feeling and it'll turn off any potential killer player.
-
The survivor on your screen should be hit, but you wind up hitting the wall/pallet. That's not even talking aim desist that can literally turn your hit toward a wall and away from the survivor.
-
Have you hit the window or pallet even while the survivor is in the process of vaulting? Hit validation is still jank.

Clown has great chase music
Was it toned down? Last I played Clown, his music sounded like a bunch of tin clanging that overpowered every other sound in the game. The rest is incredible and it plays in my head throughout the day.

Other than Clown's chase music.

SWFs have it easy and want to rub it in your face

For real, it's not hard to be gen efficient and that's all it takes to beat like 9/10 killers. The only reason it gets hard is because it's 3 other random people, you don't know if they are going to just throw because they want to go have dinner or let their little brother on their account or something.
Be gen efficient, know how to run a killer, and honestly the coordination required is fairly minimal. Even when playing in a SWF the only info we share we wouldn't already know is like "I am going to come save you" that's about it.
It's disheartening that killers all but rely on survivor mistakes to get any headway. Frankly, I'm tired of it and taking a hiatus from what was once a favorite thing of any game to play.
-
BHVR does their best work with original characters, even if the killer role is quite frustrating right now.
-
What I'm real tired of is killers having to rely on survivor mistakes to make any headway. It's severely frustrating and off-putting how strong survivors really are. They have slews of second chance perks, lots of speed, the sound to track them is all wonky, scratch marks go every which way even when running in a straight line (if you can see them at all).
Aim desist, slow killer movement (I said it), narrow FOV, desync, survivors with their 5th perk, thousands of pallets... it's just not fun anymore. That's not even including the toxicity from survivors. Sure, the game looks great, but the gameplay is jacked up.
-
Survivor is the power role, so much so that killers rely on survivor mistakes to make any headway. It's greatly frustrating and reasons why people stop playing killer. I'm on a killer hiatus because I'm just sick of it; it's not fun anymore.
-
It's just how good survivors have it. This game really is survivor-sided to the point that killers rely on survivor mistakes to get any headway or wins. Frankly, I'm fed up with it.
-
What gets me are vaults; there's been plenty of times a hit should have landed, but will hit the window even while the survivor is in it.
-
Often, yes.
Of course, sometimes, it's just me.
-
The devs will touch keys before they touch gens and they won't ever touch keys.
